Wow, Victoria only just brought my attention to this thread. I hope that Ethan gets better soon. This is such a good example as to why health practitioners should always take parents seriously.

I also have to say how impressed I am with the local hospital who guessed that it was a bite of some description over the phone. I have been children's nursing for nearly ten years, and I don't think I would have been able to make that connection from a simple phone call. Well done.

    Hi everyone

Ethans surgery went well, and that nasty spider is out! We are still in the hospital as ethan is taking a bit to recover, he is being tube fed at the moment as he is too groggy to do it himself. The drs said they dont think he will have any side effects. So he is on the mend. Im so relieved. we may be coming home tomorrow depends how he goes tonight.

Thanks so much everyone for your support and positive words. It has helped us so much through this tough time. You are wonderful people.

I must go now will let you know when we are back at home.

Oh my goodness, my heart was in my mouth reading this thread! I'm so impressed the hospital and the dr figured it out and found the spider.

You are both very very brave, stay strong, he's on the road to recovery now.

I was bitten twice by a redback while at Uni, so I know how painful it can be, poor little Ethan. Thinking of you all.
