Ok not back tonight. Tired. Sleep is winning.
No wonder they say that sleep deprivation is a form of torture!!

Ahh haven't posted for so long!
Bubba: that is so good you are getting on top of things! A bit jealous!;)
Afm: now having mastitis for a THIRD time! It's so annoying stupid painful and horrible. Was so I'll last night even my lymph nodes were swollen so to move, pick dd up or even hold her to feed would hurt. Especially hen I'd have let down it was like my arm pit was on fire. I doses up on raw garlic, vitamin c, e and a and tried sleeping and it seems to have improved, at least the fever and lymph nodes are gone.
Seriously feel like I can't catch a break!
On a positive dd is growing fast and changing a lot. She is starting to smile properly and make noises back to me when I talk to her :). She went into her first 000 yesterday. Time flies!
Evil DH, Evil Baby or Evil dogs? Me thinks all this morning. DH changed the baby but didn't feed him so I had to get up and feed him 5 minutes later. Baby has wind again (or is it still?) and wont sleep unless its on my chest, and the one time I did manage to get the baby to sleep in his cot this morning the evil dogs woke him up.
Dog have been kicked out, DH has been informed he needs to make me food and a cup of tea and the baby... well he isn't really evil so I will just let him sleep on my chest :)
It must have been a universal night of pain last night! Baby couldn't decide if she wanted to feed or not. Cue me only getting to bed 3am. Tearful melt down, her up 1.5 hours later feed her, but she's still noncelant, back to bed, then up at 7.45 for another feed.........
I still believe it all stems from dh not changing the nappy I asked him to at 11.30pm! Lol
 to all
Well Hello ladies !!!
Sorry it has taken so long to report in. I have no idea where the time went........oh, wait....yes I do...FEEDING! gah!! so not as exciting as the advertisments make it look...
Anyway, we are day ...whatever now and it is very clearly MILK DAY. ouch. bang, crash, how did I not see that wall 3 feet away adn how did I manage to hit it from way over here????/oh yeah...MILK DAY !!!!!!
Labour story to follow another time. Not too exciting as never made it to full blown labour but on a positive note, I dont have a broken vagina, so there are upsides to every story I guess :;-):
Cant really complain about much. It is to be expected at this stage i gues, bit I find it amusing how excited I get when both DP and Jesse are asleep and I can just have some me time for a bit!! I get this sudden rush of energy and even eating is exciting.
So basically have just been in hospital (and still are) but we transferred up to the local one near my mums house and there are 2 of us here....yes ladies, 2 of us. I havent seen the other lady as we barely leave the room but it is lovely and quiet and has a couple of big windows that look out to the trees and a kitchenette and sofa and a couple of other chairs. So abachelor pad, basically :-) aahahha.
Prob go home tomorrow. Will feel a bit more confident after another night of feeding here with undivided attention. they are all so lovely here.
Need to change my ticker and be back soon for persies but i hope you are all doing really well and your babies are growing big and strong.
gotta run, Jesse is stirring......and i thought i might have a little nap before he woke up ..........doh!
Welcome CT!!
So glad you're here with us:)
I share your sentiments with the feeding! It does get better, and I know everyone tells you that, but I am finally starting to experience it!
Sneak in a nap
Xx
Yay CT. So glad you're finally made it with us.
No personals for me today. DD3 fed every single (insert LOTS of expletives here!) hour last night for the entire (inserts lots more expletives here!) night and is STILL GOING!!!!! Boobs are about to fall off, my eyeballs about to fall out. Oh the joys of newborns . . .
I hope everybody had a better night than us and you're all enjoying the weekend.
how do I get a ticker for Jesse ????
mine is from a website - written on my ticker! then just go through and pick everything you want. Get to the end of that and you will need to copy the "formula" from nthe website then come back to BB and paste it into your signature through "settings". HTH
Geez that's harsh lulu,
CT welcome!! How are you going with Jesse today?
Hi to all,
Afm my wind ridden baby had a goodish day today for his cousins baptism, fingers crossed for a good night too!
