Kyson's decided not to have an afternoon nap, so we're just running out to grab some groceries, but I wanted to pop in and tell you all that...

They said 'YES'! The geneticist is sending a recommendation to our IVF specialist for us to have PGD, and he's authorising the lab to do the testing. I have an appointment with our specialist next Wednesday so I guess I'll find out then when we can start or IVF journey. I'm very excited now that it's actually going to happen! I had my doubts as to whether we would get accepted as candidates.

not a lot happening here - i have a sore face - is starting to stress me out a bit - had major surgery a couple of years ago for a cyst that ate a third of my cheek bone and it's in the same place! not loving it. should probably tell DH but i don't want him to worry...

Cara has started to put her hands up in the air when we say "Hands in the air"..so cute! Yassie used to do this I remember.

Krystie - AWESOME news mate, very happy to hear that they'll get the ball rolling for you! GL for next wednesday. I remember when we had all our testing and then the green light to go ahead with IVF I was excited - I had never wanted my AF to arrive so much in my life so we could get started LOL

Cathy - I actually put Bailey's teething necklace around his ankle during sleeps - I cut the foot out of a pair of his old socks and just put the ankle part of the sock over it (otherwise it falls off), but the elastisied sock anklet works a treat to hold it on. I also take it off for baths / swimming so the cotton holding the beads doesn't decay. I think I had to wait a week or so for my original Avi (although it wasn't RAK time), but it was worth the wait :) Love the 'hands in the air' from Cara - Bailey gives us 'High 5s' which is too cute!! Hmm, I wonder if I should put some vegemite on Bailey's toast - not sure about the salt content though? - I might try a tiny scrape and see if he likes it.

BG - tell C about the sore face, I bet he'd rather know so he can help you feel better! **takes off bossy britches**

J - We use 'gentle' here too - Bailey gets a bit over-excited sometimes and likes to grab our face/noses etc and sometimes it bloody hurts, he almost claws us, generally with me using 'gentle' with a firm (but non scary tone) is enough to get him to stop. I also grab his hands and get him to stroke me instead of grab, he seems to understand. No biting here (yet!). He loves to pull my hair, and I am too vain :rofl: to put it up most of the time and determined not to get a short Mummy cut LOL, so I just say "hurting" and take my hair out of his hand, I think its just a case of being consistent and sending them the same message each time (and then distract them lol).

Amy - It's kinda handy having a little kid when it comes to car restraints isn't it? We plan to keep Bailey rear facing for as long as possible, and as he has short legs and is on the little side, we should get away with it longer than most (there is a positive to the splayed braced legs as they actually help in regard to this as they dont hit the backseat and wont any time soon :) )

Bella - hope you catch up on all the posts soon LOL!

Nicole - Loved seeing Aarons FB photo's, what a good looking boy he is!

Vic - Cerys's laughing vid on FB is hilarious, I was laughing along with her!! Gosh she's adorable (and cheeky) - I love it!!

Just in quickly... as most of you know... We have a tooth finally!! YAY! haha.
We've also had a few steps last week... so it's all happening. Hasn't done any since though. I think someone's just decided it's too much right now.

Anys, off to bed. We're not having great nights because of the teeth lately, so I sleep when I can.

Lol, looks like Kyson is the first to walk, but the last to get a tooth! Isn't it funny how they all reach milestones at different ages?

Kyson has JUST gone down to sleep. He only had about a half hour nap at our appointment today, then refused to go to sleep for his afternoon nap. I got him to sleep at his normal 7.30pm bedtime, but 10 minutes after being in bed he woke and absolutely refused to go back to sleep. He's been up playing (mostly) happily. Then he got rather cranky and screamed blue murder when I was getting him to sleep. I knew the crying was just because he was so tired, so all I could do was just keep holding him tight and cuddling him. He finally dropped off. Now I'm one exhausted Mummy. Gosh I hate this teething business. I got some baby nurofen and sm33 at the chemist this afternoon and gave it to him at 7.30. A whole lot of good that did, lol!

I have a tip about teaching babies about gentle/rough play. I've noticed at mother's group that when a baby starts getting a bit rough the mum's often start repeated "gentle, gentle" or saying it in a grumpy voice. Now, I'll admit that my advice is coming from stuff I learnt for teaching puppy class (LOL!) but it's valid for babies as well... When someone is saying that to a baby it's actually teaching them to associate that word with what they are doing at the time. So the mum's are saying "gentle" but the babies are learning to associate it with their rough play. (In dog world it's like saying "sit" before a puppy actually knows what it means. You should always wait until the pup actually sits before saying the word...). What I do with Kyson is when he is being rough I growl "too rough" and pull him or his hands away. But when he is being gentle or when I stroke his hands on my face I repeat in a sweet voice "gentle". Hopefully he'll learn that when he's going up to other babies and I tell him gentle then he'll know what I mean :) That being said, I'm sure there are a number of ways to teach a baby when play is too rough.

