I think it must have been the 8 week spurt..she definetly grew whilst we where on holidays as she only just fit in the bed I took for her by the end of the trip. She is not a skinny baby so I am not worried about it and she looks a very healthy size.
She has been crying/screamming for the last hour whilst I tried to give her a bottle, she only drank half of it so I just gave her some pandadol and put her in bed for a while, as her leg is hot around one of the injection sites and she is a little warm all over so I guess she is now starting to show some side effects from the immunisation injections and liquid today
My partner was very pro breastfeeding as were his family and really pushed me to keep trying..but my milk never really came in properly...now my partner says he is now glad we are ff as it means he gets to feed her and he really likes doing that - he gets the first feed after he gets home from work in the morning although lately it has been getting a bit late for him as she is getting a feed at 5am and sleeping again till 9 or 10am.
I have had a few uncles get curcumcised as adults and it is a very painfull recovery as adults - and suprisingly very common

Blondie- sorry to hear that you got that infection. You definitely did the right thing, you need to make sure you're feeling good about whatever you're doing and it sounds like there was just too much happening to make it work well. I'm so proud of you for going for so long what a big effort!
Eng- Orlando had been acting out too so you're not alone. He wants to lay on Leo to cuddle him and jumps around us when I'm feeding him. How is the PND going? We've had alot going on and I've been questioning whether I had stress or a bit of PND. Let's catch up soon. I think I'll call you and Blondie today to organise.
AFM- Leo is doing really well. He still gets colicky some evenings and just cries non-stop which is really stressful. I got him weighed at 6 weeks and he was a whopping 5.15kgs! He's 8 weeks now so I need to go do his check up and his immunisations.
Had a scare this week. We started DTD 3 weeks after Leo was born and I didn't start the mini pill until 9 days ago. I started feeling really nauseous and having headaches like I did at the start of leo's pregnancy. Had a test on Sunday which was neg but I have to go back in a week to make sure. Wouldn't that be full on!!
Which brings me to- are any of you going to have more kids?? and if so how much of a gap do you want?? I know it sounds nuts but I could do it again now I think... obviously a bit of a break would be nice but I've just been thinking about it.
Hey Ella Nice to have you back! Thanks for the kind words! It means a lot
Little Leo is lovely and plump! Well done. At 6 weeks Aidan was 5.3kgs but he also started out bigger than Leo, so Leo's gains are very good!!
WOAH! That would be very full on! We haven't been able to DTD yet as my stitches aren't healed properly. DH has been really good about it.
Pete and I are planning on having 2 kids about 2 years apart. We MAY have a third but most likely just the 2.
Ella, how do you find the time with two kids to DTD??!! haha I struggle to go to bed at the same time as DH! haha Good luck with your test this week. That happen with my brother and my nephews are 14 months apart..
O is doing the same things as I.. Its doing my head in!!! I feel like Im yelling all the damn time.. The worst part is now she wont listen to us and she does whatever the hell she wants.. (sorry frustration is coming out)
I can only do Tuesday this week.. I have to change daycare for I, looking into C&K, I have heard they are really good with their education for pre-school.. Otherwise Im free the week after on Thursday and the week after that Im free all week. lol
AS for your question about more kids.. If we had a bigger house, if we could afford them and if I didnt have to go back to work then yes we would have one more.. lol Its been on my mind heaps and Im not sure why.. Im happy with my two babies just not sure if thats the end.. I always wanted 3.. This pregnancy was like a walk in the park, and Peter is such a good boy. If DH wins the lotto we said we would go for no 3.. lol sad aye!!
Blondie, my internal stichersn still hurt.. I can stand up and get this burning pain on my right side, asked the ob and he said that my internal stichers are still healing..
Hows Aidan doing on FF? Which formula did you pick? You know BF is hard work and from what you said all that pumping and feeding would have been very stressful. I personally dont know how you managed, if it were me Peter would have been on the bottle a long time ago. You should be really proud of your effort!!
Hows did Aidan go with his Circumcision? How did you go with it too?? Is he ok?
