hi ya chickens..god you were all busy last night.
I jsut have to share this with you. BIL drove up here yesterday to personally ask Nikolaus to be the page boy at his wedding. I almost cried with the look on NIkolaus' face. I asked Nikolaus what he should say to his Uncle John (meaning thank you) and he said please instead. Atleast now I just have 2 kids to look after at the wedding instead of 3. Then John ask's me to do a reading at the church. IM gonnna pass cause Its 2 hard with Wilhelm. He'll freak out enough being in there with 380 people let alone if I leave him for 5 mins.
I am so looking forward to our December meet up. Should we do what we did last time and make it 7 or 8pm Perth time? It was so much easier for you guys that way wasn't it? OH no swear Jar that night please.....I'll go broke! lol
Anna - I so love the new ticker pic. GO the tounge and cute grin. love the new pics.
Caddie - What scrapping toy did you get..please share.

Hi guys, augh I knew I had forgotton some people. I went to bed thinking about it and at 2am I remembered 4 people. I was actually thinking about all the beautiful tickers.
Anna-Sorry, you noticed before I could post. Look at that cute new ticker. So nice to hear that Xander is making baby babble. Eithan does heaps of smiling and makes some noises but no giggling or babble yet.
Rach-I hope that you have had more rest and bubs is not so clingy anymore.
Adele-My gosh what a rough trot you have had. I hope that you cold/illness is going and that Simon is helping out more.
Panna-What a big boy. But I know what you mean about not being chubby despite the weight, as Bella was exactly like that.
I think that covers everyone.
Well, last night, well this morning. After Eithan's 3am feed I was laying in bed thinking about his reflux and how it was gone. The next thing you know I heard a power chuck adn choking. I dived out of bed and as I lifted him up he went off again a big projectile vomit. So he was covered in spew, his hair my arms the bassinet. Lovely DH (well he had no choice really, but he didnt complain), changed him and calmed him down. No crying he just opens his eyes wide as if to say help me and keeps catching his breath and not breathing as if he is panicking. Well he is fine now just have loads more washing again.(normal)
Helen.p- poor Eithan and you too. Is his reflux occuring less often? Hopefully it'll soon stop. What age do they roughly have it til?
maz- NIkolaus will make such a gorgeous page boy! You'll definately have to put lots of pics of that on yr website.
Nelle- i don't know how you stay up so late every night! What time do you get up in the morning? I find most nights I'm asleep by 9:30, can't keep my eyes open any longer!
rikki- Hope Ainleigh settled for you. I've started giving Ash a massage before her bedtime then a top up feed and I find that it has really helped her settle at night, think the massage just winds her down, she spec loves her back being done.
caddie- Slurpee machine at home sounds great. Spec with the alcohol side but don't think i will do that while BFing!
ChrissyT- Those needles are scary. The nurse told me prior that if I wanted to cry don't be embarassed she said so many mums cry on there bubs first needles! Next ones are due in Jan so Df will be on holidays and I told him that he can come and hold her next time.
Gotta go back to shops today to pick up my photo's. I got a digital camera just before Ash was born and went to get the phots developed. I had bout 70 pics on there!
I want to get a nice pic of her smiling to give to people in a nice frame for xmas. can get one on my phone but they won't print out as photo's cause the quality is bad. Camera on phone is only 1.3 megapixels. But when i try with digital camera she looks at the camera really sus and cause it takes a couple seconds to take the pic after you've pushed the button I can't even get her to smile then sneakily take a pic! I will have to persevere.
I think Ash is starting to giggle, sometimes when she has those huge smiles she makes this little squealy sort of choking sound that just sounds like the beginnings of a laugh!
ainsleigh did that last wednesday shell...started to make a giggle sort of sound when i was doing high fives with her. and i know what you mean about the reflux helen. i thought ainsleigh's was settling too but we are about to get in the shower together as we are both covered in spew!!!
we're off to lunch with grandma today so i am going to put ainsleigh in one of the highly impractical smocked dresses that grandma bought... got to keep em happy have a good days girls
morning (well afternoon) girls. Had another good night last night, Nina has herself into a good routine in the afternoon where she is in bed asleep by 6.30. She woke up once for a feed as per usual, then slept till 6'ish. She's been giggling and talking for quite a while now. When she talks it sounds like a crow lol. I measured her yesterday and she's 63cm & 13weeks. Gotta be pretty happy with that. Not sure about her weight, I'll get her weighed some time next week.
