    Tamara - enjoy your trip

Noni - glad that everything is OK

Jaz - how was H last night? That certainly is a lot of people to have over, hope the christening goes well.

Hayley - I'm supposed to go back to work on her first birthday (but that's a Saturday!), I'm actually planning on extending my leave a week, then my mum is going to come and babysit for a week, then it is school holidays and DH will look after her for a fortnight before she starts care. Means she gets 4 extra weeks at home. When she does start, I'm hoping to have a couple of Wednesday's off so she doesn't have 5 days straight off - will probably be easier for both of us. How's Maddie's eye this morning?

Katie - how was Logan last night?

Pregpan - enjoy Sydney, lucky you getting an Ikea high chair, I'm jealous!! How did your brain work back at work, I expect mine has shutdown completely.

Last night was a complete shocker. Fed at 7, screamed for an hour, nothing would work, refed at 8:15, didn't fall asleep on boobie, but calmed down enough for me to get her to sleep with my hands on her legs singing, woke up 3 times and resettled by DH before he came to bed (at 11:30), woke at 12:15 and took 45 minutes to resettle for me, then only slept 30 minutes before waking again (so not impressed), fed, slept for 2.5 hours before another feed. I was hoping she'd sleep in until 8 or so this morning, but no, awake at 7. And then only a 45 min nap (so no nap for me). She's asleep again now, unfortunately it can't be too long because we have to go out!

Better go and hang out the washing and tidy this place up a bit.

Wel it was nice to turn the brain on again felt pretty foggy but i will get back into the swing of it all soon i guess. it was weird as i went down to do some stuff for the aus job but i still dont know which one i am taking in the long term - this weekend it all has to happen i guess... (when i find out about the oseas one).
Jazmum - last season of batchelor( ha ha another fan here) was charlie and he ended up with Sarah.... a hge trash tv fan here!! do you also watch preject catwalk? i reckona ll my taped foxtel trash shows are reason enough not to give up breast feeding!!! how did hannah sleep last night after that big nap??
Katie how was logan last night?
Noni - glad all is OK with you and your friend. hope you had a good time with her.
    Tamara - enjoy your trip

Hi everyone, and welcome to Clare !

Just a quick one from me, BBL (I hope) for personals - does anyone in here have an Ergo? DD is getting too big for the Baby Bjorn, the sling is too lopsided for my d!ckie hips, and I never quite got the hang of my HAB - I am DESPERATE for a new sling/carrier or I swear I will go blinking INSANE! Gracie I think you've got one, is it any good?

    hello lovelies

md- yes i love my ergo (check out stylish pics of me wearing it in my gallery!). i am spewin because after i bought it they released a fab looking organic range (the hunter green one is soooo me!). anyways, yes i love it. it is so much simpler than the hab- i never use my hab now. am saving it for bubs #2 when it's a newborn then it's going on ebay. the ergo is a lot quicker to put on, it's great for shopping (i wore it yesterday to the mad Target Zac Posen rush) and it is all good. the one thing i will say about the ergo is that it is not quite as good on your back as the hab, i think as the weight isn't quite as easily distributed. i tend to get a little bit of a sore lower back if i'm wearing it for ages, but it's not too bad. i find lewis isn't quite big enough to wear him on my back yet, so i always wear him on my front. i'm looking forward to being able to wear him on my back though, as i've heard people rave about it. all in all, the ergo has been a very wise investment and i think you would be really happy with one.

now, on another note, i was thinking that it's only fair that if your dh is disappearing for 3 months, he needs to get you the platinum foxtel iq package. it's only fair.

noni- glad to see you're back and safe!

pregpan- another trashy tv friend hey?? i love it. do you watch 'The Hills'? it's by far my favourite. i also loved 'I Love New York'.

cally- sounds like teeth to me

    tamara- enjoy your trip!

ooh gracie i havent found the hills yet, i will search for it on foxtel (also never heard of i love NY but since i DO love NY I am sure i would have loved it). My SIL also wears her Ergo on the side and this seems to work well.
MD I agree w Gracie platinum foxtel seems to be a good START point for compensation!
Noni - I dont think you need to rush to get her on 3 meals of solids a day, i think it is all a bit of an experiment for now. That said Noah is a mad eater so yes he has 3 solid meals a day - sometimes more than others. I offer it 3 times and he eats what he eats. Today he is going nuts over it - had weetbix w formula for breakfast (prob ate about half the weetbix) and then some pureed nectarines, then for lunch he had carrot and cauliflower puree - i gave him 4 cubes (usually i do 3) with some grated cheese in it and he wolfed the whole lot down, was still complaining for more so i also have him 2 dessert spoons of yoghurt and he ate that too... i have some veges for his dinner (though he may miss out on that as we may be in the car on the way to syd). i am trying to introducea bit more variety now as i think he is a bit sick of purees... next week we are going to start more w finger foods (i have done a little but am waiitng to have a high chair). Anyway each bub is diff so i think you are right to go with the flow with what she seems to want. what kind of stuff are you giving her? i am trying to do a lot of more 'adult' foods - like normal yoghurt, weet bix, cheese etc so that he is always used to normal foods... he also loves vegemite!
ok off to finish my packing and then we can leave soon after N wakes up.
    have a great weekend everyone

    Hi there ladies!

Cally I totally sympathise with you. Leila also decided to dance throughout the night...now that she has learnt to sit up in the cot she is 'practising' at every opportunity...arrghhhh obviously sleeping through is out of fashion at the moment!

MD: we too have an ergo and it's fantastic! the weight is distributed really well and the bubbas dont appear to feel as constricted...also it has the benefit also of carrying them on the hip and on the back. (and i love the fact that it comes with a hood so that when they sleep you can pop them away and they dont get distracted. love it.

Noni: Hi! and ahh the joys of solids...i dont think it's a big issue at this stage. as long as bubba is happy and growing well; we only just put Leila on 3 meals a day as the little tike has a mega appetite, but i am also keeping up (pretty much) the same amount of breastfeeds...hhhmmm wonder if i should cut down on that?? any tips on that anyone?!

Pregpan: my friend has the ikea chair and cant stop raving about it! she loves it and reckons that it is easy to clean and use and has had it for almost a year (her girl is 18 months and still using it). we ended up buying the stokke as my DH insisted (he wanted a red one!), leila quite likes it and enjoys eating at the table with us (or rather smashing her food everywhere...)

Just went down to visit and feed leila at child care, i find myself staying there for almost an hour at lunch playing with her...kind of defeats the purpose of childcare doesnt it?!

anyway, best keep at the typing, have to give a paper next week (new uni, new people) and feeling kinda nervous (egad!)
