Oh leeloo I'm sorry to hear that your swaying efforts didn't work, I know how it is to feel that pang of disappointment, but congrats on your little man.

CB how are things going with you?

Tali I can't see your chart for some reason, fingers crossed for you this month.

Tanya how are things going for you?

My charting is going crap, I haven't O'd yet, I still don't have AF ect. I've had a funny tummy for the last two weeks on and off not sure what the go is, also been having headaches as well.

    everyone.

Oh Leeloo I'm sorry to here that swaying didn't work for you but happy that you are having a beautiful baby boy. At our 16 week scan the Doc hinted that I might be right that we are having a boy but we have decided to wait till the bitter end with this one. I hope I'm right! Hope the rest of your pregnancy is as good as the first half.

Good luck to everyone else keep your chin up!

Hi All I am popping back in because I am finally off the pill and hoping to sway blue. I got some clear blue digital ovulation tests with the smiley face. Has anyone used these? Would you dtd on the first positive or the second for a boy? I am going to take epo to increace cm, eat lots of salty food and avoid dairy. I am not really good with diets so it will be minimal for that. Am probably going to drink eno for a few days prior to o. Anything else?

    Congrats Lastchance

Leelo I am sorry that you didnt get your pink bundle but enjoy your little blue bundle.

    Cheers
    Melissa

    Hi all

Never thought I would be here! But after a massively unexpected reversal in thinking by DH, here I am!

I know that we would both really like to have a little boy, so will try to sway that way.. not really too fussed but I think DH might be a little more set on a boy than I am lol

Anyway, just after some tips - I am new to all this charting and TTC stuff (DD was an oops lol).
Only problem is i am still in Melbourne for another couple of weeks adn DH is at home in Perth so no action as yet (damn DH for telling me over the phone!! hehe)
But thought I would get a jump on charting early.

Do I need to get ovulation tests? Are they accurate? and how strict do I need to be with the diet?

    So, hi!

I'm a bit lost - can you gender swayers help me? What are the basics I need to know to try for a girl? Who has tried for a girl and got one? I'd love to hear what has worked for people.

Thanks so much Tanya. I wasn't quite sure where to start. I'm sure I'll be back to clarify things I've learned.

    Hi LS

I would be as strict as possible with the diet and I would also use OPK's for ttc a boy. How's the charting going?

Hi all, can I join in here?

I think I am already a disastrous-swayer, but maybe being in this thread will help me out a little.

Am ttc #2, have a gorgeous spectacular ds who is 14 months. The first month of ttc I stopped bd-ing a couple of days before O, (doing the vaguely-shettles thing for a girl), didn't get utd and thought "Screw this!!!" So I just can't abstain on my most fertile days, I want a baby too badly and I am not young enough to muck around! Anyway, will *really* have to look more at the dietary stuff. I have stopped eating bananas and adding salt but that is about it.

I am also unlikely to try anything which decreases chances of conception (which a lot of the girl things are), so things that dry up cm etc are not for me!

I had an early mc the month before last, and feel vaguely guilty for the little "ooh, i hope it's a girl" thought that I had when I first found out I was utd.

This month was pretty terrible on the swaying front - I O'd 2 days early (what the???), so ended up dtd only right on O (perfect boy-recipe right?), not to mention the fact that isn't early ovulation correlated with higher chances of having a boy?

    Thanks Tanya

Charting is going ok, only started a few days ago though...was unsure if I wanted to try for a bubs while we are in the financial position we are, still not sure, but thought the charting cant hurt.
As it turns out, I got my period the same day lol so that is nice ot start at the beginning iykwim

DH is looking forward to DTD though lmao - poor guy has been deprived for almost 2 mnths while I have been in Melbourne.

I dont think the diet will be too hard, although the yoghurt and butter thing will be tough!
DP isnt too keen on being told we cant DTD because of O timing etc, but if he wants a boy!... ;P

    Hi all

Hey all my name is Sharney and I am trying for a baby girl. I have two gorgeous sons already but I have longed for a daughter all along.

I have been reading up on gender influencing and Im a little bit confused, I have had some places tell me high PH level is required for a girl then others tell me low PH is required , so I am lost anyone that can answer that for me?

I am ready to do just about anything to get that baby girl of my dreams. And as for the diets I have a great feeling that these are pretty good ( I hate the look of the girl diet, definately not what Id normally eat, hence I have two boys) but Im going to give anything a try!

    thanks everyone xox

    Talking Hot drinks

    Thanks!

Just another silly question, but just reading through the girl diet, it says you shouldnt have coffee and tea. Also that you cant have chocolate (so is it safe to assume no 'hot' chocolate also?)

So does anyone know if there are any hot drinks I can actually have while TTC a girl?
What about green tea, or is this included in the 'avoid tea'.

I am having real trouble with this diet, and I hate driking plain milk, dont eat alot of cheese and yohgurt normally so no wonder why I have two boys according to this theory! hehe.

    thanks.

    Hi sharnz

We are TTC a girl too - just starting this month. I read that peppermint tea is OK to have while trying for a girl.

I just had an appt with my FS today (I take Clomid to make me O) and asked her if there's anything I can to to increase my chances of having a girl and her response was "no - its a 50-50 chance". Feeling a little disheartened but still going to do a few things to maybe help our chances.

    thanks

    Thanks for that.
The way I see it is anything is worth a shot!
Ive had the two boys without trying anthing, and the more I read up on theories eg. the diet, ovulation theory, shallow vs deep penetration all those make me realise why I had two boys, as both times I was doing all the things that theoretcially would be to conceive a boy, all without knowing, so this time im hopeing doing the opposite of the first two times will work!

    I dont like peppermint boohoo
Im really going to struggle not having my hot drinks

    desperatly wanting a !! hehe