Blessedmum, have you picked a theme for your baptism? There is so much to organise.. lol
afm, Did I tell you all how she wet the bed and they grabbed someone elses skirt and left her without any undies on from 12ish until we picked her up.. They said I had no undies or clothes in there, bull@#$# someone took I's clothes..
Anyways we had a lovely day today. We went down the coast, well to the shops.. lol Got a fanastic buy!! I had asked my brothers ex what she wanted for her bridal shower/hens and she said they needed knifes and forks.. So today I thought stuff it.. She is gone and Im going to get my brother a nice set! So I found these new moden ones.. now get this there a set of 30 something like 6 settings they had them reduced from $299 down to get this ......... $59!!! then take another 20% off!!! I got two for $94!!!! Apparently they are 18points which is very good and a very good brand too.. So happy cant wait to give them to him!!
His ex rang me today while we were down the coast today and was complaining over the ring. My brother wants it back, because it needed something to be fixed on it. She went on and on.. My brother told her if she doesnt return it he will have no reason not to report it missing to the cops.. I told her to return it cos she cancelled the wedding and not him.
My parents bought her a wedding present of a gold locket thing, (which they gave her to her at christmas - a month before the wedding) and I told her that needed to be returned back too. She goes 'oh yeah I was going to go and drop it off to them'.. I go, 'no you come and drop it off to me', she then goes 'why are they #$# at me too'... Well lets think about that!!!! You broke their sons heart, he lost 20k on the wedding that you cancelled and didnt pay for and umm Oh I dont know his business was lost in the floods! grrrr
I rang my brother and he said all he wanted to do was get the ring fixed and keep it incase she returned back. He said at the end of the day she only wore it for a week or two. I thought the rule was if the female ends it you give it back and if the male ends it, the female keeps it. Has that changed??? Anyways I love being stuck in the middle.. Told my brother he needs to get legal advise cos I think he should sue her as she broke the agreement and therefore she should be liable for the 20k. Did I mention this is the 3rd time she has done this, with 3 different guys..
Sorry for the rant but its just bugging me.. What woman does that! Seriously! If you second thoughts before you put the ring on why bother saying yes and start planning a wedding at Plazzo Versace!!!
Eng- I'm not sure how we find time lol. I'm trying to keep it happening so we don't go into a slump but DF is not so much on board. Got really upset last night and told him I don't feel like he is attracted to me anymore.
I can't believe the day care did that. I would have been furious!
Blondie- How did the circumcision go?
AFM- worst nights sleep ever. Leo slept 8 hours straight but O was up screaming and slept half on top of me in our bed all night. I'm desperately wondering when he will start sleeping through in his bed again.
Have to get Leo's needles this week. I hate doing them!!
Have a nice Sunday everyone.
xoxo
Blondie - It really sounds like you've had it tough! Good on you for lasting so long the way things have been, you are a strong woman - you got through a challenging birth & BF under those circumstances! You obviously tried your best. Just a question, did you ever seek the advice of a lactation consultant about your BF issues? I had access to some at the private hospital I gave birth in, and whilst I didn't need much assistance, the advice was really good & helpful as a first time Mummy. Well, I hope you're starting to feel better now!
Heidi - How's your little one going now? I hope she's all better after those horrible sounding side effects from the vaccinations. Poor little darling!
Ella - I never imagined being a Mummy could be so amazing, beautiful, exciting, wonderful & so very rewarding. DH & I ideally would like anywhere from 2 - 4 children, depending on circumstances (finances, etc). We want at least 3 years apart because we want to spend quality time with each individual one as a baby. Like atm, I could not imagine having a baby any time soon because I am so caught up & involved with my little boy, I wouldn't want to add another bub into the mix until he has some sort of independance & doesn't need me & my attention so much, if you know what I mean.
We had a very colicky stage that lasted about a month with Damian when he was around a month old. He would cry & cry & cry, mainly in the evenings too. Have faith, it is a phase! He still has his off days, but he has improved heaps as he has become much more interactive etc.
