    Hi girls
It's quiet in here.... hope everyone is having a fun Good Friday! i am glad to have a few days off... hope i get some rest, i am soooo tired. wondering if i have bitten off more than i can chew atm but think a few days when hopefully i can get life a bit in order will help.
Poor little J is having a rough time. he was badly constipated - interest in solids has sky rocketed (not like N was but having more) and think that's been causing probs.. anyway think we got over that yest and then in th enight he started screaming and obv had a v sore throat. called the locum servicve who came out to see him this morning and he has a throat infection and sore ears (but not ear infection) so we got him some anti bis... so i guess the weekend will be full of R&R for the little man. i forgot how hard it is when one issue cascades into another....
I have taken N to one movie - it was the wiggles concert on the big screen. he loved that but i am not sure how he would go with a movie with a plot to follow etc...

Hi lovelies sorry I haven't been around much. Has been a very busy month. Both kids have been sick (along with DH) as well as a trip to Sydney and trying to work as much as I can. I think about you all often though and jump on and read when I can.
Will try my hardest to catch up more later, just wanted to quickly say hi.

AFM: all ok here. very tired. leila is tired too but too excited as we have friends coming over for dinner and DH mentioned it and now she is scared to miss out so now i am stuck with overtired 2 year old and a DH at soccer...grrrr....and guess who has to do the groceries??!

not happy jan! (ok, that's enough boo hoo for me LOL!).

i am looking forward to tomorrow and the easter eggs! have prepared Leila a lovely little basket and cant wait to see her face when she sees it!

Clare, don't procrastinate girly - a mid august finish date is cutting it close! Don't want to be contracting during your final meeting! A PhD and 2 bubs in 3.5 years is quite an achievement.

MP, I seem to remember you asking if you had bitten off more than you could chew about this time two years ago just after you went back to work after N. Give it a bit of time, I am sure you will find your fantastic groove soon. Hope J is feeling better soon.

Not much going on here. A has started mummmm mummming which is adorable. W is sleeping though the night more than half the time now which is great (just in time for A to start teething lol)

Oh, oh, I won the March photo comp!

I guess everyone else actually has something to do over easter...

Cally, we had an ongoing bribe system for TT - every couple of days we would say if he did his business on the potty he would get a Freddo. When he actually used the potty, the first words out of his mouth were "I can have a Freddo for that". So although he didn't take the offer, he knew it was there when he was ready.

Looks like we are taking an unplanned shopping trip since the fridge has decided to pack up. The freezer is filled with ice and the fridge is barely colder than the house.

I can't believe how contrary W has been lately! Everything is opposite to what we say. The other night he wouldn't even accept it was night - looked out the window into the darkness and proclaimed it was day! Can't wait for the teen years lol.

I keep thinking about the BB lady who took her own life. So so sad

Just popping in quickly to say Hoppy Easter to everyone (while it still is). Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, we had a flying visit from my nephew today who lives in QLD, so been out all day. DDs have had loads of fun with egg hunts & playing with their cousins...few minor ownership scuffles over chocolate through LOL.

Arte, congrats on your photo win! Bummer about your fridge...you should ask around in case someone has a spare you can borrow for a few days so you don't need to be too hasty with your fridge buying decision.

    hi girls!

Arte: trust me. nothing exciting happening here lol. Leila is sorta a bit like W on the opposites thing: i tell her it is early/late/night/day and she quips out the opposite in defiance. i *kinda* love it LOL!

and WOW on the photo babe! it is just beautiful! it appears we have budding photographers in our group!!

I was also really taken aback from reading that news. brings it close to home really doesnt it.

I've been here, but just had loads on my mind plus a piddly head cold/sinusitis so can't think straight which is making it super hard to get the assignment finished that is due tomorrow.

