My Dr freaked me out too and told me id need more stitches to remove it. IMHO i think youre better off seeing the OB/gyno. It is what they specialise in and will be able to tell you exactly what needs to be done, rather then just an assumption from a GP that may cause you unneeded stress when theres no need. Not that im saying your GP is wrong.. but id just myself rather see a specialist for something like that. My GP hadnt even heard of applying silver nitrate when i suggested it to her after i had been told about it on here... shows what GPs know about that department.. and that was the first thing the OB said he'd do.
My skin tag caused me quite a bit of pain at the beginning but seemed to slightly lessen as time went on. It was about the size of a thumb nail hanging like a shark fin lol. But even that little sensitiveness will go (hopefully) when the skin tag does. Mine did. I feel right as rain now and did within a day or two of it going. Just try not to think about it, thats what i did, and do what you have to do i guess. It may just even need some silver nitrate applied to remove the tag and thats it. Ive heard alot of people on here say their OBs have told them to massage where it seems a bit tight and that can help soften it.. perhaps the OB would be better in recommending something like that will help rather than freaking you out about an operation?
Anyways, let me know how you go. Hope everything works out... youll be right