Nay, I'm a little annoyed because I'm expected AF on either Friday or Saturday, so I guess I'm going to have to wait a whole cycle before I can get started, grrrr. Is that how it works? They put you on the pill as soon as AF starts yeah? So I'm going to be a couple of days too early?

BG - Gosh I hope your face is ok! That's a little scary that it's sore at the same spot that you had surgery. I'd be telling C though. You'd want to know if the situation was reversed and he might get upset if he finds out later that you kept it from him.

Would you believe that while writing this I had to go in and resettle Kyson. *sigh* Poor little mite

Well it has been ages since I have posted. I have been very busy getting everything organised here and trying to see people who haven't seen Jemima. She has been waking up sometimes 4 times a night for ages since b4 christmas I think and I have just had to suck it up. However the last two nights she has woken up only once and today she actually slept till 8.30!!! I couldn't believe it! I looked at my ph and I had a missed call and thought it was really rude to call that early or that maybe one of my family was sick but it turned out to be 8:45. I was in shock! I think tho I might pay for my good fortune soon ie tonight. still fingers crossed.

Amy- so please to hear that you have a job and are happy:) I would love to make a wrap for you arny time. If you want a specific colour let me know.

BG- take care GF and get it looked at sooner rather than later. This is your nurse speaking!!!

Nic- glad to hear there isn't too much concern with bubbas head. If it was a big problem they would call you and fit you in urgently. So that all sounds positive to me.

Bridg- glad to hear that everything is ok on the hip front for you too.

Vic sounds like Cerys is a little trouper with the food:) J is starting to eat a bit more of a varied diet. I gave her meat (chicken) for the first time this week and she went nuts for it. Mind you her poo smells more now. LOL!

Krystie- You dont need me to tell you that I understand about your decisions to go thru IVF because we discussed the other day at sea world. I will say that I am really excited for you that you get to start trying again cos I am VERY jealous!!! I would start tommorow but with DH studying so much this yr and it being so important I will just have to wait. but next yr fingers crossed I will have the green light:)

Naomi- well my sweet sounds like you are all ready to start work again. I am have envious of you and half relieved that I am not back at work. I love my job but I love being a mummy more. I hope the transition is good for all of you.

Well if I thought you all talked alot last time then this time was just plain hard to catch you all up. I think I was back on pg 6 and then I had to read 6 pages!! I was daunted. If there have been important things going on that I haven't commented about it is just because I can't keep up!

Well I love you all and I hope to keep better up with bb. I have just lapsed with everything going on. I hope to go to the birth choices rally in brissy tommorow but I will have to see if I have the energy for it.

Krystie - Yeah I think I had to wait about 3 weeks for AF - DOH! From my experience the IVF process differs from clinic to clinic and is very much situation dependant (depending what the fertility issue is), but when we started, basically I was given all the drugs I needed about a week before AF was due, the nurse went through what to inject and when etc, then I had to call them the day my AF started so they could give me the green light to go ahead. I wasn't on the pill, I just had to wait for AF (and sorry for TMI but they considered the first day of AF when you have a proper 'flow' before midday, as lots of ladies spot for a few days as it starts). Then I had to take one injection for the first 7 days, then it went to two injections for the second week, then a 'trigger' injection 36 hours before my egg retrieval. I remember having to drop into the clinic every second day for an internal (!!! :o !!!) ultrasound to check follicle growth. I remember someone said to me when I was pregnant that I would lose all my dignity while giving birth, but after all the test etc from IVF I already felt like every man and his dog had seen my 'whohaa'. :rofl: Sean and I chose to use ICSI rather than traditional IVF (this is where they inject the sperm directly into the egg) due to Sean's sperm issues. Anyhoo, I think when you have to take the pill before thats called a 'down' cycle or something like that? Hopefully Nicole or BG will drop in with more info from their experiences, and not sure if you are going through Melb IVF? We used Repromed here in Adelaide and they seemed pretty progressive. HTH

Bella - good to hear from you - yeah, almost all set for work, gotta try on my work clothes to see what fits and then buy some new pieces. Hope you are settling in .... it takes a while after moving doesn't it, there is always a million things to do

ETA - Bella - If it was for damn money, I wouldn't be going back to work yet, as I agree, Mummyhood is my favourite ever job, but never mind, we chose this lifestyle and to build this dream house to fill with our family. At least I am going back to a job I do enjoy, I know a lot of Mums have to go back to work to jobs they hate, making it all the harder!