Easter was OK, but a bit ****ty. I spent all last week getting Mum's DP's will organised for him - thankfully our Solicitor was happy for me to go in with a list of his intentions and he did up a will that I was able to take out to him to sign because he's been bedridden since his chemo treatment 3 weeks prior. I got him to sign it on Wednesday, which was the day he had to go for his next round, so I knew he would be lucid (the 50mg of oxycontin twice a day has kept him pretty stoned!) and its a good thing I did because he was admitted to hospital that day and they couldn't go ahead with his chemo because his left kidney has failed, he was severely dehydrated and his bloods didn't look great. So if he has improved after the next lot of bloods tomorrow then he might be able to have the chemo, but if his oncologist isn't happy with the results, then this is the end of it no more can be done for him. I honestly don't think that it is worth him having it anyway. The chemo isn't going to cure him, only prolong his life but his quality of life is so bad atm who would want it to last longer kwim? Mum is run rugged to the point where her sugar is way up again (20!) and she is over it - not him, but over all the calls from his older kids, his first wife (Don't even ask about that LOL) and every other tom **** and harry who just want the gossip but can't be stuffed actually visiting. She is trying to organise a carer's pension because she has givin up work again and his medical cert runs out at the end of next month so I have been trying to take some of the burden off her, going over and sitting with him so she could go into town and get paperwork sorted out etc. As much as i don't want this to end for obvious reasons, I wish it would hurry up and be over kwim? Mum is at the point where she can't look after him properly with him being completely bedridden, so she would prefer he stay in hospital for longer so she can get herself sorted out but he wants to come home. Not only that she has had all 4 of his sisters staying with her, plus my sister and niece, so the house is just bedlam. We had planned that because he was in hospital that Mum would stay home easter saturday and his sisters would spend the day with him in hospital, but 10 minutes before I got there she had to go to the hospital because he wanted her there and she didn't get back till nearly 6pm, which I can understand, but at the same time I am being the petulant child and having a sulk about it because the kids are missing out on seeing her because of it kwim? I can't say anything to Mum because she feels bad enough as it is So everything is just crap atm.

Sorry to have to lay it all on you guys but i think DH is sick of me talking about it

Trill please know I am thinking of you and your family. Caring for someone and supporting someone who is caring for someone at the end of their life is an enormously stressful and draining thing to do. I'm sorry your kids are missing out at this time, sounds like everyone is stretched thin. Well done getting the will sorted out...I hope your mum can cut thru the red tape to get the Centrelink stuff organised too.

I feel so sad. There is tragedy everywhere I look at the moment. Hold your lovelies close everyone.

Hope everyone had a good Easter.

Trill - sounds like things are a bit difficult for you at the moment, thinking of you.

We had a good weekend. Caught up with family and friends, but not too busy we didn't have time to go for bike rides and visit the beach.

I think we're having semi success with TT. She doesn't want to wear undies half the time so I'm not pushing it, but when she did wear them there were no accidents. Even a few times when she had a nappy on and she told me there were wees coming and went running off to the potty, so pleased with that.

Arte - good luck with your new fridge purchase.

MD, thanks for the suggestion of asking around to borrow a fridge, but remember that I am a lonely loser and there is only one person that I even know well enough to ask here. We shopped online anyway, but buying an appliance because you have to is way more of a chore than buying a toy that you actually want.

Cally, sounds like TT is off to a good start.

    Trill, thinking of you

There is so much sadness on BB atm

Sherie: man, i am sending you big phat massive hugs you really need them xx

MD: so so true. there is just so much going on atm on BB and makes you realise how precious life is and can be.

Cally: i *think* (knock on wood) that we too are having luck with TT. our change was the introduction of the sticker chart. she LOVES it lol. we mostly have wees, but have one sticker for a poo lol. started it on saturday and so far we have 7 stickers!

    Hi girls

i was sorry to hear about the BBer that took her own life too. i was very shocked and have been thinking about her a lot.

trill- big hugs to you, you are going through such a hard family time.

md- what is all this sadness around? i hope that everything is ok, you have me worried now!!

hello to everyone else. sorry i have not been on here much, it is just absolutely hectic with 2 toddlers. J is absolutely carzy and into everything. he climbs up and turns my computer off, touches all the printer buttons, is always on the phone. it's a nightmare! and L is his partner in crime. if J can't reach up to something, L gives him a hoist! it's ludicrus around here atm!

well we are going away this wknd to echuca which should be great, taking the boat and staying right on the river.

and the best news of all is that we have bought the kids a cat! i'm so excited, i listened to your advice MD when choosing her and she is just an absolute sweetheart. she is getting desexed today and we pick her up on monday arvo to come home with us. L is so excited!

Ginger, I'm ok, but along with the tragedies here on BB, some of the women in my BC support community have had some deaths and one is having signs that her disease is progressing (once it gets past a certain point it gallops), she has a 6 yo son and it's just so sad.

Oh but I'm so excited to hear you're getting a little kitty!!! Is it a British shorthair after all? Oh you will love her...I"m such a happy pet owner, I don't know where I would be without my little furries. My little puss is very attached to me, I held her and cuddled her a lot when she was little and she's my best mate LOL. Sleeps on my side of the bed (next to my feet) and purrs louder for me than anyone else LOL.

