Oh no Kim hope you feel better soon.
Today is the first day in a whole month I have not coughed. Unbelievable.
I can't wait to see this little person tomorrow... Or to see how little this little person is or isn't in fact. I was stressing about the size but at the end of the day there is no point in doing so, cause he/she's got to be evicted one way or another.
We have no names... Well Nothing Concrete anyway.
Better get cracking on that. he he
Started packing the all important hossy bag today... Need to get a few things tomorrow. But if something were to happen tonight I have 15 pairs of new grundies and four packets of those wonderful maternity pads, so all is good! LOL I swear I am so less organised this tie around.

Kim you poor chook, hope you start feeling well quickly. Camping in the backyard is a great idea! Darcy is such a cutie LOL

leanne - enjoy seeing your little one! So longas you have the chundies and the pads everything will be fine

For the first time ever in his life Archie is actually choosing Jay over me! I feel a tad rejected, but Im so happy that Arch and his Dad have finally bonded properly.

Well I am barrell of emotions this afternoon

Had my 37 week scan today and our baby is sitting at 4.8kg! Head Circ 36.5. Some measurements could not be taken as they were 'off the scale'. No wonder I feel so tired and over it. I am now booked in for a c/s rather than induction due to possible complications birthing vaginally etc (understandably) but now have to wait another two weeks or so.

I am so nervous about a c/s - anyone who can tell me what to expect during and after and re recovery etc would be most appreciated.

goodness me what a whopper! That is one healthy bub in there, good cooking Leanne!

I have not had a c-section, but in March this year I watched my nephew be born via c-section and it seemed a lot nicer and less scary than I imagined. The theatre staff were so wonderful and caring, bub was out SO quickly, it was great. You will be fine x

Shazz - you will be fine - It must be scary, but I am sure you will do great... You can come and look after me any time...

I need to have a whinge and thought well you ladies know me truly better than my belly buddies so...

Ever since Thursday finding out about the size of our bubba and the need for a c/s (which I am fine with and getting my head around), I have had nothing but advice advice advice (mainly from family) 'why can't they induce you now rather than wait two weeks, 'Katy was born vaginally so why not this one', ' you don't look that big are you sure it is that big', 'why are you choosing a c/s over a natural birth'...... etc etc etc
I know people mean well, but how can I tell people to keep their advice to themselves without hurting their feelings??
My response to all questions have been 'I am just taking the advice of my ob who I am paying all this money for her expertise, and she believes this is what is best for our baby'. TBH I am totally freaking out about how big our bubba is going to be, and actually concerned what might happen one he/she's born cause of the diabetes etc... I don't think people's comments and 'advice' is helping my psyche situation much.

I just want this pg over so we can have our bubba safely home and 'move on from it'

shazz - you are a clever chook, you will be great on your placement, i have no doubt x

leanne - I am thinking of you x I think when people make those comments you should just tell them that you are quite stressed about the whole thing and talking about it all the time doesnt help, but thankyou for your concern. Sorry you are not feeling great about this, not long and all you will have to think about is snuggling your beautiful bubba

I agree with Elissa, they mean well and prob don't realise how stressed they are making yo- maybe get DH to tell them that its upsetting you and making you stressed? I can't wait until you have this bub too! I have decided its a girl (don't ask me how!) We really should meet up in the next school holidays, I would love to meet you and Katy and bubs. Kim needs to come to Sydney and she can be there too. Anyone else planning a trip to sydney??? I would love us all to meet one day, it feels like we know each other so well.
Shazz- you will be fine hun!! How exciting, do you have to go away from home?

Well after today's obs appt I feel so much better.
Need to have bub's heart monitored daily now until our c/s just to make sure that he/she is doing well.
I asked whether we could have the baby like yesterday, and my ob said yes we could have it whenever I like, however there is a risk that bub's lungs are still not developed enough and would prefer to wait until 39 weeks, just to reduce risks. Apparently when you have a c/s if the lungs are underdeveloped the baby might not be able to get all the gunk out. Makes sense. So.... that's what we are doing. Off to the hossy every day for monitoring until bubs is born. Of course if something happens 'naturally' between now and then I will go in for a c/s straight away. Man I am rambling.
Another good thing about today is I got the results back from a blood test I had to have done which is a 6 weeks recording of my BSL's and they were fine.... (well fine in that it was the same as I had been recording)... So I am now at peace knowing that there is nothing more that I could have done to prevent this baby being so big.
And the final good thing about today is that when my obs felt my belly she says, Leanne, by the size if your belly I can't believe it could be such a whopper. Now to me that tells me that (a) I am going to have great abs after this baby is born; or (b) it's not as big as what the u/s says. LOL!
So all in all a good day.
    :O)

    Night all.
    Sorry for the ramble.

Okay ladies just thought I would pop in and update you before bub comes.

I am off to the hossy this afternoon. Baby needs to have steriods for a few days as ob would like to ensure we have done what we can to make sure the lungs are developed.

But.... with the GD and the baby being so 'big' ob also wants me to have my c/s this Friday.
Once the baby is born he/she will no doubt need to spend some time in special care due to sugar issues. I just hope these issues won't be anything like we had with Katy - but time will tell.

So I am being admitted this afternoon to have steriods, bubs heart monitored and also my BSL's monitored. C/S scheduled for some time on Friday morning.

    Will keep you posted.
    Leanne.

oh special girl, you already know I am thinking of you You aren't growing a whopper, it's a healthy baby. My best advice is take the pain relief that is offered, move around as much as you can and feed, feed, feed to get that milk going. Do you want me to come and be the bouncer at the door so not too many visitors?

Yes Christine I will come to Sydney. Might even fly Darcy and I down and stay in town.

