Viv - Your poor little tootsies! I would kick the wheels on my stroller in the beginning too, but was lucky enough to not have things as bad as you!

Trish - Great to hear your going back to your biz. It will be good for you as you say. I hope it all works out!

alz - I too have been having a bit of trouble getting Tiera down during the day for sleeps. I put a post in the BF support thread to ask for advise as I have been using the breast to settle her and put her to sleep. Now DH and I are worried I'm getting into some VERY bad habits, but just dont know what to do!

Went for a big walk earlier which was great! Cuz I've been in so much pain lately poor Tiera has bearly left the house. Its been too painful to walk further than the kitchen!!! Tiera seems to be much happier now and so am I. Think I might head over to the sshops later just for another outing.

Sleeping habits....Caitlyn has always only slept for 45mins-1 hr during the day. She doesnt wake up screaming or anything. Actualyl most of the time she is actually talking when she wakes up. I do wrap her at about 12 and put her to sleep and that normally gives me about 1.5-2 hrs of reprieve (time to do housework).
However nights.......last night I put her down at 615 and she slept until 345!!!!! I couldnt believe it!! I tried to push out her bedtime a little. Normally I pick her up from d/c at 5 and then home for a little play, feed(solids), bath, top up(bottle), sleep. So last night I picked her up at 5 and just played for a little longer. But by the time I laid her on my lap for a bottle she put her little lips around it and promptly fell asleep!! Silly little thing! Tried to wake her but nooooooooo. She stirred a bit at 8 but DH popped her dummy in and she went back to sleep. Am very happy about this turn around with sleeping. I do remember when I was up every 2 hours!
Now for the downside....DH leaves tomorrow to go to Townsville for a week!!
Not looking forward to it! I swear the less adult conversation I get...the dumber I get. Oh well...at least he is at home today. Cleaning, washing etc for me so that I wont have that much to do over the weekend. Silly man is going on the bus but riding his motorbike back next saturday! 800 km on a bike......ouch!
Trish- Seems liek you might sell all your ergo's before you get them on your site!! Let us know when you get them in hey??
Anyway - must head off and get to work.

Trish - wooohoo, solids hey?? I'm trying to hang off till 5 months, maybe even wait till 6, the boy is chubby enough on booby juice

Mo - I'm equally addicted! Haven't heard of those pockets before, might go check them out. What have you got in your stash? Mine's only small at the moment and don't have the funds to buy too many more just now. Might get one or two next pay.

Viv - all I have to say to that is OUCH and agree with Trish - GAAAAAH!

Alz - you have my sympathy on the sleep thing, BTDT! Pretty much same story here as Trish, we persevered and it seems to be improving. **TOUCH WOOD**

I just have to say that after 4 months of some bl**dy hard days - I am feeling FANTASTIC about this mummy gig again . THIS is how I remembered it, THIS is why I love it so much and went through so much carp to have another baby!

I just hope things stay this way now, more good days than bad!

Just a quick woohoo - Joel went to kinder without tears!!!! He actually wanted to go today, we had 15 minutes to go and he said "Let's go mummy!". So much nicer than crying "I don't want to go"!!! He again had a ball and I got to meet some mums because I didn't have to stand outside waiting with Joel while he cried lol! It turns out one mum lives practically opposite me and another lives a few houses up. We only realised today that we are neighbours! They were so lovely so hopefully we can strike some friendships up.

Sorry for the selfish post, but I needed to share

    Afternoon all

After such good sleeps yesterday last night was pretty ordinary. He was up at 1.15am and I did the dummy thing. Still unsettled. So I BF. Still unsettled. Give him a 200ml bottle of formula and he takes 100mls. Still unsettled. Decide to let him cry it out (I know...). Go back to bed and DH interogates me. He gets up and makes up another bottle. The little sod takes all but about 60mls. All this happend over a 3 hour period. So back to bed at about 4am and we were up at 7am. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Viv - can you sue the pram people for your toe injuries?? LOL Hope you are on your feet soon.
Willow - glad things are getting better for you. You certainly sound happier.
Trish- good to hear Joel was happy to go to daycare.
Alz - hope today was better for you.
Kate - hi! My L is now bigger than yours!
Rebecca - WTG with Miss C's sleeping.

Anyway, L is getting grumpy so I better get his bath ready and a feed.

Trish - thanks for the offer... I think I've almost convinced him. How long till you get them in? Do you really think you can carry a 25kg child in an Ergo without back pain? There is a stockist near where I live, so I might go and try one like you suggested. Glad to hear Joel liked kinder today

Pish - I was also having the same issues with Tahlia (re - feeding to sleep) and I read a great book called the No Cry Parenting Solution by Elizabeth Pantley and her breast feeding sleep association is slowly disappearing... it does take a while though. Let me know if you want any more info on the book

    Hi all!