Well I did pay last night. I don't know how many times she woke up but it was heaps!!! I just took her to bed with me but she kept smacking my face all night cos she was restless. I think her tummy was upset....... I want to sleep!!

Krystie - if they're putting you on the pill you'll be doing a down regulation cycle - sounds like Nay did an antagonist cycle (the second needle each day stops you from ovulating until they want you to) - with a down reg cycle, they put you on the pill to get your hormones flat lined. give you are going through PGD, you may go on it for longer than the normal time frame, as they manipulate AF to fit you in with the clinic. from what i know of melb PGD they can only do two patients through PGD at a time - this may have changed, but it's still a very small number - so they need you to be on a certain time frame so they may keep you on the pill for four or five weeks before taking you off for AF to arrive - could be sooner. generally before they take you off the pill, they will start you on either a nasal spray (synarel) twice daily, or a daily injection (lucrin) - these will complete the down reg and stop all natural hormone production. it basically puts you into drug induced menopause! (so warn DH - you can get a little ummmmm moody with these ones!) - these will continue once you start on the stimulating drugs. given you have no fertility issues as such, you will probably be on a low level of hormones so as to avoid overstimulation. you'll be closely monitored like Nay said - be prepared, BT's and dildocam become a regular part of life! lol.

when you get to the right sized follicles, you'll stop the down reg drugs and have a trigger shot to make you ovulate. about 36-48 hours later you'll go for egg pick up - for me, this was done under twilight sedation so i was unconscious. given this is your first cycle (and hopefully your only one!) they will take it very gently with the stim drugs so as not to cause you any dramas

once your eggs are fertilised, they'll take you to day 2 or three before the PGD happens - there will only be two or three cells in each embie at this point so they're tiny! they will take one cell and amplify the genetic material in that one cell to check for the genetic anomaly you mentioned. you probably know this but i figure the other ladies may not! lol

if the anomaly shows up, that embryo won't be transferred. you may end up with large number of eggs/embies but many discarded. they will also only transfer the ones without the anomaly that are considered to be of the right quality.

not sure about what you've been told, but generally they ask that you have a CVS or amnio to again check the genetics. given it is all based on a single cell when testing, it's not 100% guaranteed to be accurate.

hope that helps on that front!!


on the rest of your post - i soooooooooo feel for you on the unsettled baby. two nights ago E had a meltdown - screaming so bad and so distressed. took ages to settle her. last night, she was fine until we went to bed - and then she lost the plot again. she was so distressed. nothing was helping. we gave her panadol (no nurofen at night for our poppet - it makes her hyper and ruins her sleep!), numbed her gums, offered boob and cuddles. ended up laying beside her in bed, snuggled up, singing round and round the garden (it worked the night before cos i'd taught it to her during the day! lol) - eventually worked. she cried again briefly when daddy moved her to bed, but it wasn't the distressed cry, it was more a cry of grrrr daddy, i was comfy!. she woke a couple of times through the night, but booby was enough to resettle her

i fessed up to DH about my face being sore. i don't know if it's tooth related - just keeping an eye on it. last time, if i pressed on my gums, i was in agony - this time i can't feel anything in there - more just under my nose it's kinda like a lump. could be a blind pimple or something - will see how i go. am not going to ride it out if it gets bad though - i'll work out a way to get to the dentist if it gets more ouchy! i promise!! Bella is too scary to ignore lol

today, while e is content playing, i'm going to make a photo book for DH and I - won't be able to get it printed for a while, and probably won't get it all journalled and stuff, but i want to play with our wedding pics - we've been married four years today! yay us!

Yep - that's it - I forgot what it was called. LMAO @ dildo cam!! Oh yeah, the BTs, I was a pin cushion by the end of it all ...... all worth it though. We were on a low level of hormones too, but we only had 4 follicles (one of my ovaries decided not to come to the party that month), one was empty (no egg), one was not suitable to fertilise, and of the 2 that were fertilised, only one successfully became an embryo so we had our emby trf on Day 2 - and this one lonly little embryo turned into Bailey :D, so don't fret if you only have a small number of follicles, eggs or embryo's - it's all about quality, not quantity, and you don't want to end up overstimulated and sick, also they need to see how your body reacts to all these hormones...... (ETA - obviously the PGD then puts a totally different spin on things but I guess you guys are definately after some premium quality emby's - so fingers crossed xx)

We have another tooth - number 5 - that one snuck up on me (second one on top left) - is through the gum just noticed it! What does everyone do about teeth cleaning?