HI ladies,
Welcome CT and congrats on Little Jesse!!
no persies, sorry, way too many to catch up on (because I am so slack and seem to just read and never post - or is it because I am SO FLAT OUT!!!! TRYING TO COPE WITH TODDLER AND BABY!!! ARGH!!!!!!!)
OK, rant over... no it's not!
DD2 feeds ALL NIGHT (I so hear you Lulu!) and sleeps all day, so all day is spent looking after DD1, and all night spent looking after DD2. Since we came home, I have spent only one night in bed - I have given up on going to bed, and just now have pillows and blankets on the lounge so I can at least sit up and BF, and if I fall asleep, at least I and she are supported and comfortable (ish). not good though, day starts at 5.00am when she has a feed, and then DD2 is up at 6, and its go go go till about 8.00pm then shower, then DD2 begins her cluster feed till about midnight. I cant even have a nap during the day, because DD2 conveniently wants a midday feed while DD1 has her nap! I am sooo tired....... and not doing my best parenting (read crap mummy)to DD1 either. I thought second time round would be easier!!!!
ok, stop now, rant over.........
Hiya - so glad to see you're doing everything normally CT!!!!! Ha ha, and none of us learn.... it goes something like this "I'll just do x, y, z before the baby wakes..... oh bugger, they are awake". I told myself I wouldn't do it this time, but I do. Your accomodation sounds relaxing.....
I tried to post a while ago and lost it...blah.
Lulu - hugs for hard times. Sweetie if it goes on tonight - I would go and get checked out by the Paed if $ is ok, or the MCHN if $ is tight. I know we all have different experiences and there are many causes for constant feeding, but HB did that, and I thought I could just cope ( and in a way I did) but I should have gotten help sooner - it would have been easier for us all, esp. HB. So if you have another rough time tonight - go and get it checked out. It might help. I know how hard it is to do what you're doing, well the feeding constantly, I just didn't have to do it with 2 other wee ones to take care of. I am going to have to get my slings out and use them a bit more. DH will go back to work soon and I will have to cope bymyself for dinner, bath, bed. I am really worried about how I will cope. I guess there will be days I don't cope, but that's ok? At least Hb is settling now with RB in the room, and sometimes even while I feed RB. So a step in the right direction. I don't know how you do it....... anyway, thanks for your kind words after my last post. Your kindess meant a lot.
Bubba - Ha - I thought babies like yours who sleep that long were the stuff of myth and legend.... i guess not huh? Except for the wind? Glad you got to show him off to the fam.
AFM - well bit of a win here. We took our first trip as an awesome foursome this weekend - 2 hour drive to see my fam. On the trip up both girls were great, though we had two toilet stops for HB, one right on the side of the freeway ( geez that was scary!) whilst HB worked her magic. But better than having to clean up an accident. RB slept hte whole way and then slept most the afternoon and evening and night away. But not the morning - she was awake pretty much from 1am...:( But she's not too much of a crier, so at least it's reasonably peaceful. But poor HB, my Mum's dog scared her, and she just cried and had to be carried all night. Then she woke about 5 times during the night, but as we were in teh same room was quickly soothed and slept again. But the dog and child seem to have chilled this morning. The trip home was ok, again two toilet stops. Poor RB thought lost it when we were almost home then HB did. We just pushed through though, better to take 5 mins to get home after such a long day. Anyway, it worked. So all in all, I am pretty proud of ourselves for coping ( no fighting btn DH and I while we were away) and we survived our trip away. YAY for us.
Oh who had the chucky bubs? Sorry can't remember - do you think it's reflux? Is it projectile vomiting? I know from some of my friends, that it's hard, and involves lots of washing and lots of being upright. Hope you get through.
Oh here's a crazy thought.... I am wondering whether I can go again, and have another child. Anyone else thinking about that? I am an old chook, so I need to think about it. It's something I need to think a lot about and really know my motivation. I need to sort out whether it's my grief or something else driving it. As hard as it is for me I do like being pregnant, and even though the newborn days are punishing, they grow into the most amazing little people and we get to watch it and be part of it. It's just amazing. But 3 means a different car, a different house, more time away from work..... ahhh, then I feel greedy for thinking about more, when I am so lucky to have what I have. I should just live in the moment huh?
