Tara with such a crappy week I know that a is in order. Please look after yourself and your sick boys. I do not know how you ladies do it with more than one baby. You are all amazing.
We have our two nephews staying with us because their younger brother is in hospital with croup and their mum is staying with her. My god it is so different with two kids and a baby. The boys only got here 8pm last night and I'm exhausted already.
    GTG cause Olivia is crying.
    Catch up later,
    Dan

Still haven't got time for personals - so sorry!!

We had a crappy afternoon yesterday - Luke just wouldn't settle. From 4pm to 8pm he was a right little bugger but thankfully we finally got him to sleep at about 9pm, so I guess I can't complain. He only slept until 1.30pm though, so we're going backwards again and I only got about 3 hours sleep. I managed to get him back down again after a feed but he woke again at about 5.30pm, so I didn't get much sleep!! Its exhausting.

To make it worse, we've hosting a little dinner party tonight, so I've been busy preparing all day!! Luckily Luke is making up for yesterday afternoon and has been an absolute dream today! We're setting up two friends tonight, so I'm really nervous - I hope it goes well and they get along!!! I've never done this before but its how I met Ryann, so you never know!!

Tara - Big hugs to you, what a crappy week. I hope it all improves for you honey!

Sez - How is everything going, I don't think I remember reading any posts from you lately?

    Take care.

Sorry to be so quick, but I need to go and express! Just wanted to let you all know that we're doing well, just really busy. Nicholas is a star, he's recovered so well I've got the boot off my foot, but I can't drive just yet. My FIL is painting our study starting tomorrow, and I'm not sure if he'll need to disconnect the computer GOD I HOPE NOT! I don't get much time on here these days, but even five minutes a day is good time out. And I start taking Motilium tomorrow, so I'm hoping I don't have any questions about that, though I'm sure I will

So much going on in here I can't keep up! Sounds like a few of you are doing it tough ATM though, big hugs to you all.

    Love Sez xoxo

I finally get a chance to get on to do more than read the posts, thank god it has been quiet so I don't have a lot to catch up on I hope all of your bubbies have been much better behaved than my little monster, the last few days have been trying and I have to wonder if he is a little behind on the wonder week.

Sez - Yay on the boot coming off, you will be driving out and about in no time I am sure, no more cabin fever!!! I don't know how you went so long without the freedom to go wherever you wanted whenever you wanted.

Kelly - Sounds like Luke was a little monster yesterday, hopefully he keeps up the good behavior tonight so you can play cupid without having to settle him all night.

Dan - A practice run on having more kids, sounds exhausting. I hope your little nephew gets better soon. Noah and I co-sleep all the time and it has been going on since birth, I am working on a feed, play, sleep routine again and trying to settle him in his bassinet in the day unless I am going to have a snooze too, then we snuggle on the sofa.

Tara - A is definitely in order for you, what a terrible week! I hope your mastitis clears up for you quickly.

Lulu - I am glad to hear that things are looking better for you, it isn't unusual that babies sleep for a 2 hour stretch at a time, that is what the experts say happens and then one long sleep of 4-6 hours or so, Noah only sleeps for 1-2 hours at a stretch and his long sleep is 4 hours, the problem is he doesn't have many daytime sleeps, only about 2.

Tan - I think it is a wonder week that is bothering him Not a lot of fun but at least a sunny week follows. I really should get off my a$$ and get my P's so I can come to Melbs more often.

Michelle - Welcome! Bad weather in Qld??? All the ad's show nice blue skies!! When I arrived in Oz in 2002 I was going to head up that way but never got around to it. Fingers crossed it warms up for you.

Ack!!! My legs are dead! I was just sitting back on my feet and knees on the floor while I typed that and now I get the joy of pins and needles...
So today I have been working on the feed, play, sleep routine but it goes more like this, feed, play, feed again and then sleep, so 2 sleeps today were with me, and I decided to see if he would do another sleep on his own since I need to get ready for dinner at the IL's. I do the feed, then I played for the 1 1/2 hours, then I had to feed him again and I am about to put him in the bassinet, when he wakes!! I decided to leave him there and he fussed a little but I walked out of the room. He started to cry so I go back in and sing a nursery rhyme and then say nighty night and leave the room and 2 mins later I walk in and he is sleeping!! 30mins later he is still sleeping and I cannot believe it! The goal is to get him to have his daytime sleeps on his own so I can get things done during the day. Well I better get ready but I was so excited at this development I just had to share. Am I the last person to settle their child in their own bed?

OK, another quick one from me - I've just put Luke down but I don't like my chances of him actually falling asleep!!

Sarah - Well done!! Sounds like you're getting things sorted with day sleeping - lets hope it stays that way!! I'm having trouble there too but thankfully yesterday, Luke was a dream. Ryann put him down and when I went in a little later, he was sound asleep!! He never does that for me!!

Sez - So glad all is going well!!

So... the dinner party was great but the set-up was not so great - I certainly didn't notice any sparks flying!!! Oh well, it was still a lovely night, that is until I exploded the gravy in the microwave - long story but lets just say it was EXTREMELY messy and provided some entertainment for our guests!! I'm such an idiot!!