Blessedmum - I have done HEAPS of research into vaccinations and DH & I have decided that whilst bub is still exclusively breastfeeding & at home with me all the time (no daycare, other babies etc) we are going to delay his vaccinations & introduce them slowly as I don't want to overload his little system with all those viruses just yet. But we will do them, just in our own time, at our own pace.
I often hear about siblings having completely different personalities, even though they are raised the same way. Well, I should know this, my sister & I are complete opposites! Sounds like you have a lovely balance there - I can imagine your girls getting on real well in the future too.
Eng - My gosh I'm sorry to hear about what happend with your DD at daycare. I would have been soo angry! Good on you for changing daycares, I would too. And your brothers ex does sound really cold & horrible - I hope he gets the ring back & everyone can just move on.
AFM... My little Damian seems to be hitting a growth spurt!! He has doubled his feeding times (day & night) the last 2 days & is not happy or content unless he's on the boob. Wow, I'm really feeling it & it's making me so sleepy! But I am happy though because the last few weeks at some of the feeds he kept pulling off & crying like he didn't want it when the milk came so I'm happy he's feeding properly & really well again. He's such a big healthy, happy boy A few more weeks then he's 3 months old! OMG time is fllyyying! I don't want him to grow up lol! Been having lots of fun with him lately with his gorgeous big smiles which has been wonderful.
Danni, I tried remembering how I did the link to get my birth stories in my sig but I am not really sure but here it goes anyway.
(and I am really sorry but I don't know correct terms for computer things)
Copy the address that comes up when you are on your birth story.
Go to edit my signature and type in whatever you want the link called, ie Birth story. Then highlight it.
Then in the section where you can change font size, colour ect, there is a little earth icon with a chain link looking thing. When the cursor goes over it it comes up with Insert link.
Click that and paste the address and that should work. I hope that is right.
Sounds like your little guy is a real little gem. Been a mum really is the best thing that happens in life. I understand you reason for waiting to vaccinate. I got Macey's done at weeks because of the fact Amelia goes to day care. I know vaccines can take up to 2 weeks to fully cover a baby so I took advantage of holidays to make sure she would be covered when Amelia went back to day care.
Eng, you have every right to be ****ed at the daycare. I would be too. How did you go changing. I hope your brother has some good luck soon. We are just having a plain baptism for Macey, we had so much trouble getting a church that now I just want simple. Our local parish does not do christenings and whenever I rang another church they would say go to your local parish, well I can't do that, so I had to use my Aunties address to go to a church a few suburbs away.
Blondie, I hope your stitches are starting to heal for you, my internal stitches took along time after Amelia. I know they normally take up to 60 days to disolve but mine took a bit longer. Made me glad not to have any this time. Hows your little laughing boy going with adjusting to formula?
AFM, Macey is so funny, she startles herself when she gets excited and makes high pitched noises. She is also a huge fan of nappy free time, her legs go 100 miles an hour. Poor Amelia has a cough again, she was coughing so much last night so I sat up with her in the lounge room and occasionally gave her a bit of honey to coat her throat, works great but does not last long. She finally feel asleep around 2:30am. She woke up much better today though. I can feel myself getting sick so I just hope Macey does not catch it.
Totally non baby related but OMG did anyone see the Raffael Nadal, Armani advertisements on sunrise this morning. I am now a huge fan of tennis.

: Forgot a step in my probably no good instructions.
Thank you Blessedmum! Your instructions were perfect Damian also loves his nappy free time too... so cute! I hope Amelia gets better soon, last night sounds awful. Take care of yourself too! One of the best things about BF is when you're sick your milk will give your bub antibodies to protect her from whatever sickness you are carrying. So hopefully Macey won't catch it then! Take care of yourself.
The Circumcision went well, and its almost all healed. Poor little darling screamed the whole time - didn't hurt him but he was just scared at being with strangers and separated from me, that night was interesting. I spent most of the night up attending to him. Panadol every 4 hours (just in case he was feeling any pain) feeding every 2 hours and lots of cuddles. Thank GOD they only have to have it done once!