Sorry I don't mention everyone - I do think of you... I haven't heard much from Milly or Geeky lately or our new friend Naomi. Hope you're doing well. Just because I don't mention you by name doesn't mean I am not thinking of you.
In the darkest hours, I know it feels so lonely, but just look down and you'll see all the dreams and hope and love on your chest ( and not in their cot). Cherish those moments, even though it seems like they will never end and all you want to do is sleep. Because those lonely moments in the dark make you an awesome mumma, for many reasons but the best one is because you're there, doing the hard yards for your child. And that is awesome. Well done.
Milly - we post at the same time. I hear you....... don't be too hard on yourself, you are doing great. I just wish HB had a day time sleep..... wish I was closer to you so we could commiserate together. Hope the sleep fairy visits your whole house soon. Me too, I thought it would be easier second time... its not, just more and more exhausting so far. Hugs.
I echo Dory - Sorry if I don't mention everyone
Dory I think about having another one but I am terrified of going into labour again. I am going to take the 12 months suggested by the lovely OB when I was seen for my infection and consider a VBAC with option of a C section at 41 weeks if the bub hasn't come. Well this is what I am thinking would have to be some of the conditions for me to even be able to comtemplate another one. I am like you though and am old lol. Hopefully my geriatric eggs last long enough to wait the 12 months then how ever long it takes to fall PG again. Took us 17 cycles to get X. I am also thinking of asking my brother who is a paramedic if he would be there as I think I need to have someone medical I trust to act if needed, either him, one of my emergency nurse SIL's or a Doula. This is where I am thinking though.
Wow I have waffled on. DH is doing the 1130pm feed so I am off the hook til 7am so time to go to bed. Ni ni all xx
argggggghhhhhhh. She's still feeding heaps and is so unsettled. I literally haven't been able to put her down all day, and the longest she has slept is 20 minutes. I've given up trying to put her down now and just letting her sleep on me. She must be so incredibly exhausted - hopefully we can snuggle up together in bed and both catch up on sleep.
Dory - definitely no more for me. I'm way too old for another, and it was far too stressful getting DD3 to go through it all again even if my age wasn't a factor. Yay for your fiorst big family trip going so well, but your poor "big" girl. I hope she's ok now.
Hugs Milly. Its so hard to balance everybody's needs but I'm sure you're doing a great job. I feel guilty about it, but my girls are getting more tv time than usual so I can at least lie down on the couch and rest. I get cuddle times with them so its not all bad.
Good on you bubbaT for working your way through the process for another one!
I've decided to try and have my bubs close together do its one long saga of breast feeding and my nipples won't have a chance of going back to normal...hopefully I will avoid some issues next time!
Dory, Milly and lulu: I have one baby and lack of sleep is doing me in. I take my hat off to you guys with sleep deprivation. You're all fantastic!
AFM: I think I've beat this lot of mastitis, just have to get rid of the lumps, and they're bad ones this time.
Dd is in a wonder week this week so feeding constantly, not sleeping well and just wxnts to sleep on us instead of her cradle. Hopefully this week will be better!
Dd is starting to smile heaps now, she's really a happy baby. She only cries when hungry and is so so alert. She respOnds to different voices now.
Oh and bubbaT I am not even able to express how jealous I am of the hours of sleep you just mentioned. I'm getting so bad that this morning she was crying so I got up and fed her. She just kept crying and I realized I was dreaming of feeding her instead of actually feeding her.... BonKeRs!?!?
Hi mummies
On DHs ipad and it keeps going weird so ill be really quick. Hugs to those that are having a hard time.
Dory - thank you for your words about the dark times they got me all teary and made me feel totally not alone. Reminded me that while i may be on my own at times im sharing this journey with all of you ladies, strangers but not strangers at all. Xx
For those thinking about the next bub - im SO glad to read this. I really want to be pregnant again. Its so weird. I love my DD and dont want to miss a thing but want a bubba in my belly as well. I dont want babies too close together. We plan on trying when DD is at least 2 so im really worried that i wont be able to holdoff that long! Im hoping its just post birth hormones and it will go away soon. And at least there is no chance of any action with DH at the moment. 100% effective contraceptive lol.