Friends of ours just had a little baby girl too, so we've been for a visit this morning and my god, it totally made us realise how much Luke has grown. He looked like a monster compared to her!!

Oh and very exciting news - we put Luke in his cot on Friday night and he just loves it!! I think he's enjoying being able to see everything as he couldn't see much from the bassinett. He's also loving the extra space. I still wrap him at night but in the day, I let him go and yesterday we found him with his arms right out enjoying the extra space!! So cute. He also had a great daytime sleep and then woke up and just looked around the room for a good half hour or so. He didn't even cry and I ended up just getting him up for some play time!! I couldn't believe it. I'm not holding my breath though!!!

    Anyway better go. Take care.

    Hi everyone

I've been having a tough time with a personal matter at the moment, I'll elaborate later on, I'm just not ready to share ATM.

Blake is still crying 24/7 and eating more than a 6 month old would. I'm getting so much conflicting advice and it is driving me insane.

On a brighter note, Ange (tryin_4_an_angel), Justin and gorgeous little Jade came to visit us on Saturday. Jade was perfectly well behaved, such a smiley little princess. Blake was cranky as per usual, but loves his new girlfriend lol click on the link in my sig for cuuuute pics (and see how giant Blake is compared to Jade!)

I hope everyone is having an easier time than i

    Hi there girls!

Thought I might finally get my butt in here and join in the fun We are all doing really well, but very busy as you can imagine...hence my slackness in returning to the online world! Hope to get in here and chat a bit more from now on though as we seem to be settling into a bit of a groove now

My littlest man, Lachlan Daniel, was born 23rd May. I'll post a bit of a birth story soon.

Lots of love- have missed you girls!

PS- Are we able to post pics in here? I forget the rules- a member of too many forums LOL

    HI ladies,
Lets see how I go here!

Hi Lindy!! - Congrats on the birth of Lachlan - photos arent allowed but links to photo sites are - just add it to your signature!

Lis - hope you got some rest last night - sounds like you are doing it tough.

Ash- Huge hugs hunny. Remember we are all here to support you, so when you are ready vent away and know that we are all here for you. The conflicting advice sucks hun, sometimes you just have to ignore it all and go with your gut. You are his mum and you will know and do what is best for him. Glad you had a nice visit with Ange and Jade too!

Kelly - yay for the cot!! Ive been putting Isabelle in hers with her mobile on while I shower etc and she LOVES it too! She doesnt look so little in it anymore either - so am wondering how much longer to keep her in the cradle! I like being able to tuck the blankets close around her on these icy Melbourne nights though - so maybe in Spring!! PMSL at your gravy! I once set fire to bread in the griller twice when we had guests over - Very funny! Hows the bfing going hun? Hope its all cleared up and smooth sailing from here on in!

Sarah - Yay on Noahs sleeping!! Thats awesome hun-thats what Ive been doing too - feed, play sleep, watching for tired signs - putting her bed awake, and settling her with a pat, a shhh and a dummy which she spits out once asleep!! Its working though even though she only sleeps for an hour at most during the day - and from 4pm is a nightmare - will discuss in a sec!! Hope his plaster is ok on his leg?

Sez - whoo hoo for no more boot! When can you drive?? you are one patient woman - I would be going stir crazy and calling all family members and friends to come and get me out!! Good luck too with the motilium - hope it helps!

Dan- makes you admire people with a newborn and 1,2,3... other kids - women really are super heroes hey!! Hope Olivia has been behaving and only one week to go! We need to work out a time/place too!!

Tara - super big hugs to you and the boys hun :hugs: what an awful time you have been having. Hope you are all feeling better soon and hoping your mastitis clears up quickly.

Lulu - I hope Izzy is recovering well and you are getting some rest too hun. Sounds like you are having a rough trot too - make sure you take some time out when you can. I jump in the bath (yes water restrictions) when Al gets home a few nights a week just to have some time to myself while he watches her for me.

Alex - Ive got a newborn grobag but it still seems to have alot of space at the bottom - Izzy is 55cms long.. not sure - she still sleeps better when we wrap her tight so might put of using it for a bit longer! Glad the boys had fun at the wiggles!!

Lee, Michelle, Mel, Rae, Mel, Jan and lots of others Im sure Ive forgotten -big hugs to you all!!!

Well our routine is slowly settling in. Izzy definately has a "witching hour" which is funny becasue its lasts much longer than one hour. From about 3 or 4 she will not sleep until anywhere from 630-8 and during this entire time she is grizzly unsettled, feeds every 40 minutes or so, rubs her eyes etc.. Really not sure what to do. Now during the day she settles well for her nap with a bit of a grizzle but drops off for at least an hour. I try the same routine but it doesnt work.

Luckily she is sleeping anywhere from 6-8 hrs when she does go down, then wakes 4 hours later (do they have a built in alarm clock - it is 4 hours almost to the minute!!) then 3 hour intervals until 3-4pm. Weird. Oh well Im sure we will settle in.

