Sleeping - Hmmmm Elijah has gone back to having a feed during the night. He woke at 2.30am. Then at 6.50am. I hope it doesn't continue....not that I am complaining, but he was sleeping thru.

Traylee - Thats awesome that Scarlet is sleeping so well! Hope it continues for you!

Cooper is not well today, he has a temp and not eating and just lying on the lounge watching his shows (abc 2). We changed rooms around yesterday, so he is now in with Jhye (8) and Kyle (12) got his own room. Cooper had the single room up until then, so I thought he was having trouble sleeping in a new bed and new room, but I think it was because he is sick. He was talking alot in his sleep last night too. He refuses to drink panadol, he never has liked it tho. Always spits it out, and medicine too...so unless he is really bad there isn't alot I can do....

We will be putting E into the same room as the other 2, I haven't set up his cot yet, as it was given to us, and it is missing some bolts, but a quick trip to Bunnings Warehouse will fix that, I just have to know which bolts to get...lol. Cooper keeps asking when E will be going in there with them, but I won't be doing that until E is sleeping thru again properly. The room is huge enough for 3 of them. And teenage boys need their privacy...lol

Hello everyone! I know it has been ages since I got on...I just never seem to find the time or when I do the internet doesnt want to play! I am saving this in word just in case lol

Lice - I used to get them at school and had waist length hair - its a nightmare and while kero isnt meant to be used it really does work! My neice uses it on her kids and just makes sure she washes the hair enough that you cant smell it

Computer - poor Tiff - no computer that would suck, its bad enough having a computer that keeps cutting out...thank god for facebook on mobile lol

Hives - I havent ever had hives but wow...id be changing my shower gel lol

Sleeping - Zen has just started sleeping through the night..it kills my boobs but my brain is appreciating it

Weight/Height - I'm not sure what Zen is now, at 7wks he was 59cm and 4.8kg

Reflux - I dont know any cures but if someone finds it they will be millionaires!

AF - hasnt come back yet and Im praying it doesnt for a while longer, not looking forward to it, forgotten what a pain it can be

Toddlers - how you women with toddlers raise a baby astounds me - you are supermums! sometimes I feel overwhelmed with one and he is such a good baby

feeding - Zen feeds every 3-4hrs during the day...starting to call to me for one now!

Checking bub while sleeping - if I am in house cleaning etc I am ok and during night I listen for a mintue or two and generally hear him make snuffling noises etc otherwise I am up and checking on him

routine - Zen kinda just goes with the flow although I do try and keep his feed times the same...so far so good!

Gotta go...he is workinghis lungs lol

    take care yummy mummies

    hi all
I was just wondering how everyone's going with daytime sleeps. I noticed lots of people commenting on cat-napping. Do you try to resettle? If so, how successful is the resettle? Do you notice a difference in the sleep length depending on how long bubs has been awake? How much total sleep are bubs getting during the day? I'm trying to figure out what I can do to promote more than a cat-nap, but I'm at a loss at the moment. E has only had a couple of longer naps in he last few weeks and they haven't involved any resettling, but I can't seem to resettle her if she wakes up after 1 sleep cycle, despite my best efforts incorporating all the tricks we learnt from sleep school with DD1. Insight would be great.

The only way I can get Elijah to sleep for longer than 20 minutes is to lie down with him. I did it yesterday and today. I think I got 2 hours yesterday with him. Even at night he isn't sleeping the best at the moment. I really hope it's a growth spurt.

so how often does he have 20 min sleeps during the day? What do you do with him if he wakes up ages before a feed? I'm trying desperately to do feed, play, sleep but E will often wake ages before her feed is due (and she's not hungry) but then falls asleep feeding a bit later because she's already been awake for so long! The only way I can get her to sleep longer than one sleep cycle at the moment is in the hugabub, which is fine if we need to go shopping or something but not practical for every nap with DD1 needing my attention.

There she goes, bang on the half hour! Time to play the resettling game, unsuccessfully for the next hour. I don't know what to do

cat napping i dont mine it as it means more sleep nights i think, i let her cat nap when ever she wants as nurse told me thats what they r meant to do
which is weird cause hayley use to sleep 2hrs a day straight till she was like 2 or more,
but i spose cat napping is same just not in one hit, doesnt bother me i mean it makes it hard when i have things to do if she isnt sleeping and wont be happy unless she has all my attention, but meh i happy with long sleeps, i let her sleep in her bouncer out in lounge, but at 4.30ish i bath her then play for like 15mins or so then bottle then put her in bed, then she sleeps threw. thats the only time she gets put in her cot.
i think sometimes if i put her in cot during day she may sleep longer, but i dont want her sleeping longer as i like her sleeping nights, plus i want her to get use to sleeping anywhere anytime,

same as when i put her in her cot i let her cry sometimes, like not cry cry scream lol, just u no the attention ones and when u go in they smile at u lol not those ones.
i no when its tired ones to cause she does it with her eyes shut so i no she tired and she stops within about 5 mins if she keeps going and it gets worse i go shsshssh her and pat tummy, but if she gets really bad i pick her up and if she still not happy i bring out to lounge but i havent had to do that in weeks.

