welcome townsville girl! There aren't many of us who post in here anymore, and not so frequently! But we try :)
Hey All! I am one of those slack ones!! I try and post, but more than often read - then one of the kids are screaming wanting something!! So...never get to reply!!! Welcome Townsville girl!! Nice place to live hey ;)
Well, we had an interesting day yetserday. Angus woke up, had his milk, then promptly threw up everywhere!! He had some temps the day before and over night, and also had a fine rash on his legs. So he continued to constantly vomit whenever he had fluids!! So, off we went to the chemist (only had one iceblock thingy), got more iceblocks and the bottle of hydralyte stuff. He held that down, had a sleep, then woke up like nothing was wrong. Weird!! The rash spread across his legs and tummy, so pretty sure it was a viral rash, cause the temps stopped when the vomiting stopped. Hopefully no one else gets it!! I hate voomiting!! Today he is back to normal!!
Anyway, am thinking I need an early night!! He had a really restless night, and I am so so tired. Had a semi late night New years Eve - went to dinner for my birthday, then had to go to work at 7am New Years Day!! Then had a late night with the family that night, so need to catch up on sleep I think!! xxx
Thanks for all the congrats ladies! I am still in shock as I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly. I had convinced myself that it was going to take months.
Tan congrats on becoming an aunty! I completely understand why you wouldn't want to take Izzy on a plane to Canada. If she is anything like Elena then sitting still for even one minute is out of the question!
Dan yay on the big girl bed! How is it going? We haven't made that transition yet, thinking we might wait until after Ellie turns 2. She is still such a wriggler at night!
Lulu how adorabe that Izzy goes to find her sister! Although you would probably rather that she let Elena sleep lol! I've heard that there is a heat wave going on in your part of the world, hope you are all coping with the heat. At least you ain't pg this summer lol!
Shell glad that Angus is ok, how scary! Happy birthday hun! :happybirthday:
Welcome townsville girl and best of luck trying to TTC!
Gonna head off to bed soon, feeling very tired and sick already. Take care all xxxxx
Welcome Townsvillegirl. Looks like you're like me and have two bubbies VERY close together. And you're going back for NO. 3 already??? Wow. You're a very brave lady.
Shell - happy belated birthday. I hope Angus is better very quickly and that your girls (or you) don't get it. Hope you get a lot of sleep too.
Lis - sorry you're feeling so sick already. I know its a great indication that everything is ok but seriously, MS sucks! I hope it passes very, very quickly for you. Were you sick with Ellie and if yes, the whole time or did it ease up? Yes - I would definitely rather Ellie was allowed to sleep. Very frustrating sometimes but its hard to be angry with Izzy is so proud of herself and Ellie wakes up laughing and clapping. Very gorgeous.
LIke Lis said, it has been very hot over here and no sign of easing up over the next week - high 30s the whole way through. We have an airconditioner that does the upstairs where the girls' bedrooms are and one that does the downstairs. The upstairs one has been on continuously since Boxing Day. I am not looking forward to getting the power bill - might have to crack the whip and get DH working longer hours :p Still, if it means the girls get good naps during the day and comfortable sleeps overnight then its worth it.
Anyway, off to try to convince Ellie that she actually is tired. Don't like my chances given she is doing laps walking around the coffee table chattering away :wall:
Hi gorgeous mummies,
Lulu - I love reading stories about your girls. They just sound absolutely gorgeous together and it gets me all excited about Livvy with her little sister/brother. I can just picture Iz being so proud that she found her little sister. I'm still stunned that El is doing laps around the coffee table chattering away. God she is so little it's scary. I was terrified about getting our first heating bill as the house we were in when Liv was born was absolutely freezing and had a heater going all the time for her but like you we decided it was worth it to keep Liv warm.
Liz - about the m/s. Fingers crossed it eases up for you really soon and the first trimester flies by and the m/s disappears. Fantastic news that it happened quickly for you. I wanted to wait until Livvy was 2 for a bed but I want her settled in a bed before the baby comes for two reasons. I dind't want Livvy to associate the baby with taking away her cot and I have a funny feeling this transition isn't going to go well so I wanted her settled in a bed before I'm up all night with a newborn and try to avoid having to try and settle two kids overnight. Fingers crossed my plan works. Are you guys all settled in?
