    I'm number 1!

Hello to everyone! Can't remember what happened to everyone in the other one, but I do hope that you and all of your beautiful babies are well!

Haven't really had time to get in here much lately - Emy is keeping me busy, or we are out and about, or if we are at home, then Jason is always on the puta doing stuff for work, or downloading stuff for his new toy - I got him a new GPS for fathers day, but it didn't come with an australian map on it, so he has had to download stuff to put on it - stupid technology... takes so blooming long to do stuff with dumb old dial-up. But we should be getting broadbnd this week, so i'm be able to do stuff while his other crap downloads - it takes too long at the moment.

We have had good news this last week - we are both nurses, and Jason has always wanted to work in Intensive Care, and last week he got the letter offering him a job! YAY!!! He starts in January, but the bad thing is that he needs to do a lot of study to work up there, and there is a transition package, that he has 12 months to do it in, but if it doesn't get done, then they can fire him - which is good knowing that the nurses in ICU are supposed to be so knowledgeable, but bad for us coz he will have less time to play with us. Oh well, in the end it will lead him to a better job, and better pay in the end I suppose... even though that will still be years away...

Emy has been really cute lately - but I think that she is starting to get a bit clingy. I went shopping with Mum last week, and Emy had had enough of the pram, so mum was carrying her, and when emy realised that i was standing next to them, she reached out and leaned towards me - so cute! she has also done it when jason has been holding her, and when sitting on the floor too. Bummer that i have to go back to work in a month - even though it is 2 days a week, I really dont want to leave her...

Guess what else happened when i was shopping, we went into myer, and mum was looking at handbags, and we found some where the price was originally $1075, marked down to $750, and then were on sale for 75% of the marked price - so only $185.50! A bought one, and gave J a heart attack when i showed him the marked prices, and then he felt a lot better about the $185, but in the end i toook it back coz the stupid thing didn't have a bit for my mobile. how annoying! oh well. it was nice to think of owning a thousand dollar bag for a while anyway...

That is about all that has happened in our lives lately - Emy is going well with her food - we tried broccoli the other day, and the face she pulled with the first spoonful was hilarious! It was so scrunched up and cute! She ate it all though. Her favourite is apple so far - gobbles it down, and cant get her mouth open wide enough for more.

must go now - Emy had just woken up and wants a feed.

    hugs to you all!

Ali - what a bargain! I would love to say I own a $1000 handbag! So cute about Emy reaching out for you.Nic doesn't do thatyet, he sort of falps his arms out like an aeroplane! Congrats to Jason on the promotion! Fantastic news!

Hi everyone else, sorry, can't remember what was said on the last thread! We are going great. Nic tried avocado and banana for lunch today and after the first 2 mouthfuls, he loved it! His face is so funny all screwed up! Yesterday, we got some video of him in his jolly jumper. He was bouncing so high, he banged his head on the bar above him! I think we may have to put it up a little higher from now on. He loves to bounce though.

Well, had better go, unfortunately these baskets of washing aren't going to fold themselves!

OMG i leave you guys for a weekend and look at all the post!
Well we had a wonderful holiday! it was fab, my aunties place is right outside the beach! i woke up to the sound of waves crashing on the sand every morning, just bliss! we are considering moving up there in the next year! just got to organise ourselves alittle better~ Locky had such a great time, he called me mum a few times which just makes my overly proud and sadden at the same time, i which his mum and him could have the same relationship we do. it makes me very upset to know she doesnt want him anymore, and when we asked locky if he wanted to go to mums this week, and he's like nope im staying with dad and cassie!

but we all had such a great time. besides getting woken up very early in the morning! my aunty and uncle have 8 kids (6 at home - 11yo-4mon) who dont like to sleep in the mornings!

we had a wonderful day on the beach, izzy played in the sand. she thought it was great even went into the water~ with big smiles on her face!

the drive was exhausting tho 4-5 hours... it really took it out of me so i am going to bed!
    nights hugs and kisses
    ill do personals later

Cassie - sounds like you had a fantastic weekend! Don't you just love waking up to the sound of the beach? And I am not even that big a fan of the beach (not a good swimmer, and hate how sand gets everywhere), but still love listening to the waves. We camped on the beachfront a couple of years ago, and it was great listening to the waves all night long.

