Kristie I know the pepper sounds cruel but today I have threatened it and he has stopped in his tracks, he hasnt even had it yet so I think the threat seems to be working. Time out in his room isnt effective for us, neither is reasoning or smacking him (defeats the purpose really).
I am sure he will grow out of it but whilst he is in the moment I want to discourage it as much as possible.

No worries...You do what you need to do that works for you of course...If the threat of it works then thats great...We didn't do time out in Louis' room we do it at the back door where he's away from everything... I completely agree with not smacking him as well...

Michael was telling Louis to sit in his chair tonight while he ran the bath because he had dirty fingers from dinner and then Louis complains to me that we both tell him off to much!!! OMG!!! How do those words come out of a 2yo????? I said that we only tell him to sit there cos he's got dirty hands and he says - but I don't like to....He is way to clever for his own good with his reasoning etc...he's such a sensitive little thing...He then went into the bathroom and told Michael to say sorry to him...Gosh we both had to try so hard not to laugh...He's 2 going on 22! hehehe. Cheeky bugger.

tracey i have to agree with kristie,we put pepper in coreys mouth for the first time last week and i ws not too keen on doing it either cos it can be dangerous, children have chocked from it.i certainly wouldnt do it to a 2 yo.jordan has such an exciting colourful room full of all things a little boy would desire,i dont think sending him to his room is a good punishment, sit him somewhere safe away from anything exciting so that when he goes there it is no fun.he ill soon decide that he doest want to go there and get the message very quickly.
melissa, put a bit of threat into it and i bet you will get it evencheaper,as one of the other girls said it would cost them less than being sued.
james lost his basketball grand final tonight,he came away with a beautiful trophy for runners up.he still has his under 14 grand final on saturday so hopefully they will do better in that one.

Tracey- We put tori in time out at the end of the hallway with all the bedroom doors shut so she cant play with anything! It works a treat at the moment! I say at the moment though cos we have our days. Usually a threat of going to time out is enough with her.

    Good luck with it all!

Sorry to everyone else for not doing personals but i need to go to bed- i will check in with you all tomorrow - I have chachas 12month shots in the morning and then i have to get the house clean for an open tomorrow arvo! They better rent this place soon!

Time out doesnt work for us. I tried near the front door, away from everything. Milo wont stay there, or laughs at us, or hits us when we try it. After half an hour of me putting him back in the timeout area we're all too stressed and over it.

My Tupperware manager actually suggested the pepper thing too last night, she said that worked with her daughter. I dont know if I'd do it.

Nothing else seems to work though, although taking his dvds and toys away has probably been the most effective out of everything.

    Hi!

It's funny you've all heard of the pepper thing...I know when I was little and getting babysat the mum would do it to her daughter but I thought it was something that just wasn't done anymore!!

NIkki - Sorry to hear that James lost his game...send him some good luck on Sat from all of us!

Cindy - Good luck today! I'm sure someone will want to rent it! Hope Charlotte copes with her needles ok...

Rachael - I think taking his toys/dvds away is a great punishment!! It really gets to them and they know they've done something wrong to have that taken away...I've turned the tv off before and Louis hates it but he gets the message - I rarely have to do it now...Just the threat...

Well, I put off shopping yesterday so I'm going to head off this morning and poor Dylan hs woken up with a cold...poor little thing...he hasn't really had one for a while though so thats good...better get some eucalyptus for his vaporiser cos he's hardly slept the last couple of days...He can't stand a runny nose...

Well Chacha got her needles and was a sook! She is over it now though so its all good!
Tori decided today not to have a sleep which is doing my head in coz we had a bad night with her last night (always do thursday nights after child care) and she ended up in bed with me and al slept in her bed!

Rachael - i see on another thread that you have your glasses- are you getting used to them? It took me a while to get used to mine and even now (coz im slack aat wearing them) when i wear them it takes an hour or so for my eyes to work out whats happening.

I dont know what to say about the pepper thing - I have never heard of it and am thinking its not the best thing for the kids mouthes or gums (dental nurse is coming out in me ) but hey, each to their own! It wouldnt work with my girls anyway -they love all things peppery and spicy!

Whats everyone got on this weekend?

We have no plans, I dont have any parties this weekend, did one the other night which was great got 3 bookings from it! I should take a holiday from tupperware more often!

Better go cook tea - have just had people looking through the house again so didnt want to cook with them here!

Kristie- did the interested people come back with the other 5k?