Went to Pumpkin Patch today and got the best bargains- stocked up on a heap of stuff for next years winter too!! Saw the LC at the centre for the pain in my right bb, and it is stil just an attachment issue, a few tips should help but I honestly think that we will never feed correctly on that side. Both of us are s*** !!at it so will just have to put up with a bit of pain i guess.

Tonight we went to visit a friend who had their baby last night - only 7lb 4 oz - sooo tiny compared to our little keg!! Ha ha she looked huge compared to him, so cute!! Made us realise how quickly she will grow up!

Anyway my contacts are blurring up and I need bed - so will chat again tomorrow!
    G'night mums and bubs!

    Evening ladies,
A real quick one from me. Olivia has turned into a complete nightmare and hasn't sleep for more than an hour since Saturday evening. I'm completely beside myself and am completely out of ideas on what to do . If she was just crying and grizzling I think I would be coping better but she is absolutely histerical (sp??). Yesterday absolutely no one could look at or touch her except Dave. The poor bugger is so tired because he had to be up with her all night and then go to work. I sat there with him but she wouldn't let me touch her. Today I've worn Dave's clothes all day and at least she would let me touch her. Thank god sleep school is only two nights away. Please hurry Wednesday!!!!

Tan I was thinking how it is only a week to go as well. I'm getting excited. I can't wait to met all of you lovely ladies and cuddle all these beautiful babies. I am staying in an apartment/hotel on Little Burke Street. You and Danni know the place where do you think would be best to meet???

Well I'm off to relieve Dave so he can go to bed. God I hope tonight is better than last two nights because I don't think I can take much more of this. What happened to my good little girl?

Hope everyone is getting there and their babies are behaving better than mine.

    Luv Dan.

    HI Everyone,

Firstly I would like to say welcome to Lindys and Michelle

Dan OMG - you must be exhausted!!!! Good luck on Wednesday - I have been thinking about finding out about a sleep school here as Isobella is still not going to sleep before 2am!!!
She is usually awake from 7pm-2am; amd the other day I was talking to a friend and we realised that it was the time the I was in established labour till. My contractions didn't really hurt till about 6:30 - 7 and I had her at 1am but she didn't go to sleep till just after 2 once we weighed her, feed her etc. Has anyone else found that their little ones active period was when they were having full on contractions?? or is it just me!

Tan my Izzy is going great(except for the sleep) and my back is starting to feel much better but still not very strong and that will take a little while to fix as long as I try to do my excercises. I am using a sleeping bag also but I just wrap her like normal but I have home made wraps that are extra big to be able to do that . Oh and I am glad to hear that she is settling better through the days for you.

Kellly YAY on the driving and bfeeding!! IKWYM about being out all the time I think that is part of the problem why Izzy won't sleep at night as she loves the movement and sleeps all day. Exploding gravy hey!!!

Dan the immunisations went alright the other day - poor thing she screamed her little lungs out and was desperately trying to move her legs away each time making the needle move in her leg. It made me feel like such a horrible mother but I know that it has to be done! Also I have got the mini pill but because I had issues with my cycle before falling pg I wanted to wait till I had AF before starting them.

Tara how are you and the boys feeling now? I hope things are better, it is never nice to see your kids sick

Sez Congrats on getting the boot off you must be feeling relieved and glad to hear that Nick is feeling so much better

Sarah I am still having troubles getting Izzy to settle in her own bed at nights too. Especially when she is exhausted and is screaming then suddenly falls asleep in my arms then when I put her in her bed she wakes up. If it gets too late and I am too tired I give in a bring her to bed with me or end up falling asleep with her in my arms on the lounge.

Lulu don't worry my Izzy doesn't sleep more than 2hours in a hit either as she was feeding every 2 hours which I have now pushed out to 3; so by the time that I change her nappy feed her and we play a little it doesn't leave much time for her to sleep longer than that

Ash thinking of you.......we will all be here when you are ready to talk

Hi Lis, Lee, Rae, Danni, Jan, Alex, Beck and anyone else that I have missed hope you and bubs are well.

Well I better go check on little miss she is watching TV in her swing (fingers crossed she has fallen asleep) as there is no point trying to fight her to go to sleep it just makes things more stressful.

It might take me a couple of days to find out what is happening re Noah's tenotomy, it does sound like an overnight stay now, I am awaiting confirmation about that and if it is, I am leaving it to Juz whether we get home asap on Thurs so he can work. I know he wants too because 2 days off will be hard on his wallet but he also knows how much it means to me so I dare say we will stay for a little while on Thurs.

Tan - That is great about Izzy's sleep. How sad is it when you see a smaller baby to realize how quickly ours are growing up. I saw a 7 month old yesterday that was the same size as Noah. I can't wait to weigh him when the plaster is off!

Mel - I hope Izzy fell asleep for you, I don't know whats worse, staying up late with them or waking up frequently with them. Oh well when they smile it all melts away anyway

OMG I just spent the last hour settling Noah, I cannot believe he will just not go down for a sleep. He was up every 30min to 1hr as usual all night and then we crashed on the sofa for 5 hours so he had his long sleep already so tonight is now screwed and now he has been up for 4 hours I have done everything including foiling his window and I have white noise playing too. Arg!!! Will try to finish personals later!
