My experience was very similar and just as positive!
I was induced but the labour didn't progress so after 10 hrs c-section was done. I was very lucky also as my bub's UC had a knot in it (just not tightened) and was wrapped around his neck twice.
I had no pain and only took ibuprofen for 1 day after c-section then no further meds used.
I was up and walking 10 hrs after the op and had a wonderful wonderful experience! If we do have another bub I will request a c-section next time.
In fact, the worst part was getting the staples out!
Another one here that had a great c/s experience. My 5th was done due to pre eclampsia but I got to hold her while I was still on the table and then DF took her into recovery where the midwives undid my gown and gave us skin on skin time. They waited almost an hour to weigh and do the stats and this was after she did the breast crawl and had her first feed. I had the same midwife all the way through and couldn't have been happier. I might end up having another c/s with this new one but now I'm not worried as I know what to expect. Good luck with it all.