CJ was up at 2:15 and took me a couple of hours to get her back to sleep - kept pulling at her ear, I was puzzled because I thought tooth 4 was through so shouldn't have been teething but now see was probably tooth 5. Am shattered though today (although compared to some of you guys is extremely minor sleep deprivation), IL's back this arvo so we are back sharing a room with CJ tonight for a week or so.

we just bought miss e a toothbrush and tonight we start cleaning her teeth. i'm guessing if we do it gently first, then let her have a bit of a go at it to get her used to it. she is little miss independent so will want to do it herself!

well, it's official - i start work again April 20. yay me! work need me to go in and sign a part time contract. will be doing general enquiries (boring!) but i'll be ok with it. can't expect to go back to what i was doing given it is rather specialised and i'm only going back two days a week for now

and can i say - i love my Mum! she wants her carpets shampoo'd so i told her i'd do it - she has paid in advance so i could get something i wanted for E for her birthday. she is getting the most gorgeous little pettiskirt! her big cousins are getting one each from mum's sister for Easter/birthday (e's present from the sis is already sorted) - they had a huuuuuuge reduction in cost for them so i had to get it! doin a happy dance! now i just need to go and shampoo her carpets lol

ooh, i meant to say - Vic - i hope E's teeth come through quickly and close together like that - the poor poppet is NOT happy with this teething gig!

Vic - We bought a little baby toothbrush from Woolies a few weeks ago, although a facewasher will do for now (only 2 teeth still), I introduced it more to start the whole bath/brushing teeth routine. I gently brush his two teeth then give him the brush to do the same, Bailey thinks its pretty fun - here are some toothbrushing pics!

Hey Girls

I had a crappy sleep last night...Cara was miserable. Gave her panadol about midnight, she woke up about 7 times!! (no joke!) Sometimes my back is sore from swapping sides of the bed to feed her! She has two top middle teeth just bulging under the gums ready to break through. She usually sleeps well from 9pm-7.30am, just wakes up, breastfeed. straight back to sleep. But not last night. Nasty teeth..I am sure we will all be happy when they have a break from teething for a lil while. Cara has had 4 teeth now (almost) within a month almost! Can't blame the girl for being fed up. She got the other 2 bottom teeth around 6mths.

I set up the wiggles playpen today. I've never had a fancy playpen before..usually just a wooden one..but I gave it away ages ago. It's a nice colourful one with things on the side panel for them to play with (mirror, phone, dial etc). She isn't crawling yet, but she can get herself around on her tummy VERY well. She can cover a lot of ground. This morning it almost looked like she was crawling!! Not far away. She's up on all 4s a lot and trying to pull up. She's so heavy though, she doesn't stand for long hehe. I just thought I'd get the playpen out for the times I can't watch her....doing certain housework etc. She pulled the playstation down the other day. I am sure in time she'll see it as a prison. But I don't want to stick her in there too often.

Cara seems much worse with these teeth than the other 4. She has been biting me on the boob HEAPS in the last 24 hours. I yell "OWWWWWWWWWWWW" (can't help it, it hurts), and she comes off and looks at me. She knows it is wrong. Occasionally she will cry if she knows she's hurt me. And then goes back on the boob and is fine.

All you teething Mums! Hang in there!! It will get better! hehe

To all you Mums that are going back to work/have gone back to work...all the best!! I've never done it before (work and be a Mum). Give yourselves a pat on the back and make hubby spoil you sometimes (and I hope he does his share of the chores too). Doing two very important jobs is HARD WORK! You ladies are the true wonder women! SuperMums!

Kyrstie we did the antagonist cycle like Nay oh the good old days of being a human pin cushion....BUT SOOOO WORTH IT!!

Seems like all us mums are being woken up around the clock...Aaron is the same waking up every 2.5 to 4 hours :wall: Not too sure if it's a growth spurt or teeth...He has his top two and bottom two and has for a while so have no idea.
Also very Velcro baby.... Me and my shadow are like two peas in a pod!!

