Hi guys! Just about to jump into bed, but won't be on for a few days so thought I'd let you all know Allira's stats:

    at 4 months:

    7kgs (75th %)
    60cms long (25th%)
    41.4cm HC (50th%)

I thought she was going to be bigger actually. I'm surprised. I think she's stayed pretty similar the last couple of weeks.
And my MCHN today mentioned that they have changed how they do the appts now. They don't really look at what your baby is doing in line with other 4 month olds (for example) now, they just ask you 10 questions, and if you answer yes to any of them ( mainly if you have any concerns) then they do their own investigation. It's apparently in line with NSW?
I think it will put much less stress on Mum's. Won't be worrying before you hit certain appointments what you're child can/can't do, but if you have concerns, you raise them and they will help you out.

Anyway, enough from me.... Will try and pop back before the weekend, but I'm flat out tomorrow.
    xxoo

yup, you're crazy J! but we still luv ya!

reality being what it is, you can start TTC now and still be trying six or 12 months down the track (hope you're not, but you know what i mean!) - people who want a specific age gap and will only TTC once they reach the time that age gap would occur are kidding themselve really! we're not taking any precautions - it's unlikely to happen, but if it does so be it.

not a lot to report today. E is back asleep (lucky bag!) and i am sitting here feeling like crud! been feeling really headachey (happens when you only see the chiro once in 17 weeks) a bit rundown, and now i feel like i'm getting a cold - you know that feeling at the back of your nose when you feel a cold coming on? last time i got like this i was able to fight it off (was pg at the time) but i'm not sure i'll be able to this time. having weird dreams again too - who dreams that their mum is pregnant (ick!) and having a baby shower while IN labour (double ick) that you have to go on a scavenger hunt for - and then the actual baby shower is taking place while she births in a pool with those kids ball things (from the play pool things) floating on top to give them privacy?? it was bizarre! worst thing was, in the dream, mum had E while i went on this stupid scavenger hunt around town, and when i got back, E was missing - i asked mum where she was and she said she'd given her to DH - but i couldn't find him - i woke in a panic, rolled over and elbowed him, asking if he had and if she was ok - he ended up getting out of bed to check her for me cos i was so worked up.

hmmm, DH getting me cereal - should probably eat, then find me some panadol

J - My younger brother and I are only 18 months apart - and we have a wonderful relationship (He is one of Baileys godfathers), my other brother is 3 years older and we have a good relationship, but its not as close as Simon and I. I think its more personality though than age TBH. Good on you for going for it if thats what you and DH want for your family - if anyone says anything negative tell them to bugger off Personally, I just dont have the stamina for another one just yet (I'm an old hag compared to you though LOL)

BG - that sure is a weird-arse dream!! LOL Sometimes when I remember my dreams I am weirded out by the strange things my subconsious concocts, and the random people that appear in my dreams LOL Hoping the job situation is working out for you guys

Nicky - Nice stats!! Allira is growing nicely! The CYH appts are a bit random - they do the percentile thing but the rest of the discussion is really mother lead .... I think I might keep taking Bailey monthly - I have to go back to the Paed in Dec anyway, but am interested to see what impact solids has on his growth. I noticed when I bathed him last night that he already looks a bit chunkier - not quite the runt he was last week

Nicky and Bridg - I definately will be in Shepparton next weekend if you are about - while we are busy with the relo's on Sat and Sun - if either of you are around the place on Monday (late morning or lunchtime-ish) would love to catch up for a coffee or a quick bite before we drive home, if not will see you both in Nov anyhoo Assuming the drive over goes OK, I want to head home mid afternoon and Bailey is more tired in the arvo so will sleep more in the car than driving in the morning when he is alert and wanting to play (sounds good in theory anyway LOL, I might have to change things around once I see how he travels there)

I just put Bailey down for a nap and he kept opening his eyes and looking around his room and then smiling and giggling at Big Bird on his wall - its was so funny - then a few minutes later he was fast asleep - gawd he's cute!! He makes me laugh!!

Amy- Yep, Logan is still rooming in with us. I feel mean putting him in his own room, because Jake and Zac share and Leigh and I share, and he would be all alone.

    Nicky- Noice stats for Allira!

BG- What a weird dream?! I have been having weird dreams since I was pregnant with Logan.

Naomi- Yep I will be floating around. Next week (28th Sep-2nd Oct) is the last week of school hols. Are u coming on the 3rd October? The 5th is the 1st day back at kinder, so the only time I wont be home will be between 12.45 and 1pm.

AFU, Well I almost cried last night, when Logan slept in his cot. He looked soooo tiny in there, but he likes that when he wakes, he can see everything.

