Crap night for us - Baileys digestive system seems to be getting used to coping with solids so he woke himself up about 1030 to poo and took 1.5 hours to go back to sleep, he had a feed mid morning and woke about 615. I took him to the Dr today as was a bit worried about the poo (he is poo-ing much more solid - little soft pellets that his butt cheeks squash into these little pancakes and seems to be really straining to get them out - but they are pretty soft. Dr said its normal and his body is just adjusting to solids - Hmmmmmm He's done about 5 of these since he woke this morning. I've given him a little cooled boiled water to ensure he is hydrated and doesn't end up with hard little poo's. Must seek some advice in the Solids forums. Having said that I think it may be the thrush thats actually bothering him.....

However the same stupid Dr then asked me how long I was BF for and I said I'd BF at least until I go back to work - he then told me that BF after 12 months is a waste of time anyway - this really really ****ed me off. I'd rather BF Bailey than use the toddler formula that is marketted (I'll just use cows milk after 12 months anyway), but seriously, how is something that nature makes a mother create to nourish her child a waste of time after 12 months? Still seething!! Cant believe he is giving out that advice! Luckily I am educated enough to ignore him but can just imagine another young mother giving up on that advice. He's not my normal GP, I had to go in as Baileys thrush is back (again) so I needed to be treated as well as I think we are just passing it back and forth.

Aggggggh, enough of a vent for me, I am tired and angry this morning

On a happier note - Bailey is 5 months old today - far out, where did the time go?