Tan - How are you gorgeous kiddies treating you. Still being spoilt by James sleeping through the night? How is Izzy when you b/f James? Is Iz sleeping overnight in her bed or day sleep only? How'd you make the transition in the end (my memory is terrible ).
Shell - Bugger about Angus being sick but great to hear that he already feeling better. Isn't it weird how they go from so sick to better in a matter of hours. They certainly keep up guessing and on our toes that's for sure. Have you managed to wean Angus yet or is he still standing firm and not giving up his bb's?? How's work treating you?
Townsville mum - Welcome to our amazing little group. Like Danni said sometimes it's quiet for a few days then we have a flurry of conversation. You'll have to fill us on your little kiddies. Best of luck TTC #3. Did you have any trouble TTC your first 2? Sorry if that's personal. Feel free to ignore me. I'm such a questioner (that's my polite way of calling myself a sticky nose, LOL!!!).
Danni - How you feeling gorgeous? Not long til your next scan. Can't wait to see if I guessed right. What is little M up to? Have you managed to move him into his own room yet?
Has anyone heard from Sarah?? Is her little man here yet??
Livvy has found a new interest. My bb's!!! I have no idea why she is always pulling down my top and playing with my bb's, REGARDLESS OF WHERE WE ARE OR WHO IS AROUND!!!! Anyone else's little ones doing this? I've noticed that I have started leaking ALREADY so I'm wondering if that is why.
We haven't made the transition to Liv's bed yet as it was only put together yesterday as I had to tidy up and sort out her room and wash all her sheets. Our first try is going to be her afternoon sleep today. Keep everything crossed for us. Lulu Liv absolutely loves her bed and is very protective of it!!! She loves sitting on it, laying on it, using her pillows but she is the only one. My mum was here yesterday when we put it together and made it and made the mistake of trying to sit on it with her. Livvy prompty walked behind on and started to push her off while telling her off. It was so cute but a little bit naughty.
Olivia's independence is getting out of control here. She is doing everything herself. I swear the only thing I'm allowed to do for her now is change her nappy. She even undresses herself. My baby has completely gone . She got a pram and capsule for Christmas and I can't get her to leave the house without them both. She even has to put them in the boot of the car. She is getting so damn cute and such a little girl.
I have my first OB appt tomorrow so hopefully all is ok with bubba. I've got a cute little belly but gee Olivia flogs the crap out of my belly. Poor little bugga. I had a little melt down the other day that this baby must be thinking that we don't want it because we have nowhere for it to sleep and haven't bought a single thing for it :(. We buy everything new still for Olivia so this one can have all her hand me downs. Poor little munchkin I even lost it's first u/s picture for 3 weeks so I couldn't show anyone. This would not have happened with Livvy. I feel so bad. It gets getter doesn't it??
Alright I better go. Got a house full of visitors and I'm being rude sitting on the computer while Dave cooks everyone breaky and cleans up afterward. I must admit I'm loving having him home and helping with everything. He's been amazing and we have even done some of our little jobs around the house.
Chat soon everyone. Have a great day and keep cool.
Mason is obsessed with my boobs too. Especially when he has a runny nose and he knows I hold tissues in my bra  He loves to put one hand down there whenever he can!
Mason went into a single mattress in his own room for the firs time last night. What a stressful experience. Imissed him so much...and even DH coudnt sleep without him. He slept from 9pm til 3:30am when I heard his breathing change on the monitor....
A few minutes later I hadn't heard anything so I thought I better go check on him...and I found him walking through the kitchen!! Little munchkin. I kissed him to death (as if he had been gone for days!) and put him in our bed where we all slept so soundly until 9:30!
Tonight we are gunna try shutting the door.I know he will cry but I hate to think of what could have happened to him if I hadn't have gotten up. I'm happy to try again but it is breaking my heart.
I don;t see the big problem in having two babies in my room :(
Aw Dan. I had those same feelings too. For Izzy we bought beautiful new matching furniture, and for Ellie we have my SIL's second hand stuff that has gone through her 3 boys. Knowing I was having another girl meant I told myself I could only buy a couple of new outfits because Iz had so many, and I certainly didn't need to buy more than an extra one or two things with each new size/season. Didn't need toys because Iz had outgrown them all.
