Clare I get what you're saying but gee! A bit more warning would have been nice so you could have gotten yourself better prepared for it mentally. I know! it was far enough that I had to drive down and get him LOL. And it's sooo hard to be cross at them for it because you know their little hearts were in the right place and they are just so darn cute when they do it.
ETA - I forgot to say we don't do bottles anymore! I just started doing the 'don't ask, don't refuse' thing and he's not worried about a bottle of milk for about a week. With the really hot nights he was waking up thirsty so I would put water in a bottle for him to have in bed. So that's another thing I can cross off the 'He's still a baby because..." list ROFL. The only things left are sleeping in the cot and nappies. Then he's just my little boy
Trill far out at the wandering!!! Jeepers that would make me anxious. I'm guessing you'll be investing heavily in bright yellow and orange tshirts now? LOL Missy E has just learnt how to unlock the front door which is a bit of a worry - I've had to start key locking it because she has no fear of exploration LOL.
Clare that's a bit rough, but in another way it might be good for your confidence, going it alone for a few days...? TBH the whole ex thing would freak me out the most - nice way to undermine your confidence
Kate - nice to see you pop in, I've been loving the photos too. Such gorgeous kids! Yeah, no sleepins when you have a bub AND a toddler - it's so different from just having one, isn't it.
Arte - I cannot believe the cheese/chocolate routine - how sneaky and underhand!! Gosh they're disgraceful, these oldies, aren't they? I'm quite sure they never gave us food like that when they were our parents, did they?
Haha, I'm watching Missy E (aka Typhoid Mary) outside playing...totem tennis! Ok so her aims not real good but it hasn't stopped her yet LOL.
Supa B - Congratulations on your exciting news, a new little one for your family!
Renee - hope the house sale all goes ahead
Clare - loving your inlaw stories, what a shame they don't like closer so we could have a new story every week!!! Wish we had quiet midnight antics, DD is needing one lot of quick cuddles at about 11 each night (after going in for 4 lots at bedtime!) and then is waking about 4:30 or 5 at which stage she hops into the spare bed with one of us. This morning she woke up with DH and he must have been totally unresponsive that she had to come and get me - poor guy, went into work yesterday and was up late doing work too, he would have been desperate for another 30 minutes.
Last week my parents were down and Granny was not acceptable in the middle of the night, such a shame, we were looking forward to a bit of sleep. She ended up on her mattress on our floor for 3 nights.
We don't have too much trouble with the oldies and lollies. An occasional box of chocolate tiny teddies that lasts for weeks or a little box of smarties. My main gripe with MIL is the constant channel surfing to find cartoons for DD. We record a Thomas episode every day for her and last week Bob and that's all she watches. DD hasn't had fizzy drink yet, only a couple of glasses of juice and never been to McDonalds (except when she's fallen asleep in the backseat and I'm in drive thru!!) She and DH share an icy pole each night, it used to be a frozen yogurt but she didn't cope when he had something different.
Trill - that is one determined little boy, wandering down your driveway like that.
We have two top molars, not sure about bottom. They're awful coming through!!
Heading up to Canberra end of this week, we're going to Playschool. Everytime DD has watched it, she's lasted less than 5 minutes so it will be interesting to see how she goes. Hoping to get heaps of Christmas shopping in too.
hey everyone,
thanks for the support re the dh incidents.. bleh so over it.. im stuck in a rut majorly just sitting around all day, eating.. the house is a mess around me and william has his bottles in his bouncer and sleeps most the time i just dont know what to do.. really struggling atm, supposed to pick up ash from childcare soon but its really bad weather and i just dont wanna go.. idk whats wrong with me lately no energy no life! sorry lots of venting lately!
Sherie: OMG! i totally had to hold my pelvic floor i was laughing so hard at your blog!!! it's scary, but he ssooooo has the farmer down pat LOL! the red top does stand out i must say!
yeah, i too realised that Leila doesnt have much of the 'baby' thing happening anymore. she only has the nappies going. but what with the lack of bottles, big girl bed and her speech development and play etc., i know i am watching my baby as a little girl now. proud of her, but also eensy weensy bit nostalgic!
MD: you're right. i know that i will be fine, it just brings alot of memories of when DH worked in the gong and i would spend week after week on my own. it's going to be nowhere near as bad, but a bit of notice would of been nice (and not seeing the Ex would be even nicer LOL!...i so dont do well with that kind of thing IYKWIM).
Noni - DH and I have issues sometimes too, it is hard with little ones, I can't imagine having two! Big hugs, don't worry about complaining, we're here to listen!!
Noni hun, at some point you have to say to yourself "I'm not going to do this anymore. Tomorrow I am going to just get up and DO IT" only you can make changes in your life for the better Once you take that first step everything after that is easy and the rest just falls into place. How about you set yourself one goal that you must acheive each day. It doesn't have to be a big one, even something like reading the kids a book or playing a game. Anything that will get you off that couch and out of your slump.
Hi everyone!
Gotta be quick as I am on my I touch and about to go get Noah
Cally - are you going on Friday to the concert? I will be there with Noah and some friends on Friday
Clare you had me in stitches with your il stories! Though I am sure it was np laughing matter at the time
Md wish I could slow time down for you babe
Sheeie - a is such a wonderful character! Will read your blog later
Supa - congrats!!
