....doesn't whooping cough have a communicable illness status ??? i know i was NOT allowed at uni whats so ever until i had clearance to go back maybe thats just insitutions but still wrong to put other people at risk knowingly thankfully you only have one day left and is it possible to take a sick day your self ..
The department of health has to be notified with WC and they notify your employer etc. Our school had to notify the parents too. Mine wasn't diagnosed until after I was contagiuos so I had unknowingly been woring when contagious but I had been back and forth to the doctors the whole time trying to find out what it was which was frustrating. They are pretty sure I caught it from an undiagnosed child at school.
This particular lady at work has not informed work that she is being tested. I should dobb her in right?
That's what happened to me Christine... I was diagnosed with upper respiratory tract infection by a medical centre doctor and was not diagnosed properly until three weeks after it all began.... from my GP... Last time I go to a medical centre that's for sure. Luckily in my first week of what I now suspect was WC (my birthday week :O( ) I was home sick cause I was too ill to do anything....
ONE DAY LEFT....
I just feel for my friends at work - esp, my best bud who is trying to have a bub. Needless to say she is off to the drs to get her immunisation up to date ASAP.

Hay guess what My FIL had a fight with a circular saw today... I don't know the full details yet but apparently there are missing digits or parts thereof on his left hand.... far out.
If she is positve the Department of health will call your employer!
Your poor FIL! YUK! DH had a fight with a piece of woodworking equipment years ago and stillhas nerve and tissue damage on some of his fingers.
Riley has been whingy and off the last few days and this afternoon I noticed he had conjunctivitis so no work for me tomorrow, it took me about 10 phone calls to get a casual teacher which was a pain.
Well ladies not long now... I am off to have an u/s next Thursday and have a gut feeling that my ob will induce me the following Monday.... which means that I could be holding our bubba in just 10 or so days...! Wow!
I am soi excited for you Leanne, cant wait to hear who is in there and what you name him/her!!! its such a surreal feeling when you know that in a matter of days bub will be out

A wedding exactly where you feel like being....not! I went to a wedding 10days before Darcy was born ...too many similarities between you and me...
Tell me everybody else's 3 and a bit year old is pushing their buttons and tantruming +++....please. She's about to do my head in.
On the flip side though. We've started piano lessons and man she just absorbs everything! She loves it.
Oh yes Kim Katy's definately pushing my buttons alright. More pooh in the bath tonight. Grrrrr.... Needless to say she was not impressed when I told her she was going straight to bed without her usual book reading, music, strawberry milk and happy cuddles from mummy.

Tomorrow' wedding is at a seafood reception place and there is going to be plenty of wine. Should I or shouldnt I?!

Riley loses it the moment things don't go his way atm. He STILL isn't TT and really couldn't care, he has happily told me he weed after he did in his nappy and the other day he had no nappy on and was watching TV so he weed on a towel which was on the floor! When I asked why he didn't go to the toilet he replied that he was watching TV!!! He is such a bloke LOL
So many people want to 'meet up' either for coffee or lunch this week or before the baby is born. Now this is the last thing I feel like doing. I can barely move in and out of the car, let alone get dolled up for vistors etc... Do people think that once the baby is here I am not going to have a social life? And some of these people have never worried about coffee or lunch etc before so why now? Is there something wrong with me?
And also what are people's thoughts on being bombarded by visitors right after bubs is born? Does this frustrate anyone? Our miss Kaitlyn was born at 8am and from about 9am through to 8pm we had constant visitors..... I remember feeling exhausted and down, and am worried about this happening again. Do you think it is rude to either: (a) not tell people that the baby has arrived or; (b) tell people not to visit? Or is this also being selfish?
I suffered PND last time, and I guess I am trying to 'avoid' some of the things that may have assisted... I am really nervous about PND in general actually.
I was talking to my mother about it and about asking people not to visit until day 2 and although she did not say it I got the feeling she thought I was being rude.
I would never dream of visiting someone with a new baby until at least day 2 or 3 unless they were immediate family. (or they had specifically asked me to)
I would never stop mum and dad and my ILs from visiting straight away but then again I have really understanding and thoughtful relatives!
Maybe use katy as an excuse, say that she needs the first day or whatever to bond with her new sibling and you need to spend time as a family until then. I always find visitors in hospital easier than at home though.
As for this week I would just say "sorry, too pg need to rest!"

You could always come out here and have the bub I had a lovely stay in hossy with only a few visitors.
Darcy met Nate first after He was born which was just lovely. Then he and I had some fantstic time just the two of us.
I'm with Christine, I would never expect to visit the first couple of days, but we all know people who expect to be there first!
Maybe you could send a text out saying Announcing the birth of........wieght etc. We can't wait for you to meet (bub) but we're sure you'll understand that we'd love to spend some special time as our new little family first.
Just a thought.
Christine - Arch has no interest in getting out of nappies any time soon either. Every now nad again he will take the nappy off and wee in the garden, but at the mention of undies he cracks, "no mum, Im just a little boy!"
leanne - you are not being rude! Tell the midwives that you dont want visitors and they will keep them out. I think Kims message idea is a great thing too
I havent seen Archie today, I miss him heaps, but i slept in til 2pm today!!!! Can you believe that!
lol Elissa, get some sleep for me too please...Nate wakes up at least 8 times a night.....I am ratpoo. plus I have a terrible cough and pharyngitis. Darcy's so funny everytime I lose my voice - she whispers too.
Today she cracked it because I am seriously too ill to go anywhere let alone take her to her piano lesson today. We're going camping in the backyard tomorrow - hoping she'll let me just lay down....
