It's been quiet in here....how is everyone going? how are all the bubs?
Kristale, I think I will check out that pram fit....soooo need to lose a few kilos!
Joshua has become very interested in me eating, so we sit him in his pram at the table with us when we have dinner and he has a sippy cup and a spoon. Mostly he just gags on the spoon though...hehe....we're going to start solids next month.
sorry I've been AWOL for the last few weeks- just haven't seemed to have enough time in the day. Been so busy with baby & xmas card orders that it seems to be the only thing I've had time for when I get to the compouter.
Have managed to hover in every now and then but not enough to keep up with everyones goss.
How exciting on everyones (bubs) weight gains. Macey is still only a little thing and at last weigh in (5mo) she was 5750g so I;m really hoping that she'll be over the 6kg mark by 6mo. Complete opposite of her brother who was chubba by this age. Shes happy & healthy enough though so can't complain. has also meant that I've managed to get longer out of her 000 clothes as she's really only just started going into 00's this week. Might try to pop into MHC tomorrow and put her on the scales.
She is doing 360 spins on the floor now and is rolling 1/2 way over from back to belly- just hasn't quite got enough momentum to get all the way over. A friemd also lent us a Bumbo today for macey to use and she loves it already. She gets really clingy to me round late arvo and crys as soon as she can't see me so at least now I can sit her in it in the kitchen while I'm cooking tea.
To try and boost her weight, I've started her on solids last week (anyone else on solids yet??) Shes definitely ready and is already chewing food really well. I have been giving her Farax with EBM and tonight also added a little bit of pureed apple which she loved. Seems to really help settle her over the grumpy tea time period.
We have Macey's christening on this Sunday which Ilm really looking forward to. Kristale: I checked out Amelie's pics on FB- she looked soooo cute!
Macey will be wearing her great Aunts gown which I am really looking forward to. We're trying to keep it as small as we can but still looks like we'll have at least 20 adults for lunch.
Glad to hear all the bubs are doing great. will try and pop back in again soon!
I did a huge post in here this morning, but it hasn't appeared!
Let's see if I remember ...
Emily started solids a week ago. She's having solids mid morning & mid afternoon. She loves them, and really looks for them at those times of day.
She started babblind sounds now. She can say 'ma', 'ba', 'da', and her favourite, 'mmmmba'
She moves a lot on the ground, but isn't interested in rolling or anything. She can do it, has done it a few times already, but is too lazy, lol! I reckon it'll only be a matter of time though.
Hi ..It has been quiet in here hasn't it!!
Beck we have been on solids since 4 months due to reflux. Ava now has solids 3 times a day and eats heaps 120g each meal!! Her repettoire is quite extensive already, she generally has apple mixed with cereal for breakfast, a mixed fruit puree for lunch and vegies for dinner.
She has also started to commando crawl...!! I keep telling her she is too young and that she is most likely my last baby so she needs to slow down!!
On the exercise thing.. I am carrying way too much weight and had joined Curves in July but lately it is so hard to get care for the girls during gym hours that I havent been able to go.. I wish there was a pram fitness class around here.
Hoipe the christenig goes well Beck...
Love and hugs to all xoxox
shez - fantastic that you've joined the gym. I go to Curves as well.I agree it's a PITA that you can't take kiddies, I have to wait till DH gets home from work, and I race out the door to go. But it's worth it. I've dropped another dress size this month
And a big woohoo for the commando crawling!
Amelie also so started solids last week and is definatley ready now she loves it and opens her mouth right up when she seee the spoon,
Goodluck with the christening Beck we had over 30 so it was pretty busy.
Shez I found I website that lists pram excercise classes all over aus it is
babybuggy.com.au/pram-exercise-mum-n-bub
I dont know if they are as good as my class but it is worth a try or a call. Also wow on Ava, Amelie is a pretty lazy baby and not much sign of movement yet!
Bek - WTG on the rolling and spins...All the best for the christening, what a nice tradition to be able to have Macey wear her great Aunts gown!!
Jodi - how cute of Emily with the new sounds! Joshua is still enjoying his squeals and I think he finds it fun to see how loud he can do it!
Shez - wow commando crawling already! Sounds like you've got a mover there.
Josh is still happy to lay on his back, kicking and waving his arms and legs. This morning I found him up the other end of his cot. He is a really fidgety sleeper. We had a weigh in yesterday and he's now 6.26kg, still on the small side but back on the right track and doing so much better than before.
He has also found his feet and loves to sit in his swing or pram and just stare at them and he loves to grab at them if I sit him up in my lap or when I'm trying to change his nappy!
We haven't started solids yet although I've been thinking about it heaps. He has a sippy cup which he just really plays with atm and a spoon and sits in his pram at the table with us when we eat our dinner. My CHN suggested I give him some cooled boiled water on the spoon to get him used to the movement/handling etc and so tried that last night. The look on his face was priceless!
