I made the rule that the baby is not to be put in a crib (unless they need to), DH or the midwife is to hold the baby if I cannot. First time, I had a quick hold, then DH took her and held her for the 3 hours till I came out of recovery. Second time, DH held her (inbetween the Paed doing all his stuff), then the moment I was slightly awake she was snuck into recovery and put skin to skin whilst I was lying down for her to feed.