Cass, well done with the TTing...it's going fair to moderately here, she seems to get a bit stressed about it sometimes so I don't insist, kwim. We tried putting her back into nappies over the long weekend but she kept announcing she wanted to go to the toilet so we're just following her lead and leaving her to it.

Cally, sounds like you had a nice weekend now that the cricket season is over . Bike rides and the beach sounds nice...we got some fresh 'lake' air on Fri down at the coastal lakes...there was actually some water there this year !

Arte - yay for getting a fridge online and yes much less funner than buying toys! I prolly wouldn't have anyone to ask either...I pretend I have friends but really most of them are staring at their screens reading this .

Well we had a lovely weekend too - Easter was a ripper - we had our neice staying and we dyed eggs and baked bunny biscuits & spent fri with family...the egg hunts were very well received and I have so far managed to ration out all the chocolate so there haven't been any messy cocoa-related breakdowns LOL. The EB left a charlie chick in Missy E's bedroom on Easter morning...she was so chuffed she carried it around for an hour and a half afterwards LOL. I'm not sure she realises there's chocolate in there though....

LOL MD, Mum got A the charlie chick box set thing and he wanted it at 5pm yesterday, it was in the beer fridge in the laundry so I just put it in the dryer because it was open and he can't reach it up there, but later when I had the drier on (after putting charlie chick back in the fridge) he went in there all worried and told me to get his chocolate chicken out of there ROFL.

Well done on the fridge Arte! We will be due for a new one soon I reckon, we've had this one for years and years.

G, how cute you got a cat! I'm not a cat fan, but the kids like playing with them don't they?

Cass and Cally, well done on the TT front with the girls!

Thanks for your support guys, it means so much today has been a long day. Went and visited J in hospital and he looks so much better, but he told me he wasn't going home ever again and he wont be having chemo tomorrow trouble is, he tells me these things, but he plays it down for mum kwim? He knows he can trust me to be honest with him though. It was great to see him so lucid too, wasn't sure what to expect because Mum had said they were keeping a steady flow of morphine up to him to help him get over having all the visitors over the weekend. Sister is being a total ***** too atm and I'd love to give her a right slapping, so it's a good thing she went home to melb today LOL

    Hi girls!

Ginger: had to have a giggle at the 'partners in crime'. they are so lucky to have eachother, it must be hard at times with them both, but by golly gosh what a precious gift you gave them in eachother.

have a GREAT time on your trip! i am so jealous. DH is off to sydney leaving me on my lonesome. grrr could of done with a trip to sydney...

Sherie: there is some blessed relief that the SIL has gone home. gives you guys a chance to rebuild a 'safe' and 'happy' cocoon around yourselves in the coming weeks.

Arte: i am impressed by how fast you got that fridge! we soo need one. the one we have was bought when we were DINKS, now there is just not enough room IYKWIM.

MD: i am really sorry to hear that the support group is going through some heavy stuff atm and it must be quite difficult and rattling to be faced with it with people that you love and know.

Cass, well done with the TTing...it's going fair to moderately here, she seems to get a bit stressed about it sometimes so I don't insist, kwim. We tried putting her back into nappies over the long weekend but she kept announcing she wanted to go to the toilet so we're just following her lead and leaving her to it.
i have to admit that we are solely taking her lead. she mostly wears her cloth nappies now though as we found that she will take them off and go to the toilet (or the garden as the case may be ) to do a wee. but she now asks pretty much everytime and we only had a wet nappy for her arvo sleep! (but we also had a poo in the garden ROFL!

AFM: ok here. bit miffed that DH is off to sydney for a conference and i aint coming lol. we have friends up there that he is staying with and i would of LOVED to go and hung out and explored with leila. but no. stuck at home with domestic duties and the animals. ho hum.

    hi girls

cass- sorry to hear you are missing out on the sydney trip. how come you're not invited? do you get scared when you're home alone? i do! i hate it when dh goes away.

md- so sorry to hear that so many of your support group are going through such terrible things. i hope things look a little brighter for you soon.
i went to a local breeders (ie. crazy cat obsessed woman) with my friend to get a british shorthair but fell completely in love with a russian blue girl. i held a couple of the british kittens but they just seemed kinda detached iykwim? the russian girl was pushing all the other kittens out of the way saying 'look at me! look at me!'. when i picked her up she was purring and happy and just so lovely that my friend said 'she's the one'. she's not as cute looking as the british but she's just got such a cool personality and she loved L. can't wait to bring her home. i think we're gonna call her Georgia. what do you guys think?