Bubba - great that your planning how to feel safe next time around after your experience with DS. Its important and there is no reason why with preparation (as youre already doing) you cant have a totally awesome birth next time around.
All is going well here really. DD is so good. She has dropped a night time feed and evry night the night sleep gets longer. We had an awesome sleep last night. I woke up feeling like superwoman. She slept for just under 7 hours and I for about 5.5! Went to clinic on Thursday and she has put on 520g since discharge so thats just under 50gms a day. And she is 2cms longer. Everyone is happy with that. Off to the doctor on friday for our first check up post hospital.
Off to feed the hungry hippo and then to bed xx
Wow Dantri she has already dropped a feed??
Are you breast feeding or formula? That's awesome :) maybe I should get dd to speak to your dd and get some pointers lol
X
Well I knew I shouldn't have mentioned sleep, we have been awake for an hour now with terrible belly bubbles. I think the gripe water just kicked in as X sounds like a machine gun in his nappy lol
Spoke too soon, we've been up 4 hourly tonight but poor little bubba has had a huge day. Had our friend over to do newbie photo shoot and Miss loved all over the camera and refused to sleep. She was so good tho but was awake from 730 till 1 except for a cpuplrvof very brief cat naps. Then had a big afternoon sleep so she is a bit all over the place. At the end of the photos she cracked it big time and it was our first mummy fixes everything moment. I picked her up and just cuddle her and she grabbed a hold of my arm and neck and snuggled and fell fast asleep. She's never done that before. Made my heart sing. Still does even though she won't go back to sleep despite an epic feed!

Dantri that's beautiful. Nothing like returned affectionb from your beautiful girl.
We had a better night - only 2.5 hourly feeds. Threw all the rules out the window and went to sleep in bed with A cuddled in my arms. DH went to bed with one of the girls so after the first feed I was at least able to put A down on his side of the bed so I could stretch out without worrying about squishing her. So hoping for a better day today. We have heaps of visitors due over the next couple of weeks and my house soooooooo desperately needs a clean!
Lulu - I had to keep from rolling my eyes when the health nurse said I should never fall asleep with DD on the lounge and should never have her in bed at all. I'm lucky to have a good bub who sleeps in her own bed MOST of the time but if the best thing for both of us is to have her in my bed so be it. And I sure as hell aren't giving up my chesty booby cuddles under the minky blanket snoozing in the recliner after the lunchtime feed!
It's raining babies here: My SIL told us on the weekend that she is 14 weeks pregnant. I'm beside myself excited for them (and a little envious - so weird). Due to her age the first tri screening has come back with an elevated risk so she is having amnio in a couple of weeks to rule anything out. I hope all goes well for them. AND my real life belly buddy's waters broke yesterday!!! 7 days overdue I'm waiting for news ATM. So exciting for them. She went to the hospy got a clear trace in bubs then went home and made a roast! Lol. That was last i heard at about 7ish last night. Bub should be here now hopefully. We've been on this journey together since I was 20 weeks (she was 18) when we returned to work for term 1 and discovered our suspicions of each other were correct. can't wait to hear her story and meet the little man. Just adds to the whole I want to be pregnant and give birth again thing. God I hope it's just hormones....

Hi everyone,
im here, i feel bad cos all i seem to get time for is readingand not posting.
Things are good here - thankyou to whoever it was that suggested to express a little onto the nipple to help with a non dry suck, it worked and my nipples are finally normal now.
Little miss (like most) has her days and nights mixed up, so during the night i deal with her and during the day i deal with the 2 boys.
I feel bad parenting as i dont really spend alot (and some days none) of time with the boys, but im sure that will change, when things settle down.
DS1 starts school next week, im excited and yet nervous about doing the "school run" everyday, but again im sure i will get used to it and will be fine, he is looking forward to it.