Pmccask - generally when E wakes up it's for a feed. After the feed he stays awake for a while, I either lie him on the floor in front of the Telly or put him in his bouncer chair. He gets attention and likes to see whats gong on. He usually has a longer sleep after lunch time. Round about 12ish for an hour or do. If he sleeps for about 20 mins I offer him boob and he might have some for 5 mins then I'll burp him and change bum if needed. I don't bother trying to resettle, as it doesn't work. I think he just wants to be out with us. He likes being on the floor or in his fair but not sleeping there.

I have also noticed at bath time he doesn't like lying down either. He is quiet straight away when I sit him up. Is this happening with any other bubs?

    Hi ladies!!!

My BIL came up on the w/e to fix my computer (as our new one was meant to arrive last week and still isn't here!), turned it on and now it's fine!!! I expected it to die again the moment he left, but it's still going strong!

H is great today, but yesterday was having a very off day! I couldn't put her down, she didn't feed properly all day and wouldn't go down last night so ended up sleeping with us. I have no idea what was going on, but today she didn' wake until 10am then went back down at 11. She is back to sleeping well and hopfully will be back in her bed tonight.

    I'm steeling Tina's headings!!

Height/Weight - H was weighed on Mon at the Drs and was 5.7kg, fully clothed with a cloth nappy, so I thought she'd be about 5.5 - 5.6 bare weight, as for length, I have no idea... About that much!!! She's certainly on a good paddock, chubby bubby!

Reflux - I'm sorry neither of my girls had it, I have no idea what helps. I hope your little people get over it soon, a GF's babe had it and it was horrible to see her get so upset.

AF - Hasn't come back yet, but 6 months the first time so hoping for the same or more this time!

Checking on sleeping baby - During the day I'm not too bad as she never sleeps for a huge amount of time, but at night I do check on her if I haven't heard a murmer on the monitor for a while. I love to watch her sleep! I did a lot of checks this morning cuz she slept in so late!!! lol

Feeding - H goes anywhere from 2 - 5 hours during the day, we're still demand breast feeding.

Routine - H is easy, she just fits in with us and with a toddler, every day is different... Between swimming, kindermusic, day care and just needing to get out of the house, H doesn't have a lot of choice but to be cruisy. Also when the park is busy I have to jump into the office so she just sits in her bouncer watching me or if she's sad then she rides around in the sling!

Ok GTG, H wants booby and T wants juice!!!

BLB... As long as the computer doesn't decide to die again!!!

Hi Tiff! Good to see you again and that you are all doing so well!

pmccask - We don't have great daytime sleeps either. I try not to watch the clock but when she seems tired I put her down. P will get grizzly and yawn, may even rub her eyes. She will also want her dummy - if she is feeding she will yell until I stop trying to feed her and put the dummy in. She will vary in nap length, anywhere from 1/2 hour to a couple of hours. Generally though she catnaps and I only get one longer sleep a day. Lately she has been in bed for the night between 7-8.30 and will sleep to between 3-4am so I am just trying to go with her. If she seems tired when she wakes I try and resettle. Maybe if you know when E will wake go in a couple of minutes before that and pat her bottom or rub her belly in an effort to get her to sleep through to the next sleep cycle? Or try white noise in the room?

Sleepy - I hope it is just a growth spurt and all of your boys sleep well for you again! Hopefully Cooper is better for you tomorrow!

We had the chiropractor today, it seems Miss Phoebe does have some misalignment so we will work with her and see if we can help. She has four appts this week and hopefully we will see an improvement. Otherwise at least I tried! I won a bumbo seat on Ebay for her. So excited! Hopefully she will be happier sitting up and being able to see everything.

Well I am off to try and get some sleep. Very tired tonight!

Morning all been a very long one for me been up since 3am.
I havent read back yet will try to later we have had this terrible wog thing through the house oldest DD had it last weekend and then Friday night DS had it and then Sunday night Middle DD 19mths had it and then this morning DP has it i have been lucky enough to miss it for now but i am sure i will get it at some point(fingers crossed i dont) so i have spent all weekend cleaning up vomit washing sheets trying to get them dry and so on. May seems to be ok but is abit restless so hope she dosent get it has been abit more spewy but not sure if that is just the reflux. Oh i hate seeing all the kids sick like that and i am so tired i havent had hardly any sleep all weekend.
May has been sleeping right through but woke at 3am and wouldnt settle so have been up with her inbetween trying to help look after my DP I am not sure why she always goes back to the 3-4am waking after sleeping through from 10pm-8pm hopefully she will go back to sleeping through again normally i put the dummy in and she will settle back but i think this mornings waking was due to her having got her hand out some how and kept pulling the dummy out.

Reflux - i am not sure whether the zantac is working so great she seemed alot better but last few days been bad again but i am not sure whether it is something to do with this wog thing either so will give it more time and see what happens.

Anyway i havent got alot planned today i am just praying i dont start throwing up everywhere better get dressed and try get motivated i guess
    takecare will try BBL
    to catch up abit

Morning everyone - quick one from me today.........DH is home tonight YAY, it looked like he was going to be delayed a couple of days but just found out he's coming home tonight BUT have I got some housework cut out for me lol, since I've been packing I've got ***p from front door to back door and thinking I had a couple of extra days up my sleeve wasn't too fussed about place being livable lol.

