    Evening all!

Happy 8 months to Kieran, Tahlia, Logan and (misskate's) Lachlan!!!!

Feeling pretty crappy today, very tired and have a massive headache. I think it's all just part of my cold. I've hardly gotten anything done all day! Ooh, I got another shipment of Ergos today though, the last lot flew out the door thanks to a few of you . I have a friend buying one on the weekend already so I'm sure they won't last long. DH and I are working on a new logo and a new look to my dodgy looking website. I'm hoping to become a BB market place member when the site is looking a bit better!

Claire - I've never heard of that rash before, can you tell me more about it?

Kellie - I hope you're feeling a bit better today you poor thing . Hopefully you can come to the next meet up.

Rebecca - Let us know if you try the pea and ham soup on C!

Julia - Poor Max, I'm glad he's starting to get better. K's rash has cleared up a bit since I put the cream on it, but he still scratches himself the poor lil man. I really have no idea what is causing it.

Mo - How did you go with the nursing home? Has your mum got a place there?

Saffi - I haven't taken K to the dr yet. I don't have a lot of faith in GPs and figure they'd prescribe the same kind of cream I'm using anyway. That's great that you'll be working 3 days for a while! Some more quality time with L. Hopefully you get a full time place for him soon.

Ange - Ouch with the biting! K isn't much of a kisser or biter yet...

Hope you all have a great night!

Trish Mum's already moved in, so far she seems to be adapting.
She's out eating & chatting so I'm feeling less crummy today, felt awful yesterday Mum hardly spoke to me if she did it was only to make me feel worse.
    Wouldn't even hug me goodbye.
Enough about me, I'm sure your all sick of reading about it!

Trish how exciting about your store, I'm sure it will look great once your done with it.
Hope K's rash goes away & you find out what caused it.

Claire i usually give M a taste of what I'm eating, but she not really that interested in food, still loves her bottles.

Happy 8 months to Kieran, Tahlia, Logan & happy 9 months to Myles

Ange - would be great to finally meet you when you're up here. Does Lu like younger guys??? Myles may have a rival for Lu's attention!
Claire - L has a very limited diet consisting of pumpkin, potato, pear, apple, banana porridge, crusts, sweet corn and sweet potato. Mostly eats porridge for breakfast, doesn't eat much for lunch and sometimes eats dinner. Been very slow in introducing new foods, but thinking I'll just go for it now and introduce more foods more quickly. Don't have a history of allergies so we should be fairly right.

L did a massive vomit tonight all over DH. We were just about to go out and L deposited a chunky milk/pumpkin mix all down DH's front. Noice.

Happy 8/9 months to Kieran, Tahlia, Logan and Myles.

julia - the blue taggy thing is evidently to seal it up tightly when you chuck it out. i'm still not exactly sure how it goes, coz it never seems right. i just do whatever... as usual.

about food - james has porridge early, morning tea of toast with vegemite, lunch of vegies, rice cracker etc, sometimes chicken, and dinner is vegies. sometimes i grate some fruit for him to pick at. just depends.

he's had scrambled eggs. he basically will have a bash at anything i'm having. porridge is his favourite though. no spoon for him, just fistfuls of it straight down the gullet (and everywhere)

Amber-I think you are right....mind you I am sooo clucky again its not funny! But not going back for a second one...dont think our bank account would survive that again so soon!
Now I have a question for all those using bottles.....are you still sterilising them?? An still boiling the water before putting in bottles??
Saffi-Do you do the sweetcorn yourself?? Is it the stuff in a tin and you puree it?? Caitlyn is pretty much stuck on the same sorts of vegetables here and we want to try different things (with the limited availability here). In saying that - she has some bok(or pak) choy in her vege pots this week.
There is only so much fruit that we can give her out here too so we are pretty much limited to pears and apples and honey, rock and watermelon and of course bananas. I saw some custard apples in the shop the other day but have never eaten it myself so wouldnt know how to prepare it. Is it too early for citrus (oranges mandarins etc)....god I am full of questions! Oh we didnt do the pea and ham soup yesterday - butcher can't get ham bones???
Viv-You give James a rice cracker? Cool - just the plain ones? Or is it a rice cake type of thing? Not the Sakata ones?
Ooooo this feeding baby thing is difficult!!

    Morning all!

Ange - I have a friend who's a naturopath so I'm going to ask her what she can suggest. I was also going to go to our local health food store and ask what they could suggest. K's chiro is also a bit of an expert in natural remedies so next time we go I'll ask him about it too.

Saffi - Gotta love the pumpkin spew! It really stains!! Good on L for hitting dad with it LOL!

Viv - Wow, James is going so well with food after your rocky start! I'd love to try some more food with K, but I'm worried about allergies now he has a rash.

Amber - I'm so glad Myles is still going well with sleeping in the cot. You will feel like a new woman soon!

Mo - I'm glad your mum got into that place. I'm sure she'll be happy there once she settles in. Don't ever apologise for talking about it with us, that's what we're here for and we are happy to listen!

Rebecca - I did a birth story too and am so glad I did because I would have forgotten a lot of it by now. I had such a great experience with K, I loved my labour! (Joel was a very, very different story...)

