    Morning girls,

Bron - how about puting him in the bathroom with you in a bouncer and having a really long hot shower - not only will the steam help Wills chest but will do you the world of good to just stand there under the water (bugger any water restrictions, i am sure that there are days that you dont manage to get under the water or as soon as you get in you have to get out again!!!)
In general - green snot +bacterial, yellow snot means viral... what this means to you is that yellow snot means that antibiotics wont help as they only work on bacterial infections (thats why when people have a cold there is no point getting anties) SO maybe it is treatable with something...
The other thing is maybe you could have a look on the internet (i will too) about using eucalyptus in wills bath, dont think you can, but maybe really dilute may help, the other thing is obas oil (from the chemist) i am sure that if you put this on a cloth that is under his head (on a bit that is near his head, not under it) it wil help with his breathing.
One other thing that i just thought of.... maybe if you put Vicks on YOU above where his face would be when he feeds, maybe the vapours could help.
Try not to worry hun, he may also go off his food for a bit - i know i do when i feel sick, make sure that you are eating well too, so that all that goodness goes to him when he does take a bit (we are fighting colds so i made chicken stock and have been eating soup loads... dont know i it will help but i feel better)
The other thing to bare in mind is that if he cant feed from a breast, he probably wont be able to feed from a bottle either as it is because of the breathing... if you are really worried about him feeding maybe you could express a little and syringe it in, very slow process i know, but he can feed that way.
    Hope this helps

Prama well done on the weight gain - you must be soooooo proud of yourself for sticking with the feeding - you are amazing!
thanks for asking about the thumbs

Shell - sorry you have had a crap evening, i hope you got a better night...
Men are very insesitve at times... DH also wants to talk when we get in, i use that time to sort washing and finish dinner - we eat at 9pm, after MJ is in bed, its just easier that way. i perpare some bits during the day - usually i walk to the shops and buy what we are going to have and then once she is in bed it is just a matter of finish cooking...
If i cant be bothered, i do a pasta bake or something and get it ready during the day when she has a sleep, then all i have to do is heat it up... not a favourite meal by any standard, but thats what he gets!
Saturday DH usually cooks. I had a go at him the other day, i cook, do all the dishes and then when we finish dinner, DH takes the plates and just dumps them in the kitchen... we have a dis washer - how hard is it to put them in there... when he cooks, i do all the dishes and load the d/washer - we also have 2 or 3 extra people for dinner saturday, so there is more plates too grrrrh (at least he put the dishes in the d/washer last night, so maybe it had some inmpact - we will see it if it lasts thou)
Shell maybe when you have a good day, make some meals that can just be heated, i make a big batch of spag sauce, freeze some, make a lasagne (half gets frozen) and we have some that day, that way, hen you hare having a crapy day you can just reheat, and if he doesnt like it, then he can cook something else! :P
Yes the men are the bread winners at the moment, BUT ,who isgoing to look after you beautiful bubba if you have to go back and share that load of earner - someone that may bring him up in a way that does not suit you.
At least Doni can do a feed for you, thats still all up to me

Teach - wow what a boy - i bet you get just as sick of hearing about how big he is as Prama does on how small poopy is!
Not using sleeping bags, what type do you use, and do you still use blanket and sheets?
Last night gave her an extra singlet and she slep from 9pm to wait for it.... 7am!!!!
My god was she hungrey when she woke!

Oh.... now i was right about Ovulating.... i know this cos i got a visit from AF last night, although i am happy that i am not pg i am shattered that it is all over, was hoping for a bit longer, but i know it is cos MJ is sleeping through the nights and tbh i would rather her sleep longer and me have AF!

Wow, what i long post cant believe that she is back asleep again!

sj - bugger about AF but glad about not pg!
i usually have leftovers for lunch. Either DH cooks or i cook. if he cooks, i do all the washing up. im the dishwasher! but if i cook, he cuts up the stuff and i cook and wash up, he's hopeless at washing up. some days we just get some takeaway. and then takeaway leftovers!
im the opposite, i want to talk and talk when he comes home. i feel a bit lost without adult conversation and just having one way conversation during the day, and just baby talk.

Poopy's GP also said we could put a tiny tiny bit of eucalyptus oil on his bedding, his sheet/blankie so he can inhale a little while he sleeps.
thanks a good idea abt having vicks on us while bf..

thanks sj - my goal of bf was 4mths, which i think i will reach. but i have to continue till 6mths as we are os and dont want him to get sick and get all the antibodies from me. if i can do 6mths, i'll be over the moon.
im a bit apprehensive about feeding when he has teeth. i hear they really bite. eeekkk.
hehe, thanks that emoticon is so cute.
    well done on the sleep!
poopy slept from 10pm to 7am! i put on his wondersuit, but he still manages to get a finger or two out! and a thicker wrap. and i didnt feel overfull till about 6am. so yay!
he has a little nap about 7ish -8pm so we eat then. then we give him a bath at 9, then a last feed, then cuddles and bed.
we're still in wrap. he thinks it's a game now. as we wrap him and we turn him to tuck the end of the wrap, he giggles! i have a sleeping bag which i havent really used yet.

he;s asleep, i should do something aroud the hosue but couldnt be bothered. anway, he will be up soon for his next feed.

i hope trina is having a good time!!