Over it. So very, very over it. Sorry to just come in here to vent, but I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!! Ivy has gone from being a very chilled-out little girl, to one who screams hysterically every time I try to put her down for a day-sleep. Just then she got herself so worked up she was gagging. I've tried everything I can think of to get her to settle while still lying down but she just gets more and more upset until I have to pick her up. The only thing that works is putting her in her little zip-up 'swag' with handles and rocking her or swinging her until she is completely out. If I try to put it down too early, she wakes up fully again and scccrrrrreeeeeeaaams. I don't want to teach her that she needs to be rocked to sleep, but right now this is the only thing that works. She's actually too big for it and this won't be a viable option for very much longer. AARRGGHHHH!!!!

On top of this, 4-5am is now dancing and singing time. Very cute, but trying all the same.

Where has my peaceful, easy-going girl gone?

Sorry... hi to all of you. I just don't have any more in me than a vent right now. Just feel like crap. Those screams get into your bones, I swear.

    Hey Girls!

How you all going? Can you believe our babies are 4 mths old (or almost) already!?? Wow..times sure does fly!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRYSTIE!!! Is it the big 30? Ahhh 30..it's like the new 20 hehe

Cara is teething FOR SURE! She has clamped down on my boob a couple of times with her gums. Drooling heaps and waking up a lot at night. I don't think it will be too much longer before I feel a little tooth poking thru!

She's at such a cute age now, she sometimes will stop during a feed and just smile and have a 'chat' hehe..so cute. Distracting when you are trying to feed her out and about though. I have yet for her to take my boob with her when she turns to quickly look at something hehe.

Santosha: Whoa..that's scary with your DH. I'm glad to hear she was ok. I think every Mum has one or two scary moments when they are little. Freaks you out I know.

Getting some pixi photos of the girls done this week!! Wooohooo!! Immunisations are around the corner too. Sigh..Cara was a bit grumpy last time.

    Hey Girls!

Hope all the babies are doing well! Cara is growing well..8.2kg at 4mths!! My arms are getting a work out! hehe

I tried her on solids (rice cereal) a week ago..not interested, kept spitting it out, so I am going to wait til she is 5mths now. (i also tried a few days ago, still not interested). Oh well..less mess to worry about hehe

Cara is grabbing her feet all the time now and sucking her thumb sometimes. Very cute! I was a little concerned at first, but I've been told by others its not a problem at this age. So having a dummy of thumb sucker is only a concern when they get adult teeth.

Just reading that some bubs have had thrush in their mouth. Laura had that when she was a newborn. Poor thing. I did not discover it until she was 3 weeks old. I just thought my breast pain was the normal pain I get when I start feeding them. I think I used canestan at first (on nipples). That didnt work. Then some drops...also useless. Then at last we got the daktaran gel. The best!

I've been taking a HEAP of photos lately. And I dicovered Picasa 3 on google. Totally fabulous for making collages of all my photos heheh. Thanks to Vic for posting that on her facebook. Lovin it!

OMG Naomi! Bailey is 6mths old???? I can't believe that!! But then he was early hey hehe. Before you know it he will be sitting up and seeing the world from a different perspective.

I thought maybe I was running out of milk, and then Cara slept longer than normal the previous night..I woke up SOAKED hehe She's been waking up 4-5 times a night someimtes. The last two nights FINALLY she's had a good 5-6 hour sleep. Such a refief. I am sure teeth are on their way.

Beautiful weather here at the moment. And all the Jacaranda trees are in bloom..so pretty!

    Have a great weekend girls!

Nicky: LOL @ A trying to roll in the bouncer! If Phoebe outgrows her bouncer I'll be in massive trouble. It's one of my most useful tools.
BG: What a pi$$er @ the gas situation. That totally sucks and I don't blame you for wanting to kick some butt. However, I am sure you're right that if you leave it be then you can let go of the stress a little better. Doesn't help that miss E is giving you a rough trot with no day sleeps. Phoebe is soooooo cross if she doesn't get her three (sometimes miniature) naps during the day. GL with the settling - hope she picks up on it soon.
Naomi: Hope your headache is gone? When do you leave for the GC? I am sure you will have an ace time away. Enjoy every minute.
Cathy: Oo, 8.2kg does sound like a good arm workout! I've no idea what Phoebe weighs... I think I might have to do the dodgy weigh-myself-without-her-then-with-her routine. No other reason to go to the nurse, and I'm taking both the girls in late November anyway.
Your collages are great! I have been a bit slack posting photos because I have to resize them and it takes time... and motivation, LOL! But I have been appreciating other peoples' shots.
Glad Cara is going a bit longer overnight for you. You must be completely wrecked. Does Laura wake early? When I've had a couple of wake-ups with Phoebe overnight I usually get woken early by Natty Always the way.

