well, I kind of want to write a big post about nothing, but am on feeding alert as he's been asleep for 3 hours, and is stirring now, so pretty good chance that my time is limited.
Mum2Bxx - welcome to our group, and congrats on the birth of your little man.
Kate - thanks for your replies to my BFing issues, that BLA link was really helpful, and I'll definitely be trying it out, once I can get things fixed enough to be less painful.
Becka - loved your birth story in the pg thread, thanks for sharing.
Sarah - yay for having a little one who is fitting in so easily.
Pam - hope you're doing okay, any more dramas from your eldest DD, or is she keeping her head down for the time being?
MurraysMum - congrats on the safe arrival of Izzabella, so glad you beat the induction.
Apologies to those I've forgotten - writing this post off the top of my head, which is still pretty fuzzy.
Well, we survived our 1st day without DH on the scene, as he went back to work yesterday. And he had to work late, so didn't get home until after DS1 went to bed, so it was a long long day. I definitely need more practice at juggling everything, although I did manage to get both children fed, which is one thing.
And there's my baby alarm - take care, and enjoy those baby cuddles!
Hi all,
How are we all going! Bubby Lucas is just adorable, he is sleeping more at night now which is wonderful and I don't hear boop from him in the day hardly, he loves the noise of Hannah running around, so Im glad he can tolerate that and I vaccumed and he handled that as well, bring on the white noises hey!
Hannah has accepted him too and has from day one, she is filling the role of big sister and loves getting his nappies. It's funny the one really put out is our dog but even he is settleing now.
mum2Bxx welcome to our group, 15 days over due wouldn't of been fun. I hated being 4 days over.
Sarah your bub pics are gorgeous, she is beautiful. How do I put a link to my facebook photos on here?
Murraysmum: Yeah she finally made a safe appearance, hope it all went well for you, how is Murray going with bubby around?
Time for me to tottle jug has boiled going to make a cuppa and then feed the little man xx
I thought I posted in here the other day to get email update's but didn't. Anyway, catch-up time... I am shocked with how many of us still made it into this group. Last group I was in most went early or on time.
Kate, gee you are on the ball with update all the info and stuff to new thread... Good on you. How is Abby doing? Oh I got my baby ticker from lily-pie. I think they have a wide range of tickers to create.
BG: Most people have BFing issues. Gee this is my 4th and I still had the midwives just making sure I had her on right. And you know what she isn't on to what the boys where, (there were pigs) but it's not painful and I have no blisters and see seems to be putting weight on so I am not fazed...Hand in there, it's a tough process to deal with along with everything else our bodies have had to do in the last month.
Becka: That's great new's hannah has accepted Lucas. Kendell is the same, likes to noise of the boys. And you know what the only time they get told to be quite is of a night time after her bath. But apart from that, she joined our family which was busy and loud before she came along so she has to get used to it.
Facebook link, if you go into your facebook ablum and go right down the bottom of page it should say something "if you want to share this ablum with friends who are not of facebook" then there is a link below it. Just COPY and PASTE that in your next post...
Thanks regarding photos. Her professional ones should be back to me this week, and I can't wait, to see how they turned out, yet I am going to do some more of my own with her, and Photograpgher didn't bring any prop's, and I though he isnt going to use mine and take credit for it, like he has done with my posing ideas. So i will do some on saturday with her when DD is home to help... I got angle wings, a pod to put her in, different hats etc. I can't wait...
Pam: How is life now? How is Tilly doing? I assume she had lots of check-up after her birth 'cos of her kidney, what did the Dr's say they are going to do???
Me update:
Well I am just hanging in there most days. When DS1 is home DS2 is terrible and I could just put him in his cot to cry all day, but when DS1 at school DS2 is perfect and is my fav child.
I have been trying to get oraginsed with slower cooker on in morning which helps but kids all want me at the same time when I want to start cooking dinner etc. This is the time DH should be at home helping me feed & bath kids, but is either working late, or at mates helping him with his race truck. They go racing in June up in NSW I think, so he wants to go think it's a 7 day trip and I said if that's what he wants then go, I am not his mother and does not need to ask permission, only that he consider's his family first.
Which annoys me a bit, nothing changes in his life yet mine is turned upside down and as a woman/mother I just have to cope 'cos who else is around to do it. I think I still have baby blue's. I just hope it doesnt turn into full blown depression I don't have time to deal with it ATM. Am getting out of the house most days, even if just a walk down to shop to grab something to snack on...