SJ I've got a couple of polar fleece ones like they sell in target, big w etc. I put these on him when it's cold with his jumpsuit underneath and sometimes a pair of socks. When the weather is warmer I use sleevless ones made of a lighter material. I don't use blankets, he didn't really like being wrapped anyway. I just adjust what he is wearing underneath to make it warmer or cooler. His sleeping through at night coincided with me using a sleeping bag (think he was getting cold in early hours of the morning) and not changing his nappy overnight (use a night nappy or BBH with a microfleece booster in between the BBH inserts).

Bron I saw a product at the chemist that you can use from 3mth +. I think it's basically vicks in invidual satchets that you put on their bedding. It's hard when they've got a cold at this age. Paddy's given me his and it makes me feel tired so no wonder they get grumpy. I don't know if those vapourisers are any good do you know anyone you could borrow one to try?

Off to change my fourth pooey nappy in the past four hours!

    Hi girls,

Well having a much better day with DJ Yipeeeee he did a massive greeny/brown poo this morning. had to expect that colour would change since I now have to give him top-up in formula. It stunk so much!!! went out for coffee with my friend and had a lovely time, and walked around shops, saw a great jacket that I want so hoping to give Doni a hint for my birthday coming up He is going to take the day off for my birthday since he has to work on the next two weekends for New Zealand work trip, so that will be nice, probably will go out to lunch.

Bron - DJ has a small cold so I have been putting baby vicks on his singlet so he can still smell it. We are also pulling out lots of snot in the mornings, hasn't gone to his chest yet. It is so hard as it gets colder, lots of bugs going around. Just keep his fluids up as best you can, if he doesn't take breast or bottle try feeding him through a big syringe maybe?? It might be a bit tedious but at least his fluids will be up Hope that helps.

SJ - good idea on preparing and freezing food on my good days, think I might just do that, great suggestion

Prama - what a great sleep from Poopy - that is fantastic!!! On Monday I will get Poopy to touch DJ's hand and hopefully that good sleep will rub off on him kehehehee DJ is sleeping from 9'ish to 3'ish which isn't too bad, just wish he would sleep through til 6am kehehe

    HOpe you are all well.

    Speak soon

shell - yaay for poo! lol. is DJ much more settled now?
Glad you had a good lunch! Is she feeling better about going back to work and all?
yup, hehe poopy can touch dj's hand to pass on some sleep dust. haha

today is my turn to be sad...
i posted a while ago that i wanted to go have mussels for mothers day at this restaurant in newington. i told dh that i wanted this for mothers day and nothing happened. so i was upset and when he said he wanted to get me a present, i said i didnt want it cos i told what i wanted and he forgot. so what's the point of getting me something i dont want when i cant get what i want.
anyway, he made me tell him what i wanted, so i told him. ive been wanting to have mussels for so long, and couldnt have it when i was pg and ttc. so it's been a yr. he said he sort of remembered me telling him i wanted it but didnt remember that i wanted it for mothers day. oh whatever! i got upset that i told him several times for mothers day and he didnt remember.
anyway, ive been waiting to go, since i thought he got the message and that we're going os in a few weeks.
so nothings happened and we've got plans till we go away.
so i brought it up again today and i was so upset. (beign at home you hve a lot of time to get worked up). he said so when do you want to go, and that he forgot cos he cant have mussels (allergy). i told him why do i have to tell you when i want to go. why cant you ever say, would like to go here at this time etc. and there's other food at this place. i would never forget if he wanted to have something. ive booked for him to have steaks etc when i dont eat beef.
if i have tell him where and when i might as well organise and book myself. then it's not special anymore. it would be nice if he could do it for me.
he can organise to go to see his mate at stanwell tops next week, why cant he organise something so simple for me..
im just so disappointed and sad.
he even said he'd make me a special malaysian meal for mothers day and it never happened and i made it myself.
im just so tired of being stuck at home and on my toes all the time and not being able to relax.
at least a meal out to make me feel special would have been nice.
    sorry for the whinge.

I think I am suffering from insomnia - I am soooooo overtired that when it comes to going to sleep I just can't sleep. It takes me ages to get to sleep after feeding DJ's early morning feed, I end up thinking about stuff and just can't sleep. arghhhh Doni got up for an early morning bike ride so asked him to do his 6am feed for me so I could get some resty. Anyone else like this???

Otherwise things are all good here. Ever since I have been giving DJ a top-up in formula he is a different baby, so much happier and content. My breastmilk obviously doesn't fill him up. He is even starting to fill out everywhere in his body so i think this weeks weigh-in will be an improvement

Prama - I agree with SJ, why don't you just organise a lunch with your girlfriends and leave Poopy with hubby Men just don't get it sometimes. Doni is the same.

I wonder how Trina is going? I bet she is having a great time.

    Hope we are all well

thanks sj, shell. dh is trying to be really nice today. i know he feels bad, but then it's always the same. i am very grateful that he helps out so much but sometimes you want little things that are special to you, esp. now that you dont even have 'me' time anymore.
will try to organise to for mussels, maybe a mothers group thing. htey have great woodfire pizza too. yum yum.

sj - hope you feel better today after a bad day yesterday. lots of hugs!

shell - hhhooooorraayyy y that dj is more settled! im sso glad. is he sleeping longer? im sure he will put on weight at the next visit. yaaay!