Here is hoping for a good night sleep for all of us :pray:

BG - meant to mention before and forgot - 2 days is a nice way to settle in - hilariously April 20th was my first day of maternity leave last year LOL. Hope it all goes well, will pass on any 'return to work' hints I come across... :)

Cathy - thanks for the vote of confidence re being a working Mum, but I reckon having 4 kids gives your supermum status too babe ;)

Nic - I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat, it is definately soooooo worth it :)

Cathy - I just leave Kyson's teething necklace on overnight. I usually only take it off while he's eating (don't want food crusty's in between beads, lol), and for water activities like the bath, pool, shower etc.
Isn't it so cute when the bub's start learning new tricks? Lol. Kyson has got "gimme 5" down pat. He also sometimes waves bye bye. It's funny when I want him to wave hello to someone and instead I have to say bye bye to him to get him to wave hehe.

Nay - I've given Kyson a smidge of vegemite before. I put it on a little sandwich because I wasn't sure what else I could put on a sandwich for him. I kept it very light though.

Jacinta - Nice hcg level! That IS what the number on fb was yeah? ;)

Amy - Hopefully by the time I get worried about changing seats for Kyson you'll have it all worked out and I'll just be able to ask you! ;) My problem at the moment is that DH's car has leather seats and I hate how much Kyson's seat moves on them. He's still rear facing and the front of the seat (where his head is) seems to moves from side to side a bit when the car is going around corners. DH says it's normal, but I still don't like it. My car is so small that his seat touches both front seats. That's not meant to be the best thing, but I figure if I'm in a car accident that's bad enough for the front seats to push back and affect his seat, then then a cm or two between his seat and the front seats isn't really going to make a whole balogne sandwich worth of difference...
PS. I've seen one of Bella's wraps in person and it was gorgeous. I love how she coordinates her wrap with her outfit! :rofl:

Vic - What a naughty little monkey Cerys is when you are telling her off, hehe. Sometimes when I growl "too rough" at Kyson he smiles at me too and gosh it's so hard not to laugh or smile at them!
What a sneaky tooth number 5. Hopefully now that it's here you'll get a better nights sleep tonight.

Bella - What a nice little sleep-in you got this morning. Hopefully her single waking through the night is a new trend. It's much better than the 4 times a night!

Nicole - I completely agree with Bella. If the doc's were concerned then I'm sure they would have gotten you to come in earlier.

Bridg - Fantastic news about the hips! Does that mean he's gotten the all clear?

BG and Nay - Firstly, LMAO @ dildocam! Classic! I felt a little embarassed when DH went for his sperm analysis, and then realised that surely it's much worse for us girls that actually have objects inserted INSIDE us! LOL!

As for whether my cycle will be the down-cycle or antagonist one (thanks for the terminology!), I actually have no idea to be honest. It was mostly spoken about at the compulsory counciling session which was like a group info session where they really generalised what a typical cycle might consist of. Then our PGD session yesterday was more about the actual science of how they were going to test the embies (exactly how you explained it BG!), rather than what my cycle would entail. I guess I'll find out the particulars next wednesday :)

My assumption is that we're not going to use ICSI (pending DH's swimmer analysis results, but considering they've worked 3 times before...), and the good news about my ovaries is that my baseline pelvic ultrasound showed at least 20 folicles in each ovary. Apparently that is ideal for a stimulated cycle (yay ovaries!). Oh, here's a fun fact! Before having Kyson I had a retroverted uterus (the top sloped in the wrong direction), but apparently now it's in the normal position, lol!

We started going through Melb IVF, but weren't too keen on the geneticist. So our specialist told us that we might want to start a-fresh with Monash IVF (as they are totally seperate and don't have anything to do with each other), and we've been really happy with everyone we've dealt with at Monash so far. I almost laughed when the Monash genetecist just happened to mention a study he had done with the Melbourne genetecist. We just smiled and nodded ;)

At Monash IVF they wait until day 3 for cell collection and the embie has to have at least 5 cells. We've been told to expect that not all eggs will fertilise, then that some won't be suitable to test, and then that at least 50% won't be suitable for transfer. Fingers crossed my ovaries decide to churn out quite a few eggs to up the chances! At least our chance of the embie that's transferred (assuming we have one) sticking as apparently quite good.

Gosh, I'm really taking over this thread with all this! Hopefully the mods won't smac me for being off-topic...

BG - Also just wanted to say that I think you are pretty special. You always have so much time to give to others when it comes to advice, help and support. Not just for me, and not just in this thread, but I've seen how much you help others with centrelink info as well! You should be proud of yourself because you really help others!