On friday had a midwife check up and Alana has managed to put on all her birth weight plus 5 grams, so as of friday she had put on 275grams in a matter of 7 days.....looking forward to our check up this friday to see how much weight she has put on and if she has grown any.
She still has her gunky eye (blocked tear duct) but its getting much better.
She is soooo alert and has started to smile without wind being involved, its so adorable and cute....
I cant believe it, i wouldve been officially due on wed, instead i will have a 2 week old!!! Time is sure going past fast!
Well i better go and get some sleep while she is actually sleeping now, but just wanted to pop in and let you all know i am here i have been reading (its actually been reassuring reading what you are all going through, knowing im not alone)
Will try and post more (but dont hold me to it lol)
Hugs to you all and to your little ones xo
Lulu - hope it gets better soon for you.
Naomi - It's nice to know it's not just me feeling slack as a parent because I can't spend as much time as I used to, or want to with HB and then feel a bit rushed when I do? Not all the time, but this morning she had to go to the toilet and RB was crying.... it felt awful to leave RB cry but it was only for a short time. That is an awesome weight gain! RB has a gunky eye too. I've just assumed it's a blocked tear duct. Might ask on Friday. GL with the school run..... blah, it means you actually have to be up and about and OUT, not just slothing around thinking about it. Hehe, I did that too last night - threw the rules out and ended up bed sharing, it was the only way, either of us got some sort of rest.
Dantri - you're welcome. It can be very lonely being a mumma, especially at night if they are crying, or unsettled and you're at your wits end. I am finding that part easier this time. How cute about raining babies... congrats to your SIL. I am missing being pregnant too. Anyone else noticing phantom kicks?
Bubba - it ALWAYS happens like that. Hope the windy poppers ended quickly.
Little O - I am not sure how we get by either, but it's a little easier but also harder. Easier, I think because I know these hard times will end... and by comparison we are all getting more sleep than with HB and RB is a LOT more settled than HB. I told my Mum the other day that after HB was born I thought that having a newborn was some form of peverse torture and I didn't know why people did it. We got about 4 hours a day without crying for HB, I just don't know how we got through. Harder because when I am dog tired, I can't rest. HB doesn't sleep during the day and it seems neither can I. Harder when both little ones need you and one has to wait. :( Sorry you can't express. I couldn't with HB either.
Anyway, got to go. One had a stack and cried and set the other off. LOL, this is going to be my lot for a while.
CT - hope you and Jesse are going well.
Stay strong mummas!
dory - I could have written your comment to little _o almost word for word. The newborn stge with DDs 1 and 2 was purely something to survive with no enjoyment at all, and I never understood the women who said they loved the newborn stage. Even with around the clock feeding and unsettled patches DD3 is just so much easier to look after and I'm really enjoying this stage with her.
Good luck with the school runs. I'm enjoying my second day of school holidays here and its bliss not having to get everyone up and out the door early.
Wow sounds like everyone is flat out, I am enjoying the first wind free time from X for about a week. We have been having a lovely day. I think he must be going through his first wonder week as I am noticing he is much more interactive and feeding alot.
I admire you ladies with more than 1 child, I can see it would be hard, especially in these early weeks. Sending you all strength to get through the days.
Hi mamas!
I'm around, just no time to post. But following along. I had started typing up this post a couple of days ago when I finally got on the PC and never finished it cos of the kids. DS1 is at kindy tomorrow so I'll be able to get on the PC and will hopefully post some persies then :grouphug:
Thinking of you all xoxox
question re bleeding.....
My blood lose started turning pink, then brown and then for a few hours i got nothing about 3 days ago, then i fed Alana and (as i expected) i started bleeding again - bright red. this lasted almost 2 days and then tampered off again, with a few hours of nothing, now ive got it back again, bright red - not heavy but like a light/med period.......its heavier though after a feed or around feed time.....
Do i need to be concerened? i dont remember this after the last 2, once they stopped they stayed stopped.