Thanks also for the kind words about BFing your all so wonderful and supportive.
ahh Aidan needs a feed. Be back soon for more personals!
Danni, Thankgod I got something right. I am hopeless with computers and had someone else on here show me how to do links the first time I tried.
Macey has a little bit of a blocked nose but that is it, so hopefully that clears soon. I actually squirt some breast milk into her nostrils just before a feed and it actually helps her to breath when feeding. A really old midwife told me that and she was right.
I had another long night with Amelia. She was coughing alot and ended up throwing up twice so once again I slept with her in the loungeroom. She slept on her flip out lounge. Even though she is sick she is still such a good girl, she is not sooky and still has a big smile on her face. I feel really bad today, my head is pounding and my throat is killing me. I am just really lucky that Macey is a breezey baby because I have zero energy today. I do not usually let Amelia watch TV, only a few shows in the morning but today will be an exception to my rule I think.
Blessedmum - That is really interesting about the breastmilk! My gosh it sounds like it's good for so many things! I will definately give that a go one day if need be. You sound like such a good Mum - I think it's great you limit the time Amelia has at the TV, good on you. I really hope she starts to feel better... and you too!!
Blondie - Aw I feel so sorry for your little guy. I really hope he starts to feel better real soon
AFM... Looks like Damian's growth spurt is over. It lasted 2 days but omg I can feel it in my boobs!! They are back to being really engorged between feeds. The down point is, my letdown seems to have been quite strong, so Damian would come off the boob choking and splattering sometimes.. And just as I was trying to get my supply under control this happens lol now I have all this milk again! Hmm, hopefully it will settle down soon..
For you Mummies that are BF... have you found that your hair loss has increased? I read that BF does do that because of the prolactin hormone, and it's started happening to me the last week.. like massive chunks of hair I think omg thank god my hair is thick!!? I hope that settles down too!
Finally i come back to bb and catch up on everyone. So good to hear everyone and bubs are doing so well.
I wont even attempt to comment on everyone personally ive missed so much.
A bit of an update here: Dylan is now 10 weeks and 5 days, he had a check up yesteday and is now 63cm long and 14+ pounds (6-7kg) he is in the top 75 percentile He is now in 00's. He has outgrown his bassinett and now in the cot in my bedroom, unfortunately he is not sleeping throughout the night (so jelouse of the 7hrs sleepers). He was sleeping in 4 hour stints but now it is all over the place - he usually goes down at about 9.30pm then up at 12-1ish but then he can wake every 2 hours for a feed. I have found if i put him in bed with us he will sleep longer but im so paranoid that we will roll on him or something.
Someone said about imunisation - i got Dylans first needles done last week (i admit i nearly cryed when he screamed) and i plan on getting all his needles done. I know there is a minor risk of something happening but i think the bennifits definately outweigh the risk - but evey one has their own beleifs.
Dylan is progressing great, he is responsive and obviously growing well he has ticked all boxes with the health nurse. I also agree the best thing is to go to him when he wakes and get that big "hi mummy" smile. The other night i was listening to him for about an hour just talking and giggling to himself in his cot it was so sweet.
AFM - im doing well, all healled up from c section - i did get a small infection but that cleared up ok with antibiotics. I was only able to feed him for 6 weeks, i would have loved to continue to feed him but the way i look at it is 6 weeks is better than nothing - you can only do what your body lets you.
We went on our boat trip and came back a week ago, was sooooo relaxing and just fun times with the family. Unfortuately my mum and sister didnt come - dont know if you remember but my sis had her brain opp and had a 3 month wait period - she is doing great with minimal side effects. My mum chose not to come because of grandpop not being well - as it happened he passed away the day we got on the boat, its funny how she must have just known.
