Jacinta giggled properly for the first time today!
A question for you guys Do your babies sleep in a cot bassinet or your bed? in their own room or yours? and if you moved them how old were they ebfore they slep in their oown rooms and you say just used a monitor or listened out for them
I dont knwo if its just becasue I am overtired atm but every little sounds that Will is making of a night is driving me mad and last night was the first time I have gotten really frustrated with him poor little buggar is actually asleep but truffles snuffles grunts and sighs while he is soort of dreaming. Between he and hubby snoring I am whacked. He does have periods of deep sleep of course and he is just doing baby stuiff but I am caught between wanting sleep and my need to have him close by and to be able to see that little light on the monitor flicker to tell me he is breathing ( stupid I know if I can hear him he is breathing ) Any suggestions ?
Aybody else still waiting for their birth certificates for bub?

Morning girls,
A few unsettled times with DJ last night and this morning just couldn't get him to sleep arghhhh so a little tired today - will make sure I get some rest later
Bron - yeah I am excited about mothers day - keep trying to remind hubby that mothers day is coming up so hoping he will organise something for me. Maybe I should just remind him what I went through to get his little son born haha and DJ sleeps in his bassinette/pram in our bedroom now, but sometimes we have him in his room with the monitor on. Don't worry DJ grunts in his sleep as well so it wakes me up as well......
Prama- sounds like reflexology went welllittle fess nose drops are working well, it clears up his blocked nose. When we see the paed in a few weeks time I am going to ask him about his blocked nose, because I feel like it is blocked everyday. I thought it was just because it is getting cold and I always make sure he is really warm too so he doesn't even feel the cold. I am wondering if he has an allergy or sinus problems..... Hubby gets sinus problems and my nephew and niece had an operation on their nose because of sinus problems. Might call my sis-in-law to find out what it was.....
Danni - that is soooo cute, DJ is gurgling and I think it is giggling as well, but not sure. He smiles alot more now.
Thank god for Friday, it means hubby will be home for the weekend pheww. More time for me to relax and get some rest over the weekend. He is going to help me clean the house tomorrow for bbq on Sunday. He has invited friends over for bbq lunch for his birthday. So it will be nice, just make sure I have all plastic plates etc to save me any washing up kehehee
Looks like a nice day outside, think I will go for a walk with DJ today.

Well girls
Bron, Summer is in a cot in our room she grew out of her basinette by week 4, she is the only bub i have ever had in our room for longer than 1 night as every sound would wake me up. Even though i have no choice as we don't have anywhere else for her to sleep i am loving every second, sometimes she grunts etc but it hasn't bothered me this time for some reason. I would put Will in his room as you need your sleep otherwise you will be grumpy (well i would be). Summer gets very warm even if it is pretty cool, she is wearing a footless jumpsuit with socks on and she is toasty warm if we go out i usually just have a warm blankie over her unless it is really cold out i will put a beanie and cardie, most babies prefer being cooler rather than too hot well my babies anyway... Its so confusing being a mummy sometimes, way too many things to think about hey?
Shell, i think because babies only breathe through their noses they seem like their nose is always blocked. Summer gets little boogers up there and that makes her snuffley but once i get it out she is usually better. If you look up their nose its a pretty small hole, no wonder it sounds hard to breathe sometimes. I would hate having to breathe through my nose only poor bubbas. Try the spray Prama uses might help.
I'm off to the gym, back later xoxox
Bron I agree with you I like babies to look like babies especially as Paddy will probably be my last. At night I dress him in AIO's long or short sleeves depending on the weather. I just put a light wrap over him in the hammock or if it's really cold in a sleeping bag. They're great if they get up a lot on cold nights. I'm using a night nappy most nights now so I don't have to worry about changing him or any leaks. He likes to wee!!! As for other clothes I like to layer because in WA it can be cold in the morning but by lunch time it's hot. Yesterday he was wearing a long sleeved AIO with no legs IYKWIM and some leggins over the top. I got some really cute ones from Big W. They sell Osh Kosh ones and they're so cute. The feet fold over to become bootees. Then when I had to take him out last night I just added a cardie and he was as warm as toast.
Can't remember who asked but the reason I don't soak nappies anymore is coz you don't have to. The recommendations with the MCN is to dry pail them, prerinse and then wash with half as much detergent as you would use. The prerinse get rid of the wee. Sometimes I add canesten rinse to keep them smelling fresh but the sun usually does that.![]()
What happened to our gallerys? Did I miss something
Bron - i'm exactly like you, Lakshman sleeps in his bassinet next to me and between him making noises and Steve snoring I get very little sleep. I'm a bit better with the noises, or maybe im so tired, i sleep through most of them now but he still has a blocked nose so his breathing's loud. and quite often im so fast asleep, i suddenly jump out of bed to check if he's ok and his sheets arent covering his face. im going to keep him in his bassinet till his 6mths and then move him to his cot (which Steve hasnt started building yet.) I dont think i'll ever sleep if he's in another room at this stage. When they are 6mths are SIDS risk free, so I'll feel better than.
I get worried abt if he;s too warm or too cold. He sleeps in pajama suit or cotton AIO/bodysuit, then in a wrap and a sheet and cellular blankie over him. for a while i didnt turn on my electric blankie cos he didnt have one and i didnt want to be warm and toasty while he might be cold. then steve pointed when we were changing his nappy in the middle of the night that his scrotum was shrunken so he's nice and warm!! so now i have my electric blankie on!!
yup, babies need to look like babies, i dont even like the smart a$$ t-shirts that sound rude. boys look so cute in overalls, i got a couple already for when he's older!
shell - glad dj is feeling better!
trina - way to go! enjoy gym..
This morning i had this very very scary dream. i was asleep and i heard a sound like his mobile music thing being turned, but dh was already out of bed. and then it was just like i was in bed, and there was this black creature trying to grab lakshman and i was trying to get up and it was covering my mouth and holding me back. i managed to scream for dh but nothing would come out. i then saw him open the bedroom and then he said there's nothing wrong. all this was very real, like how i was asleep a moment ago. i tried to wake up but each time i did, i was waking up in my dream. and the creature was there. it was very nightmare on elm street.
i finally managed to wake up and poopy was fast asleep and mobile was quiet, but he had his arms in wrap but up and covering his nose and mouth, but he was ok. it was very scary!
DH is home today, he's got a cold and ive got all the symptoms so we both feel like crap. i hope poopy doesnt get it.
we just got back fr the doctor's, poopy's milk spots became a rash, and i suddenly got scared, cos i have lupus and i was afraid he might have got it too. but doc said it shouldnt effect babies this young and will treat it as excema. and as long as im still breastfeeding some feeds he should be getting some antibodies to fight the cold. im so glad i hadnt stopped 100%.
poopy's feed time.
oh yes.. no birth cert yet.. 8 weeks it takes