Kendell is doing wonderfully, she has a bath around the 7:30ish mark then warpped up and boobie and off to bed by about 8pm. Then wakes up for a (sleep) feed around 12-1 for about 5-10minutes, then back to bed, then another (sleep) feed at around 4:30-5am then down until roughly 8-9am. Depending on what we have to do, walk DS1 to kindy then just bung her is coccon and pop in the pram under DS2. As long as she is wrapped up she will sleep like an angle, when she isnt she wake's herself from her own reflex's. Oh, she doesn't fit into 0000 bond suits anymore, but 000 bond are hugh, so we have moved over to Target brand and fits wonderfully in 0000 and still look little...
Anyway I better go, got brekkie dishes to do and washing to be put through the dryer then folded...

Sorry about to feed, just came on for a quick check and Tilly woke up, congrats Murraysmum on the birth of your little girl, i bet you are wrapt.
Looking forward to chatting to the girls from other groups whose babies made early/late arrivals, it has evened up our boy girl numbers!!!!
I will try to get on tonight for personals.. catch ya!!!!
Thanks for the welcome I'm not very good at personals but I'll try to keep up!
Sarah - that must be difficult for you with your DH. Even though this is my first baby, it is number 5 for DH (4 from a previous marriage) and so he is a great help. I don't know how you can do everything. I sleep most of the time when Angus is sleeping and if DH didn't keep on top of the washing, I'm afraid it wouldn't get done. So good on you for doing it all, and I hope you find the support you need.
Rebecca - Yes, 15 days over was terrible. I had tried EVERYTHING, but he just wasn't coming out in a hurry. Good to hear that your little man is sleeping more at night.
Bhoysgirl - I hope it all goes well for you now that your DH has gone back to work. My DH has 3 months leave, although sometimes I just wish he would go back to work for a little while as he seems to take over a bit at times! I'm sure you will get into a routine soon
I've just got a few things that I am interested in seeing what other's have found (especially being a first time parent).
Sleeping
How often do other babies sleep? Angus is feeds about every 3 - 3.5 hours and sleeps most of the time in between. Although sometimes it is difficult for him to get to sleep and he misses out on it because as soon as he is put down, he wakes up.
I've heard things about putting the baby to sleep dowsy and getting themselves to get to sleep on their own. Angus doesn't do that and either falls asleep during his feeds (at the breast) or falls asleep in our arms. Sometimes he is really unsettled and DH puts him in a sling for a while. I'm worried that we are establishing bad sleeping habits, but then he is only 2 weeks old, so does it really matter?
Also, Rebecca - you said your little boy is sleeping more at night. How long does he sleep then?? Angus sleeps the same amount during the day and night.
Feeding
How long does your baby feed for? Angus only breast feeds for 10 - 20 minutes. I was really worried about that at first, but I went to a feeding clinic the other day and the woman reassured me that he is thriving and therefore getting enough.
Crying
How do you deal with it?? I used to cry every time Angus did and poor DH would be trying to console both of us I am getting better, but I am trying to find different ways of settling him.
Well there's lots of other questions I have, but that is enough for now. I hope everyone is going well and enjoying lots of rest.
Glad to hear everyone is doing well!! I just popped in to say a quick Hi and will try and stop by again to write some personals!! Just busy as DH is home on holidays so we are making most of the time together!!
Welcome to Mum2Bxx....will find lotsa useful information on here!!!
Mum2b: my DH is a workaholic can't sit still for long, should have seen him while I was in labour, he was so board. Then when I came home form hospital he was ment to take 2 days off work to help me around the house, but he took DS1 & DS2 out visiting friends and running earns.
Sleeping... little M does about the same amount of time during the day, will almost get in 3 nap's before her night nap. When she is awake it's ony for 1-1.5hrs. So I just not the time she wakes up as to when to put her down...
I also put her to bed as soon as she seems sleepy to put her self off to sleep. I have learnt from the other 3 kids and bad mistakes I made early on, so I rarley make it with her. Granted she does get a little cuddy to sleep sometime but not often. Also when she wakes or grizzles, I let her go for 5-10mins as she is just stirring and puts her self back to sleep.
Crying... Well they are all ment to have a little cry to help there lungs develop more. But I don't let her get to upset, I can tell the difference from a hungery, to tired, to where are you, to wind cry. You will learn them all as well. As for us crying, I still have afternoon's, where I can just cry. Did it on Sunday, DH didn't know what to do, so he tidy the kitchen (which is REALLY rare) I didn't want to talk to him about why I was crying. Kids move had sad part which got me going...
