SJ - Glad the christening went well darl. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight!
Det - whoohoo on Levi rolling. 7.9kg OMG!! He'll be able to ride forwards in the car seat soon!
Shell - to you. You're sounding so tired and busy mate. I heard that our bbies get more efficient at making milk etc so it could be that causing you to feel less full? Look after yourself darl. How are things with DF? Is he appreciating you more?
Ali - hello lovely! How frustrating you lost your posts. Hope all is well with A. Has she stopped screaming and fussing during feeds yet?
Meg - whoohoo on having the afternoon off from housework!
AJP - How're your energy levels going? Hope you're taking time to rest.
Hi to everyone else!!
AFM - J is doing well atm. I'm a bit like Tarkine, don't want to mention sleep because it's not too bad here compared to what some of you are going through. Actually last night he slept from 10pm to 7am!! He hasn't slept through like that since he was 2 weeks old. I woke up with my bbies about to explode! So painful. I'm sure my turn of hourly overnight feeds will come! He's a bit younger than most of your bubs so I reckon next week will be our shocker. :hugs: to all who are going without sleep. It won't last!
We had great aunty, gran and great gran and I'm exhausted!! DS was a trooper with being passed from one to the other, and the look on his face when he saw 4 of hte other grandkids was priceless (big bulging eyes "hey they are closer to my size!) The three of them were jammed in the laundry, wiht gran bathing Alex in the laundry trough!
Sorry just got back and I'm up to my eyeballs in laundry and I'm absolutely stuffed.
Nai - woot on getting over the cold
Kaz - well done on the overnight sleep.
Sorry no personals, just trying to recover from the inlaws (hehe).
Back home - got home late last night and resettled Isabel in her own bed. She slept better - fed at midnight, 2.30am, 5am. Didn't settle after the 5am feed so eventually DH brought her in and we coslept until about 8.30am.
Don't know how you guys do it all night - I was a bit stiff and sore from holding my body rigid so as not to fall onto DD! Serious question - how do you feed from both sides while cosleeping? Do you move around or something?
Tonight she has settled much easier - she fed really well after her bath and went straight to sleep with the dummy when I put her in the cot. Going to go to bed soon. DH looking for some action - we'll see how we go. It still hurts, TBH! Sorry for the TMI!
Tarkine - well done on surviving the in laws! Good luck catching up on laundry!
Kaz - hoping you don't go thru this hun. It is not fun but as Det says its just a phase!
Det - what a champ is Levi - the snip snip, the weight gain, the rolling!!! What an absolute champ.
Shell - I'm wondering if mine is dropping a bit too. I'm going to have a chilled day at home tomorrow, drink lots of water and see if I can get DD a bit more settled. I know what you mean about the exhaustion not helping.
Ali, bummer about the posts! I copy-paste whenever I'm writing something long.
Meg, super woman on the cleaning! Hoping to get some done myself here.
SJ - I'm having a feral 12 week thing now too. Except we started before 12 weeks and are still going at 13 weeks... sigh!
Nai - don't think I will make it tomorrow, feeling a bit tired from my time away and we're going back down on Thurs so need to catch up on housework. That and I'm scaredy cat LOL
Shel - I know what you mean about being unable to rest with baby #2. Maybe try some fenugreek for the milk supply as well?
Det - it was great to see you again yesterday. Levi is such a cutie!
OP - missed not meeting you Next time? With co-sleeping I roll Miss J over my chest from one side to the other for feeding. You do get used to it and find a position that works. We had Miss J in with us the other night as she now has the cold - Grrrrr!
Megie - I hope E sorts herself out soon and sleeps a bit later for you! 5am is a bit too early to start the day.
Kaz - yay on the sleep!
Tarkine - good to see you back. Glad you survived
AFM - we had Miss J's 3 month check earlier this week. She is STILL Little Miss Average - 50th percentile for everything. 59cm long and 5.33kg so she is very consistent. However, the poor little thing is all stuffed up with the cold now. She has a little snotty nose is making noises when she breathes - it's so sad DP went in and got the snip done on Tuesday so definitely no more babies for us now! He was told to "do nothing" after the procedure and let me tell you he really took "doing nothing" to a whole new level. Even yesterday he came home from work early and lay down in bed and did nothing again. Amazing how men can do that!
