We tried potato and sweet pumpkin the other night.. just the jar food and Chels loooooved it....but next week im going to make my own vegies. My health nurse said pumpkin is the best 1st vegie to try....and yes said the same about fruits too...dont start with them! I do however give Chels jarred apples!

tara - i started with pumpkin as the first veg. apparently potato can cause constipation - and as we were already having enough problem in that area as it was I have avoided it! I make sure now that Aston has pears once a day, as I have found that it helps his digestion. And Avocado is also supposed to be gentle to digest. So far all he has had is pumpkin, pear and avocado, all liberally mashed up with breast milk. I gave the rice cereal the flick, other then half a teaspoon in with the pears - more for the iron content. since I have done that things have improved in the feeding front. I'm taking it slow introducing new things, because of the horror we had to begin with. He is having two meal a day at the moment, and has for the last three days. I think he is teething though, we up in the night with a very distressed little man, who wouldn't feed, so I gave him some bonjella, then some panadol half hour later when he was still upset. he has very rosy red cheeks, and biting down on everything and anything.

Thanks tara - I am still feeling very sad about my friend. I think probably because I had GD as well when I was pregnant with Aston.... and I can't help but have the "that could have been me..." running through my head. It has made me sit and contemplate a bit...
added to that AF arrived this evening - I knew it was coming! I have endo, so I get quite bad pain, add that to the tired hormonal mess that I am...well...you can just imagine how fun it is at my house at the moment!

Good luck tomorrow with her needles Kim - aston reacted badly this time around too - which doesnt necessarily mean that Chelsea will...but if she is unsettled...well it will probably be that.

Thanks for your food advice Vicky. Did you end up getting one of those 'gummy teethers'? you can put bonjela on them and then let them chew on it. evie's found her rubber bath fish to be excellent teethers...those and her fingers.
I can understand you being upset and thinking 'it could've been you'. was that the only complication she had? GD? I just cant even imagine, her poor family, it just breaks my heart.
I have endo too so AF is incredibly painful..i hear your pain. You're obviously going to be feeling it more being stressed and upset so make sure you take some timeout for yourself

Thanks Taralee - Aston slept so much better last night - was only up once 11.45pm, then he woke at 5.30. I feel about 3000% better just for getting 5 consecutive hours worth of sleep.

ohhhh.... Kim *hugs* the last thing you need is Mummy guilts. You are a fantastic Mummy!!! Matilda dropped from 97% at 4mths to 25% at 6 months...her weight has stayed below the 20% mark ever since but her height is still at 90%. You can't shove more food into her, maybe try higher calorie foods. Like carrot etc...

Vicky I agree we are living under a rock in our happy baby group!!! I LOVE IT!!! Having to moderate can be so hard when there are fights that are personal and people have issues with parenting styles. I'm sure as they get older we may have things we do that we disagree with or don't like, but hey... I love our group!

KIM sophie is still under the 25% percentile she weighted 6.820kg at 6 months so dont worry, she happy healthy and doing what she suppost t0

Kim- I went through the same thing when Ella turned 6 months. The GP actually said "oh you're starving her!" (she was on the 15th Percentile) I was so miserable for days. But then Ella went through a growth spurt and at 6M 1Wk put on a huge amount.

I'm getting Ella weighed today so we'll see how she's going in that dept. We're not eating much today because the little guts ates sooo much yesterday

Kim - glad the needles went ok. Hope she is ok with it, and doesnt react too much. CHN drive me mad - dont they get that babies are just mini people who have individualites just like grown ups, which means they have different tastes, and food tolerances, and metabolisms! its drives me mad when bubs all get lumped "together"!

Ann - with Ella's cheeks I would never know that she was not being fed enough! like I said above - babies are all individuals! Is her cold all bettter now? any more teeth?

AJP - you said it in a nutshell - its about supporting each other with respect, and I think we all do it beautifully in this group. Like you said, while we may not necessarily agree - we respect each persons right to have a different perspective and approach. Wouldn't it be a boring old world if we were all the same.

Christy - It must be such a relief for you that you can be part of this group, and not have to put your moderator hat on too often in here. I'm glad that I'm living under a rock by the sound of it. I guess it takes all types to make the world go around, and like the classic saying goes - you cant please all of the people all of the time! I feel for Kelly though because I'm sure that she built this website as a way for woman to celebrate each other, and not pull each other apart. Long may our individual differences be celebrated and respected!

God I feel so much better - 5hours sleep and I'm on top of the world! lol

LOL girls I would sometimes love to know what all the fuss is about as well, but I stay happily naive.

Now as for our babies... someone please pass some sleepy vibes around!!! I think we need to find who has taken all our sleep away & return it please Although Vicky can keep her 5 hours because honestly I think she needs more atm...