Cathy (again :) ) - Oh please tell me that they DO get a break from teething at some point. I don't know how me (or Kyson) will hope if this goes on much longer. And he hasn't even got ANY yet! I know the exact playpen you are talking about. I saw one on ebay just before while I was looking at playpens. It looks really cute. I know what you mean about them moving so quickly too. I put Kyson at one of his toys on the other side of the lounge room, put two things in the dishwasher and turned around just as Kyson jammed his fingers in a kitchen draw. Who knows how he got behind me so fast! Lucky it was pretty softly, but he still cried. I'll have to get all the safety latches now though!


Ok, phew, that's surely got to be a big enough post for now, lol. And it's only taken me about 5 hours to write!

I just looked at Yasmin's old baby book and diary I wrote about her...and it said she got her first tooth at 11mths! All my other babies started to get teeth at 5/6 months though.

Cara seems to like the playpen...the kids have been jumping in there with her. Every night we do 'crawling training' (LOL) up and down the hallway with her....the kids crawl and she laughs hysterically! I almost thought she was going to crawl this morning..but after a couple of steps, she fell on her belly hehe.

All my kids has a smear of vegemite on their toast. I don't think it hurts. Has some good stuff in it like folic acid, which is good for them. I tried her with some tuna tonight..she loved it!

You girls talking about your periods....I still haven't got mine back. (was the same with Laura...I did not get it back til I stopped breastfeeding..at 19mths). I think this is due to the fact that Laura and now Cara don't sleep through the night. I am sure dropping that night feed would encourage your period back. So in a way, I don't mind the sleepless nights..no periods LOL. I got my period back at 6mths with Yassie (and I think Ronan) cause they slept through from that age. Krystie: YES...there is a time when the teething takes a break...I always think the early first 4-6 teeth seem the worst (maybe cause they seem to come with such furious pace in succession). I am sure we'll wait at least a couple of months for the rest. Well I hope...I would have to check my baby books to be sure though..

Hahaha Krystie...I shouldn't hope to have an accident but I do. I am not on any contraception we r just using condoms. I had a dream last night that I saw a rip in DH's condom and I didn't tell him:) However that being said I have never fallen pregnant before the first time we tried in all my years of being sexually active ( and I have been very active at times LOL!) so I very much doubt that I would get preggers now without deciding to and I suspect my DH knows I would just love to get knocked up again now and so he has no problems looking after the contraception:)

Bella: Funny the dreams you have! I had a couple of contraception dreams a while ago - they really freaked me out until I woke up properly, LOL! Sorry you had to pay for your good sleep. Cathy: My period is still MIA too. I agree, I think mine will come back when I stop feeding overnight. It was the same with Natty - she started sleeping through at around 8/9 months and that's about when AF returned for me. I am happy for it to stay away. Plus, now that I have been back at work, I am very keen to keep up these lovely early-morning feeds. This morning I just stared at my baby for ages once she'd gone back to sleep after her feed. She makes these glorious noises when she's getting full - like, 'Oooooooh, my tummy's full... but... can maybe fit a bit more...' LOL! She's so beautiful and I just adore those snuggles. But we have been pretty lucky in this house of late with sleeping as she is waking only once or twice a night atm.
I think I need a playpen too. I have put gates up at the stairs because Phoebe's technique is pretty similar to Cara's and she is getting faster. She is slowly transitioning to hands and knees.
Krystie: We have leather seats in one of the cars too and IKWYM about the movement. Now our seats have big marks and dents on them too from the seats, so they don't move as much... but that's not such a good thing for the car! (Don't tell your DH ;) ) I think you will put 2 and 2 together when it comes time for Kyson to change seats. From what I figure, as long as you follow manufacturers instructions for your chosen seat then you are obeying the law. Keep Kyson in a booster until he's too big for it or until he's 6/7 years old. Voila!
I am very interested in hearing about the IVF, so I hope we don't get in trouble from our mods. It's not something I'd venture into the AC threads to read up on... I can barely keep up with the threads that are relevant to my life and experiences! I hope you don't have too long to wait and that your first round is a great success :)
Oh, and on the teething - yes it gets better and you quickly forget how hard the teething was to get through. I remember when Natty was about 20-ish months and we were at the shops and she chucked this MASSIVE tantrum. I was so confused as to why she was so fussy for no reason and guessed it was just a toddler-ism. But then I looked inside her (open - screaming) mouth and saw two molars coming through! I had forgotten she still didn't have all her teeth. I had thought all that was behind us. How quickly we forget, LOL.
Nic: Sorry to hear Aaron's been unsettled. Phoebe hasn't been waking more than usual, but she has been very sad at times through the day. I figured it was because of my return to work and that she's adjusting to it (and maybe feeling a little bit abandoned :( ) but maybe it is a developmental thing too. I love the reassurance of knowing the other bubs in here (who still have their mummies with them) are going through something similar.
Nay: The work clothes are a bit of an issue for me too - I have about three tops and two pairs of pants that are still comfortable, LOL! I told a friend of mine that I need to go shopping and she said, "You're only working three days - three tops is enough!" LOL! I have my 'Tuesday top' my 'Thursday top' and my 'Friday top' PMSL.
Enjoy your pre-work Bailey-days coming up. I am making the very most of my time with the girls atm, and I have found that since going back to work I am much more patient with Natty and we enjoy each other more.
LOL @ the junk mail thing... are you a 'junk'ie as well?!? I love junk mail and we get heaps of it here. I cut out pictures of things from the catalogues for Natty to do collages. So they really come in handy (esp the Toys R Us ones) :)

