Pooley,

Thought this might help clarify the new rules for carseats.

This is QLD rules, and this information was found on Kidsafe Qld website - Kidsafe Queensland It may be different for other users in different states.

It states the NEW QLD guidelines effective March 2010 are as follows:

(this is taken from the brochure for child restraint usage valid March 2010 which can be found here http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/reso...s_brochure.pdf)

0 - 6 months
Less than 8kg
Rearward facing baby capsule or infant restraint

6 - 12 months
8 - 12 kgs
rearward or forward facing infant restraint

Safety Tips

*babies should change from rearward to forward facing restraint at approx 8 - 12kgs, this will vary depending on brand of restraint.

*check the manufacturers information and product guidelines on the child restraint to ensure correct usage.

So basically from 8 - 12kgs it's up to you if you want him forward or rearward facing. Frazer is your baby, it's your carseat, and the decision is YOURS.

Give Frazer a big kiss from Emily! xx