I did google and it said it could come back if im doing to much and if it starts getting heavier and red its a sign to slow down? is this the case? ive pretty much gone back into my normal mother/slave routine the last week, should i be slowing down and taking it easier (i.e put my pride aside and ask for help)??? im friends with my midwife (she cousin of DH) but i dont have my next app with her til friday and dont want to bug her unless i need to. I suffered 1st degree tear but no stitches......
it may sound weird but there is a slight "smell" but as its been soooooo long since i last had a period or a baby, im not sure if thats normal.
I shower every day and change my pads often......
Mine has done exactly the same thing and only seems to have stopped in the last 2 days and I had X almost 5 weeks ago. I was told by the middie that it could do that for anywhere up to 6 weeks. As far as smell though not sure, I didn't notice anything for me, hope that helps a bit
Naomi - sounds like me too.. and I had L 4 weeks ago. I think when BFing your uterus is still cramping so that's when I see I can have some bleeding, but mine is really light now.
Also Naomi, I noticed you have a Lachlan, born 23/6... I too have a Lachlan born 23/6 (but different year!)... Cool huh?
Naomi....the odour worries me. I'd call your middie friend. You are not bugging her. Your health is important.
Thanks ladies - greatly appreciate the replies xo
I will send my midwife a quick message and see what she says.....its not a strong odour but i can smell it most times when i go to the toilet, but i also noticed not that long ago, my slippers smell so it could be that im smelling (they are now in the wash lol)......
Blackrose - i noticed that before aswell, although i didnt know his name was Lachlan aswell, thats awesomely freaky LMAO
I had the blood come and go (finally gone last week) but it was always "back" when I hadn't slept enough or did too much.
Also I noticed a strange smell for a couple of days, turned out it was my liners that I had left from before getting pregnant. Obviously the liners have a use by date... Not sure if that could be something in your case...
Miss Muffet has been sleeping a lot today...bad news for tonight I think...
So if anyone is up all night let's meet here lol!
Hope your not up all night little o
Same here little o - hope you get some sleep.
Naomi - it sounds about the same as here. Things will be tapering off then I'll feed and bam we're back. Can't wait for that part to be done. I'll just feel better I think. More "normal". But yeah speak to your middy as well. Like Dory said that is what they're for and if she wasn't a friend/family member you probably wouldn't worry so much about "bothering" her. Cept it isn't bothering!!
Oh bugger now ive forgotten others posts. I had it all worked out in my head and was set. Sorry to those I've forgotten :)
Well DD is a hungry hungry hippo. I think she might be having a growth spurt or something. She normally feeds on one side only between 10 and 20 minutes. She's been going 20-30 on one side then another 15minutes on the other every three hours with a couple of times only 2 hours in between feeds. Having a few issues with attachment but I'll post that separately as I'll copy and paste my description of the problem from the FB group :)
Is anyone else getting night sweats? I wake up almost every night drenched. It's disgusting. A friend said it happened to her as well for the first week or so but it's been 3 weeks!! If I strip down I get cold. It's not like it's warm it's just me. I'm washing my pjs every day because I wake up smelling like a man ha ha. Ewwww. Please someone tell me it goes away soon.

Little_o - you may find that DD is going through a growth spurt and sleeps more anyway so her night time sleeps shouldn't be affected too much (I hope!!)
Naomi - my slippers are stinky too.. Hehehehe
I nursed 10:30, 3am and now 6am. A good night for us! :happydance:
Morning Dantri! Yeah I got sweaty a couple of times. It's just your hormones sorting themselves out. You know how during menopause women get hot flushes? Well kinda like that. It will settle down
If it doesn't it could be related to a fever and the beginnings of mastitis but you feel generally crappy all over with mastitis so you'll know it's different
Thanks BR. Yeah i figured that too. Freaked out at first when I woke up in a pool of sweat with lumpy painful hard boobs and a yukky feeling and was frantically taking my temperature and googling mastitis but it was just engorgement, sweats and lack of sleep I reckon lol.

Oh and stinky stinky ugg boots here too lol. At least the swelling in my feet have gone down now and i can fit into them ha ha. Just adds to the sexy new mum look/feel doesn't it?

Yep, the bleeding, leaky knobbly boobs, swollen feet, bags under the eyes all scream yummy mummy!! Hehe
