Sarah - my DH is a workaholic too - I don't know what he is going to do with himself. But he was deployed overseas for the last 6 months of my pregnancy, so it is really nice to have him home.
Blackduckies - I think you were in my belly buddy group for a while (due the previous fortnight). I really feel for you having feeding issues. I did when I was in hospital (before the milk came in) and the paed said that Angus was dehydrated and so we had to top up with formula. We bought some home, but luckily we haven't had any problems since. It is definately a big shock having your first baby. I get so stressed when he cries and nothing could have prepared me for the lack of sleep (even though I had sleeping issues at the end of my pregnancy). I hope your BF works out - I know how frustrating it is when all that hard work goes to waste. In hospital I expressed for ages just to get 25ml of colostrum and then Angus would bring it all back up after drinking it
Just wondering how everyone felt after their birth? I've heard that the minute the baby is placed on your tummy, you forget everything.. Well I'm still traumatised by it all and many times find myself in tears just thinking about it Firstly I wanted it to happen by itself, but instead had the gel (but in pessarie form) and then the syntocin drip 12 hours later. Then I wanted a drug free birth, but insead had the gas, pethadine and then the epidural. And lastly, my mother who hung around all day from 7 in the morning, missed out on seeing the birth. She was annoying me just sitting there watching, so I asked her to leave, but she came back after the epidural and then left again when I had to start focusing on my pushing. I asked DH to go and get her, but he couldn't find her. Now I am really annoyed at myself for not asking the nurse to go and find her.
Oh well, I guess there isn't much you can do about it all now. But I really don't think I'll be in a mad rush to do it all again!
