-
That's such great news Mrs T, a huge CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!
And woohoo Ness & Helen on meeting each other tomorrow! Have fun girls :D I've been looking at your pics Ness and it looks like you're having a great time away.
-
Huge congratulations Mrs T - well done to you and DH ;)
Yay Ness on having a fantastic holiday and you get to meet our lovely Helen, woo hooo!!!
same same here, just had all the tiles ripped up in our family area and floorboards laid so it was chaos for a week....apart from that not much worthy of mentioning.
Rylee is being a pita at the moment when it comes to getting her to sleep, carries on a like porkchop, grr.....
Okay, better go, she is carrying on.

-
Awww yay Congrats Anna! Will be great to see you around here more!
Ness! I've always wanted to go to Tas, I'm glad you're having a wonderful time. :D And JEALOUS! I have always wanted to meet Helen!! One day, one day....
Riv had his first speech appt today, the speechie is cool. She's given us some things to do, so that's cool - he's brilliant at logical literal stuff but needs to be taught how to do imaginative play and play with stories. She said it comes easy for some kids and others really need some guidance. Feel a bit sucky I didn't realise it was something I needed to guide him better with. So we went to the shops and bought some tea sets and things for 'shopping' and stuff like that. Should be fun!
Anyway. Hope everyone's well. I have the worst cold ever (all of my colds are the worst ones ever ) and Rans is being very patient and caring even though I am the world's biggest sick sook. Maybe I get man colds?
ETA: Hi Laurin! Missed snapping you by 2 min. :D
-
Great to hear it went well today Nelle. I remember when I went to speech therapy, I still have the books at mum's place :D
Here are a couple of ideas which might help:
Puppets is a good one, a teddy bear picnic, going on a bear hunt (we set up the house as a bear hunt LOL), cowboys/indians, dress ups, using empty boxes to 'build' things like a plane, train etc and having the kids decorate with arts and crafts ... I find Play School come up with some really good ideas for imaginative play. Hope that helps :D
ETA:
missed your post too laurin LOL. Is it the day sleep or night sleep that's a PITA at the moment? Is it that she just doesn't want to go to sleep?
-
Congrats ANNA! Awesome news.
-
I remember someone was going to start trying for another bub in the new year (so now). Was it Vixstar or Boo Boo (can't see your sig Laurin) ??? Or was it someone completely different to those two  I can't remember! I might have to go and stalk the TTC threads to find out and come back
Found it, it's Vixstar. All the best with your TTC journey! I hope it's short and sweet
-
ah now Jodie don't start spreading rumours about me ttc'ing - was def not me :) I can barely cope with two let alone another little one. It is Rylee's night sleeps, she doesn't have a day nap anymore - she just finds loads and loads of excuses about why she can't go to sleep, gets a bit wearing at that time of night, but I just need to be firm and consistent with her. Not sure about my sig will see what has gone wrong with it.

BTW Jodes, LOVIN the preggie belly bikini you in your avatar ;)
-
:leap: YAY ANNA ON YOUR PG :leap:
I am so clucky :(
Nelle - dont feel bad hon :comfort: these things happen and being a parent is a learning curb. I make EVERY I can a game or roll play...we even stand and scream like loons when there to much tension in the house. feel friggen awesome afterwards
Ness - so glad your having a fantastic holiday hon. super jealous your meeting Helen and that yourve met Mel. my turn will come in November
I think my boys need to go back to school.....and V kinder...they are driving me banana's atm.
Day sleeps.....what are they? I dont think anyone here has had them in months....I miss my me time lol
-
hey girls
Nelle- glad your speach app went well.. and good luck with using the new methods
Boo boo arnt renos fun LOL
ok well got back from meeting Helen, got to meet the whole tribe... kids included was great.. for those of you who have me on facebook pic is Helen and Ness Pic
thanks so much for coming to meet me Helen!!! your family is beautiful!
-
Congratulations MrsT! Wishing you the best on your magical journey!!
Yes clucky here too but i have no chance. I think the Coeliacs has stuffed everything, but hey i just focus on the turds i have and my biz.
Speaking of which, Ruby wakes up most nights, i sleep with her, then i decide to go to go back to my bed and millana has stolen it.. so yes nights are a blast for me and most days wake up in pain because im not in my own bed.
