I had a very positive elective caesarean too with DD2 after a very negative post-birth recovery after my VB with my first daughter. One day I'll get around to writing my birth story about my caesar. And, that was despite a few people on BB trying to tell me that I didn't need an elective caesar, like they would know my situation better than me and my physios. Some people just don't get that not everyone's situations and experiences are the same.

Wishing you a very wonderful caesar!

I had 2 great cs 1 emergency and 1 elective. Both I enjoyed and yes i would have loved a natural birth but hay I have 2 healthy boys to show for my cs.

My elective 1 was awesome as DS2 was with me the whole time only leaving theatre with DH to go to recovery room while they changed me back to the bed from operating table so max 10 mins apart from me and then was with me in bed from when i got to recovery.

People have this habbit of telling people how much a failure they are or cop out for having a cs and everyone knows a horror story or 2 but to be honest majority of cs are great for all involved. Things go wrong in natural births as much as cs.

So bloody true. I am weeks away and just searching for all the positive stories I can get my hands on. Glad your experience was wonderful. I even get no more then a minute away from bubs. Something I was told was not possible. *Apparently there will be hours apart from when I see bubs.. *so not true. : )

I was happy with the 10 mins as i knew DH had him and no one else.

Good luck with yours, an elective cs generally is a nicer experience as no rushing all calm and exciting!!!

Might not have been true in reality but I FELT like I spent less time apart from DD2 (Csection) than I did with DD1 (VB). With DD1 I was completely exhausted (long labour) and had to have a couple of stitches. DP took her off for weighing etc. whereas with DD2 they just completed the end of the surgery while I had cuddles with DD2 then DP took her away and honestly it felt like 10 mins. She was with me in recovery and the midwives attached her for a breastfeed straight away so that actually happened earlier than it did with DD1.

I has a good experience with an 'emergency' c-section after a failed induction. My midwife, OBS, Anesthetist and other nursing staff were awesome prior, during & after my c-sect. My recovery was excellent too. Best of luck

Aside from my issues before the first, and after the second c-section both of mine went well and I believe that yes I had a c-section but I did not fail my babies in any way... they are here, they are healthy and we are happy... my third one will hopefully be more positive that the last two but again I am just playing it by ear
