Hey all it depends on the suck if she sucks my finger hard I feed her but usually it's a soft half suck and her younger is different and she's asleep after 20sec where as if she's hungry she will keep going and not fall asleep, also her last weight gain was really great so I'm not worried about that Her last gain was 455g in 2 weeks

I have also noticed alot less big vomits since I stop comfort feeding and I think her body is trained for 3-4hr durind the day

Heavenly - I'm not as afraid to use a finger or dummy instead of comfort feeding for an hour, too; I recently read my Breastfeeding Naturally book and in it there is a sentence in the Oversupply section that says a way to deal with oversupply is to consider a dummy...now, if only they had that in the edition I read when DS was born!! Argh! I'm convinced that's why my supply isn't as ridiculous this time. DD is on a dummy right now cos I just gave her a huge feed and when it goes in her mouth her eyes drop. So, yep, sounds like you're on a winner with that finger!
Better night last considering DD had her vaccinations yesterday! DS was a lot quieter coming into our room last night, so that helped keep the Miss asleep.
Goat farm today, got a Christmas tree and now I'm at home after vacating for an inspection.
    Loving this rain, too!

hi all, sounds like everyones doing well, a few dramas but lots of bubs getting into routines and putting on weight.

cam that weight gain sounds fine for a bf bub, ur doing a great job good on u. i didnt realise you were circumsising either, how was that for u? i would have been so scared if it was my bub, just so worried about the pain... not that he'll remember it anyway, but i can imagine u were a bit worried.

oz ur bubba is such a good girl!

maya sounds like things are getting better, but still a rough trot for you. hope the offers are good ones and u can find something soon.

serenity sounds like shes doing all the right things, thats great to hear. hope her weight gain continues

erybery how are you, how is your dd?

afm sos is the best thing ive ever done, i wish i could find the lady who wrote it and give her a big old smooch to say thank you. the first day and a half was hard, getting dd out of her snack feeding habit, but after that shes has been great, its like she read the book too! this week she is a bit unsettled as i have had her in and out of her routine with our weekend away, and its week 8 so im expecting it to continue as ive heard this is a killer week. but she is giving me 6-8 hrs a night and having daytime sleeps so i can get the housework done. it is absolute heaven. i know there will be nights she wont do it and we will run into probs with teething, and sickness and clingyness and things, but if i can get a fedw good nights a week im happy. i havent had a bad night yet since i put her on it, fingers crossed touch wood etc etc that this keeps going and i dont jinx myself.

anyway got housework to do while dd has a nap. hope everyones well

Hugs to YOU LJ Stick with your boy (as if you wouldn't anyway!) and you'll both come out on top for it - just give it up to him, it won't be forever and when you look back you'll realise this time was only a matter of months, not the years following where things weren't as intense. Even though different challenges arise, those first few learning curve months are packed with hormones, emotions, physically draining attention-giving, not enough nurturing from your partner - in many cases, not all, though it's also true for me - and your little person can't even say the words to form a "thank you". It's the 'wins' that carried me through, especially through the tongue tie and establishing BFing after the TT snip. Hang onto your 'wins' cos sometimes they're all you have!!

Jen82- Great to see you back! How great are those big smiles??? Everything just seems brighter when you get those. Sounds like SOS has worked really well for you and Miss Jade, my SOS book arrived today. We arent having problems at night but having a few settling problems of a day and I dont think Mimey is getting enough sleep through out the day.

erybery- Arent the little terrors just angelic little cherubs when they go out. We have had a few wild days of late and had to go to a funeral on Monday and Mime slept the entire time, smiling in her sleep when ever someone looked at her, we later came home to a big old tamtrum . At least everyone thinks their angels!

maya- . Your poor boobies, there really isnt much worse than aching boobs, it hurts to do pretty much everything when you have gashes in your nipples. Cant imagine what mastitis feels like but I sympathise with you.

Oz- Had a look at the website. It was great! Ordered my book straight away. Oh yeah, my chubba is 5kgs too! How quick they beef up lol.

Kelly D- My wonder weeks book arrived today, I had a read of the section I need now and wrapped it for a Christmas present since I dont want or need anything else!