FWIW, Izzy had a heap of clothes in her wardrobe this time last year - it was probably about 2/3 full (one of those double door, built in jobs). Elena's wardrobe a year later is so full it is a struggle to put anything in or get anything out and her drawers are overflowing. She still has borrowed furniture but I've got over that now - she doesn't know and its safe and secure, and she has her own lovely new linen.
As you know, I went through a very, very long period where I honestly didn't want Elena - even after she was born - and I felt as if I was making such a public display of how much I didn't want her by the second hand stuff, not buying more stuff etc. I am now as ridiculously besotted with her as I am with Iz. So hang in there. Those feelings of not doing enough for your second born do pass. And hey, if she grows up complaining that she never got anything new I'm going to tell the ungrateful little Miss that because of her I bought 4 new prams!!
Good luck with the bed trial today. That is hilarious that Liv pushed her granny off.
Danni - that's fantastic for his first night! I'm sorry you missed him so much (well, you know, nice that you love him so much but sorry you felt bad). I think you need to do whatever you feel comfortable with. The only thing I would say is that I was relieved not to have to be worrying about disturbing Izzy in those early few weeks with Elena when there is so much night time activity. Their little worlds are already turned upside down by the new little interloper in their life, so keeping things as consistent as possible, and still maintaining Mason's own space, own room etc I think is a really positive thing. I know Izzy is very good at sharing with Elena, but she also knows that her room is hers, and that's it!
Hi Townsville girl! Good luck TTC and keeping up with us here! Some weeks its really quiet then it can be a bit busy like it is now!! :)
Shell - :happybirthday: babe!! Poor Angus :( We had a sick girl here the last few days, she threw up NYE and then was out of sorts on the 1st, woke up throwing up all day yesterday, no fever though and spent all day on the couch watching the Wiggles, unheard of around here seeing as she is so active. She has a bright red cheek too so we wonder if she was bitten by something but she seems much better today thank goodness. It's horrid when they are sick, I hope your girls and you all stay well hun.
Lis - How are you feeling hun! So exciting! Izzy made the transition herself because she threw up one night ages ago before James was born in her cot so DH put her in the bed. She then asked to go in there for her day naps and we kept her in there after that! Good luck with it hun - I would just follow your normal routine with her and put her in for her day naps and see how she goes - she probably won't want to go in the cot at all! James is still sleeping overnight in fact, he sleeps better than Izzy!! Goes down between 7-8 and up at 7-8 - got up at 4 today though but right back to bed til 10!!! Can''t complain!
Lulu - You can send a little bit of heat over this way, our summer has been cr@ppy so far I know it can get SO hot here so I shouldn't complain but honestly 21 for NYE! It was 40 last year!!! We haven't used the pool once this year.
Dan - It does get better and I felt the same way with our bub because we didn't have anything new either... it was a bit easier to convince DH once we knew he was a boy but we really didn't buy much at all and I got loads of second hand stuff too. Maybe just buy something new that is really special just for bub hun and don't stress - these bubs don't need things, just our love and BB's!!! Funny how Liv has picked up on them!! Izzy kisses James and my bb while Im feeding him - it's hilarious and she calls it boob. Nice! She calls b'feeding "mum mum mum" and breastfeeds all her dolls! Just gorgeous. She loves him so much and just gives him loads of cuddles and kisses but can get quite demanding at times because she is a tad jealous. He is such an easy baby though, so content and sleeps super well so I can't complain.
Sarah - Not long to go sweet! I know it sucks, 14 days over -trust me I know ;) but you will have him so soon and will be like me looking at my little guy thinking how fast he is growng up already.
Hi D and everyone I've missed!
We have heaps to do to get DH ready to go on Wed including mentally preparing myself! I have made plans to go to MIL's mums and a friends place so I should'nt be alone too much. Have a great Sundal all will chat soon!
You girls post too fast!!!! Sorry you didn't have a great night but 6 hours is pretty good D! Just think of me! I've had both kids in their own rooms from day 2 for Izzy and day 6 with James! I rest so much better not hearing every grunt and then I am well rested for chasing them and caring for them during the day! :) Why don't you have 2 in your room if that's what you want BTW??