On the exercise, I really, really need to get back into it because the kilos are creeping back on. I put on 9kg during pregnancy, lost 7kg immediately after the birth and have now put 5kg back on again. I'm only 2kg off from what I weighed when Josh was born
we have started on solids aswell, i wanted to wait till 6 months but Jack was ready and hes loving it, hes such a little piggy!!
hes rolling heaps now thats his way off getting around!! and he loves his feet too which is soooo cute but quiet annoying on the change table when trying to get a nappy on lol
WTG Ava!!! i was looking at Jacks newborn pics the other day and realised just how much hes actually grown and im like aww no slow down its going too quick!!
i really need to get fit and loose some weight, have been going for walks and meeting up with a friend and we take the kids to the park but now that its maggie season im so scared me and the kids will get swooped!! im such a wouse! but queit scary though as a little girl in my area a few weeks ago got badly attacked and has lost sight in one of her eyes
Beckstar - hope the christening goes well on sunday.
Blanche - WTG Jack on all the rolling! It is going quick isn't it?
Well after nearly 6 months, I have finally posted my birth story...it's a bit long...I wrote it the week after I came home from hospital and it had me all teary again just now re-reading it. I miss everything about being pregnant and having a newborn already!!
hi all, it has been quiet, great to see everyone is back and all the bubs are doing well.
beckstar - you sound inundated with work, hope you manage a few breaks. hope the christening goes well.
blanche - last time i read jack wasn't rolling, great work its amazing how quick they pick things up isn't it.
laranna - great weight gain again josh, and the feet thing is cute hey, they amaze themselves
kristale - thanks for the website will have to check it out, how often do you do it?
shez - wow commando crawling already she'll be walking in no time, growing up so fast aren't they!
jodi - wooohoo for losing a dress size and for emily talking, both great milestones
jo is getting about rolling now too, he woke up on saturday with this look in his eye, now every chance he gets its either sucking on his toes or rolling. we are having major issues with sleeping though he'll sleep good for first couple of hours at night then after he wakes up for first feed he's up every hour even less, seems he just wants to sleep in my arms, any tips would be great, last night i resorted to hum sleeping in bed with me, not something i want to keep doing. he's not good as self settling and has always been put down asleep which i only have myself to blame.
on the weight loss front, i ended up losing about 4kg the other week when I had gastro or whatever it was, ended up having it for about 5 days, it was horrendous, but since then the weight seems to be just falling off, dont recommend losing it that way though.
hi to anyone i have missed and sorry its so short.

Klee - bugger about the gastro you poor thing, I hope you are feeling better now. Yay on the weight loss but yeah gastro isn't the nicest way to lose it!
I settle Josh to sleep in my arms too so I'm afraid I don't have any tips apart from he still seems to go to sleep better if I wrap him. I hope Jo starts sleeping longer soon for you
WOOT!! Joshua just rolled from tummy to back He just stared at me in wonderment as I was jumping up and down cheering for him..lol...he was probably thinking "gee what's she so excited about!?" hehe
woooooooooohooooooooooo on josh rolling, thats so awesome, its so exciting, he's progressing so well Laranna, you must be very proud. the cheer is a great encouragement cause it gives him a reason to keep doing it, keep going josh.
Oh my goodness at all these gorgeous bubs on solids already. I'm still trying to put off for another couple of weeks but am going out tonight with DH in tow to buy a second high chair. Who knows how I'll feel when I have that in the house. Still, part of me is sad that I know I'm watching my last baby grow up so fast and it makes me a bit sad - great that she's developing so quickly and so well but it would be nice to hang on to the teeny tiny baby for a while longer.
Jodi - well done on the loss of a dress size. Is Curves just exercise, or is it a diet plan too? There's one around the corner from me and given that I think its only 30 minutes (?) it could be the way to go. Yay for Emily on babbling away. How gorgeous is it when they start doing that.
Klee - I settle Elena in my arms too - almost always. She used to go to bed wide awake and go off to sleep but that changed when she got sick. TBH its too hard at the moment to try to get her back to that. Izzy can't be left for as long as it will take for me to spend with Elena. Its actually working fine for us at the moment, although there are definitely times when I would love to just say hey, bedtime, and off she goes. Don't worry too much though - I did the same with Izzy and she is an amazing sleeper now.
Laranna - lovely birth story.
I think I'll have to check out that pram exercise class and/or Curves. Kristale - what sort of age are the babies in the class and how long is the class? I would have to take Izzy as well as Elena and I'm a bit concerned that she wouldn't want to stay put in her pram for that long. I really do need to do something though. I went for a walk around the lake the other day and it was soooo hot. Nice to be out though and there were heaps of ducks with their ducklings so Izzy had a great time.
Well, Elena is rolling, crawling and sitting unassisted for a couple of minutes. I can't believe its happened so fast. She is so interested in keeping up with Izzy that I wouldn't be surprised if she is walking even quicker than Iz did.
Anyway, better go. Sorry no personals to everyone so hi to everyone else. Izzy screaming for breakfast!