It is always very sad when a parent doesn't want anything to do with their kids anymore. My sisters and her ex broke up when my neice was only very young, and when it first happened, my neice kept asking for him, and saying that she wanted to go and sleep at his house, and now the last 4-5 years she hasn't even been calling him dad, just his first name. He is so rude - he got a new girlfriend years ago, and they got engaged, and he kept saying that my neice would be the flower girl at his wedding, but then he and his fiance moved to perth, and she wasn't even invited to their wedding at all. My sister is soooooooo much better off without him...

Jo - Sounds like Nic has been having loads of fun in his Jolly Jumper. I kind of wish that I had the guts to put Emy in one, but i heard years ago that they weren't good for the baby's spine, and although I believe they have improved the design to be more supportive since then, I just still can't feel happy putting her into one... but I reckon that she would love it if i did!

We had a first last night - since the day Emy was born, she has always been wrapped up at night to sleep, and the couple of times that I have tried leaving her unwrapped, she has woken up heaps, so end up wrapping her again. But last night I put her to bed unwrapped at about 6:15, and she slept till 8:30, then we had a quick cuddle, then she slept till 10:30 we she was really distressed, so gave her another cuddle, and some water, and tried to wrap her, but then at 11:30, she was awake again, so I took her in to bed with me, had a lie down together and a feed, and by 12:15 she was back in her own bed - unwrapped, dummy in, eyes wide open. But I tucked in her blankets, put a different light on in her room to what i usually use that was a tiny bit brighter, and put her toy giraffe where she could see it (hadn't tried giving her a toy before), and then left her. I crept back in at 12:40 to see how she was going, and she was holding the giraffe horny thingy in her right hand, and kind of patting it with her left hand very slowly, and while I stood there watching her, she fell asleep, and then only woke up at 7:30! What a champion! I hope that she continues to be so good - the wrap that I have is thick and warm, so I want her to be able to sleep unwrapped by the time summer comes. Fingers crossed for me!

Doh!!! It's hard enough to remember what was in the same thread let alone trying to remember when it's a new thread!!

Ali, Oskar fell asleep one night unwrapped so I decided to just leave it and he was fine with it. I was worried though! Sounds like Emi is doing great. How cute with her giraffe! Heart melting A HUGE congrats to Jason!! WTG. Yep, remind yourself that it will get better once he's done studying.

Jo, I gave Oskar some avocado mixed with BM earlier today and he loved it! So that was good cos it's packed with all sorts of good stuff.

Ok.... Oskar's cough. I had a feeling it was more than what the doctor said last Thursday but couldn't get into any other doc on Friday. I thought if he's still coughing Monday I'll try to get him in somewhere. My doc is currently closed cos he's had surgery. Found one who could fit him in. Then the electrician was running late (our hot water system needed replacing) and didn't get here until I was supposed to be leaving. So I rang the doc and they said I'd have to rebook for today and I said... NO!! He's 5 months old and has been unwell since last Thursday and I can't get him in anywhere! So they said to come as soon as I could. Turns out he's had bronchialitis (sp). Had to take him to the hospital cos doc said, kinda murphy's law... if I did take him he wouldn't get any worse, if I didn't then it would. Took him up and he did get a bit better... his breathing earlier had been very noisy. They did put him on oxygen for a while cos his levels were low. We left there at midnight!! They didn't have any room to admit him anyway and said we could travel over an hour to another hospital! I think not! He slept with me and is doing a LOT better today. Didn't want food yesterday but today he ate some. So, we've had some fun for a few days but all on the mend now.

Thanks Caro... I was really mad at the first doc... cos I just knew it wasn't what he said. I know I keep thinking that there's been an error somewhere and we've skipped time...lol!!

Sarah, it's horrible huh... I keep checking on his breathing to make sure he's not having probs. He's slept with me the past two nights and Andy has been in the spare room. Seems to be a lot better but now he's got yellowish tinge to his snot... mmmm gross! I think he's on the mend though which is the main thing.

Rachel, let us know what you think cos I seriously want to see that movie!

Cass how is Oskar today? Glad you were able to get a second opinion. Claire has lots of snot too, lol, its just pouring out of her nose and then it goes all dry and crusty on her lip and nostrils!!! hahah

Sarah, this is the house of no sleep here! She woke up the other night at 3am and decided it was time to play with my hair and nose, so she was pulling my hair and touching my nose. She has done that a couple of times now. I always laugh when the ladies at mothers group complain about their baby "only sleeping from 10pm to 7am and two two hours naps during the day". I would LOVE if Claire slept like that!! Having said that, she will have the occasional day where she has good naps but she certainly doesnt sleep all night.