Lulu is right of course! You also get SO much stuff given to you, DHkept reminding me and I forgot but even though you don't get as much as for the first (well we didn't - what's with that??? Second baby is just as special and amazing as the first??) but you still get given loads, plus toys etc are pretty unisex and can be passed down. You will be fine hun!
Hey everyone! Welcome Townsville Mum, I am one of the super lazy posters, I just don't have a whole lot of energy these days for some reason  Perhaps because I use all available energy trying to get this baby out of me.
Still very pregnant, feeling miserable. Considering my 3rd tbsp of castor oil in 2 weeks to see if I can get something going. I took some NYE day and had contractions that night so maybe it will work. I can't sleep at night and I feel so big and uncomfortable. The worst part is I have felt so detatched from this pregnancy and have not bonded with him yet while he has been inside. I hope I feel differently when he is here. Okay whinge over...
Noah is growing into the most beautiful boy. He is cheeky a lot of the time but not too mischeivious at least. I do let him get away with a fair bit though. I figure you are only young once and as long as he is not harming himself or others I can let some things slide. He is starting to string 2-3 words together that I can understand but his own language he seems to string long sentances together, it makes me wonder what he is talking about because it must be important with all that he has to say
Can't remember if I posted around Chissy, Noah got spoiled, and on NYE we went and bought him a trampoline to top off the whole lot. Just as well Noah isn't going to be an only child so all these things we get him are not just for him in the bigger picture.
It sounds like everything is going well, a few pregnancies  Congratulations Sangie!!!
Boobs!!! Noah still feeds 2-4 times a day and yesterday gave charlie brown a feed of them too  He likes to play with my bbobs to get himself to sleep but not a habit I am happy with so I am trying to break that one.
Danni that is so cute about Mason getting up at 3:30am to walkabout. Noah is too scared to get out of bed for the most part and tends to stay in once we put him in, although he has snuck out a couple of times in the last week so we might be in for fun. I suppose 10 months in a big boy bed is a good run.
I'm so sorry for the lack of personals, I think I am going to try some castor oil now, anything to get this bean out of me.
Lulu you crack me up . 4 PRAMS!!!!
Thanks for making me feel better about not having new stuff for this bubba. I went out this morning and bought bubba a new jumpsuit just so I felt like I have something just for bubba. Feel much better.
Hey Tan, where is Al off to??
I thought I'd posted here already - haha! He is going to Canada for 16 DAYS! to see my BIL, SIL and new nephew that was born on the 30th Dec! Thomas Ronald. He is sort of representing the famly coz his mum and dad went to Canada last year to see them so they won't be going. They are coming here too in May or June but Al still wants to go see them! He hasn't told them but has set it all up with a friend of theirs in Montreal and he is going to just knock on their door when he arrives!! It's -14 during the day and -20 at night right now so he needs a jacket and some warm stuff!!! We are going to miss him terribly - I haven't been apart from him for longer than 5 days when I have been on school camp since we got together more than 11 years ago! I will split my time from here, mums, and my IL's and mum will stay with me so I'm not alone at all. Ugh. Hopefully it will go fast!
Now I remember. You have told us. My memory is like a sieve, LOL!!! I don't know how I'd be away from Dave for 16 Days either. You and the kids are going to miss him terribly but fantastic that you will have heaps of support from both sets of parents. HOLY COW -14 to -20!!!! I freeze in our winter so I don't think I'd ever cope with those temps. I'd never leave under the doona or the house, LOL!!
 My SIL has said that she basically won't leave the apartment at all with bub until winter is over - imagine going out with a newborn in that!
Yeah, I couldn't resist another pram Dan. I bought a side by side umbrella stroller and I have to say (sorry Tan!!) it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the P&Ts. I never was a fan as anybody who has ever read a word I've written would know ;) Ellie really hated it in the bottom toddler seat. Shopping trips were an absolute nightmare with me basically having to carry El the whole time. She loves her No. 4 carriage - same level as Iz, they can hold hands etc. She now sits happily and chatters away the whole time we're shopping. And it is just as easy to get around with as the P&Ts - not much wider so a much better choice for us.