Not too happy here. I just found out Liams ChildCare has moved him up into a different room with slightly older kids. I didnt think they had any right to do that without asking me??!! He has made alitle friend in the room he is in and they do EVERYTHING together. He has so much fun with him. And the room they have moved him into has 3 older kids, notorious for biting! Seriously these kids bite like 10 kids a day! I am not happy. I told them I wasnt really happy about it, but I think I might go in there next week and demand that I do not want him moving upo yet. The toddler room (the one he is in now) is ages 18 months - 2 and a half. Well Liam isnt even 2 and 2 months yet. Not happy!! Ive never really liked the director woman there anyway!

Anyway thats my little vent, hows everyone else?

Saffi - Sorry you didnt have the best night, hope tonight is better! Hows he been doing today?

Trish - Thats so great that Joel was happy to go! Such a relief for you hey?

Rebecca - Hope you dont get too lonely without DH - you always have us!!

Willow - So glad your feeling good! It does all get easier with time hey...

Ok, off to bed, talk tomorrow!

Rebecca - Have you tried a dream feed??? Just before you go to bed, pick her up and feed her, which may get her sleeping longer, or if you change her nappy to wake her a bit, she may change her sleeping pattern all together. It will take a while to get into the swing of things, but after a week or so you may just see a change. I did this with Tiera a few times as she was going 8pm - 3am back down til 6 the down to 9am. After doing this a few times (and a few late nights at the inlaws) Tiera started going 10pm - 6am down agin til 9 or 10. She has since changed her routine herself 8:30pm - 6am down again until anywhere between 8 and 10am.

Kellied - Thanks for that. I'll keep a look out for that. Its just really hard to know what can become bad habits and what is good! Some people have told me its normal and fine and she'll get herself out of feeding to sleep. You talk to others and they disagree.

Becky - That photo of Chelsea is just beautiful!!! Thats pretty ****y they did that to your son. I thought they did have to consult the parents before any major (or what may seem major to a child) move!!! I'd be furious!

Trish - Glad you got Joel off without a fuss. Hope he had a good day

Saffi - Hope you had a batter night last night

Crap night in the park last night. People up Hoo Harring til 2am. Having people ring the door buzzer complaining.... NOT FUN Was soooooooooo happy the buzzer didn't wake Tiera at all. But Tiera and I slept in until 9:15 this morning, so its not so bad. Poor DH had to get up n face work!

Anyways hope you all have a great day

saf - can't sue. they'd have an excellent case of contributory negligence against me for bashing into it... (tired etc).

trish - how long would you say you can comfortably carry a young'un in the ergo before you get the burning? james' baby bjorn air is getting too hard after about 20 minutes. john finds it easier to carry him but then that's no use to me when i need to.

need to tell you all about the pumpkin fiasco. i pureed pumpkin and ebm in a little container and fed it to the boy. he took three spoons then did the red/purple faced silent cry which then turned into full blown pain screaming. i don't know if it was the pumpkin or if he bit the spoon (which he never does with cereal). we could not console him for 10 minutes, even refused the breast (which he would normally have to be dead before he'd consider refusing it). so i gave him some cool ebm in a bottle and then put him back on the boob. he's fine now but *****, i think punkin is oouuuut.

i guess i'll just go back to 10 or 11 feeds a day plus cereal. poor kid. hungry but no goog on pumpkin. MIL says john was no good on pumpkin, and neither is FIL, so i blame the genes. i love punkin m'self.

toes are still a bit sore but i've been walking for a few days.

    Hey everyone!

Kim- yes I work 2 months fulltime twice a year the rest of the time I will be a SAHM and will do one university subject distance education each semester from next semester onwards.

Today was our first day in cloth nappies. I have been asking for "pvc cloth nappy covers" and all I got was confused looks and "we dont have anything like that" everywhere I've been till I went into the local toy/baby store and she said "oh you mean pilchers you can get them from Big W" went into Big W and asked for pilchers and they were on a self around a corner no where near any nappy things or really no where near anything! ARG! On the front of the pilcher it says "pvc cloth nappy cover" yet they had no idea what I was talking about!! We did a big poop in one this morning and liners do nothing! What are they? Cheesecloth or something? Should stick one of MY pads in it would catch more >.<. Besides that they are pretty good a little extra work but they are really soft, Ryan seems to like them. Still going to use a disposable for the night though because I don't think it would hold it all.

Starting to roll, had one successful roll this morning and is now spending most of his time on his side and grabs onto things to pull himself over (lazy lil mite lol). Has gone from wolfing down his farex to not all that interested so am leaving it for now he hasn't been wanting his bottle much during the day he doesn't drink the whole thing but has an extra 120mls before he goes to sleep for the night.

Not much else to report, hope all are well, Rys just fallen asleep on the couch so going to curl up next to him for a snooze

    Loves and hugs to all

    Afternoon all!

