Oh and Alison I remember you talking about the house situation a while back. I'd be exactly like you I think, not feeling like it was mine, any chance of a knock down - rebuild? Seriously, it's not supposed to be that expensive, and if DH is going to be spending $$$ to renovated then maybe that's an option? Then you could really make it yours at the same time as keeping the block, sounds like a fair deal to me!