Ruby is a sweetheart. She doesnt go to kindy till next year. Real pain as millana goes to school 5 days and they could have seen each other in the playground. Now they wont. She is starting to draw pics of her family and they are so so cute. She has found the word "no" and some attitude this week. I think millana has rubbed off on her a little. They will miss each other i am sure.
So millana is 5. Goes to pre-school,still sleeps with us and is abit of a princess. She starts ballet when school starts. We love and rub each other the wrong way.lol But boy she is such a fitness fanatic. She can do chin ups on the bar,sit ups, pushups and spends most of her time in the pool or not sitting still. She xhausts me and i think she definatley takes after hubby in the go-go juice.lol
Me, ok, get to go to qld in april with the girls, started sewing classes once a week to make clothes for me :)
-
caddie - what dates are you in Qld in April? I'm heading down to the Sunshine Coast sometime in April, thinking around 11th-20th (or something like that).
Thanks Annat! I'm lovin it too. I will put a preggie pic up on Facebook soon, I promise :)
laurin - can see your sig again :) No advice on the sleeping though, but i would think persistent would be the key.
Getting ready for a cyclone ATM. It's expected to hit tomorrow. EEEK. Hope it's not a bad one.
-
OH Cad...man you need to sort something with their sleeping hon.....you must be so knacked.
Jodi - please be carefull...I worry about ya honey
Have SIL here atm and nephew......bit hard to get anything done but its nice having them here :)
-
thanks hun. We've stocked up on the food necessities, and the backyard patio is all cleared. Just have to take down the pool sail & trampoline net if it looks like hitting us. We'll know tomorrow morning where it's headed. But we'll be expecting the winds to start tonight. It's such an eerie feeling at the moment, no wind and no rain.
-
oh shiat the calm before the storm :hiding:
just stay safe please woman
-
Jodi- sounds scary! I've never had the experience of looking out for cyclones, don't think I want to either! BTW I love your bear hunt idea, gonna play that with Ash tomor I think.
Maz- thats a great excuse to relax and not get anything done, kick back and have good time.
Caddie- what if you put the 2 girls in together, they could cuddle each other give you a good night sleep! thats great you're doing the sewing classes, I'd love to go do some. Might look into it with everything else I wanna do!
Ness- From seeing on FB looks like you're having a great time down there. Will be great to see your girls again tho I bet but we do need a break occassionally.
Laurin- good luck with the sleep. I'm mean here when Ash plays up, I give her the option of sleeping outseide with the spiders! Lol.
Nelle- don't feel bad with yourself, thats there job to give points on what areas to work woth etc, I remember when my nephew was in speech therapy and they'd work on certain things that we didn't even really think was something that important prior til she explained how certain things can lead to something else etc. Df is like that great at logic and not so great at imagination and he is 40! Lol. His logic drives me nuts sometimes.
MrsT- woohoo! Congrats, how exciting!!! Perfect time now you've got your new house.
I have been selling baby stuff on e-bay so its getting official that there is no more babies here! Bit sad in a way that that part of my life is being left behind but at the same time I remind myself that there is still so much ahead to enjoy.
-
Jodi-Take care hun. Yay on the pregnancy, hope everything is going well.
Ness-So lovely to meet you today, sorry if I was a bit awkward and couldnt stay long, but was so glad to finally see you in person. I hope that you have a good flight back tomorrow. I bet you cant wait to see the girls.
MrsT-Yay, congratulations on your pregnancy, wishing you the best!
I have missed heaps and not read a lot. Shucks you guys make me feel good about wanting to meet me too! I am about to do some budget cuts and have to cut out the internet, so will try to catch up when I am at my mum and dad's. Well I have to go. Hope you are all well.
-
We had a thunderstorm that lasted 30min,, no way as scary as you jodes!! Hide in a place with hardly any windows. Get a mattress ready to hop under!! The way the worlds going lately its freaking strange!
-
Oh no Helen!! I bet that would save a handy chunk of money though! Will that affect internet banking or anything? I've got your mobile number anyway, I can keep you posted on us and tell you to catch up at your parents house if anything interesting happens.
Whoa Jodi, stay safe. Thanks so much for those ideas. He is catching on quickly, I got 'tea' on a tray in bed today, and a 'cake'. Pretty fun.
You always wanted just the two right Shell? It would still feel very final though, hugs.