My Df is refusing the snip cause for some reason he has in his head it'll make him less of a man. I guess no sex here cause to be honest I'm struggling with the 2 kids I have, god knows how I'd do 3. Maybe once they're in school but Df will be too old then!
Nai- Thats where that whole difference with men and woman, we told to do nothing we still have to do things or the place will fall apart, men literally do do nothing.
Poor J and her cold, its awful when they're struggling to breath esp when feeding and they can't do it properly.
Meg- Yeah thats way early, Em decided to be awake 6:30 today and I thought that was just too early, I layed in bed next to her tho while she chatted away and had a little nap.
My supply seems to have improved, no top up required today or yesterday, still waiting for her to go longer at night, 5hrs is the most I can get and thats if I give her formula at night othewise I'm lucky for her to get 4hrs.
we had first trip to hospital last night, we thought mille had croup but they think by the time we got there her air way had opened again, lucky too that they see wee bubs quickly! so poor thing was awake from 6pm-12am with only 90 mins sleep but slept til 7.30, then til 11.30, hope shes ok tonight!
Jols- how scary for you. My mum told me I had croup as a young baby 2. Apparently quite scary. Glad Millie is okay now. Hope tonight is better. Shell- Men do get it pretty easy even though they whinge that they are hard done by. They have no idea what hard done by means! LOL! I dont know what our plan for more kids is. I def want another one but not sure exactly when. DP said he would like us to have more money which is understandable. You are doing a great job with your girls. Glad your supply has been better. Nai- LOL at your DP taking it completely easy and doing NUDDA! They are literal beings arent they! Hope Miss J's cold clears up. You guys have hads a bad run with thecold in your house.
Megie- That 5am wake up must be awful! I dont think I could handle that. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. OP- you get used to the co-sleeping and your body becomes less stiff. I actually sleep so well now. (touching some wood right now). In regards to DTD it still hurts for me as well but only in the beginning. Also way TMI but I make sure I am in control IYKWIM Tarkine- hope you caught up on the washing. Sounds like you had a great time away witht he family. Kaz- what a great sleep from J!!! IS he in his cot or bassinette? Glad things are going better for you hun. Ash is still being a bit funny with feeding. I really think its my supply. I am struggling to drink enough water now its cold. Raver- How was your trip? I know what you mean abouut losing your post its so frustrating. I am copying this before I send it!! Hope all is going well with you and the kids.
How much water do you girls drink a day??
AFM- Had mothers group today it was really good. Stopped in at work yesterday arvo so they could see Ashlyn again and I could catch up on the gossip! Cant really think what else. Atleast I got my personals done. Apologies to anyone I missed. Just did what I could see on this page.
Might be putting co-sleeping on the agenda. Thanks for all the tips!
Had a good chat with Det at Mother's Group today about DD and her lack of good sleeping overnight, she says I need to listen to my instincts more and stop freaking out so much!
She is super, that woman That was until she called me a chicken for not going to the meet up yest, LOL.
We got three and a half hours between 1.30 and 5am today, then she woke again at 6am and we co-slept til 9am. That was nice. We're off down the beach house again this weekend so we'll see how we go.
Ali - it sort of hurts at the beginning for me too. Maybe I need to "be in control" Re the water - I have a 750mL bottle that I refill at least twice a day, sometimes more. I'm trying to drink a lot more as my intake dropped off a bit.
AJP - oh no, poor Millie. Hope she is feeling better and gets some good rest tonight, poor thing.
Shell - that's great on the supply. Don't stress about overnight, whenever you feel tense about it just think of me and be glad you're getting 4 hours
Nai - poor DP, LOL! Did you tell him you didn't get to "do nothing" after your c-sec??? Poor little J with her snuffles. Lots of cuddles I reckon.
Meg, 5am is definitely too early! Hope that settles down soon.
Hi to everyone else! Isabel has gone down fairly easily tonight - in bed and asleep by 7pm, without needing to be rocked or anything, yahoo! We'll see how the night goes.