Skybie- I know everyones bubs are getting older but I was shocked to read Iz was nearly 12 weeks! Gosh it goes so fast!

Cam- You brave girl on the circumcision. That was a big worry of mine if we had a boy. We were having it done but I was still worried about it. Glad that little Lukey is healing well. Mimey had bad baby acne at 6 weeks and it was when we went for our post natal appointment, it cleared withing 1 1/2- 2 weeks. You're jealous of my sleep and Im jealous of the laughs your getting....Im hanging out for just one little giggle. Im singing a Beyonce song to DD at the moment and Im getting big grins and quick breaths but alas no giggles ;-)

Heavenly- You must be doing something right, one minute Im reading 2.8kgs and saying to DH how great it was and then Im reading 3.3kgs, way to go Serenity!!!

LizJessie- Hi Hon! Great to hear from you. Hope everything is going okay with William.

I have a bit of a personal question , so dont answer if you dont want and it could be a bit TMI BUT did anyone tear and if so how much? That was the only 'problem' with my labour is I had a 3rd degree tear. Im just wondering how long you (if any of you did) took to not be at all tender in that area? I was bummed because I made a point of 'preparing' my body and birthed in a position that was supposed to assist with not tearing. Anyway thats it

Big hello to everyone else who hasnt been on in a while, hope you are all great!

Lilydust - I had an episiotomy and I am still tender down there. My Ob said that it will still be sore for while and that I am supposed to massage it daily so the scar tissue doesn't become rigid - I swear the pain of the cut was worse than labour pain!

Heavenly- yay on the weight gain, Ella is chubbing up and growing out of all her clothes!!!

Mayaness- I've been using the dummy to prolong her sleep and we actually had an 8hour one night a 7 hour the next and then a five hour and a six hur sleep last night! yay!

Jen- thanks for asking, DD seems to be settling down, much better at night but still wants to party in the day but getting used to that. We have her next hip ultrasound on Monday, hopefully there is improvement otherwise she will probably spend the next few months in a harness

Oz- bet DD has changed heaps since I saw her last!

Skybie - 12 weeks has gone soooo fast - to think you wre the belly buddy that started the threads bubbas being born!

AFM - Ella is 10 weeks old and has settled down a lot, not so much screaming and has strated to give smiles more often - very rewarding. Off to look at some pofessional photos we had taken today!

Hi all.....sorry I have been missing for so long I am a terrible Baby buddy lol
I havent read back on all the posts yet but it sounds like we are all having our own little dramas but all and all the bubbas are going and progressing nicely.

Well my little Laicee girl is having formula as well as boobie juice now...at our last visit for weigh ins and needles she was underweight she hadnt put any weight on at all since her 6 week check up so I was on a mission to fatten her up....I of course beat myself up that I was starving my poor child etc etc etc...i have snapped out of that much to the relief of my friends lol. and I am pleased to announce she has gained 600 gms in 2 weeks bringing her up to where she should be. I have 4 children and can honestly say I am still learning each and every one of them has been different and a challenge in their own way.

i hope everyone is doing well and is happy and healthy xxx

nina- Great to see you back on board. Fantastic news about Laicee's weight gain! Well done little miss.

ery- thanks for sharing about you episiotomy, Im not glad your still tender but its good to know Im not the only one still tender 2 1/2 months later! They never mentioned to me about the massage but it makes sense. I dont know about the episiotomy but when it came to stitching me HOOOOLY!!!! I was offered a general and demanded to stay awake, then I was offered gas for the stitching and being on cloud 9 and in the 'I can do anything' frame of mind I stupidly replied 'I just birthed a baby, I dont need any gas'! I recall about 14 local needles . How were the photos?

skybie- thank you too for sharing about the tear. Glad you have healed well, hopefully I will be all good very soon! Co-sleeping is just lovely...but that arm it aches like nothin else! DD is put in the bed between us and somehow I end up with no bed and Mime and DH have all the room in the world!

Heavenly- Did you have photos done? Did I read that or have I dreamt that up? lol.