K is now clapping on command! Well, he hits a fist into his open palm, but it's close enough! I say to him "clap hands" and he does, so cute! Anyone else got any other tricks I can teach him?!

    Hi everyone

I also found that the No Cry Sleep Solution was great for reassuring me that what i was doing wasn't the wrong thing, seeing everyone I speak to seems to think it is!

Tahlia is still having 2 meals a day, she kind of went backwards a bit with the solids when she was sick, so I am trying to build up on the quantities at the moment. For those BF bubs out there who are eating any type of baby cereal/porridge, what do you mix it with? Boiled water, breast milk or full cream milk?

Rebecca - for freezing baby food, I just use ice cube trays and then when the food is frozen, I put it into labelled snaplock bags

Trish - hope K's rash clears up for you soon. Have you changed the stuff you use in the bath for him, or what you wash his clothes with? Way to go on the clapping... I'm trying to teach Tahlia 'all gone' at the moment when you put your hands out to the side when her food is gone, but she hasnt got it yet

Mo - glad to hear you mum has settled in well. Dont ever feel bad about expressing yourself to us, thats what we are hear for!

Happy belated 8 months to Kieran, Tahlia, Logan, and Happy 9 months to Myles.

Hope everyone is well. I am improving (slowly), if only I could get rid of this rotten headache and stuffed up nose. Panadol is doing nothing!

trish - it's very curious about k's skin. you never know. i'll say this - james had the squishy poos again the day i gave him a rafferty's packet, and he also had avocado that day. when he had cheese, he just looooooved it, but was a fartbag who was impossible to settle. no more dairy till 12 months methinks.

he's like a science project, i just put stuff in front of him and watch what happens. he even guzzled a couple of strawberries because i am a bit naughty. i know they're highly reactive but... it seemed ok... *cower*

i hope you work out what's making K patchy!

Thanks Viv! I stopped giving him the Rafferty's porridge since the weekend and his rash hasn't flared up since, interesting... I wonder what could be in it that would cause a reaction like that? I haven't tried dairy yet, now your making me scared!

Kellie - I don't put anything but water in K's bath. Even Joel still only gets washed with water, I have sensitive skin so assume my boys will too. I've been using the same washing powder since K was born, it's the Aldi Trimat Sensitive one, so I don't think he's reacting to it? Who knows?! Re: porridge, I was putting just cool boiled water in K's before I stopped giving it to him. He really liked it. K is on three meals a day, I was a bit slack recently with not giving him lunch some days, but he didn't put on as much weight this time at his last check so I thought I'd beef him up! (Not that he needs it)

Trish and Viv - was it the Raffertys Multigrain baby breakfast that you were using? I've been giving that to Tahlia mixed with pureed apple and pear

Viv - what do you mix the porridge with?

We just use regular oats now to make big kids porridge! Didn't have much luck with any of those 'first' cereals. I make the porridge with water and a little full cream milk Kellie. According to my 'resources' Boiled full cream milk is ok from 8 months. So i cook with the milk, don't add it cold.

I have been hanging to give her strawbs, they look so juicy and yummo, and an easy snack.

As i type, the guni was having some nappy off time, she just stood holding the furniture and layed a log on the floor!!!!!!!! Better go tend to that. Lucky it's not carpet.

Ange - what a lovely mess to clean up... not!

i've got the baby porridge with apple (i think its the bellamys one), so might make it up with some heated full cream milk and some boiled water then.

Trish - congrats on the 2000th post!

Hey kids, sorry I haven't been around much. Making an effort to spend less time on BB these days. Haven't caught up fully so forgive my pathetic personals!

Trish - glad the rash has gone! L had one today on his cheeks, thinking it could have been the spag bol he had for dinner

Claire - am thinking of going to the sydney meet, wish is wasn't so bloody far away though!

Food - been pondering brekkie a lot lately. Gave him weet bix one day then freaked out thinking it was too early for wheat??!! He doesn't rate the baby cereals AT ALL....so normal grown up porridge is OK? Lunch is usually vegies or pasta or something similar. Sometimes a bit of fruit. He's having cereal with fruit and a bit of raisin toast for brekkie, vegies, meat and pasta for dinner most nights. Solids going much better these days. Still a boob maniac though!

Sleep - after a horrendous few weeks when he was sick and waking himself up constantly by coughing (Kellie - we were going through it the same time as Tahlia, the spewing and all, fun no??) things are settling back down. Still not sleeping through the night and you know what? I'm finally over it! I don't care! The boy doesn't sleep through, so sue him Going to keep truckin on knowing that I'm doing the best for my boy. He doesn't cope at all being left to cry so I just won't do it. He's doing 4-5.5 hr blocks overnight and that's good enough for me. Sleeping well during the day. Getting a copy of No Cry Sleep Solution asap, just don't have the cash at the mo (which reminds me, Ange, sending your book back to you this week babe, thanks again!)

Other stuff - cutting two top teeth. Both are nearly through and giving him holy hell. He's been sleeping OK but constantly rubbing his face and mouth and biting everything - including his 6 month old cousin

And lordy, but the boy is pulling himself up on furniture etc and standing...****, he'll be walking way before I'm ready!!

Having his 6 month needles tomorrow...whoops, better late than never!