Just a question before i go - It is a poo question, the last couple of days Dylan has been having solid poo. We have changed formula so dont know if that is the cause or if its just normal for his age?? One thing we have noticed with us is with him having wind and poo probs we get very excited when he has a poo and take notice of what its like lol
Will try and keep in touch with everyone more often
We be back later but just wanted to let anyone intersted know that Chody had her beautiful little girl yesterday. Amelia Leonie. What a fantastic name.
We had a busy and hot Australia day..picnic at the Georges River with the 4wd club which was nice was parnoid about Isabelle getting sunburnt but luckly she didn't. Pretty much shoved the bottle in her mouth when every she was unsettled as well as was worried about her getting dehydrated. Then we went to dinner at my parents as my nephew was 17 yesterday.
I had her weighed on Tuesday at the chemist and she had put on 1.2kg since the last time she was weighed there about 5 weeks ago so very happy with that and it made much more sense than what the dr's scale said.
tommorrow we are off to Nowra for the day to visit my partners mother, she has made 7 dresses for Isabelle
Tammarra Isabelles poo was quite firm to begin with, it was like watching a soft serve machine if you happened to have her nappy off at the time. They are nice and runny now but very very green. Perhaps offer some boiled water in between a bottle if he fusses between a feed, or even add 10ml extra water when making a bottle up I found it made a difference. Isabelle goes every 2-3 days so it is a big deal in our house as well.
Awesome news out Chody... Cant believe she has had her baby already.. Im so happy for them.. Yes Blessed its a lovely name!! hehe
Tam, sorry to hear about your grandfather, I hope he is resting in peace now..
Your little man is doing really well.. not sure if your interested but you can by a nursing cot that attaches to your bed. That way you dont have to worry about squashing him. As for his sleep, normally they start to settle when they hit the 3 month mark.. So not too long to go..
As for the poo question... Peters is bf only at the moment and his are always runny and yellow. Every time I go to change him there is always a yellow splash in there. lol
heidi, sounds like you had a lovely Oz day with your family. Its good to get out and about. Sounds like someone is going to get very spoiled from her grandmother.. hehe
Hello to everyone....
afm, well my baby is 3 months old already! Cant believe it! He has been doing awesome on the sleeping!! He can sleep anywhere from 7 to 9 hours at night wakes for a big feed and then sleeps until 7ish. So Im actually getting a good rest at night now, just have to learn to stay up at night to do my house work so I dont have to do so much when the kids are awake.
Also Ireni seems a little better, but still over the top when it comes to her brother. I have booked her into a new daycare but Im on a waiting list. Im not happy with her dc as they are changing teachers again this week. so thats 3 teachers in 4 months!! Anyways no wonder why I have problems there.
Ok I best be off need to search the interent for reception venues for the christening..
Have a great day ladies.. and a big congratulations again for Chody!!
ps.. mmm thinks its time I ask for my avi to be changed.. lol

: added ps
Dylan has had GREAT sleeps the last two nights and ive gotten 6 hours straight - last night i think he slept a good 7 hours before waking so im happy with that. And since watering the formula down his poo has loosened a bit - thanks. I have looked at the little box things that go into our bed, i actally told hubby on wednesday that i would get one yesterday but he had a good sleep so i thought i would wait.
I am also organising Dylans christening - im a bit concerned that on march 6 the church will be ready, ive had two phone calls from them AFTER talking to the priest asking me to come in for a chat to organise things and yesterday to confirm if it was for march or feb so fingers crossed lol worse case senario we have a family lunch Does anyone know where to get little shoes for babys? ive tried looking online but found nothing.
How is your MIL going? And CONGRATS chody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay for Dylan and sleeping better!! Yay for mummy and getting some good solid sleep too!! Good to hear his poos have loosened up.. I would never have thought to water it down..
I think those bed things are a good idea but since I have Ireni in a bed so... next tuesday night my son will be in his cot.
I wish this christening was going to be easy. I really wanted a small christening and just with family and I have 50 adults and 14 kids.. Its going to cost around 3k's just for reception not including the cake and all the extras.
I was going to start Panayiotis on 1 formula feed per day but my boobs are massive and IM thinking we might do it tomorrow..
