Hi girls! Just dropping in quickly to say I won't be around as have DP's 40th party today so will be preparing for that! Why is it when you have a big day that your kids wake you up at 6am? DD1 came in to say she needed to go to the toilet which normally would be great as her nappy was dry - but why today????

All in the hand hey, will have to teach Emily that one, she sucks on her hand then her fingers then makes herself gag and is not happy! I dream of 13hrs, lol.

Nai- Enjoy the 40th. Hope it turns out well.

Tarkine- I have images of this little baby chasing you across the bed, thats hilarious, he is such a booby monster!

My sister and nephew coming over today I wish they'd hurry cause I've been asked million times this morning where James is!
Ash been naughty at bedtime still, not going down, been confiscating her bedtime Dora figurines. Also have art type stuff as rewards to do next day if she is good, so far not come out of the bag!

Nai - all the best with the party - I think its murphy's law about the waking early.

AJP - I read that girls were better sleepers than boys.

OP - I hope those 90 min feeds were a once off! Well done on entertaining all those mums and bubs!!
Ali - for bf'ing in public darl!! That's awesome. How was Ash today? I hope she was more settled for you.
AJP - at 13 hours! Did you keep checking to see she was breathing? lol! on the wine - you deserve it!
Tarkine - Sorry darl but I had to at the image of your 3 month old bailing you up against the wall to feed!
Nai - Hope you're having a great time tonight.
Shell - Sorry to hear that Ash is still being naughty. You sound like you're having a rough trot between the two girls and their sleep issues. How is your DP and FIL going?
Laura - How was your BB break?
Holly - Hope you've managed to get some sleep in the last couple of days. I hope your sister is doing ok. Prison can be tough - can she sign onto protection at all?
Heaven - Not much sleep in your house either lately! Hope it improves soon.

AFM - Jacob now weighs 5kg exactly He'd put on 390g in 15 days which is fantastic because I've hardly been topping him up with EBM at all. Since the weigh in yesterday he has been feeding a bit better too and sleeping well (day and night!!). For example, he's asleep now, has been for the past 1.5 hours and he slept over an hour between the feed before that too! He never sleeps like this in the evenings. Murphy's Law though, I'm actually waiting for him to wake up so we can give him a bath, feed and go to bed myself! I put him down at 7:30pm expecting to get 20 mins to eat dinner in but he's stayed down. Bet he's up all night now

Quick question for those of you in cloth - what type of covers and/or pockets are less prone to leaks? For the past two days almost every nappy I've put on Jacob he's wet or poo'd through (even the Maz covers have leaked although less than others). I'm sick of changing his clothes at every nappy change!! Some have been only on him for a little over an hour too

Laura- I've posted in your other thread, hope now you have the space you can work out what you want that will make you happy.

Kaz- Yay on that weight gain! I find too when Em sleeps better she feeds better. Df and FIL much the same, they gave FIL a month to live about a month ago and moved him into pall care but they've done such good job looking after him there he is doing ok, hasn't got any worse.

Holly- How are you doing? Does your sister have a court date or anything coming up soon? So much going on for you at the moment. How is L doing? Don't forget if you want to catch up anytime for coffee/ chat I'm just in Bentleigh.

Not much here, tired, Df not helping out enough, he says he never gets a break but gets a night out with the boys every week where I struggle to find 5 mins just to have bloody shower.

anyone else thing bubs is having a growth spurt? millie has been feeding 2 hoursly the past few days and both sides

Hi Everyone - I am feeling a bit tired but the party was great! DP is VERY hungover I am getting DD1's virus so I have a sore throat The girls were so well behaved though. DD1 went home with my mum to Ballarat and is staying until tomorrow. Miss J only woke at 5am for a quick feed and then back to sleep until 8.30am - yay!

Jols - wow with the 13 hours!! Miss J stays awake about 75mins before needing a sleep except for at the end of the day when she can go about 2 hours. Last night she stayed awake from5pm - 9.30pm without grizzling. She is feeding lots - when she wakes and before she sleeps snd she is breaking through her nappies with her poos some days!

Laura - I hope everything is ok and you can get everything sorted without too much angst.

Shell - glad FIL is doing ok. DF needs to pull his socks up - one night a week out is a LOT! DP gets about one a month, one a fortnight at the most!

OP - hoe are the feeds going? I hope not as frequent!

Trakine - LOL at your booby monster chasing you across the bed

Kaz - Yay on the weight gain! At 8 weeks Miss J was 4.8kg so he is doing well!! I use Fuzzibunz pocket nappies which I used for DD1 so they have done both girls. They don't leak unless it is a real explosive poo but then I haven't found anything that contains them! I'm not sure if you can get them in Australia anymore though - they used to be distributed through Honeychild.

Nai- Glad the party went well, I saw some pics on FB, looked like everyone had good time.

AJP- Here we get 75-90mins between sleeps usually, but if she has only had a really short sleep she doesn't last long til next.
And yes on the growth spurt I was so thinking that today as Em been unsettled, grizzly, gulping down the first side in like 3 mins then screaming, give her the 2nd and sge draining that too!

Laura- Big hin. PM me if you need anything. I hope this is what he needs to waake up to himself and realise what an amazing fiance and mother you are. Will post in your other thread as well but lots of to you.

Kaz- That is a fab weight gain!! Yay for Master J!!