I know what you mean about things that don't seem like a big deal - the speechie explained that there seems to be a link between the steps in play and in speech - so he's stringing two words together, and can imagine two things in a row (like truck drives to bin, bin goes in the truck), but when you add a third (like girl puts bin in tray) he starts to struggle and gets bored and wanders off. So the trick is to keep him engaged as long as possible, even with two step play, and try to add a third step if I can. Play is hard when you have to think about it! We bought play food, so we'll try and do some shop sort of play maybe.
 Caddie the waking sounds tough. Can you get a mattress or spare bed that's really comfy for you, so when the girls nick your bed you have somewhere to have a good night's sleep? A few nights ago I slept in the spare bed (don't worry, nothing wrong!) and they were the best sleeps EVER! No-one stealing my blankets, I could stretch out, no snoring, could have the fan at full speed.....mmm....Rans knows to watch himself now I know how comfy the spare bed is.
Oh actually! I remember mum and dad used to let us sleep on a camping bed in their room when we were sick...would a little bed for Millana set up in your room work? So she's near you but you get to keep the bed? xo
Ah Laurin, Riv doesn't have day sleeps most days either (I LOVE it when he does, it's so exciting), and you really can tell around 5pm hey. Fragile little things they become!
Hope everyone's having a good weekend!
-
No way....I can't believe we havn't been on here since 23 Jan - Nelle - you little thread killer lol....
Okay, so how is everyone going? What's news, how are our three year olds - wow - I need to ring up the MCHN and book Rylee in for her 3 1/2 yr assessment.
So nothing much here, we have just had ongoing house maintence - first of all floors replaced with wooden flooring then 3 weeks of external painting of our house and next week we get new motorised blinds for the family room - woot. Hasn't it been yucko weather in Melbourne (melb girls) so humid today. We had our swimming lessons this morning, now Rylee is three she can go in by herself and me and Finny were in together - Finny just clung to me like a koala bear the whole time, never mind, he'll get there. Rylee hasn't been to lessons since she was about 22 months - slack mama that I am - just couldn't get my act together last year with Finn being so little....and Rylee is still being a pork chop when it comes to bedtime...any of your kids play up and how do you stay calm and not turn into screeching fish wife?
Anyway, Maz how are you recovering after your op.
Anna - when does your uni start up?
Nelle - how is Riv going, is he loving all the imaginative play?
Caddie - any improvement on the sleep departing, how is Millana at school?
Okay, ladies, take care and speak soon.
L x
-
Ahh thread killer! That's fun, I feel powerful now.
Lol at screeching fishwife Laurin, bedtimes can be a challenge here too. Luckily that's mostly R's job, the way our current arrangement works. I do dinner and then they're all his, and I bring their milk drinks in to their room just before they lie down for lights off.
But yeah, as the day wears on far out they are tricky. Today we had a big morning (Riv's hearing test and then shopping) and they both were playing up so I put them both to bed, took them ages to nod off (not that I cared, more 'me' time) and as a result this arvo they actually were playing fairly nicely at 5:30pm, which is VERY unusual! :D I might do the rest time every day and hope they get used to it - even as Riv gets older it can just be quiet reading/playing time in their room.
Do Rylee and Finn nap in the middle of the day?
So yeah, hearing test went well, I was pretty proud of him. He didn't like the headphones, so she couldn't test the ears individually, but the audiologist said that at least one of his ears was working just fine and that's all you need to learn to talk. There was a very slight amount of pressure in his ears, similar to if he was just getting over a bad cold (but he's not), so we're going back in two months to check that (because she said it can sometimes be an issue with speech) and hopefully we can get him used to headphones at home so that she can use headphones on him then too.
So, that's good to know.
Hope everyone's well, how are you all going?
-
Laurin- if we have bed troubles here we do the just keep returning to bed, luckily for us she will give up quickly with the getting ups but sit in bed yelling, we just ignore her then. Atm our probs are more with her bad attitude.
Nelle- thats good on the hearing test going well. how often do you see the speech therapist?
I finally got Ash a day at CC, she did orientation all last week so will do her first full day Thursdays. Will be good for her with other kids not sure how she'll go all day away from us.
I've been trying to exercise every day and eat better, just trying to tone up, been doing for month now think there is improvements as my pants don't feel as tight. So my wii fit has been getting great use of when Emily goes down for her morn nap and Ash always wants to join in, quite cute watching her try to do it.