Tan - I'm with you 100% on the 2nd baby thing. TBH I think that added a little to my PND. When Iz was born there was such a huge fuss made by absolutely everybody - flowers, presents, cards etc. DH had been secretly talking to the jeweller that made our wedding/engagement rings and had designed a special pendant for me. Huge fuss. With El I was home 10 hours after she was born, no visitors (I guess cos we were home), one bunch of flowers, nothing from DH, limited presents. I felt really deflated, like my second born wasn't as worthy as my first. It was really very sad.
Yikes girls I can't keep up with this pace!
Tan - lucky Al, I would love to go to Canada. Hopefully the time will fly for you and he will be back before you know it. I'm sure that Izzy and James will keep you very busy lol!
Dan - I was going to suggest that you go out and buy bub a special outfit/toy. I was just saying to DH today that if this bub is a girl then I'm still going to go and buy her some new things (even if we have five trilion hand me downs from Ellie lol!). Are you going to find out the sex?
Danni - LOL at Mason walking around at night. I guess in the end you have to do what you are comfortable with. My cousin has her two kids in her room at night and has no problems.
Sarah - eeeewwww on the castor oil, you are a brave woman lol! Best of luck hun, hope your newest prince decides to join the outside world soon!
Lulu - Yes I had ms with Ellie but it didn't start until 6-7 weeks. This time I was sick from before 4 weeks! But I seem to be on top of it the last couple of days, regular snacking really helps. I agree that sleep is more important that a power bill so crank up that air con. We are finally seeing some warmer weather here woo hoo!
Gonna go and try to sleep, I'm so so tired but just can't sleep lately. Driving me nuts!
Gosh, is busy here the last few days!!
Sarah - good luck hun!! Can't wait for the birth announcment, I am sure you will do great!!!
Lis - MS already - yikes! Maybe you have twins in there??!!!!
Lulu - I love your pram collection. Although, as much as I love my P&T, middle DD doesn't sit in it anymore, so just using it single, I am hating it!! I want to buy a maclaren stroller, but I think DH will divorce me. I had pram and stroller for DD1, new stroller DD2, 2 new prams for Angus!!! God, that is bad, although I think you still win  Maybe I can sneak it home and he won't notice!!
I am sick of lifting it in and out the boot though!
Tan - Ooh, hope Al has a nice holiday - lucky thing! I have never seen snow, although I hate the cold! Hence why I live in NQ!!! I think we wore jumpers for about 2 days last year!! I am used to my DH not being here, he used to work away 10 days, home 4 for years. He is working local now but leaves at 6am and is home 6pm, so barely see him anyway!!
Dan - Yes, I have my BB's back! I really had to do it as he was waking up during the night to feed back to sleep. So I just said no more boobies, that was when he was about 14/15mths? Although, never helped with his sleep - he still wakes up  Can't wait to hear about your scan - so exciting!! I so long to be preg again - but on the other hand I love the growing independence of all my kids, and mroe freedom we have to do things together. Not so hard to go fishing/camping etc. So I spose I have to wait till I have grandchildren - yikes!!!
D - Oh, can't wait to hear about you bubs either!! I hope you get a pink one! Hope you are going to tell us all!!!
Anyway, sorry sbout patheric attempt at personal's, I have to crack a whip round here!! Going to attempt some school book shopping today! Crazy I know! Might go sneak a look at some strollers too!!
Sarah's waters broke this morning and she is in labour!!! :leap:
:happyforyou: :happyforyou: :happyforyou: :happyforyou:
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:leap:GO SARAH!!!:leap:
Will be thinking about you all day. Can't wait to hear all about your prince's safe arrival!!
Sending you heaps of quick labour vibes Sarah. Can't wait to read that your little man has arrived.
Shell - I can't recommend a light weight stroller enough. Even though mine is a double, it is so much lighter and easier to deal with getting in and out of the car than the P&Ts. Maybe you can promise your hubby a bit of action if he gives in on the stroller - it works for mine. Poor love gets so little lovin' these days I think he'd buy me the Hope Diamond if I promised him some more regular DTDing:)
YAY go Sarah! Can't wait to hear the good news!
Lulu I love your strategy, so that's how you got 4 prams
Quick stats here girls, still trying to get used to having 2 :S
I am home, I discharged myself 4 hours after Xavier was born. I don't do well with hospitals.
