hi girls and bubbas - sorry sorry sorry i am sucha terrible baby buddy never posting!!! so i have jumped on quickly to read and hopefully put together an OK post... while Noah has a very rare day nap (if you call this time of day a day nap LOL).
DH has just flown out to NZ so I have a few nights alone with my little man, i hopehe behaves. he is still wonderful though has been a little more unsettled at night, but still pretty good by baby standards - but longer to settle at night and maybe a wake up at about 3 every now and then. i am NOT complaining!!
Sherie and MD - glad you had a fab meet up, great to see your faces too!
Fianne - so glad you are happy with your decision, i had some advice for you when i read your earlier post but you are happy now and all settled which is great and I am sure Max is doing so well with a mummy who cares so much.
Hayley - i like your romance idea. you will have to tell us what your card says each week and we can do it too! i was just thinking i need to make more of an effort too, we are so in love but i know that there are times i dont make enough effort.
Noni - hope the trip is going well.
Art - not long to go now! v exciting. So annoying about your ILs
Anyway I am going to post this before Noah wakes up and I lose my chance... big week for us this week, starting at childcare on thu, gymabaroo starts tomorrow and round 2 of the dreaded needles on fri...
Noah is still melting my heart every 5 mins. he started rolling this week and giggles at every opportunity.
So glad everyone is well - hope having FABULOUS weekends!
    xxx

Hi pregpan. Are you going back to work or just getting N used to childcare? Hope the vaccinations go well this time.

After a few days of almosts, we finally have raspberries! Well in honesty they are more spitty B's but W is very proud of them. He keeps pulling off in the middle of feeds to show he can still do them lol.

    It is hosing down here.

Haha, just heard W in the bath making choking sounds and DH explaining it was a bit stinky because he just let one go (DH not W) lol

LMAO Arte, Poor little guy - he's too young to be subjected to a steamy bathroom 'dad fart' I hope he recovered OK. its raining here too now, wasn't sure if we were going to get it or if it would pass us by, but its really coming down.

Hi Pregpan! Well done Master Noah for mastering rolling!!! he just wanted you to wait longer than the rest of us. While your DH is away, do you sneak Noah into bed with you for extra snuggles and cuddles? Alister has his vaccinations tomorrow too, but I am going to talk to the Dr about not having the RV one.

Was it Fianne talking about car seats in the other thread? Ours is a safe'n'sound premier and it says they can be turned front facing at 8kg, so we've always used that as a guide, but Alister and the girls were not 8kg, but got frustrated at not being able to sit up.

morning all! i am back already LOL!!!
Arte - I am planning my return to work, it will be rather full on when it happens (travel etc) in Mar or April so I am getting Noah used to the creche first. Also I kind of had to take theplace in Feb to ensure I would have one by Mar/April - it is crazy! I am nervous for him to go in but I am sure it is hard whenever you do it and I know he will be fine.. it is me who will suffer!!!
Sherie - hope A's vaccs go well. Ofc ourse I am nervy for ours after the little drama last time.. but I will give him panadol beforehand this time and take his temp every hour.. we are doing ti fri so that DH is at least home for the few days after. Poor little bubbas!
Re car seats - we just bought ours (got safe and sound meridian) and at kidsafe where i got it fitted they advised that you CAN turn at 8kg but they can stay rearward up to 12 kg. they said to leave it like that for as long as the bubbas can handle it as it is safer in their opinion. They also recommended not to turn til around 6 months for strength of head etc (though this would differ by bubs I guess)
Arte - that story about the fart is hilarious! Poor Will.
OK I am off to have bfast and get ready for gym... then later today Gymbaroo starts again for the year - YAY! Noah is going to be much more into it now than he was last year... he has changed so much! Was laughing to myself that I took him at 4 wks!! But at least I enjoyed it LOL!

LMAO Arte!!! that is so funny! S (pronounced Sa, not Sar, BTW - I remember you askign a while back) gets startled by the occasional fart, especially that car insurance ad with the big raspberry.
Pregpan sounds like a good idea to get him used to creche sooner rather than later if at all possible.
MD & Sherie sounds like you had a great time. How was your placement MD??
Leanne how are you going? hugs
Be back with the all-important brace news soon... buggered up & the review's today, not last week! She's having a ratty few days and has had most uncharacteristic crying in the wee hours so maybe the 3 month growth spurt??
We got the most awesome gift yesterday - a baby wetsuit!! Apparently these things rock when you take them swimming. PM me if anyone wants the details - we aren't allowed to post websites are we Sherie?
turd it - I always leave it too long to express any leftovers and now it's prob too close to the enxt feed. She's still a one-boob meal girl during the day but is starting to chug both at night...
Oh - AND CHECK OUT MY LOVELY TICKER!!

Very cute ticker Queenie! Good luck with getting the brace off today. W has always been a one boob boy.

