Just a quick one from me. We're the Plague House unfortunately. Everybody has a cold to a varying degree and poor Elena is really suffering badly. Poor baby has such a snotty nose and can barely breath while she's feeding. If anyone has any great remedies that can be used with newborns, I'd love to hear them. In the meantime, I'll just feel sorry for myself that I feel so bad and nobody is looking after me because my Mum has a lunch with friends - how rude and inconsiderate that she should have a life that doesn't revolve around me

Oh no Lulu, sucks seeing them struggle. The only thing I think you can really use is saline drops and nasal aspirator. Sounds gross, but the Dr has also told me that sucking it out yourself works well. I can't do that though - poor bub would wear my vomit all over them!! If you have a strong stomach - suck away

Oh just had a thought - do you have a vaporiser?? God send for snuffy noses and coughs. Having asthma myself, really helps with breathing!

Lulu the nasal aspirators are good and may help Elena to feed better. Good luck and I hope that the plague leaves you all very very soon.

Shell glad you guys are all feeling better! And yep probably a good idea to let Angus fully recover before his needles!

Quiet in here, hope everyone is well! I'm at work so better get back to it I suppose, hhhhmmm maybe after a coffee first! Have a lovely day all.

Lulu - I'd definitely try a vapouriser in Elena's room - I haven't used one myself but a few friends of mine found them fantastic. Good luck.

We've got the sniffles over here too. I can't seem to shake a nasty cough (and seem to have lots of flem - yuck)!! LUke's got a terribly runny nose and little cough too. He seems happy enough though!!

Must go, my monkey is ready for a sleep already!!

Lulu - colds suck. I agree - I have used a vaporiser in her rooma nd then wherever we are during the day and it definately helps them breathe easier. I used the drops about 5 mins before a feed, to try and loosen all the mucous but it never worked that well!

I have to work later so not much time sorry - to all! Shell that is weird about your ticker hun!!!!

Hey guys, sorry to hear everyone is not well. Mason has yet another ear infection and a cold too. It is never ending! We still cant get rid of his loose stools either....even though he is on soy milk now!

Lulu, definitely get the fess stuff for elenas nose. It will help get all the mucous out so she can breathe and feed easier. How is the breastfeeding going? I hope its going really well for you

Mason and I are no longer breastfeeding. I was admitted to hospital a couple of weeks ago and they gave me drugs that are not compatible. Im a bit disappointed but he couldn't care less!

    Hi guys

First and foremost, ANGUS your KK is VERY VERY VERY sorry he has not sent you your present yet - it will be on your doorstep tomorrow in an express post satchel.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE BABIES I'VE MISSED. That means everyone is 1 now, right? Sorry for the vagueness, if we still have more to go feel free to slap me.

Blake had his grommets in, tonsils and adenoids taken out on Monday. The operation went well and was a success, until he started losing too much blood in recovery from his throat and had to go under another anasthetic to invesigate. He coughed as he was waking up, and popped a blood vessel. He lost a considerable amount of blood and swallowed alot too, having his stomach pumped to remove what they could plus what he lost out of his mouth and nose. The stopped the bleeding from the vessell, but he took about an hour to come out of the second general which was worrying. Because of the blood loss, they had to keep an eye on his haemoglobin levels, they were low but not low enough to need a transfusion which was on the cards at one stage.

He is slowly coming out of it - he is hardly eating or drinking, is a VERY drowsy little man and falls asleep often, but never sleeping longer than an hour at a time due to the pain. I am an absolute MESS and am lucky to have my mum looking after him while I work, although it is so so hard not being with him. All he wants is me and Dave (he smiled and waved at Dave as soon as he saw him, even before me or his father), and he slept in his arms from 3-7am this morning. I don't know what I'd do without Dave (even though some pretty crap things have happened, that's another story though), he has been my rock.

So sorry for the selfish post, but I just wanted to update on my poor little guy

Good to hear from you Ash, I hope that little Blake is improving and back to his normal self soon. I hope that things are getting better with Dave too, you guys have been through a rough patch and I wish I could give you hug in person but this is the best I can do for now!

Danni I hope your hospital visit was nothing too serious hun. Poor Mason, ear infections are so nasty on the poor little ones. Elena had one a while ago and it was awful. Sorry you are no longer able to bf but you did an amazing job doing if for this long

Gotta go, just a quick one from me. My house looks like a bomb hit it so I better do something about it while Ellie is sleeping. Hope all the other sick bubbas are improving.

I'm the same as Sangie. My house is an absolutle bombsite. Still trying to finish up packing as well as the normal day to day life housework too. Livvy is on the mend. Now she only has the standard runny nose and a cold. I have to go out grocery shopping but it is freezing and foggy here.

Hope all mums and bubs are on the mend. Catch up soon properly.

    Dan.

Just had to duck in to say I couldn't post your pressie yesterday Angus, it wouldn' fit in a satchel so I had to get a box but it will be on it's way tonight. Again, my deepest apologies sweetie I just hope you enjoy it when it does arrive.

My ticker pic is of my poor little man in his jail cot in hospital Breaks my heart. He is improving slowly but is still very drowsy so I'm going to call his surgeon and see if it's normal....it's been 3 days since the op so I'm a little worried.

Oh Ash - Poor little Blake, thats just terrible. I hope he starts improving soon (I'm sure he will). Hang in there - you're doing an amazing job. I can't imagine how hard it must be.

Well just a quick one from me - we have a very busy day ahead of us and I need to get myself organised while Luke's asleep!! I gave him some cows milk yesterday and all seems fine so far. I ended up just giving him a whole bottle of cows milk (I was going to do half, half with formula but I started running low and couldn't be bothered going out to buy another tin, so we did all cows milk) and he downed the whole bottle, no problem!! I gave him formula again last night though and this morning but have completely run out now, so I'll give him cows milk again at lunch time and maybe buy one more tin of formula, so I can give him formula again tonight. Then just slowly take the formula away! I want to keep the bottle of the day as formula for now though as I'm worried about it affecting his sleeping and I just can't bear the thought of him waking up all night again!!

Must go - hope everyone is well.

Just popping in to say hi! Have been incredibly busy trying to catch up on washing and stuff while my little man is asleep. He is not a well boy He has been having high fevers for the last 2/3 days, and I am pretty sure it is because he has 2 big molars coming through. The tips of one are through, but the other one is so swollen. He won't let me put him down or move out of his sight. hence to say we are having a cr&p few days!!

Oh Ash, I feel bad, don't stress about the KK, look after your little man. Hope he gets better soon, but just a thought, could he be lethargic cause of his low hb. You can take oral iron for this (fergon/ferrous sulphate.) We give it to the premmie bubs with low hbs, when it is not quite low enough to warrant a transfusion.

Will be back to catch up prop later, have zucchini slice in the oven to try and tempt my boy to eat!! He has been so fussy since having gastro, not eating much, unless it comes off my plate!!! He must think it is differnet to his!!

Shell - I hear you on the molars - WTF is that? I thought the next ones were eye teeth then today at MG Izzy fell over and was crying and I looked in her mouth and saw the whole top of a molar that I didn't even know/think was coming out but it explains my grizzly/grumpy/cuddly girl from a week or so ago - I wonder if the diahrrea was linked too now!! Ugh not looking forward to the rest coming out!

    Ok off to do reports!