Rachel, how was the movie? The ads look funny. I havent been to see a movie in seriously about 3 years!

Ali, woohoo on Emys fantastic sleep! We're no longer wrapping Claire as she just struggles to get out of it as soon as we wrap her. She likes to spread her arms and legs when she sleeps. How cute how she was holding onto her giraffe... which reminds me, omg we got given like 5 giraffes! Is this the new baby toy rather than bears?! Claire sleeps with a toy during the day and I think it does help sometimes. Her sleeping toy is a cloth book. When I check on her she is usually on her tummy using the book as a pillow and clutching the book.

I have decided it is time to get a new car. Not a new one, a second hand one, but NEW to me. I am spending way too much in repairs on my current car so I'm just going to get it fixed, then before it has another problem, I'll trade it in for something else and someone else can deal with its problems (evil, i know, but I cant afford to be paying hundreds every few months for silly repairs in addition to service costs). I saw a beautiful Corolla at a Toyota dealer and I want it!!! I need to test drive it first obviously, and I cant do it on my own as there is no where for Claire to sit in it at the moment. They better not sell it before I can get there! I'm so excited about the possibility of new car! Hoping I can get a decent amount for trading my current car.

Woohoo I just sold my fridge! Its good because now I have some more room in my kitchen because I dont have two fridges in there now. The guy who bought it has a little 10 month old boy and he so cute!

Hi Karina, he seems to be doing a lot better. Still has a hacky cough but seems a lot happier again. Problem was he was still happy before cos he's just abnormally happy...lol... but if you knew him then you knew he wasn't as happy. WOOHOO on the car thing. It's not evil, we're actually considering the same thing ourselves. We only got my car just before Oskar was born, but have spent too much money on it and there's still more to do. I hope they still have the car for you to test drive. I like the newer Corolla's... they look cool.

Cass - Oh, I hope Oskar is feeling better! Poor little darling.

Ali - The physio told me not to have Nic in the Jolly Jumper for more than 15 mins at a time, and the chiro said the same. I was not keen on it either, until I put Nic in it at my sisters and he just loved it, so I ended up borrowing hers once her bub had finished with it! I am glad I did as he loves being upright (he has reflux) and is happy in there bouncing away. So cute with the Giraffe too!

Karina - good luck, I hope the car you want is still there when you get time to drive it! How exciting!

Hi everyone else, gotta go, have an assignment to do!

Cass, thats great Oskar is a bit better. So sad to see our little ones not well. Our car has been serviced just 2 weeks ago and its now virtually undriveable! It stalls every time we are stopped at lights and it then takes a few attempts to start it again. I reckon there is a problem with the computer in the car. Hopefully we can both have nice good reliable cars soon! DH cant drive it so he has to catch the bus to work, which is a pain because its 3 seperate buses as theres no direct bus!

Caro sorry to hear you are having such a tough time and no you dont sound like you're mking excuses. Hope you are all feeling better very soon nd that Michael hasnt caught anything nasty. Yay for your booby milk being so powerful! Is that the right word, lol? Woohoo on Michaels weight! Thats great. Claires 6.5 kg! Hope you can get all your stuff pcked up. Is there anyone who can come help you? Or are you like me and you hate people going through your stuff?!

Question to those who have got a Jolly Jumper, Jump jump or something similar: I've seen them around but it looks like you have to attach it to a door frame. Claire loves bouncing but I cant bounce her for very long, so I'd like to try getting one. Problem is that we havent got any door frames for it! So, does anyone know if theres some way you can attach it on a hook on the wall over the door, or can you get a special frame to hang it from? I think she would really love one.

Hi all just a quick post.

Cass - hope oskar continues to get better
Caro - know just what you mean we have all been struck down over nad over again, it's so frustrating
Karina - yes they come with a hook you can screw into the overhead beam or you can buy a stand. I would like to get the stand but it cost quite a bit.

Gotta run, am doing the flylady babystep - have to go shine my sink and have a book on aspergers to read up on for DS his appoint is on the 28th

    Hello!

Grrrrr....so annoyed! Found out yesterday, that we can't get broadband afterall, because stupid Telstra are being stingy, and don't have enough ports for the area and aren't going to put any more in. HOW RUDE!!!!