Ali - I drink at least 2L of water a day - have water stashed whereever I feed Alex
Shell - on the overnight feeds.
Nai - hear you with the DH on going overboard on taking it easy.. men hey?
OP - go with your instincts. Great Aunty is a nurse who looked horrified when I said I cosleep with Alex, just like the MCHN nurse did. I just sit there and say whatever with placate them and then do what works for us. I'm getting whiplash from all the different opinions on everything baby.
AJP - hope Millie is better
meg - 5am?! I'd like to say is there such a time but I now know there is such a time
AFM - Alex has been clingy today.. spends hours a day on the boob. i had to hand him to the lady in centerlink yesterday, because he didnt' want to sit in the pram while I sorted out the stupid family assistance crap. Of course he went all quiet when he was out of the pram looking around.. remind me to kick DH in the behind, for getting Alex started with this manovre!
Hi Ladies
Just popping in to say 'Hi' and see how everyone's doing? Hope all mums and bub's are doing well...ground hog day here lol...all in all...doing ok.
Exxx
Meg- Wow, that is so special having a christening gown that old!! DD wore the one my brother wore who is also her Godfather. shell- it feels like my supply has been down a bit in the last few days too but I think it's just coz DD is having a growth spurt and feeding so much and also that I'm getting a cold and not enough sleep. det- Thanks det. How long does this last? Will it be over soon?? I need sleeeeeeeeeeepp. I feel like a zombie. I have 4 mouth ulcers and now am getting a cold!! Great. I thought the MCHNs were supposed to tell you no solids until 6 months?? Yay on the rolling!! Clever boy!! Kaz- omg what a great sleep, I'm so jealous!! tarkine- good to hear you survived the outlaws OP- Poor DH has been kicked out of bed for the moment while DD is being so annoying, lol. He's on a mattress on the floor When this growth spurt is over he can come back but atm I have her in with me so i don't have to keep getting up or turning the light on to feed her. I'm like you, I don't have enough room and feel all stiff in the morning with her next to me so I need more space so I can move away from her! Nai- aww....hope the cold goes soon. I have one now and I really hope Grace doesn't get it! Jols- omg how scary!! I don't even know what croup is!! Ali- I have no idea how much water I drink but not enough I don't think. Wish I had a mothers group!! I'm going to start going to the ABA meetings I think. ellie- hello!!
Well, I was soooooo tired yesterday that DH had to have a sickie, lol. I was all dizzy and he said I was slurring my words, pmsl. So he was too scared to leave us alone. haha. So I got to sleep all day yesterday and am feeling better now. I hate this 12wk period!!!!!!!!! omg.
Jols - how scary for you! Is Millie ok now? I remember the 2am rush to hospital with Genevieve - it's awful and we are only 10min from the Royal Children's but it feels like it takes forever
Megie - I thought they only tried to talk men out of it if they were under 30 and childless. Nobody tried to talk DP out of it - but he is 40
Shell - good to hear your supply seems to have improved!
Ali - I'm bad with water too. I always forget and then end up drinking 3 big glasses at a time to make up for it.
OP - LOL at Det calling you chicken Next time!!
Heaven - hope you get some sleep soon!
Hi Tarkine & Ellie - good to see you both!!
No news here - have a busy weekend with a wedding and 80th. Fun fun fun!
Oh also, RLT can help with milk supply if you have any left from when you were pregnant!! I just found that out. But I was drinking it coz I actually like it, hahaha. I still have a bit left.
my supply has been bad this week too with millie been a little off, not feeding well with a stuffed up nose etc.. untill yesterday when she fed well then slept 11 hrs over night and man my (.Y.) were HUGE!!! i havent been that engorged for ages!! had to feed her one side and express the other, then she slept anther 3 hours so the side i expressed was full again!!
the hospital was great, though hoping thats the one and only time i do night hospital trip!!
nai sounds like a busy one! have fun!!
sara sounds like your very rundown are you taking any vitamins?????
Jols- OMG 11 hrs over night. When is it my turn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, very run down I have been slack with taking my multivitamins and iron tablets. Off to take them now, thanks for the reminder!!