    Hi girls!

I just wanted to wish you all the best Leanne! I'm sure everything will be fine with you and bubby! I can't wait to hear the exciting news! Love and light to you hun!x

    Hi everyone else!

I have been extra quiet around here of late. Been busy with Uni etc. I am also about to go on Prac. Only I start on the 28th of Sept. I am sooo looking forward to it. I am getting assessed on stomach palpations next week! Fingers crossed I pass.

Not sure if I've updated you all on our situation. The girls and Brento have moved back to Townsville and I am finishing the year out here in Brisbane. I may come back next year I am not sure. The girls are fine. They are in day-care 2 days a week and Brento is home with them full-time. They are all so very happy to be back up on the farm. I miss the girls more than anything but I know this was the right thing to do. I am flying back up for a visit just before I start prac and then i will be home for the uni break on the 30th of November.

    How is everyone going??

    Good luck for tomorrow Leanne!!!

Its been a sad week here, a boy Jess went to primary school with died on Sunday of bone cancer at 17. He had it in yr 8 but was in remission, then it came back recently and he died very quickly afterwards. The family had moved to Casino a few years ago so Jess and 4 of the boys from her grade have gone up by train for the funeral tomorrow.
Its so so sad, I keep thinking of his poor mum who has lost her precious boy so young, they grow so quickly and to lose one just on the verge of adulthood is devastating (I know loss at any time is terrible )
I was finding myself very teary, then my aunty rang to say my grandma's brother had died too and it just really got me down. I know he was old but cause my mum and my grandma are gone its like another link to them is gone too IYKWIM?
Anyway I am so sorry to moan in here but I just didn't want to post on the general forums cause you guys are my close friends.

    Hi girls!

I just come in to wish Leanne all the best tomorrow! Everything will be fine hun.

Sorry to hear tha Christine. Very sad stuff. I hope that Erin is ok.

I have some very exciting and scary news! A client of mine went into labour yesterday and had her baby very quickly at home. The baby came in a rush and hit the ground, snapping the cord. It was just mum, dad and I. Very special. I have written the story out at 12am lastnight cause I couldnt sleep.

    Oh? What A Catch!

Its 12am. I can?t sleep. My mind is still trying to come to terms with the days events.

I woke this morning and immediately grab my mobile phone so I can send a ?Happy Due Date? text to my client. I don?t expect to hear from her for another few days.

Later on, my phone rings and I see that its my client calling. We chat and she tells me that she is having regular contractions. 4 minutes apart she says. She is unsure if this is the real thing. She contracts while I am on the phone with her. It sounds very promising. I tell her it sounds like it and that she should try and rest. She says she will call me back in a half hour or so or when she needs me.

Half an hour later my phone rings again. Its my clients husband. She feels that she needs me.

I get there and the house is dark and I hear her. She is on the toilet and I go to her. I notice that she looks pale and that her lips are dry. She contracts while I am there. She is doing well. I ask how much she has had to drink and suggest that she might like to try drinking some apple juice.

She tells me that she feels like she wants to go to the hospital. I ask her why? She says for the gas. But your doing so well without it. How about the shower? We agree that the shower might be helpful.

She is in the shower. The contractions are very regular but not lasting that long. I wonder if it might be a while and notice that her belly is still very high. The shower is very helpful and calming for her.

Not long later she says that she needs to poo. I say well do it then. She does and not once did I think that she might be in transition. She requests to go to the hospital again and she leaves the shower. I see that her belly has dropped quite a lot.

Contractions are becoming much more intense and she is telling me that she is feeling something down there. I look but only see lots of mucous. I say that we should probably go. I crouch down to help her with her knickers..

Pop. Her waters explode all over me. Very shortly after I hear a thud and see the baby lying on the floor. I immediately reach for her and pick her up. I lay her face-down across my arms. She cries and relief washes over me. I hold her for a moment more while mum lowers to the ground.

I think about the cord and realise at this point that it has snapped. Fate must have stepped in as the cord snapped right at the point where it would usually be cut. There is no blood oozing or seeping from either ends of the cord. Again, relief.

I tell Dad to get towel. Lots! I place baby against mums chest and wrap them both up. Baby has beautiful colour and is whimpering but quite calm.

I tell Dad to phone the Ambulance. Mum and I both look at each other in amazement. Mum wants to know what sex the baby is. She looks and announces a baby girl.

Ambos arrive and take them all the hospital. I stay to clean the mess! Grateful for a moment to filter what just happened. I am grinning like a Cheshire cat but shaking like a leaf.
    I am still in shock!

    Hope you are all well.
    x

    HI girls......remember me? hehe

Leanne: Just wanted to wish you the very best for the morning! Can't wait to hear the announcement, you will be fine. I read back a little and saw your concerns about visitors, I told everyone I didn't want visitors until I sent a msg saying so...mainly because of the experience I had with Jayden and also I wanted Jayden to meet his baby sister 1st but 1 SIL didn't listen and turned up a couple of hours after Ashlea was born. I hope your friends and family listen to you!

Christine: That is so sad about Jess' friend and your great uncle! Hope you are holding up ok oxox

Shaz: Good luck for your placement, you will do fantastically...you'll wonder what you were worried about!

Sara: WOW! That was an amazing story! Thank you for sharing it brought tears to my eyes! I have fairly easy births but nowhere near that quick and easy!

Hope all are well.....Oh Kim RE 3yr old tantrums?? I have always been able to handle what Jayden throws at me until he turned 3, since then I have questioned myself as a mother so many times its not funny....he is calming a little now but OMG they know how to push your buttons! How is Nate going? Can't believe he is 6mths old already!!

    oxox
