Boomba honey OF COURSE YOU ARE WELCOME!! We've missed you!

    Leila Hazel born 30th October

JB, I'm glad you like the name! Yet another good night for us - little girl just loves being on her tum! Funny because this morning when she woke at 6 I thought, maybe when I put her back down I'll try putting her on her back and she may be fine. I left DH to settle her while I tried to get some more sleep - an hour later DH brought in a screaming little baby who just wouldn't settle! A quick top up feed then down on her tummy and she's one happy girl, sleeping soundly

Rach I was looking at those monitors online yesterday - would you really recommend one? I was worried I was being too paranoid about it all but hey if it is reliable and gives me peace of mind then it may just be worth it as I find sometimes even though Leila sleeps well I'm a little restless constantly listening out to hear her breathing! During her day sleeps I tend to go in and check on her too - just to make sure she is ok! There seems to be 2 on the market that are worth getting, the angelare and babysense and I'm unsure which would be better. Would love to know your thoughts / comments. Thanks

    Hi Mums!

I have just caught up after being MIA with bub for the past few days....

Seems like some of you ladies are having a horrible time with BF and sleeping.

I don't want to gloat but my bub has been exceptionally good... sleeps in 5-6 hour blocks during the night (wakes once for a feed then back to sleep within 30 mins). During the day he has a couple of naps also (usually about 1-2 hours at a time).

I just wanted to post up for Fi - i have the Angelcare monitor, i think it is AC 401.... it is fantastic and i have had no problems with it so far. I don't have bub in a basinette atm, he went straight into his cot which is at the other end of the house so monitors were a must for us to hear him at night... we figured if we were going to get them we would get the sensors as well and they are great (the alarms have only gone off when i have picked up bub and forgotten to turn off the monitor so have been reliable also).

got to go sorry but will be back for more personals soon!

Look after yourselves and forget about the housework!

    Hi ladies,
well im just comming in for more of a vent than anything else.
DH and i are having quite a few problems, even tho he is 5 hours away we still manage to argue like crazy
anyway, this morning he was being particularly nasty to me and i told him if it wasnt for Alissa i wouldnt be with him he told me "thats all i needed to know" and hung up and then he text me telling me that us having a baby was ahuge mistake and if i think im getting any of his things i better think again.
i dont want **** from him.
I text him back saying that, and also saying that i wasnt going anywhere coz he's already told me im not aloud to take Alissa from him. Im so stuck i dont know what to do. I love him with all my heart, but he's so controlling and sometimes so nasty that i dont even know why i fell in love with him in the first place.
No one needs to reply to this, coz i know what your all going to say, the same thing that everyone else has already said to me.
I just needed to get this off my chest.
I hope everyone is having a better day than i am lol.

Stevie, huge hugs hun.. I'm not going to say anything except for - wait for it - I know how you feel.. DH last night AGAIN used the excuse of 'but I have to go to work' and all I said was 'Ah yeah, keep using that excuse'
I honestly sometimes want to just shove a sock down his throat (or worse) and give him a kick up the butt and say 'If your not gonna help out, just leave us alone'

Amber - Of course your welcome - Adding William to the list.. William Robert, born 21st Oct @ 6:56am

Will be back later - spending the day with MIL - looking forward to it too, especially with how down I've been feeling

Oh Stevie I don't think anyone can prepare you for having a baby. Not only is it a huge shock to your system but it also puts HEAPS of strain on your relationships. Raising a baby on your own is really hard work and it sounds like that is pretty much what you are doing with your DH away so often. I'm not at all surprised that you guys are having a few issues but try not to let them get you down or become too destructive. You both really need each other right now and Alissa needs you too so try to hang in there and be patient with each other. It's normal for things to be a bit crazy right now but I'm sure they will settle down soon.

Rach & Tammie thanks heaps for your advice, I just went out and got myself an Angelcare monitor!! Now we can all sleep a little more soundly.

Ok girls I have some super exciting news to share with you.... I have just handed in my last every uni assessment item!! I've been studying for my business degree part time while working full time for the past 4 years - squeezing in summer school subjects to try and get things out of the way as quickly as possible. It has been a long hard slog but now I can relax! I know I have already passed the subject so anything I get for this last assessment is pretty much just bonus marks So I now have a bachelor of business degree with a double major in management and IR/HR . Yay me!! Sorry - just so excited for myself. If any of you had tried to balance full time work with study you'll understand exactly where I'm coming from.

I'm exhausted now - time to have a rest while Leila is sleeping

fi congrats on the degree so exciting

Rach you poor thing i had bad fluid in my feet when i was pregnant.. it suced big time

Thanks for the hugs for before ladies its good to have somewhere i can go and vent and not be judged or have DH be judged coz its not easy.
But tonight he called me and told me that he called a helpline (i was shocked too) just because he can see what his actions are doing to me and he wants to fix it for me but mainly for Alissa. I just love my DH so much, it makes it so hard when he's always in a bad mood, and when he's so controlling over money, Im not even allowed to see my own Mum but seriously the Mum thing is another issue altogether.
    Goodnight my ladies
    kisses to bubs xxx

Ok ladies this was my Saturday.
We were meant to stay at my cousins house in Melbourne....
After a great morning at the aquarium (a treat for Annabelle being so good with Lucy) we then go to the new DFO in South Warf. After spending ALOT of money on both the aquarium and DFO we get to the car and cant find the key to start the car, it had broken off the rest of the keys a few weeks beforehand.
After looking everywhere, we figure we need another plan and cant be in this car park any longer with 2 babies!
So 4hrs have past full of sitting in the car park calling locksmiths. I then called mum and she did the same for me from her net. She found someone to do the key for $450 As the key is computers, forcentral locking! Then both Dps phone and mine went flat! Thank god mum organised then man to come to us.
We waited till 8pm still no man So we decide to go stay at the Hilton which was next door
So that cost us $500 too!!!!!
The man showed up in the end and fixed it for me. But I have now noticed he has recked my car door, its dropped a little and is making a clunking noise
I wake in the morning and low and behold, theres the damn KEY!!!!! I must have got stuck inside a nappy in my bag, so when we looked in my bag we should have shaken the nappies not lift them!!!!!!
Fi- WOW! You must be very proud Well done.

Rach- Are you taking anything for the fluid?

Boomba- Welcome! Glad to see you in here

Tammie- You lucky lady what a great sleeper you have there!!

Well ladies Lucy is great BUT she's having alot of saw bellies During the night the worst! Last night I was so tired, I feel terrible as I got mad at her I was still kind of asleep and I was like, "What! What do you want" Then came the "I cant do this!"
haha silly woman I am! I have heard of silent reflux, can anyone tell me the symptoms???

Fi- This is normal. I know crazy but very normal Having a baby takes time to settle and being so far away from each other prob isn't helping. So you need to put that extra effort in
Its great hes called soemone about it. This proves he loves you and Alissa and is trying to fix the problems
We all say things we dont mean, other then some stupid things he said, sounds like you have a good man.
The controlling part of it, I dont know enough about your situation to give advice. Hang in there.