AFM- we hve been reading our SOS and we are going better than expected so far, napping perfectly but DD is having a few issues with resettling and moving into a second sleep cycle in the daytime, so is napping instead of sleeping. She was having a big sleep of 3 hours at 12pm (plus naps) but it just stopped all of a sudden and as I said she is struggling to move into that second cycle. Which leaves my little chook a real crabapple!

    Hi to all xx

Nina - Good to hear from you and thats great that the formula is helping with the weight gain. I have been getting Ella weighed each week as I am such a panicker! Don;t know why as shes always packing it on hehehehe.

Lilydust - The epidural was still on when they made the cut and stitched me up so it was only when it started to sting and ache a few hours later that I thought OH MY GOODNESS - this is the most incredible pain I have ever felt hehehehe.

The photos were crap as she was not smiling or even looking the slightest bit amused in any of the photos so I refused to buy them, I said I'd try again another time.

Heavenly - Profess photos always cost a mint so annoying!

    AFM and DD - Her 2nd hip ultrasound was toda and they have improved so the ultrasound lady said she wouldn't need to be put in a harness! Yay so happy, still have to wait for official results from the paed but fingers crossed. Ella slept for 8 hours last night - amazing what a few extra hours of sleep can do for you;

Hugs for all you girls and the babes! xox

Our professional photos turned out too great to pass up, and even though DP just took on a job with a pay cut (but far more cerebral stimulation!!) I had to order them - more than $400 worth  Easier to turn down photos when the photographer isn't so flash...beware when you choose a fantastic photographer!! I should have realised that, but when I think about it, it's what I wanted - some great photos to document where our family is at, and photos that are a slight departure from the usual portraiture
Nipple thrush healed, wet cough is a dry cough and fading now, DS still loving his sister ridiculously, supply has settled right down (I thought that was for other people and that after last time I would be lumpy and overproducing for months, so it's a nice surprise!) and having lots of chats with my miss.
Glad all is happier for you, Selina!
Gonna see about a nap before boys return home...

    Hi Ladies

Filling in time before I get Luke up for his last feed for the night. Dh has gone to bed but I can't because I will fall asleep and miss this feed. Did that the other night and had a hell of a night and we were both cranky all day.

Maya - sounds like your world is coming together beautifully
Erybery - great news, fingers crossed for you.
Heavenly - what a shame but at least you have some good photos. I can't beleive you DTD after 1 week, I was too exhausted to move!
Lily dust - good news as well with the SOS. Sorry was no help on the tear as a c section means those bits stay in place!
Nina - hello!!!!! glad your not beating yourself up but can understand why you would. the feeding and weight gain is one of my constant stresses.
Skybie - i love the snuggle of a co sleep but yes the dead arm is a killer.

AFM - not much to report, we have good and bad parts to the day. He seems to know when I need a break from him crying/being demanding and becomes an angel for a few hours which gets us back on track. We hit week 8 today and I remember you ladies saying this is a hard week so will look up the wonder weeks now and just have a read through to remind myself why things are hard for him. Otherwise Christmas shopping nearly done. Yeah!

    Hi Girls

It is quiet in here at the moment, it seems we are all busy with our little ones as they are all probably getting to the stage of staying awake longer and needing more attention.

Just wanted to drop in to update where we are at... Tara is 10 weeks today OMG, how fast time has flown... and counting down to Xmas and then we have a wedding over New Year and then Tara has her next weigh in. I think she has already passed the 5kg mark as she has now graduated to 00 clothes. The only 000 that she can wear are t-shirts and pants but anything that needs to be done up are just too small. Scary thing is, is that she fits the leg length on the 00 all in one suits perfectly, so who knows how long they will last her for. Also she has now started sleeping all night and generally wakes around 7 each morning and we are also now down to 4 feeds a day which means we are now able to get out of the house more as it is longer between feeds, this is a huge bonus for us as we live 30 minutes from our nearest town.

Oh, this may be TMI but AF has returned as well (not b/fing) which I was surprised happened so soon and wow it is really heavy, just like after having Tara. Will be interesting to see how long she stays for and when the next one turns up, I'm curious to see if my body has now realised after all this time what it is suppose to do .
