Also stress can delay ovulation and even one day delay, if your timing sex around ovulation, could lead to a negative test. Please don't feel defeated. If you're not having sex at the right time you can't expect to get pregnant. While you're doing it as close as you can, you shouldn't get so upset about it if you're not having sex at the right times when it's not something you have much control over and you understand the timing may not be ideal and sex so early before ovulation will mean the sperm are gone before the egg releases. I'm not trying to be mean or hurtful, just observation from what you said.
