Welcome Nelly what is your DS name?
Oh Tara... your having a bad time with sleep. When we mvoed in here Chels turned into a horror, thought she was scared of her room. The only way we fixed it was to turn music on....she has a Pooh Bear light/monitor/music thing in one... yeah i go crazy hearig it everynight thru the monitor but it helped a million! Hope EVie settles for you soon....im not sure what else to try, perhaps sleeping in her room til she falls asleep and then when she wakes reassure her everything is ok...even if u just sit in her room....
Goodluck tho
Im hoping for another good day inFDC today... i can only hope!! Had her in bed at 7.50 last night so want to keep that up and get it back to 7.30 like before we moved and she was disrubted!
Hi Nelly, welcome to our little crew. feel free to make yourself at home...i'm sorry to say your bubby is seriously outnumbered on the gender front..altho he might think thats a good thing
thanks kim, i'm sooooo hoping for a good night's sleep tonight (i think ive said that every night for the past month) evie started coming down with a cold today so lets hope she'll still sleep.
that fall off the bed seems to not have affected evie at all, thank goodness. i just wanted to die, i have never felt so terrible in my life. i rang dh at work to tell him and there was a long pause and...."is she ok" i said yes, he said ok i';ll see you later and then that night he admitted he was a bit angry, which is fair enough, i was careless but i said thats fine because i'd have been mega-p!ssed with him too! anyways shes ok so thats the main thing.
still trying with some solids altho its not really happening, i'll just add it to my 'bad mother' list
Tara- You are NOT a bad mother.. stop beating urself up....Evie is healthy and growing so you are doing everything right
Chels has fallen off the bed twice now.. first time she cried.. the 2nd time she thought it was a game, laughing and tried doing it numerous times again...cheeky bugger.
Nelly- Love your DS name...def out numbered on the boys V's girls in here...think theres only 3 boys? (Aston, Cooper, Logan)..soz if i missed any handsome boys! The rest are girlies!!
hi girls - tara - aston fell off the lounge yesterday - if that makes you feel any better. laura was more upset then he was! he was sitting next to her, and decided to learn to fly!
Hi Nelly - I'm sure aston wont mind sharing all his girlfriends with your son Jake - welcome on board.
hi everyone else. not doing too good today - long story - but hugs all round to everyone having horrors.... catch u in a few days I think.
Feeling pretty run down myself atm... Jovie's been okay. We went to the baby expo today in Brissy and got heaps of free samples & I won a competition!!! I won 6 hours of baby sitting from a nanny service. WOOT!!! DH said I should book a haircut and pamper session.
Welcome Nelly - I've gotta say we are considering control crying as i am useless on 3-4hrs sleep. Does Jake use a dummy? or did you go cold turkey?
I had a meeting today at work. Luckily i only had to speak for an hour but it was so tough. My eyes felt like i'd washed them with sand and my voice was hoarse. I had to rush home and have a nap!!! haha. My MIL was taking care of Ella so i didnt have to worry about her nap times. Not looking forward to tonight...
Tara - i know EXACTLY what you mean. I cant remember when Ella slept well. I do believe a lot of it has to do with her weight. I've no idea what to do either. I'll get her weight up and see what happens.
It sounds like some of you are in the same boat we were. Sleep deprivation is a form of torture after all and I know exactly how you feel operating on broken sleep with the longest bit 2hrs! New to this so if I miss replying to you individually I'm sorry!
Luua - Jake refused a dummy from day one and consequently I have a huge jar with one of nearly every type of dummy available in it! We had a rough night the first night, well I didn't cos I was off with the fairies, but DH said he woke at 11 (usually when he want his first night snack) and it took an hour to settle him and he screamed the house down. We went the soft CC approach and worked up in 2 min intervals on the first night. He then woke again a 3 which is normally his next snack and settled in 20 mins, then woke at 6 or 7 for breakfast. That was the worst night. After that he woke 3.30 for the next few nights, then 4, 4.30, 6 and sometimes 7. This morning went back to 3.30 but he has a bit of a cough and he had a coughing attack.