Xavier Alexander
Born at 3:18pm - 13 hours and 18 minutes after the start of regular contractions
3480 grams or 7lb 7oz
48.9 cms long
1st Stage of labour was 12 hours and 15 minutes
2nd Stage was 1 hour and 3 minutes
Drug Free!!!!
2nd degree tear with some internal and external stitches, sore but otherwise great.
Well done Sarah. Great job (although ouchies!!!). I'm with you on the short hospital stay. I agreed to go up to a ward for a few hours after Elena was born but regretted it as soon as we got there - was supposed to stay in for a few hours to get some sleep but that was a blo*dy joke with all the staff coming and going!! I couldn't get out of there fast enough either.
I hope you and Xavier are now well and truly settling in at home with J and Noah.
I had one of those incredibly beautiful mummy moments today that makes all the crap worthwhile. My GF brought her 2.5 year old this morning and she and Izzy were playing in our backyard. Izzy came up and opened the sliding door and looked at me inside sitting on the couch with one of those "I'm not sure everything is ok" looks on her face. I told her it was all fine, and that she should go out and play with Abbey in her cubby house. She got a huge grin on her face and then blew me huge kisses before running off to play. God it was beautiful. Literally brought me to tears. Did the same thing to my GF too, although I think the fact that she is a very emotional 8 month pregnant woman might have contributed :)
Sarah- Congrats!!! Sounds like you did a fantastic job! Is this a vbac boy?
Lulu- What a beautiful moment :) The simple things they do that make you no its all worthwhile ;)
Congrats again Sarah, you did a great job! Hope you make a quick recovery and settle in at home with your new addition. I love the name Xavier!
Lulu that is so gorgeous!
Just a fly by here on my way to bed...........hope you are all well!
Congrats again Sarah! Love to you all - Im Izzy free tonight and DH left for Canada - waaaah 16 days and counting...... Lonely but peaceful house. My lil' man fell asleep at 6! I had to wake him for feed and to get him into warmer pj's = he will hopefully sleep til 9 for me now!
Hello All
I am trying to keep up with this thread, but I think it is going to take me a while to wrap my head around it.
Thanks so much for the warm welcome. Everybody in here is so friendly :)
Lulu - I can totally empathise with everything you are saying. My DD breaks into my DS's room while he is sleeping and wakes him up. It was ok a few months ago when he would just go straight back to sleep, but now he is awake and he is a baby that needs to sleep when he is tired or he doesn't cope with anything!!! I also understand about the prams - I have 4 as well - 2 twin prams (an umbrella one for shopping and a 3 wheeler jogger for walking) and I have 2 singles (an umbrella and a jogger). I use my single jogger the most because I bought a baby capsule that would fit in the top before DS was born because I had a lot of problems with DD waking up when I get her in and out of the car when she was small. The capsule means that I can pack DS up while I am inside and put him down next to the car while I strap DD in and she can't run onto the road or anything. It also has rocking feet on the bottom and doubles as a rocker - best thing I every bought. DS is now 7 months and still fits in the capsule (though he is far from a small baby).
Shellbelle - Townsville is a great place to live. I love it!!!
Sarah - CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Tanstar - :hugs: It is hard that your DH has gone for the next 16 days, I struggle to survive 3 without mine. At least kids are a HUGE distractions (and a lot of work) - I hope the next 16 days goes very quickly!
I know there were a lot more posts than that and I am sorry that I have missed so many people, but there is so much going on in here!!!
Someone asked me to write a little about my kids so here goes:
My DD was born after TTC for 15 months and 2 chemical pregnancies. I had a horrible and long 41 hour OP labour, with and epidural in the 38th hour after no sleep (one day I will blog my birth story) but I did give birth naturally in the end. DD was nothing like what I expected and she NEVER slept. I ended up doing a sleep program with her at 7 weeks at IMPS here in Townsville (this is a govt run centre for parents with new babies and does everything from nutrition to sleeping to behaviour). Her sleeping improved immensly after that and we have managed to keep the technique going. When she was about 4 months old we discovered that she was losing weight and dropping weight percentiles quite rapidly as my milk had dried up and I hadn't realised:doh: So she was formula fed making it possible for me to conceive my DS when DD was only 4 months old.