I hope that helps you... Got to go and start dinner and put a baby down to another nap,
Hi girls, sorry have been trying to get my BM supply up and feeding Tilly as often as she needs but it is'nt workign and she is now comping nearly every feed, I guess I have been a big stress head over the last few months and a bit of a rough birth with bleeding and the works..so i should have expected to have some issues..I do normally and have'nt had the same issues as this time!!!????
She lost 500grams, then i took her for a weigh and she had only gained 100 back MHN says she is not getting enough sleep or milk,( I had her on the boob all the time trying to get my supply up and running..thinking i was doing a good job cause she wanted it etc, not really thinking about her lack of sleep) I am so disaapointed and feeling a failure, why won't my boobs do their job??? but i can't afford to add any issues to her kidneys problems.. so comping it has to be.. i will have to get over myself!!!! she is sleeping so much better, actually is milk drunk for the first time since she was born and still looking for boob, but getting a bit lazy and not latching on as well..I am currently waiting for her to wake up..boobs are leaking, and I can't help but think what a waste????
She has had her kidney US pretty much the same as what they saw through me..biggest cyst is now nearly 5cm, then a few at 2 cms and then 1cm and smaller, they are all jumbled up on top of each other, so they had trouble measureing them all, Tilly was great she slept through most of it and only peeped when she had to get dressed and undressed, she is such a good baby rarely cries.
We see the pead next week, for full US results and to see what the next step will be, most likely a repeat US next month!!! I am still worried a lot, the MHN says it is hard to pick up if urine is goign back the wrong way and UTI in little babies, so I find myslef wondering allt he time if thigns are well!!! I guess her behaviour would change??? maybe more crying? less sleeping? not much urine? all a guessing game!!!
I have added a pic of Tilly 2 weeks old after her bath...oh my goodness she looks like her daddy the poor girl...but I still think she is gorgeous!!!
Hi mum2bxx, I think we may have talked in your previous group..this is my 5th baby and I rmember you meantioning that you DH had other kids.. Baby no 1 is often abig shock, nothing can prepare you for what is going to happen to your life..from lack of sleep to hormones to ouch issues, be that boobs, down there or whatever. My Dh has another 5 weeks off work, sort of enforced leave..it is a bit too long for my liking..he starts to drive me nuts especially when he complains about how tired he is??? or when he makes my job harder by messing up my system or routine..which is oftenpoor boy is trying...BUT!!!!!
Your feeding sounds like it is going good, you must have a good supply, great he is sleeping like that between feeds...don't worry about them falling asleep on you at this stage they are way to young to spoil..my 19 month old used to fall asleep at the breast until about 6 months on the MHN recommendation I would wait about 15 minutes then transfer her to bed..that is when they are in their deep sleep, neraly always worked, sometimes I would sit and give her a little bottom pat. Crying happens often here as well..for laods of different reasons, sometimes anger, frustration, overwhelmed, sad ad or TV show, so proud of my family (sometiems they just do something so cute..I just start crying!! makes me so glad I had them) look at my gorgoues girl and the miracle that takes place to get her here and CRY!!! So I am the queen of cyring, don't feel alone.
leesha make the most of your time together...
Sarah, will get to have alook at you pics after personals I am sure they will be gorgeous, I am very envious..we have some professiinal pics booked for early May, hopefuly Tilly has gained some weight back by then an looks more filled out.
Becka I love rreading birth stories..you did a great job.. iw ill do mine sometimes soon..more a pregnancy journey and a bit of birth story..a CSections ripps you off in some many ways but then again a lot of people would probablly like to read about it..because you never know when it might happen to you I guess!!!
Bhoysgirl..big DD has gone to stay at a friends house..I feel a huge failure..BUT???? what can you do!!!! I just hope I have less problems with the rest of tthese kidlets..I keep wondering what I did wrong...but have come to the conclusin that I don't think it was anything in particular, sometimes things just happen and things could be worse..she is'nt doing drugs, drinking etc!!! You just wish them the best life they could have and i feel she is'nt filling her potenial and is'nt as happy as she deserves to be..CRY!!! and
Kate, how are you doing?? I was wondering last night if you had experinced any of the problems you were worreid about...I hoped not and given the fact you have been on a bit I guessed not. Is Abby doing well? Oh and Tilly arrived at 9.23am if you want to add that detail, why I never iculded that I have no idea??
Anyway off to wake this baby my nightie is wet and i am not wasting another drop I worked to hard for this milk to let it go to waste in my PJ's.
