Noni - weren't really trying the yogurt as dessert, more just introducing dairy. She had some grated cheese in her vegies last night and that was good.

Arte - great photo! What a shame about not having MACH nurses and no sleep school!!

Claire - happy birthday for tomorrow!

MD - They won't let you swaddle at QE2 after 4 months because of the risk of bubs getting caught up in it. Also no toys (our giraffes are back up on the shelf, although I have pulled one out when I was desperate one night!) Don't worry about consuming the thread, that's what we're all here for!

Leanne - oh no, not the flu!! DH had his injection last week and had a reaction to it. Fingers crossed I don't get anything this year. Hope you all recover quickly.

Well we had a bit of a shocker last night (by our standards). Woke at 3 (had already been fed at 12), asleep by 4, then only did those annoying 10-15 minute naps 3 times before falling asleep properly. Then stirred after 45 minutes, I got up, but she had dropped back to sleep by the time I got to her room. Then awake at 6:20. Was feeling pretty wrecked this morning, but at least I got a morning nap in and am amazed at how well I feel. MD, when you do go to sleep school, find out how long you have to perservere with the responsive settling before resorting to just sitting next to her. She was settling the moment I appeared in her room, only to start crying the moment I rose from the chair. Very frustrating.

lost my post. here's a much shorter version of what i'd typed out earlier.

leeann, hope the whole family recovers soon.

    claire, happy birthday for tomorrow.

md, hope E settles better tonight. remember that we're here for you as you've been there for us for almost a year now for me (and more than a year for some others)

    arte, W's just gorgeous!

on sleeping, i've been quiet about it coz' i was lucky that max was still waking up 1x (at 4am) or 2x (12mn and 4-5am) for feed and a few stirs but not waking. until the other night when she was up every hour or so. finished the night with her sleeping on me so that i could get some zzzz's. guess it really must just be their age. wonder week/s?

advice please.....any suggestions on baby proofing the cot? max keeps banging her head on the rails all around the cot (and playpen) when she stands and when she loses balance while sitting. am worried about her doing serious head injury and wondered what everyone else has done to keep the little ones safe.

    Hi everyone
just wanted to pop in quickly and say hi, and let you know i've been thinking about you all, just haven't had time to log on.
Will have to read back some time and catch up on everyone's goss.
Happy Birthday to Clare!!!! I hope you're having a lovely day.
My littlest princess is 8 months old today!!!!!! She's growing up so fast. Did the poo from hell this morning - just as i was ready to head out of the door for the school run. she needed a bath and the high chair needed one too.
anyway, catch up with you all later.

to Clare - hope you have a lovely day !

LOL Jazmum about the megapoo just before the school run - we've had a few of those but I haven't yet had to wash the high chair

Another hellish night here, I dared to dream we had turned a corner because E hadn't got up at 11, but then she started at 1.00am and continued until 4.30 (!) She got up again at 5.30 for another hour (!) OMG I think it is safe to say I have exhausted my bag of tricks, I'm right out there in "nothing I do is working" land. I'm gonna slap the first MACH nurse who tells me to pat my baby to sleep at the sleep seminar. On the upside I have discovered that i have extraordinarily good night vision after I've been awake for 3 hours, I reckon I could spot a Taliban ambush at 3 kms with these peepers. :P

Just a quick one from me - so much to catch up on - we went away for a few days and only got back last night.

Marydean, I really feel for you hun and I wish there was something I could do to help you out. Maybe now that school has gone back you can get some day sleeps in while Miss Betty is sleeping, seeing as how she sleeps good during the day? Bugger the housework - you aren't any good to anyone while you are like this so you need to just let it go for a day or two and try to catch up before you completely burn out.

Everyone is fine here - it finally rained so sowing is underway now and A is now the poster child for velcro babies. If his two top teeth would just come through he would be fine. I have never seen gums so big and red and swollen before - the other kids were never like this. So sleep in this house is up ****ter's ditch LOL.

Glad to know you haven't lost your sense of humour even though you're so sleep deprived! When does DH get back? Sorry the doctor couldn't get you straight into QE2, seems silly to have such strict rules for Canberra residents when us NSW'ers can get in so much easier!

Sherie - K goes through stages of clinginess. When she's just woken up, I can't even go to the toilet without her crying, she's right after about 15 minutes but I'm not looking forward to full time clinginess! Yay for the rain!