And even dumber - we live in Springfield Lakes, which is a relatively new area, and are building more estates around us, so LOTS more houses going in, and so lots of people will want broadband, and won't be able to get it! Telstra really annoy me....

ANd even more annoying! We need to replace the ENTIRE engine in J's car. OK, so we already knew that we Dad gave it to us 2 years ago, but J has been trying to get as much as he can from the engine in there now, but why did it have to die now? Just when we were thinking about looking at buying a house? Doesn't the stupid car know that I need my money, and don't want to spend it all on a new engine? At least we can save some money by Dad and J putting the engine in themselves...it pays to have handy men around sometimes...

Good news - Emy is a champion! We didn't wrap her againg last night, and she slept from about 7:30/8ish until she woke up at 4:30, and I just popped her dummy back in, and off she went again. When J left at 6, he told me that she was still a little grizzly, but he jsut gave her the dummy, and that settled her. Then she woke me up at 8:30, and I found her on her tummy, and had pushed herself about 20-30cm up the bed! She wasn't very happy though... was crying her head off...poor thing...

She is still doing well with her food - tried her with banana today, and all of her other foods have been pureed, but i just smooshed the banana with a fork and added formula, so it was a bit lumpier than other foods, and she pulled the funniest face! It was really hilarious!

Mmmm... when Emy had a nap this morning, I decided to make something fun, so I made Neapolitan Cupcakes, what we used to call Rainbow cake, with the chocolate, pink and white cake, and then I put chocolate, pink and white icing on top in stripes just like you would find neapolitan icecream, and they look really good! I have made cakes before (was never very good at icing them tho!), and muffins, but had never tried cupcakes, so i am very proud of my efforts! But then, by the time they were finished, I had licked so many spoons and bowls, i felt a bit ill, and couldn't even try one, but J and a friend who came over reckon that they are yummy, so YAY! The real test will be tomorrow when mum comes over tho - she is a really good cake maker (even did our wedding cake, and it looked professionally done), so she will be the best judge! ANyway, I figure that i had better start to practice making cakes, so that I can make something good for Emy's 1st birthday - even tho I have 6 months to go!

Cass - I can't believe you have to get a new car! I remember that we got ours at the same time (did you get a magna?), and ours is great! Just need to replace the side seat belts in the back soz the don't really retract, and the carpet has come a little bit loose, but other than that, it is all good!

Anyhoo, its now late, so I really should go to bed...

    Hope you are all good!
    (Or good at it!!!!)

Caro, you're not making excuses. Both you and poor Sarah have had a really rough winter!! You're both still being great mum's and goes to show just how tough we are to still get through when everything is going crappy.

Ali, I sooo hate that. Our hot water system needed replacing last weekend... so didn't want to spend the money we'd saved (for things like that...lol) on it.. wanted to use it for something I WANTED to do around the house. Yup, we did get our cars around the same time. We had to get the roof lining fixed then the ENTIRE cooling system. The shockies need doing and new tyres. Ummm there's other things but it's one of those things you can't remember until it happens AGAIN..lol. I'm just being a baby OMG @ your cupcakes... you made EXACTLY the same ones my friend made the other day. You must have the same recipe thing she got.

Karina, Oskar has a jump jump which you use with the same frame as the Amby hammock... so we already had the frame.

Oskar has really started to cuddle lately, so cute. Throws his little chubby arm around one side and snuggles his head on the other side right into my neck. He's feeling a lot better I think. I feel pretty crappy cos I've got the cold which caused his bronchialitis. All I can say is he's a real little trooper if he felt how I've been feeling and my throat felt like it'd been all cut up. He really barely whinged at all considering. I just can't believe it. Must be off, little man is hungry.

Hi all....just want to say that 'Hairspray' was fantastic! I want to see it again and again and again. highly recommend seeing this one ladies, it's a good laugh. Grace liked it too!

Grace has been chomping on everything...gave her a rusk yesterday and she demolished it! Seriously think she is teething...red cheeks, pulling at her ears, funny poo's. She is also doing really well at sitting upright on her own, only has the occasional topple now, she loves being upright. She decided to start the day at 5.45am this morning so i am pretty tired. having mother's group here tomorrow so i have been cleaning and preparing etc so now i am pooped. having said that i should head off to bed now.

Cass- hope oskar starts to improve for you soon, poor little monkey.