Vic: Sorry for the early-morning-escapades you've been experiencing. Phoebe still only has two teeth but we've been brushing them since they came through. Just a soft brush with no paste. Like Nay said, a washer will do, but I personally find a toothbrush much easier to get to the right place in their mouth. (Phoebe loves sucking washers and thinks its a big game when I try to wipe her face and hands, so you can imagine the fun she has when I try to stick it in her mouth :rolleyes:) She is very good with the brush - just opens her mouth and lets me brush. I also brush her gums and tongue when I feel like it, just for her to get used to keeping her mouth open for me.

As I mentioned to Nicole, I am kind of glad to hear that Phoebe isn't the only one who's been a bit unsettled lately. I thought it was because she was mixed up with not having me around, and I dare say that's part of it, but I'm hoping that at least some of her sadness is just a developmental phase. She hasn't been sleeping well in the day when I'm not there, so that doesn't help either.
Today is her first day at CC and I am feeling very sad about it. Silly, and I should just get over it. I am really enjoying my job and like I said, I am finding it easier to stay patient with the big one and even enjoy waking up to the little one so it's really doing wonders for my temperament. I just know it's a big step and the idea's taking some getting used to.
My bestie is due to have her baby in a couple of weeks. I can't believe how quickly that has gone (not that I said as much to her, LOL!) but I remember when she told me she was 8 weeks preggers. Phoebe was 8 weeks old! It feels like ages ago, but only yesterday. Babies make time go all funny.

Very tired tonight - and feeling a bit MEH! AF has come back for me before Christmas (still feeding overnight - so maybe it's a side effect of PCOS) - had seven week "cycle" which i can cope with - followed by another bleed starting yesterday - 18days after the last one started. i always have weird AF's (longer than most normal people - the joys of abnormality!) - so i've only had a week of not bleeding! not happy! at least the pain in my face has subsided, with no pimple - so buggered if i know what's going on!

BBL - sounds like bub has crashed so DH and I can organise some dinner - shopping after he knocks of work is hard work!

Oo, you girls are sneaky. I don't know which one of you did it (and I'm not going to try to work it out either - I just am tickled pink and am going to leave it there. Plus, my brain hurts tonight.) but thank you. xx
Naomi, re my RAK. Honey, you have no idea. LOL! I've a gorgeous RAK - my avvi doesn't do it justice. Thing is, my RAK is now decidedly lopsided - that's what makes it so spesh. PMSL! You know very well that my RAK is nowhere near as impressive as that avvi's. I think I'd have chronic back problems if I had that teensy body and those huge jugs.

I didn't think my AF would come back until I stopped breastfeeding, but despite still feeding 3 hourly (even overnight) I'm about to have my 4th AF since having Kyson. I used to be spot on 29-30 days but so far it's been 46, 45, 26, and this month will be 24! Although next month I am happy to have a super short cycle ;)

Amy, I was thinking that next time you have your avi changed you are going to have to let them know that the big boobs are essential, lol! I can't imagine your avi without the RAK!

K - make sure you are clear with the FS that you're still BF - my understanding is that the drugs used are not to be used while BF...

ok officially at end of tether!! J went down to sleep at 6.30 awoke at 7 and then wont go back to sleep. we let her get up for awhile and she did another green watery poo so we gave her pain killers in case is is an unpset tummy cos this is the second night in a row it has been this way and she still wont go back to sleep. I get her all the way into the cot and then she wakes up!!!!! aarrgghhh!!! I don't know if it is her teeth her tummy or her bum cos that has a teething rash on it or what it is but I am soo over it. DH just dropped the bomb shell about 20mins ago that he doesn't want to do his exam this year. Say goodbye to my 2011 baby:(

Bella - I swear I could have written your post! Well, the sleeping part, not the exam part. Kyson has been refusing to let me put him down for naps so I have to hold him for the whole nap. The house has been a disaster zone because no nap in cot means bye-bye to cleaning time. Then in the evenings he's r woken 10-15 minutes after going to bed then wanting to either get up and play, or just being totally upset and unsettled until about 11pm when we go to bed. Tonight has thankfully been ok though. Only one proper resettle so far...