I had gestational diabetes in my pregnancy with DS but managed to remain diet controlled only but I was induced at 38 weeks. He was not ready to be born. I spent 2 days in hospital having contractions that were not actually dialating - they were a reaction to the drugs for induction. I went into labour when they broke my waters (which they only managed to do because I had previously given birth) and he too was OP. The labour was far more positive an experience this time. DS is a dream baby (thus looking at having a third). We have had no sleep issues with him, he loves his sleep and he has BF really really well.
I attend a mothers' group weekly that I met when I was doing some of the courses through IMPS. We have managed to keep on meeting for about 18 months now. They are the reason that I have survived being a parent and my weekly sanity fix. There are 6 of us and all our babies are born within about 3 weeks of each other (amazingly my SIL is also in the group - she had a baby 3 weeks after me). My mother's group have done some great stuff together like girls' nights out, joint b'day party for the kids, christmas parties and been a great support through pregnancy and birth. 4 members of my mothers' group are due to have babies in the next 3 months. It is an exciting time!
Both my kids are just amazing and I am so thankful for them. I love being a mum and the new adventures that it brings each day. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and your kids as well.
Well that was a lot of info but my story of parenthood in a nutshell. Thanks for reading (if you made it this far).
I hate computers - just wrote a big long post and lost it grrr!!!!!
Lulu - so you think nice dinner, some action and then new stroller!!! OK, worth a try!! I want a maclaren I think, something that will last, just not sure whether to sell my p&t then?
Am going to put my other pram (one that has bassinette and seat attachments) on e-bay today and see how I go. Also have some mcn's that I might put on b4b or on here I spose. I have so many and some are just not a good fit on my little man!!
Sarah - Xavier is just beautiful. I don't see much resemblence to Noah? Hard to tell though when they are so new. Hope your ouchies heal quickly. How is Noah going sharing his boobies!!
Tan - hope the next 2 weeks fly for you. When DH went to China last year for a week it was so hard cause I couldn't contact him at all!! Seemed like an eternity, but the kids kept me busy and we did lots of shopping haha!!
Lis - How is the ms going??? Hope you are not going too bad, nothing worse than an active toddler trying to understand why Mummy is so sick!!
Kass - how is your ttc going?? How is you new house too? Love your new ticker pic - annabelle is such a cuite!!
Dan - not long till your scan!! How is work going? I hated the long hours on my feet and lack of breaks. Was always dehydrated and tired. Yucko. I still havent decided about doing my midi yet - thinking I might change career totally and do a bach of edu (primary)!! The nursing hours suck having a family, and the shift work makes me grumpy!! Would be nice to do normal hours at work!!!
Townsvillegirl - How hot is it the last few days!! Is so yuck, and the pool is like swimming in soup. The kids are driving me insane because they are bored and hot!!! Might take them out today to get them out the house! If you ever want to catch up let me know!! Lollipops is always good!
Anyway, my little man is being really clingy lately and driving me up the wall. He follows me around all day everywhere! He is trying to get on my lap now, so I better go. xxx
Well hello there lovlies!
Tan- James seems to be a dream baby! Sucks Dp is going for a little bit but just think everyday that you get through is getting you closer to seeing him! Where did Iz go last night?
Townsvillgirl- Thought I should ask for your real name as personals take a bit longer with a user name like yours and mine
What a great run down of your children! Now I want one of your Dp ;)
Dont know if you realised but we are in the TTC group together ;)
Shell- Clinginess I can understand! But must admit I rather that then no cuddles at all ;)
My little girl is pretty cute hey haha I changed my ticker pic again, I can get her hair in pigtails!!! Dont know if you can tell in that pic
Well ladies not much news with me I dont think I told you my massive petty getting upset while I was away thing?!
SIL and her arse of a hubby tried telling me Annabelle isn't like me and more like their son!!! hahahahahahaha She is NOTHING like their son its the dumbest thing said EVER! Everyone I ask cracks up laughing at how stupid it is. But at the time it cut me real deep!
Anyway you ladies with my facebook can see in one of my albums I made one showing me as a kid and then have a look at Annabelle ;) make comments if you like :rolleyes:
K sorry for being silly young mummy but it hurt me as everything Annabelle has or does like me SIL makes it unlike me. Freak woman!!!
Just a quick one - will BBL if Elena ever stops being a limpet.
