I also had a good c-section experience ('elective' due to breech) - I was able to breastfeed in recovery and definitely felt like I had enough contact with DD. My physical recovery was pretty good, I was happy to take what ever painkillers were offered while we were in hospital but only needed them for a few days once I got home. I did however end up with a bladder infection (linked to having a catheter) and simulatneously, mastitis - so that wasn't too fantastic!
GL with the arrival of bubba in just over a month
My c-section experience was very positive. It wouldn't have been my first choice but DS just would not engage and the head was still too high to be induced. The only time he was away from me was when I was being stitched up and he was being checked, and DH got a chance to fawn over him and have a first cuddle.
My only probs were that I was very very shaky throughout (apparently normal) and that I was nauseas afterwards as I was given some drug to shrink my uterus. I vomited once and while I was feeling so sick it was a bit unpleasant but it passed quickly.
My recovery was brilliant and I have a tiny, barely visible scar. One of my mother's group girls had a c-section on the same day and hers was emergency and her recovery was not as easy as mine - I hear this is common.
I am having another one for this bub in July and am not worried about it at all. Good luck!
I had an awesome c section. DH was with me, he got to cut the cord and i got skin to skin straight away. Its been 3 weeks and i feel totally recovered and my little boy is just the most precious thing ever!