Sorry to hear that your DH doesn't want to sit his exam this year. Maybe you should tell him that if he's not sitting his exam then you might as well start ttc'ing now ;)

BG - I have a huge list of questions about BFing for the FS. I asked him generally about it at our first appointment and he told me not to rush into weaning Kyson if I didn't want to. But I think that was just in case it took a while to get the ball rolling. Here's some of my questions for him:
~ If I have to stop BFing DS because the drugs are bad for him, then can I express and discard while on the drugs, then try to restart BFing him?
~ If I have to stop BFing DS because the act of BFing reduces the chances of the IVF cycle being a success, then to what extent does it effect things?
~ If I do have to stop BFing, once I'm pregnant can I take maxolon to try to re-establish BFing?
Unfortunately starting the IVF journey may inevitably mean I have to wean Kyson, which I'm sad about, but the good news is that I have about 8-9 litres of frozen breastmilk that will at least keep him breastmilk fed for a bit longer. I really would love to tandem feed though...

oh Bella hun - i'm hoping you get some rest and things settle for you overnight so that tomorrow seems better
i'm not sure exactly what the exam entails, but maybe you can talk to DH tomorrow when emotions aren't running so high with your worry about J

K - those look like reasonable questions - i'd say it would only be for the period you're completely down reg'd (so from the start of the sniffing/jabbing) until EPU - perhaps you could pump and dump (even if it's just twice a day to keep supply, and then rebuild it once you are pg or whatever) - great that you can ask and make sure you get clear answers. the last thing you want to be doing is finding out at the last minute that you have to wean! hope you can keep it going hun

Bella - Big hugs. It could be a mix of teething and a bit of a bug. Allira's been a bit funny lately, but I'm lucky that most of the time, she'll sleep for a few hours. I don't know what else you could do? She probably moves too much for the bouncer now hey...
Do you co sleep? When all else fails, the kids end up in our bed.
I really do remember how bad Lachie was at this age with his complete lack of sleep so I can sympathise.

Amy - So soooo true, I should so quote you in my title next to my Avi (heck I will! PMSL), I was just thinking that of my maternity leave, I can't beleive its almost over - Wowsers!! I was going to say "Don't feel sad about Phoebe's CC" but then realised its a bit stoooopid to tell you how to feel :rolleyes: I hope it gets easier and you make peace with it babe :hug: I'm so happy for you that you are finding more patience with Natty and enjoying your time with your girls, you sound happy and settled in your new job. I totally know what you mean re patience with your child though.... A few times this week when I have been getting frustrated and growly at Bailey for buggering around instead of napping I have reminded myself that time is precious and patience is a virtue LOL! And yes, I love sitting down with a pile of junk mail, a coffee and dream about what I''ll buy.... Hoping you get some rest and wake in the morning feeling better. Re the co-sleeping, we are doing it more and more as Bailey gets older. He has such unbroken sleep in our bed (as do we), and frankly we love having him with us. He sleeps in his cot from bedtime until we go to bed, then we have gotten him into the habit of popping him in with us, having a King bed certainly helps. I think its also a bit to do with me getting a bit clingy to him regarding returning to work soon, I'm happy for him so sleep with me, it just seems like the right thing to do currently. I swore I'd never co-sleep before I become a Mum and thought that the marital bed was sacred - HAHAHAHA like we ever have the energy to 'use' the marital bed like we did pre-Bailey ... PMSL

Bella - Oh Sweetie, I can only imagine how heartbroken you must be feeling, I wish I could give you a big hug. Hopefully somehow the exam happens and J becomes a big sister next year, take care babe :hug:

Vic - I was wondering - Does CJ still sleep on her back now that she is brace free? Does she tend to sleep in the same position as when she had her brace? Bailey rarely moves in his sleep, I know the mostly the brace prevents him, but other than turning his head from side to side he is pretty much in the same position as when I put him to bed....at least I know he is not going to jump out the cot :)

I might go work on Bailey's current photobook, I must bring them to our meet up to show you all