Shell- to you hun. It is hard when they dont appreciate it.

Nai- Get better soon hun. Glad you and DP had a great party last night. Always good to let the hair down!

AJP- How you feeling? Geting anymore sleep? In regards to ash's awake time, it varies heaps. Sometimes can be 2 hours, sometimes just enouhg for a feed and a nappy change. I hate to say it (as I prob sound like a bad mum) but because I dont really put her down in her cot to sleep, she just sleeps where ever and whenever. I really do need to sort that out soon but going to wait a couple more weeks.

Tarkine- good to hear from you

AFM- DP had Ashlyn basically all day today and he realised its hard to even go to the toilet but I also think he appreciated his time with her as he has said a couple of times today that he really liked spending the time with her. Last night was a bit of a shocker for Ash, She does the first sleep really well then it is like every 2 hours until the rest of the morning. Hoping tonight is better. I cant complain though as she really is a good bub.

Oh sisters!!! LOL! Reminds me of my sisters! We did some mean things to each other! LOL! Eye gouging is probably part of the bonding process.

Ashlyn slept in her cot the other night for 2 hours!! I couldnt believe it. I put her in there when she was asleep though as DP and I wanted the bed to ourselves! It is going to be hard for me to get her to sleep in her cot though. (this from the mum who said "my dauighter will sleep in her cot from the day we get home".. and who now co-sleeps with her daughter!

    Hello all!
Was out all day yesterday with DD, went to a party with family and she got passed around everywhere!! OMG it was so annoying. And people just will not listen when I say give her back now she needs a feed/sleep they just pass her to someone else! Get lost!! And all the grubby kids were touching her and playing with her hands which she puts in her mouth. I'm paranoid about her getting sick! lol. Esp when her christening is this weekend, I don't want her to be sick. Talk about stressful!

Anyway, we finally had a good sleep last night. LOL it's like just when you think you can't go on she gives you a good night, haha. She went to bed at 7.30 and slept for almost 6hrs!! YAY!! My boobs were about to burst! But she's the same as Ash Ali, after her big sleep she's up every 2-3hrs. But at least she just feeds and goes back to sleep, phew. So I'm feeling better today.

And no way you're a bad mum Ali, DD sleeps on me all the time for every day sleep!! I can't even put her down! Well I could but she doesn't sleep for as long so I just leave her in the HAB so she can have a good sleep and she's not grumpy. It doesn't help with ppl always making comments about what you do! At the party yesterday on of my Aunties said to me 'ooooohhhhhhhhh...... you'll have to get her out of that habit' (about sleeping in the HAB) umm.. none of your business, I wasn't complaining about it or asking you to carry her around!!!! MYOB!!!!

Oh, sorry about the me post, will have to catch up on personals but DD is waking!

ETA- DD only really stays up for an hr before she's tired again. I don't know how you guys do it though if they don't sleep for longer than one sleep cycle sometimes and then they're tired again after 1hr and then they go back to sleep but haven't had a feed?? That's what I can't work out, lol, and another reason I just put her in the HAB bc when she doesn't sleep for long it messes feeds and everything up??

    Hi all,

SJ, I've had the same thought about sleep cycles and the wake-feed-play-sleep thing. Sometimes I have attempted to put Isabel down after an hour without a feed as she just wasn't looking hungry, then she gets cranky and I end up feeding to sleep... Happened this morning... so I wrote it off and we started a new cycle when she woke at 9am, we tried again.

Sounds like Isabel, Ash and Grace are doing the same thing - a big sleep then 2hrly after that. Pity last night I had washed my PJs and sleep bra and so I couldn't go to sleep til they'd dried... Aiming tonight to go to sleep when she goes to sleep!

Nai, glad the party was a great one! 40th, its gotta be! Glad the girls behaved themselves too.

AJP - we must be having a growth spurt here too. DD is feeding two hourly over night, two-three hourly during the day. (What's with that??? Shouldn't it be the other way around?!) Also I only manage to get about an hour out of her during the day before she's rubbing eyes, disengaging and yawning. But then I put her down and ZING she's awake! Ah well. We'll get there.

Laura, hope everything is going ok. You are sounding really positive about it which is great.

Kaz - great news on weight gains and winding down the EBM top ups! RE the nappies, I'm using Tots Bots - Flexitots and Bamboozles. They are a fitted nappy that needs a cover, so I'm using a Tots Bots cover too, which has a special tape sewn round the legs and waist to contain leaks. We have only had a few leaks - one yesterday where she did a hugely watery poo while she was asleep, so it all went up her back, poor poppet! But normally even her poos are contained - they might leak out the nappy but rarely out of the cover. I love the Tots Bots range.

Tarkine - I was laughing at the booby monster "chasing" you across the bed I think I'm off to a mums n bubs movie this week but yep its a chick flick - Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Looking forward to it!

AFM: As above, Isabel is still feeding two hourly overnight, well from whenever she wakes at around the 10pm-12am mark anyway. Off to MCHN today for weigh in - will report back once that's done. Curious to know how she is going, I think she is pretty big - wearing all double zero clothes now, even some size zero!

She is so talkative now - we sit and chat and chat, its gorgeous. I was singing to her before while I was getting her dressed and she started singing back at me, well trying to anyway! Like she wanted to join in. It was a very sweet moment.
