I had my csection last week and I was really opinionated the whole way thru

I made sure my support person, student midwife and midwife all knew my wishes before we went in. The most important things to me were: seeing him come out, having my student midwife 'catch' him, my mum cut the cord, visual contact while the paed checked him out, being informed of all his stats and then skin to skin as soon as the paed finished with him.

His apgars were quite low and the paed wanted to take him to scn but I insisted on skin to skin before he went. But when he was with me his vitals picked up and he was able to stay with me in recovery.

I found as long as I am firm and tell them what I would like I didn't have any problems with them granting my wishes. Good luck with your csection, I hope it is everything you hope for.