We went to the pool with our playgroup yesterday. I was sorry that I hadn't bought Phoebe a swimming costume yet (and didn't have any spare swim nappies). But I dunked her feet into the water a few times. She didn't really respond at all, LOL!
Can't decide what to get Phoebe for Christmas. What are you guys doing for your bubbas?
Got to get the washing out etc now - we're off for a cino as soon as P wakes up. Going with the same friends as last week's feral fountain incident... Wish me luck

    Hey Amy

I tried Cara on avocado this afternoon and she opened her mouth for more!! So she does like that! (expensive taste baby hehe). I posted some pics on facebook. I know what you mean about resizing stuff. I used to hate it, but I have this AWESEOME sony cybershot camera now (with rechargable battery even..no more expensive AAs!), and it resizes for web IN the camera!! It's awesome. (a 10mp) I love it! I still use my old sony camera (7mp) when the battery runs out hehe. But with that one I still need to resize.

The last couple of nights Cara has gone 5-6 hours straight! Finally back to what she was doing at around 4-8 weeks hehe. I don't know if it will last..we will see. Laura usually wakes up anytime from 7.30am onwards. Seems to need her 12 hours of sleep. I get her to bed at 7.30/8pm at night. She is a good little thing, will wake up and just play for a good half hour or so waiting for me to wake up. Such a sweetie.

All I have for Cara so far for Christmas is that fisher price piggy bank. I got it on special one day so I put it aside for her..though may be a bit advanced for her. Laura will like to play with it too lol. Laura is right into Toy Story movies, and there is a 3rd Toy Story coming out next year...so i got her some toy story pull string toys.

Ooh, avo is a fantastic first food! Natty used to have (once she started eating properly @ around 8mo) avocado and mashed sweet potato spread on cruskits, LOL! It was her favourite. She also liked pears and apples, but I remember her being particularly partial to the other dish.
I will probably just see what little interactive toy is on special when I go shopping and get that for P. No doubt Natty will be more interested in it than she is, as you say, Cathy. Your camera sounds very cool.
Laura sounds just adorable. I am really struggling with Natty... again. She is pushing it. Every day, she pushes harder. She has started deliberately hurting Phoebe now (although Phoebe doesn't usually mind - she's pretty resilient. But that's not the point, of course!), she's super clingy one minute - driving me nuts by hanging off my leg, then the next minute she's running away and refusing to come to me when I call her. It has been a tough time the last few days. DH has been working a lot.
Well, this whole toddler thing makes me appreciate how lovely babies are. I am really enjoying Phoebs, even when she's cranky. Sometimes when she's cross and overtired, I'll put her on the boob and try to calm her off to sleep and she makes these little angry grunty noises as she feeds. It is just hilarious and makes me smile every time, even though she's giving me attitude. I am trying hard not to play favourites, and I don't ever compare the girls' behaviour when I'm talking to them, but it comes down to experience, I suppose. The stuff Natty throws at me is totally new, whereas I've done the cranky baby thing before and I know that it's over all too soon.
Probably I have babbled enough. Goodnight all, hope you are enjoying your weekends.

Amy - re Xmas presents, we have some stacking cups, a Cow Piggy Bank and an Ernie Bath speed boat thingo for the bath. I also have an 'around we go' playstation which we have already unpacked seeing as they grow out of things so quickly, (its in Jacinta's pic's of Jamie as he has one too)

But yesterday Sean and I caved and bought the Fisher Price Jumperoo thing for Bailey for him to use now - LOL. I put him in it at Target again and he was so happy that we couldn't resist - so thats $200 less we have to spend on each other (no xmas presents for us hahahahaha). The smiles and laughs we get from him playing in it though are worth every cent He absolutely LOVES it!!

We farmed out a few big present idea's to the Grandparents to save some cash hahahahaha - a paddle pool from the inlaws and a swing (the baby ones you can hang under the verandah) to my Mum

So basically Bailey is spoilt rotten already and my plans not to have a house full of plastic crap have already gone out the window!!!!

LOL, Naomi... I think that's why I'm so unsure of what to get - we already have a house full of plastic crap. And I just bought another piece for Natty's birthday - a sand and water table for outside.
I think we will be light-on for gifts this year too, but wanted to think it through before the rush starts. (Although it may have already - seems to start earlier each year.)