Cally, hope all is going well with DH back at work

Pregpan, N will be fine at daycare, I am sure it is harder for the mums lol

Sherie, good luck with the vaccinations. Stick to your guns about the rotovirus, we aren't getting the next one. I think it would be more of a concern in high density living areas or if you used daycare.

hayley, cute photos! yup! definitely boobied baby.
queenie, ms s is such a cutie!
thanks for the car seat info. we tried her in normal (as opposed to bassinet) car seat yesterday and facing forward and didn't hear a peep of complaint out of her. she even just fell asleep without any cries or grizzling. just nodded off. so, even though she's only 6kg (+), i'm keeping her in the car seat facing forward. it's just so much less stress and safer all around for her if i'm not fretting while driving.
gl with the bubs having their vaccines.
sherie, how often do you give A infants friend. got a bottle coz' max is the same...wakes up crying with gas in the mornings. i'm just not sure when i should be giving infants friend or how often.
hello to everyone else. off to catch some zzzz'ss now. had the worst night in almost 4 months last night. up every hour.

I'm Baaa-aaack! Hopped on last night for a read but the brainio was still a bit tired from all that important librariany info. Thanks Sherie for filling everyone in on my unexplained absence. It got a bit crazy before I left for my residential school, the text I was working on was due, the computer died, the mastitis kicked in (always does when there's a deadline, funny that) etc etc. Got it done though, hope they like it Yes Hayley it was a revision of a book I wrote 10 years ago. All 26,000 words needed to be checked and updated (!) plus they wanted a new chapter as well. God I feel exhausted just thinking about it!

Like a crazy woman I left my breastpump at home and we had to just wing it, it meant DH and DD came back and forth from the uni when the Booby Lady was needed. However she was astonishingly settled the entire time away which has DH patting our portacot lovingly and threatening to get it out if E starts to Partay in the middle of the night! LOL Of course it's given him a ridiculously skewed picture of what a day at home with the baby is like which just proves they save up their best and worst for their mums (babies that is, not daddies)!

Missy E was the star of the residential school, ppl got used to seeing me pop a boob out during breaks and I had nothing but supportive BFing comments and compliments on my two gorgeous DDs the whole time. I think there were a lot of mums who'd left their kids at home to come and were missing them!

But of course the highlight of the trip was meeting our own fabulous Sherie who is everybit just as delightful in RL as she is online. And Sherie your kids are absolutely gorgeous too! I was thinking about what you said about them being 'easy' kids but I think it's actually a reflection on your parenting style and you should give yourself a bit the credit for it!

Arte - tell your DH to save his long white clouds for the Land Of (*Phew* dont you know there's a hole in the ozone layer above australia, it's probably all those heinz baked beans we eat in this country)! LOL poor lil kid choking in the bathroom air...

Queenie, good luck with the un-bracing today! Let us know how it goes. Sounds like you've got the BFing sorted out now - are you expressing often?

Pregpan, good luck with the whole creche transition! Are you excited to be going back to work? Gymbaroo sounds like fun and it's on our list of things to do as well.

Fianne I know it was a couple of days ago now but I just wanted to say how much I've admired all the effort you have put in to breastfeeding when it's been such a struggle the whole time! You should feel really proud of your huge achievement of feeding this long. Max is a little sweetie isn't she?! xxx

Hayley, agree with everything Sherie said re the eczema (DD1 had it) except to add that you might like to follow the allergy-history recommendations for introducing foods (delaying egg etc that bit longer). Missy E has only just now started tolerating longer times on her tummy (since she can reach for things and manipulate them) but any time they're not on their back (being held, jolly jumper, on your lap, etc) are all good for flat heads.

Wonder how Noni's going on her trip?

Cally, bebepod, we're still getting mixed results, she still droops over, I guess Betty's not as chobbalobba as I thought she was, there's still plenty of room in it!

Leanne, I hope you're feeling better, sounds like a crazy few days (an ambulance ride is *never* one of those things you want to experience) so a big

Ok, well I've got both DD's jumping around the room now, well one's jumping and the other one's just wriggling, I started this post I don't konw how long ago and still can't remember what I was going to say, H goes back to school tomorrow, back on the merrygoround LOL! This year we're going to make sure the teacher's all cued up on the auditory processing stuff so that DD doesn't spend the whole year wondering what she's supposed to be doing!

    WELCOME BACK MARYDEAN!

Glad your trip went well. W is drooping over in the Bumbo now, he swivels around and leans down to chew his foot (classy!). I think a highchair would be better at dinner time now because I could put some toys on the tray.

Hayley, with the change of thread I forgot to say how cute Miss M is. She has got a fair bit of chub on her lol. My niece was a chubba - she had cellulite between her thigh rolls but has turned into the most petite toddler

LOL at the long white cloud MD - Arte at least you're kinda near the thermal region! Tho Rotorua might have been more appropriate for your DH!
quote "I had nothing but supportive BFing comments and compliments on my two gorgeous DDs the whole time" - MD I read that as BBs and had to do a double take Re your q - m expressing when I get a good stash in the morning or when she doesn't fully finish: we now have 600ml in the freezer! It's more a case of remembering to sterilise the darn pump!
Good news about her hips - they look great, and she is free during the day; now we just have a couple of weeks of night-time wear to go. So guess who's going to get to do a lot of kicking, wriggling and squirming from now on?? Yay!

Well Queenie I nearly wrote "I had nothing but supportive BFing comments and compliments on my gorgeous girls" when I realised what that sounded like, looks like you beat me to the punchline there! LOL Trust you to be thinking of (.)(.)s ! Fantastic news about S's newly liberated hips, those weeks of nighttimes will be gone in a flash and she'll be wriggling around in her cot in no time!
