What happened to our gallerys? Did I miss something
Bron - i'm exactly like you, Lakshman sleeps in his bassinet next to me and between him making noises and Steve snoring I get very little sleep. I'm a bit better with the noises, or maybe im so tired, i sleep through most of them now but he still has a blocked nose so his breathing's loud. and quite often im so fast asleep, i suddenly jump out of bed to check if he's ok and his sheets arent covering his face. im going to keep him in his bassinet till his 6mths and then move him to his cot (which Steve hasnt started building yet.) I dont think i'll ever sleep if he's in another room at this stage. When they are 6mths are SIDS risk free, so I'll feel better than.
I get worried abt if he;s too warm or too cold. He sleeps in pajama suit or cotton AIO/bodysuit, then in a wrap and a sheet and cellular blankie over him. for a while i didnt turn on my electric blankie cos he didnt have one and i didnt want to be warm and toasty while he might be cold. then steve pointed when we were changing his nappy in the middle of the night that his scrotum was shrunken so he's nice and warm!! so now i have my electric blankie on!!
yup, babies need to look like babies, i dont even like the smart a$$ t-shirts that sound rude. boys look so cute in overalls, i got a couple already for when he's older!
shell - glad dj is feeling better!
trina - way to go! enjoy gym..
This morning i had this very very scary dream. i was asleep and i heard a sound like his mobile music thing being turned, but dh was already out of bed. and then it was just like i was in bed, and there was this black creature trying to grab lakshman and i was trying to get up and it was covering my mouth and holding me back. i managed to scream for dh but nothing would come out. i then saw him open the bedroom and then he said there's nothing wrong. all this was very real, like how i was asleep a moment ago. i tried to wake up but each time i did, i was waking up in my dream. and the creature was there. it was very nightmare on elm street.
i finally managed to wake up and poopy was fast asleep and mobile was quiet, but he had his arms in wrap but up and covering his nose and mouth, but he was ok. it was very scary!
DH is home today, he's got a cold and ive got all the symptoms so we both feel like crap. i hope poopy doesnt get it.
we just got back fr the doctor's, poopy's milk spots became a rash, and i suddenly got scared, cos i have lupus and i was afraid he might have got it too. but doc said it shouldnt effect babies this young and will treat it as excema. and as long as im still breastfeeding some feeds he should be getting some antibodies to fight the cold. im so glad i hadnt stopped 100%.
poopy's feed time.
oh yes.. no birth cert yet.. 8 weeks it takes
wow what an essay - they did some upgrade to the forums, so dunno what happen to the galleries!
ohh i forgot to say, poopy's long sleeps at night are ending i t hink. he's been waking up earlier and earlier and he woke up at 3 this morning! oh well.. it was good while it lasted
Jazz woke at 3 this morning also, but she did go to sleep at 9:30 and I went to bed at the same time although I didn't fall asleep till about 11ish. I feel like a mean mummy today. Jazz had her checkup and injections. I felt terrible when she screamed with the needles. I gave her a huge cuddle but then she had to have another needle in the other leg and screamed again! But now she's sleeping so I should turn off the laptop and do some stuff around the house. She doesn't normally sleep in the day anymore so I should make the most of it.
Jazz still sleeps in her bassinet in our room and with her noises and DH's chainsaw like snoring I don't get a lot of sleep, but if DH isn't snoring and Jazz is then I find her noises a comfort. I would like to get her into the cot soon but am not going to do that until I buy a monitor. We will have to keep her door shut when she goes into her own room because I don't want to lock the cat up all night. Speaking of cats, Sultan jumped onto the change table this morning while I was dressing Jazz. Thankfully I was there coz he almost landed right on top of her. He'd been smooching around my legs and wanted attention. Because he wasn't getting it he just wanted to jump up and be in my face! He got a smack!
Prama - that is a very scary dream indeedat least it was just a dream. I had a bad dream when I first had DJ and it was very scary and took me a few days to get over and forget. Just remember it was just a dream and don't read too much into it. If anything it just interprets as you are being the best mum to little Lakshman. I think worrying alot is just part of being a mother.
Trina - yeah using the Little Fess drops which work well.
As for what I dress DJ in, depends but mostly his all-in-one suits, they seem to work best. If we are heading out and it is a cold day I will put a beanie on his head or extra blankets in his bassinette/pram to keep him warm.
Well girls, better go and get ready for my friend coming over for dinner. Doni is out at an Audi car launch thing so just a girls night with DJ![]()

Wow Trina she grew out of it a 4 weeks..I think WIll has a ways to go yet. I am not ready to put him inthe big cot yet he still looks so little. Have been thiking about putting his bassinett in there tonight all day and just dont know if I am ready no sleep or not *L* big sook I am I do like knowing he is there. WIll try and get him to bed bait earlier tonight as its when he is in a light sleep he makes so many noises.
Prama how scary for you I hate it when dream has a unsettling effect.
Trina good for you on the gym...my lazy bum feels like I have had a workout after I have hung 2 loads of washing on the line *L*
Will and I are on our own tonight hubby has gone out to play pool he hasnt done for ages but he realy needs some time for him too He is so good at home I like for him to able to do stuff he likes too. He'll be home by midnight and snore nice and loud no doubt *L*
OK am off to get myself some dinner
Bron xx
Trina- Go you with the gym thing, I'm thinking about joining but some days I can barely lift my head let alone weights so I might wait until Noah is sleeping better!
Bron- Noah sleeps in our room in his bassinet but is a very quiet sleeper so he doesn't tend to keep me awake and thatnkfully DH isn't a snorer so we are all quite lucky in the sleep department atm. Having said that,. Noah is a really long baby and has almost outgrown his bassninet so I think once he does, he will sleep in his room in his cot.
I was also interested in what people are dressing bubs in to sleep. Last night Noah decided that he didn't want to be wrapped up anymore so my DH just tucked the blankets around him in his bassinet but he wriggled his arms out and when i picked him up for his 5am feed, his arms were like ice, it freaked me out! So any suggestions on how to keep him warm would be appreciated!
Must go now and cook dinner, hubby will be home from work soon! Enjoy the weekend ladies!
*Paula*
Bron yeah she grew out of it quick, her feet were down the end of the mattress in no time, and a few times she rolled off and was right up against the side of the bassinett I could have got a bigger mattress but thought i may aswell put her in the cot and save the extra expense. She found the transition fine cos she was so little too.
Well went to the gym but have been so hungry today that it kinda defeated the purpose hehe oh well, it actually gives me more energy and makes me feel like i can cope with everything better most of the time that is.
Summer had her needles today poor little baby, Tahnie was a bit worried hearing her crying so hard which she never does. She didn't even get a little bandaid so she had blood all over one leg.
Prama hope you and Steve feel better xo
Summer goes to bed pretty early, i can't keep her up any later than 8.30 she is usually ready by 6.30 and i try to keep her up and she usually goes at 7.30. A few times Summer has wriggled down under her covers, i only have a sheet and light blankie but still she didn't like it too much, she hates things around her face/head anyway let alone the whole thing completely covered.
DH is at some black tie thing in Sydney tonight, I didn't get an invite, not that i would have gone but still, he's wine'ing and dine'ing and staying at the Casino while we had Macca's. I swear we have two completely different lives sometimes.
I'm off to read a Mag in bed, enjoy your night gals xox
Danni, when i am feeding Summer my cat jumps up on my lap, steps on Summers hip and jumps on the back of the couch and watches us, it's pretty funny, he knows not to go near her cot cos he did it once and got a smack and now doesn't go near it. Him and the dog both sit next to summer when she is in her rocker kinda like they are guarding her.