Naps - I've been trying to get A to realise she does need some form of sleep during the day, I started trying the 2 hour awake time when I am home and it seems to work for her but she never sleeps more than about 45mins and I just get her up and start the feed/play or play/feed process etc again as I really can't be hassled with the carry on she puts on when she doesn't want to sleep. Past couple of days I've been running around and she sleeps in car/pram or wherever she is. I'm not being too strict on nap times as I really don't it to effect her night sleeps.

Tiff - Hello, great to hear from you and that both your girls are doing so well. Hope your new comp shows up soon

Caplay - oh you poor thing with a whole family sick with the vomits, hoping you & M miss getting it and the rest of the family are better soon.

Sleepy - How did E go last night with his sleep, hopefully he settles back down for you? How cute that C can't wait to share the room with E.

Marni - Hope the chiro works for P, I've heard it can help.

Hi tina, jleigh, superstar, BW, Socks and everyone else.

Not much to report here A is doing well this week, I'm putting her grumpiness last week down to a wonder week. I've survived another fornight on my own I'll be living with my mum next time DH goes back to work so at least will have some help in the evenings to give me some downtime, so will make the most of the next 6-8 months.

Stillhere, just not getting much time to read or post.

Sleeping/Naps - B seems to have changed from 4 x 40 min cat naps a day to 1 x 40 min and 1 x 1.5-2.5hr nap. Occasionally he'll do a second 40 min nap and if we go out and his routine is missed, he'll not have the longer sleep. It hasn't affected his night sleeps at all (I read a study that proved that the more sleep babies had during the day, the longer they tended to sleep for at night! Hmmm, something to think about anyway...). On the downside, we've been having a bit of trouble getting to sleep and had a few times where I spent up to 1.5hours settling and resettling. I tend to give up after about 1/2 hour or so now and we have cuddles on the lounge then go in the bouncer.

Height/wieght - B was 5.3kg clothed this morning, not sure of his weight. He's graduated into 000 tops but mostly still 0000 bottoms and singlets. Onesies are 000 too.

caplay - Sorry to hear your LO's have a wog. Hope it goes quickly.

AF - Not here yet thank goodness. It can stay away too, thanks very much.

Marni - Hope P's adjustments work.

AFM - B has laughed, a proper long giggle, twice now! Sooooooo cute! Still no sign of rolling though as tummy time is still not on his list of fave things. We've been trying it on the table and he's better as he prefers to be higher up, or I distract him with a massage. I can get up to 3 mins if I'm lucky. He was very clingy and quite demanding last week, not just with naps, so am putting that down to a wonder week. Yesterday and today he seems to have some pretty decent wind pain too. All just part of having a normal bub though!

    Hi to everyone.

    Hi all

Well i wasnt so lucky and the dreaded wog thing hit me yesterday afternoon boy i have never been so sick in my life it was terrible spewing and pooing for 6 hrs straight feeling alot better today though thank goodness Mum came over yesterday and helped look after the kids and picked the others up from school and all that (what would i do with out her)
May hasnt got it yet but i wont be suprised if she does it is very contagious i am not sure what i am going to do if she gets it? i am just praying she dosent.

i tryed to do some quick grocery shopping today but was a total nightmare with DD toddler and May they just didnt wanna co operate today i ended up forgetting half of the stuff and now will have to try complete it tommorrow or the next day.

Cradle cap does anyone know of anything that actually gets rid of it? Mays head is so dry and gross at the moment have tryed numerous things but it still keeps coming back

I hope everyone is well and sorry for the me post again.

Cap - I'm glad you are feeling better and really hope that May doesn't get it! A little bubba would end up dehydrated throwing up that much! Cradle cap, I have no idea - neither of my girls have had it. I hope that your week improves!

JLeigh - Yay for the giggles!!! I love the sound. We are getting laughs a little bit but she is chatting to us heaps!

Phoenix - Enjoy having hubby home! Yay for a break!

Had Phoebe's hospital appt today. She doesn't need surgery for her hernia!!! They will leave it in the hope that it will right itself but wont operate on it until she is 3-4 if it is still there! I am very happy that my little bubba does not need a GA!

Caplay - I don't think May will get it. When babies are breast fed they get antibodies from us when we are sick. So hopefully she won't get it. As for cradle cap - E has it too. It's getting better tho. We have been putting baby oil in his baths. Just a few drops. Or if he is showered I rub a bit into his hair. It seems to help.

Marni - Glad to hear P doesn't need an operation. That's great news!

We are going thru a strange sleeping pattern at the moment. E woke at 1.30am then at 6.30am. I hope it goes back to normal soon. He also isn't taking the left breast at the moment. Everytime I try to put him on there he whinges and turns away and refuses to take it. As soon as I put him on the other side he takes it with no problems. I just don't know what to do....is anyone else having any problems with feeding?

    A big hello to everyone!

Sleepy - Just today P has decided that she doesn't like my right breast! I have no idea, but just keep offering it and hoping she will take it.
