I have two girls, my first was 10 pound, then my second 15 years later was only 8 pound.
I know what you mean about not fitting into the newborn clothes and never having what feels/looks like a newborn but on the plus side the bigger babies are usually stronger, less delicate then smaller ones and they seem to have less feeding issues.
I don't think the size of the baby makes a difference to labour/birth, but where you are and who you invite to be with you.
Enjoy your next pregnancy without spending time worrying about the possible size of a baby, just eat good food, have as much exercise as feels right and trust that your body will grow the right sized baby for you.