-
Hi guys, sorry been awol. Just been diagnosed this week with osteophytosis, arthritis in my spinal cord. So yay, over joyed that once again i get some disease or disorder i cant cure. The dr didnt even give my pain relief the $$$$ as i am too young! Meanwhile i am a cripple morning and night. I cant even roll over in bed. So i suppose divine intervention that i am not pregnant and now i cant be anyway!!
Ok sorry for the crippling news, lol but hey your my friends and thats what friends do. share!
-
Oh Caddie. :( Far out. So what can you do for the pain then? xo
Another speech appt tomorrow, got hearing results today, she said hearing should be okay for speech, but results consistent with mild eustachian tube (from eardrum to throat) dysfunction (he might not have it, just results consistent with). So not a massive issue, but depending on if he has a cold or something, it could cloud things just enough to confuse things. Might explain why he was slow to talk, if the word sounds different each time he hears it or something? Dunno. It sounds like his hearing is good enough for speech to still be helpful while we wait for the next hearing assessment in a couple of months. :) Onwards and upwards and all that!
Everyone else? Shell I giggled when I read about Ash singing Twinkle Twinkle to her class. What a performer! Was it her first day?
-
Caddie - huge hugs to you hun, have the Dr's given you any idea on treatment or the outlook for this, any relief, any form of osteo, etc that might help you in some way. is it worth seeing a naturopath or someone else.
Whoops was going to do more personals but Mr Finn has awoke.
Laurin x
-
Nothing, apparently i have to learn to love pain!
I have myself started fish oil tablet regime and someone has given me other natural supplememnts to assist in pain. But so far no help. Get told your very young to get this and then basically told to deal with it.
I have contacted the arthritus society hoping they can help me. Im just so angry as i seem to be coping all the health crap problems atm. God knows what im going to be like in 10, 20yrs..
-
Caddie,
I hope the arthiritis soc can help you out somehow, there must be other younger people with this.....I am sorry people aren't being helpful, that is extremely frustrating, especially when you think we are a 1st world country and there must be some solutions and you just shouldn't be brushed off, is it worth getting a second opinion from someone?.
-
Caddie, I feel so angry for you! What a load of crap that you're too young for pain relief! Did he give any other reason like long term effects of pain killers? He should be giving you some sort treatment to provide relief, I would definately go see someone else, maybe Dr that specialists in that area?
Nelle, speech therapy will do wonders, my nephew made huge changes, obviously not overnight but stick with the exercises and you'll see results. Can't shut my nephew up now!
Ash loved het first day at CC, didn't want to leave! Sang twinkle twinkle to everyone, usually she Is so shy with ppl she doesn't know. So feel happy with the place.
-
ummm...any news anyone....;)
-
Wow! totally awesome!! Congratulations!!!! Woot another on the way to number 3!!!
Thanks for those who have given support, have been quite down about the news and been in alot of pain. So if i could i would hug you!
-
Boo Boo thats great news, congrats hun. Makes me so clucky and jealous.
Caddie- was sorry to read about the other health issues, you dont deserve any of it, hugs
Shell- how cute is ash, actress/singer in the making there
Nelle- how did the speech app go?
as for us we are all good, still the usual exH issues, he doesnt seem at all pleased that i have moved on and have a happy life. I am on waiting list for surgery (vagina vericose vein removal) will be about 18mths through public but unfort i dont have private health hospital cover so have to wait it out.. and if all goes well once the surgery is done and if DP and i are still fantastic maybe just maybe baby 4 .... but still a long way off.
hope everyone else is well
-
OMG Caddie :( you friggen poor sausage. I cant believe your doctor!!! listen to shell hon and go find another one! Thank god you hav eyour sewing to keep your mind of it but please make sure you dont over do it and end up in to much pain  hon
Shell - I am so jealous that Ash is reacting so well to CC, its fantastic honand gives you some time. Vy screams her head off when I leave her at kinder....both days she went she sat at the door with her bag half way through telling the teacher to ring her mama :( Makes me feel like crap to be honest but she needs to not be so dependant on me. Gotta say your av looks HOT!!!!
Nelle - YAY for River. He's a gorgie boy! Glad that ST is working for you to hon! We are on the waiting list now for M to start, along with seeing an OT because he is so dame unco. Hope yourve settled into your new home to hon.