We had one of our best nights ever last night! Usual dreamfeed at 9:30pm and he didn't wake once until 4:30am (he usually wakes at 1am and 3am for resettling), I fed him and he slept through until 7:30am! Miraculous for us LOL. Another couple of nights like that and I might lose the bags under my eyes! I doubt it is to do with the fact that he had rice cereal yesterday, he only had it in the morning so I doubt it would have such a dramatic affect so quickly? I dunno, but I'm giving him more today and we'll see what happens.

Celtic - I can't believe it was so hard to find nappy covers! You can usually get them from Coles and Woolworths/Safeway too. How are you finding being a SAHM again?

Viv - I haven't gotten my Ergo yet (hopefully next week) so I couldn't tell you from experience, but from what I've read people can hold their bub in it for hours. As soon as I put my Bjorn on my shoulders ache! I can't WAIT to wear the Ergo, it puts all the weight on your waist/hips just like a hiking backpack and absolutely no weight goes onto your shoulders. Try one out at a baby shop!

Tiff - That must be so annoying having idiots at your tourist park! Some people have no consideration for others, especially after a few drinks.

Becky - Bummer about the DC moving Liam into another room. I would definitely request he be moved back. You are the one paying them, you should get what you want!

Kellie - I hope to have the Ergos in next week. I don't know what kind of delay the public holiday will make. I'll let you know when they're here!

Saffi - Hope you had a better night last night.

    Willow
    - It's so good that you are enjoying things now! It is hard work at the start, but it pays off doesn't it!

Rebecca - I'll let you know too when the Ergos arrive!

Anyhoo, better run, I just heard K fill his dacks! Have a great weekend everyone

    Hi all,

wedding was great, luckily we were all inside and reception started before the rain started plenting down. i did however drink too much without even realising all of a sudden i felt really drunk! so started kicking in the water.
ive temporarily lost the camera though... im hoping ita at our friends place we stayed but havent been able to get through to him. Ive rang the place the wedding was at cause its also a restaurant, nothing handed in..... i know i took a few pics of the garter/bouquet being thrown which was at the end, dont remember what i did with it after that. the memory card has so many photos on it. i have a lot of them saved on the pc but the last few weeks worth were not.
its a cheap camera but our good camera is broken so really need it back!!

Trish- thats great Joel was good for kinda!

someone's bub is fussing about the boob? (sorry i forget who) could it be AF on the way?? Like Viv recently, i remember having a lot of problems with Nixon at this time which is when af first came back..
i like your way of thinking viv in regards to bub fusing and eggs fertilising!

Tyron is still wrapped for the night time sleep only. i use the thingy witht he velroe so dont actually have to wrap, still happy with that one

    Hi everyone,
Had another shocker last night but that seems to be the norm at the moment. Not sure what else to do but at least dh is being helpful. He wasn't too bad this afternoon but E is not doing well tonight. DH is giving him a feed now and then we are all off to bed (hopefully for the whole night).

Gave Ethan some farex yesterday which he didn't really like, but tried again today. He was a bit better but still not really interested so I will wait another week and try again.

    Have a great night all.

    good morning everyone

Trish - thanks for that... we might go try one out today! Hope you had another good night last night.

Nic - hope you get your camera back

Viv - the pumpkin sounds like a nightmare! I dont particularly like it either, so we'll see how Tahlia goes when it comes her turn! Are you going to try another vegie? I've been told sweet potato is a good one for them too

Tahlia rolled yesterday! She was playing with my niece on the floor on her back, and I looked down at her and she was on her tummy. I asked my niece if she put her there and she said she did it herself, so I flipped her over again, and she rolled again! Hasn't done it since though!

Hope everyone is having a good long weekend (or is it just a long weekend in Melb?)

kellied - first thing i'm going to do is get a silicone spoon. the little plastic one is no good and i suspect he's in the throes of early teething because he keep gnawing on his finger on one side. i think it was less of the pumpkin and more of the spoon that upset him, after all, i had mixed it with ebm, and he's a sucker for that. he's probably built a negative association with pumpkin now! i have some sweet taters on ice for him but i'll give him a few days off before i do that.

Trish- yay finally some decent sleep for you! All the worries of the world seem that little bit less cruddy if you have a good nights sleep .

I'm liking being with Ryan all the time he's so happy and content all the time and so easy to entertain I try and take him out every day so he gets a bit of sunshine and I don't feel like a hermit. I'm wishing I had more to do but at the same time glad I don't because I know the motivation wouldnt last long. Loving the afternoon naps we have together.

As soon as I wrote he wasnt interested in his Farex he started making chewing faces at me so I gave him some apple instead of Farex and he ate the lot, took the spoon and started mauling it and wouldn't let go so just let him play with it lol. He still doesnt seem to like the Farex much but loves apple so will just give him some watered down mush and see how he goes. Had about 4 spoon fulls and I think 2 made it in the mouth not just all over the clothes lol

a question for the ergo wearing mums - are you able to feed bubs while they are in the carrier? I've read that you can, but I'm not too convinced