We're off to BIL's girlfriends birthday lunch thingy later today. Should be fun catching up with everyone (we all have the same group of friends) except it's not till 4pm and I bath Nina 5.30 and 6, so it'll be a short visit for me. I don't want to get her out of routine now that's she's used to it. Otherwise it'll backfire and she'll go back to wanting to stay up till 10pm each night.
charli - Nina lifted her head really well with the rolled up blanket the first time, but now when I do it she rolls backwards and forwards on it and doesn't co-operate with lifting her head, the litter terror! Any other tips?
helen - I hope Eithan's reflux eases up soon.
sorry, to many posts to read back on, so hello to everyone else, love you all!
Rikki,im sorry but i have to cancel tommorow.A good friend of mine had her baby the other day and i was meant to visit today but couldnt and she wants me to visit tommorow morning. If i dont go tommorow i probably wont see her for a couple of weeks.Sorry.
All i have done today is clean and tidy up! No more,im gonna go and get a cuppa and relax.
no problems caddie. anna, are you still keen to come just the two of us? or would you rather postpone till caddie can make it? i don't mind either way...
yeah I don't know whether I should be worried or not. She has great head control when sitting up, it's just on her tummy that she's lazy and doesn't do anything. This afternoon I tried it again and this time with a mirror in front of her, but she still rolls backwards and forwards. She also doesn't seem too interested in rolling. She's a very active baby, her legs are very strong and when on her back she'll move around the floor all over the place, just doesn't roll. She's constantly kicking things with her legs, and tonight in the bath I had her sitting in it and she kept pushing up with her heels as if to stand up.
Is the not rolling thing a problem? Or is it something that will happen in time.
ETA: I noticed in another thread a couple of you have Pinky McKay books, I'm looking at purchasing 'Sleeping Like
A Baby' and '100 Ways To Calm The Crying' - how did you find them, any good? Are they worth it?

Jodi - I wouldn't be concerned about Bub's not rolling...I personally think it is way too early for that...my friend's bub turned 6 months today, and only rolled for the first time last week.
that puts my mind at ease a little then. The dr gave me a sheet with milestones and expected ages and it says on there 'rolls tummy to back' 2-4 months so was a little worried as Nina is 3 months. But if there's others out there that don't for a while, then good!
BTW love that pic on your ticker!! so cool
Nelle - I know I have probably asked you before but whereabouts are you in the East because I am in the Eastern suburbs as well - Croydon to be in fact
GOD it's hot!! Had a wedding to go to today - and I got burnt. Was a half jewish wedding and I must say some of the traditions are quite strange but had an excellent time.
Another wedding next Saturday in Mansfield (near Mt Buller for the interstaters :P) which is a hike for us. But should still be a lot of fun
Off to bed for me. I wonder how my girl will go in this heat?
jodi_lee- I borrowed 100 ways to calm the crying and at the moment have just started reading sleeping like a baby. I prefer sleeping like a baby. The thing I love about her books is that she goes about things in a nice way and is totally against leaving babies to cry. Alot of books I've read tell you what "not" to do but don't offer much advice about what will help. Pinky's book stopped me feeling guilty to about getting into so called "bad habits". such as letting your baby fall asleep on the breast. She also has a gentle way of stopping this that goes over a 4 week period rather than just stopping cold turkey and letting them cry instead. I've raved on abit, can you see I'm a fan?
Well i have a problem re clothes, was hot here today in melb so went into my summer clothes draw. Now most of my tops were already tight but with these breast feeding boobs they are hard to fit on, looking bit pornographic! Anyways got couple tops with buttons but my prob is i prefer to wear dresses when its really hot but how the hell do you breast feed with a dress on? The only dress i found with buttons was $100! No way am I going to pay that for a summer dress. Anyone know where to find a BFing friendly dress?
Jodi - My MCHN told me that some babies pretty much skip the rolling milestone and just do the sitting up/crawling instead. Xander usually just lets his head flop down during tummy time as he super slack. He also just lets his head flop if you pull him by his arms to a sit from lying down; yet he holds his head just fine when I sit him up so obviously the neck muscles are getting stronger... the way I see it is that at least when I make him sit upright, he is working these muscles and making them stronger. I have been told by health nurse that carrying him 'aeroplane' style has the same effect on the neck as tummy time.
I do the aeroplane thingy, so that's good if it's the same as tummy time.
Adele - you poor thing, first you being sick, now Akira and Riley being sooky. Never ending with you, is it!
I believe the chat thingy is on the 8th December, not sure of the time