Mm - love the sound of your hpliday
Noni hugs to you sounds like a rough time
Ok will be back layer lovely ladies just wanted to say hello at least
hey everyone,
swimming this morning with asha and then hopefully ill be able to do some tidying when i get home.. kids woke up half hour before dh's alarm today hate it when that happens!!
trill - i know its all a matter of cracking the cycle that im in.. some days i do ok and get a few things done other days i sit around saying ok in half an hour im gonna get up and do x but ofc that time gets extended to the point where i dont do anything.. im really struggling with eating too just eating really badly and sitting around upset about my weight.. would love to go back to weigt watchers but we just cant afford it atm maybe ill look into online membership coz u can get it alot cheaper, as long as i still follow it not having to weigh in at meetings and all..
as for the baby thing Asha is also becoming my little girl rather than my baby.. were having trouble breaking the dummy/bottle thing, shes really comforted by them and especially at school shes needed them lately.. but nappies are a sleep time only thing here now, yesterday i decided to send her in undies again to childcare coz shed been going for them and she came home in the same undies and pants so proud!!!
anyways hope everyones having a good morning
Its true isnt it - I cant believe how grown up N is these days. the things that come out of his mouth sometimes just amaze me! Though he has started to call me 'Mum' - I want to be called 'Mummy' for a long time yet thank you very much!!!
J has his needles yest - poor little guy... he was so upset after it, he wouldnt even feed... then last night he screamed and screamed at bed time. thankfully once i got him down he was his usual self overnight (ie 3 feeds!) and seems a bit better today. i hate the needles so much!
N had his chickenpox vacc on friday (bad mum having the 18 month one now!!) - he threw up a few times on the weekend, i dont know if it was vacc related or some sort of gastro...
Arte - thats a good pt re N's eating = he doesnt have his molars yet... spo maybe that's it. though i think it is behavioural.. so we are trying not to give it much attention... he has eaten a bit better the last 2 days... (maybe it was his tummy)
I have been really busy trying to sort out the move to melb... we have so much to do! i have N in a creche which is awesome... trying to work out what to do with J when I go back to work... what age did you all start at creches?
WW meeting today... not looking fwd to it, been a bit off the rails this week...
MP, I meant to say a big fat YAY!!! for moving back to Melbourne. Is that where you come from? From memory your families are all there, so that will be fantastic!
Trill, I had a look at your blog and it makes me want to move to the country! We were looking at buying some land here but I am not sure - probably can't afford to. But I would really love the children to grow up in the country, we had a few acres and had pet cows/sheep/chooks and I loved it. A sounds adorable, but I am glad that W is too much a mumma's boy to wander lol
Noni, it is rut-ville here too. Sometimes it is alright, then other times I get so sick of living the same day over and over. And I keep eating whatever junk food I can find, the fact that we don't have any bathroom scales allows me to deny that I am about 10kgs heavier than pre-preg.
MD, E must be adorable playing with the tennis thing. I love the unco look - like when you throw a ball and they stand with arms out waiting and it still sails right into them lol
Cally, playschool sounds cool. It isn't on here anymore. Did you know that NZ playschool had toys with the same names (except we had an extra maori baby called Manu). I felt so ripped off when I saw the Aussie one and realised that what I thought was a peice of traditional kiwi childhood was actually a cheap copy lol
Clare, I am flying solo this week too. DH has gone away until Thursday night. 3 whole days. Alone. I am hoping like heck that W has easy bedtimes. How is your Oma doing now?
Bedtime has become a nightmare! On friday and sunday nights he kept coming out of bed wanting something/tantruming etc for up to two hours! Then he wakes at 2ish, keeps getting up for the next couple of hours and then gets up for the day at 4am. It was hell. Really hoping he doesn't do it while DH is away.
arte - i am about 10kgs heavier too tho i wanna lose more than that maybe around 15 - 20.. first goal is 5 tho.. some radical changes need to be made around here tho, eating instant noodles for breakfast this morning wont help lol and take away last night.. gotta start planning meals and get it under controll.. bedtime is a nightmare here atm too.. i think its coz we had a few really hot days and we let her fall asleep on the lounge coz her room was rediculously hot damn weather!!
mp - goodluck at weight watchers hope it goes ok even though uve had a bit of an off week.. wow 3 feeds overnight idk how u do it! william feeds alot during the day and then last feed around 10 - 11 and then again around 6.30 or sometimes earlier but usually he will nap a little after the feed if it was earlier than 630 and i still complain about being tired
Noni: that is so amazing about A keeping dry through the day. what an achievment for your little girl!
MP: Leila started creche at 6 months. she was in for 2 days a week. but i had the luxury of being on campus and was able to visit her twice a day for boobie juice and cuddles (i would also be able to put her to bed etc etc).
Arte: eepp! 3 days with no DH! i have to say that i know that i will be fine, it's more the lead-up IYKWIM. i am also desperately trying to round up the troops to keep us entertained over the weekend LOL!
My Oma is doing ok. she goes two steps forward 1 step back. still in rehab for oldies, but hopefully she can have a day stay over christmas so we can all spend it together.
AFM: all good here! just had MG and it was lovely. lots of coffee and yummy food! hmmm other then that nothing to report LOL! gosh we are exciting!
MD, Yay!!!!!!! That is the best news I have heard in ages.
Noni, forgot to say Well Done to Asha for the dry knickers! She is doing sooo well with it.
One day nearly down....
W came out of his room at bedtime so I shut the door - it has been 20 mins with no noise so hopefully he took the hint and went to sleep.
He pulled A off the couch onto the floor today. I was so mad! But he seemed genuinely sorry and apologised to her - I don't think he realised that it would hurt her.