Just wanted to say to Kass I know what you mean. According to my MIL, both my daughters are COMPLETELY from my husband's side of the family. If it weren't for the fact that I was conscious when I gave birth to them I would have to wonder if I really was related ;) Stoopid in-laws.
Awww Kass  that's ok hun - you know she's all YOURS and they are probably just jealous! Izzy is at mums! :) Will be back soon - I miss her!
Lulu - Limpet. I know what you mean though - Izzy has started hugging our legs constantly if she is grizzly - cute but makes it hard to get around!
Shell - I've been buying mcn left right and centre - poor man. Lucky we have Skype so we will talk soon so he can see the kids! :)
TVG - You did a great job of personals huN! Put us all to shame I'm afraid! We are a pretty friendly bunch! Just not as chatty as we used to be in here! :) We still wuv each other lots though! ;) SOunds like your MG is great - I love mine - we are back at it on Monday thank goodness!
I have been stalking Al's flight on flight tracker! He is literally about to land in Montreal! Delayed for a few hours though so I doubt he will go see BIL and SIL tonight. Ah well - can't wait to Skype him tomorrow! :)
Tan - love your new ticker, little man James is gorgeous - so much like Izzy!!
I am melting away here.....so hot....am going to check out air cons tomorrow hahhahaha!!!
Tan - yeah, I miss my MG when we have a break, like over Christmas. So relieved to get them back yesterday . . . although there are still some away on hols.
Shell - It has been so hot here. We don't go outside much, it is so nice in the airconditioning, too hot to venture out at the moment. It is a pity because Maddie (my DD) especially loves playing outside. We have been to Lollipops a lot - we love it there. I especially like that adults get a 'free' coffee. It's like compulsory fun.
Kass and Lulu - I hate in-laws. In fact we don't have anything to do with my husband's family anymore, long long story but was not worth the stress they put on our family, especially in the first month after Maddie was born.
Kass asked for my real name and it is Erin - may make it a bit easier to post to.
Took both my kids, Maddie and Josh, for their needles this afternoon. I hate needles and it was traumatic (mainly for me) and I cried as I always do. My DH always comes with us because I can't do it on my own. He usually holds them and I usually do the cuddling bit afterwards. I have had a turn at holding them the last two times though and it is not as bad as I thought it would be, but still hard.
Hehe and here I was saying we dont post much!! hehe
4 more sleeps!!
Ok ladies Im so glad I shared with you. I wasn't going to thought may be a little petty. But thought this was a great oppprtunity to make us all add eachother to facebook! You cant find me as Im on private :o
Erin- Thats much easier! Dont you hate needles!!!!!! You would think in this day and age they would have come up with a better way for bubs!
Lulu- What a load of poo! Bet your girls have heaps of you!
Tan- I tried getting a ticker from there but I dont know how to make my pis any smaller??????
D- OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Ill ask AGAIN will you tell us!
Ok ladies add me!
How can we add u??
Good point ;)
My name is Kassie-Marie Yates: yatesjasper@hotmail.com. Try those if still nothing ill take myself off private ;)
Hi ladies, what a chatty bunch hey? I love it lol!
Tan - hope the next couple of weeks go by very quickly for you. I'm sure Al will be missing you too! I can sympathise. DH travels a bit for work and he will be away for a week in Feb, come home for 2 weeks and then go to Sweden for 14 days. Not looking forward to it at all...
Kass - your stoopid in-laws hey? Next time remind them that Annabelle is 50% you and 50% Clint and that's it lol!
Erin - gosh I hate needles too and I make DH come and hold Ellie cos I can't do it. The first needle she had I cried as well! I'm such a sook!
Danni - OMG 4 more sleeps, how exciting!!!!!!!
Shell - change of career would be exciting! Good luck with the air con, sounds like you need it.
Sarah - hope your newest addition is settling in well and that you are feeling ok.
Lulu - your IL's sound more like mine everyday lol!
Dan - how are you going hun? Hope you are feeling ok and that Livvy is enjoying her big girls bed!
AFM not much to report. I seem to be on top of the m/s thankfully. Snacking on rice crackers throughout the day seems to help. Ellie is being absolutely gorgeous. If I'm feeling sick and hanging out in the bathroom she will bring me her sippy cup of water and a teddy to cuddle, so cute!
Chat soon lovelies xxxxx :)