Laurin - :CHEER: omg hon...how friggen awesome!!!!!! Are you super excited? Was this buba a planned one or a woopsie ;) ahh who cares its another baby!!!!!! I miss babies  how exciting..cluck cluck cluck
Jodi - how you feeling hon? is it still raining catas and dogs up your way?
Belle - any luck on the rental front babe?
Anna - how is Uni? how are the boys?
Helen - how are you and your tribe going?
Rach - how are the boys?
Ness - what ya been up to sexy lady :D
Chrissy - hav eyou found a new place of employment yet?
Ive no doubt forgotten someone but HELLO from moi.
Is anyone friends with AnnaW on FB? I was saddened (for her) that she and Scoot have seperated, poor bugger.
Anywho.....I best go and organise something and look like the usefull stepford wife
-
Oh I didn't realise bout Anna and Scott, I do have her on FB I must be oblivious to things. Ah that sucks. I hope she is doing ok and has good support around her.
Maz- She will settle but it is hard when they dont want you to leave. Your reasoning was exact reason why I put Ash in, thought she needed some independance away from us, only ever been looked after by Df and I and our parents. Before long Vy will be telling you she wants to stay longer there cause she's having a ball.
Ness- ow that sounds painful, public system sucks like that, you'd think in country like ours we should have better one in place. Is it really painful? How much would it cost to pay yourself? Ooh and maybe number 4, we will be waiting.
Laurin- Big congrats!!! :happyforyou: We are due for more baby news in here!
-
Thanks for your congrats girls. Yes, it was a big oopsie, I am excited but feeling like omg - my head just spins about it all, keeping everyone happy etc, and the early exhausting days...but it will work out....I mainly feel sorry for DD and DS as it is another person they have to share me with. Oh, if you are on my FB please don't say anything, I havn't told anyone yet (apart from DH)...
Sad news about Anna and Scott. :(
Ness - hoping the surgery comes quicker for you, that's a long wait!
Shell - great that Ash likes CC - makes you feel better, Maz - Vy will get there, maybe another couple of weeks and she'll start seeing how much fun she can have.
Better go, someone is awake :(
Laurin x
-
Shell- I dont have the money to pay it out myself without the public system. And its painful.. more of a throbbing ache that comes in heat.. and when i have high blood pressure. Its not a desperate needed surgery. Its more so a surgery that i will need if i want baby no 4. Pg for me with these veins is extremly painful.
-
ah christ Ness... :( you poor bloody bugger. You and me make a good team then ;) you with the front and me with the back lol.
Shell - I am hanging for that day. Noi one bar J and me has looked after her and having anxiety issues due to what happened with M when he was born doesnt help.
Laurin - my lips are sealed lol. The kids will love having a baby around and you'll be surprised how ace it is.
My news......I have had bowel surgery. I had a cyst on my bowel drained last year adn the tube was left in for to long so a fistual formed, thankfully becuase the cyst never eally went and the exit on my bum (2 inches away from my a hole) would weep puse and bowel fluids. I was on the waiting list from October last year to get it fixed. Surgery was done on the 5th of this month were they splayed open the fistual to my a hole and then put like a laso in place to hold my a hole there and to heal. VERY painful to say the least and im getting better everyday but so much better of then what could have been. It was either this way to get a bag for poohs :(. I go back in 4 weeks to see how well im healing and then the doc will either tighten the laso (correct name starts with c but I cant remember) or re operate. I am so scared witless its not funny.
Never rains but it pours doesnt it...now happy news....there's gotta be another pg lurking.....
-
A massive congrats to Laurin, how exciting!!!!! Maybe I jinxed ya with confusing you and Vixstar about trying for #3
maz - yep, like the others have said, she will adjust, it'll just take time. It's a huge adjustment for them, especially at this age. she'll get there hun.
And yeah, it's still raining here on and off. Kinda over it, but we did have a lovely day yesterday with the sun, but raining again today
ness - bummer about the surgery and having to wait. But a woohoo on possibily going for number 4! That's very exciting.
nelle - speech therapy will do wonders for him. I can still remember when I was 5 and going to speech therapy. I still remember what I did there! lol
We have some good news here ... I'm going to be an Aunty for the THIRD time this year! As some of you already know, my SIL is due mid April, my sister due 27/04, and now my brother has got his girlfriend UTD and she's due 27/10  And do you see a trend here?? My sister due 27th, me due 27th, my bro's girlfriend due 27th! :D