Congrats Christy at the baby show. Was thinking of going but we have suddenly got busy this weekend.
Vicky - thanks for sharing the girls! Jake is used to being the only boy all my girlfriends bar 2 (out of 10) have girls!
If it helps with the falling off the bed thing - my girlfriend has just taught her 8mth old to crawl off the bed backwards.
Sorry was going to come in last night but got stuck in the cha room - damn it's addictive!!!
we had a crap night last night not with sophie but the DOG!!!!!!!!!! up at 3.30am with him barking, barking barking!!! he's getting worse, so inside he came and cried ans scratched the door, so back out, crying whinging, back in and on our bed,it was the only way he would sleep. so an hour after all this started and 10 mins after were all in bed, sophie wakes up!!!!! she went to bed with a temp so poor sausage is sick. so today i;m like a zombie, had a shower, got out ans realised i didnt even wash myself, made a coffee and forgot to boil the kettle, anyone want a dog!! i think we'll have to give him away
Christy - woohoo on winning your prize. that sounds fabulous, and I agree with DH - use it to do something completely frivioulous that is all about YOU! thanks for your reply too btw
AJP - we had a crap night here too. up just about every hour, so I feeling tired cranky and over it all. not sure what is going on - whether its his tummy (i think he is constipated, or because he is trying so desperately to crawl...or a combination of the two..)
Nelly - I like the idea of that your friend did, teaching bub to crawl backwards of the bed.will have to file that one away for furture use.
Ann - big pat of the back - I don't know how you are doing it hun - broken sleep and meetings!!!
How you going Kim and Tara?
maybe we should rename our group the november broken sleep group....
IM going great Went out with friends for tea last night and had a blast....couldnt have asked for a better night. Chelsea slept like an angel for me...however isnt today cos daddy is home!! We are heading off soon to go buy a Baptism dress for next month.
I want to get M2's layby out but cant this week cos we have to see to the bills first..damn!!
And im stuggling baaaad not to spill the beans now....Craig said i was allowed to tell you all the gender but then there would be no surprise!!!!
Woo hoo Christy thats so awesome, that will be great to have some "me time"! u deserve it.
Tara -how did Evie go last night?
AJP - hope u have a better night tonight...we had to give our dog away when i was pregnant, she was always getting out and wanted to be inside all the time, didnt like to be alone. it was very sad giving her away but we had no other option.
Glad u had a great night Kim!! im with Craig, u can tell us!!!!!!!! im so impatient..can ya tell haha! not that far away now.
hope everyone has a good weekend, its my first weigh in today fingers crossed i loose some!
BTW...Nelly im addicted to the chat room aswell lol !!!
blech i'm sick! i never realised how much i do until i cant do it anymore! the guy at the chemist said cold&flu tablets will dry up my milk so i'm riding this out on tea and sympathy
on a brighter note, evie slept soooo much better last night! yay! she was in bed by 630 then woke at 9, 12,3 and then 530 but that was because her nappy leaked. so essentially every 3 hours but just had a feed and went back to sleep. yay! we are moving her into her own room tomorrow, but lets hope she has another good night tonight. plus, she put herself to sleep this morning! woo-hoo
my sil had her baby last night too. she wanted a drug-free waterbirth like me but went in 10 days over due on thursday night, had 3 lots of gel and nothing happened so had c-section last night. 10lbs 2oz baby girl (good thing that was cut out!!!!) named Autumn Jade, she looks like a little eskimo, shes so cute!
AJP- urgh at your dog!!! How old is he? Where did he sleep before Sophie came? Does he sleep somewhere different now? Are there baby possums around... meaning the mum is out more scavenging at night....
For a dog to suddenly start barking more at night, there has to be a reason & its easily fixed... do you want to send me a PM?? We'll see if we can get it sorted for you *hugs*
