Go for it girls. I signed up last year just before christmas (to start round 1 in Feb) and I lost about 8kg before the program following her books, then another 9 during the program. Have mostly kept it off this year. Signed up again for round 4 but haven't been so good this time around (because I haven't been following it) due to excuses. It is absolutely worth while though- if you follow it- you WILL lose weight and WILL tone up and look and feel awesome inside and out! I learned so so much on it. It isn't just nutrition and exercise, she teaches you so much about your own thought processes etc.
I am going to revisit the program now from the information I kept last time I did it. I really need to sit down and do the goal setting now as I keep 'failing' / falling off the wagon with my good intentions. I need to set out what I want to do and stick to it - this in turn will set me up for when I start in Feb.
I am thinking about doing it, not to lose weight but to get more fit and toned and to help with getting in the habit of making healthy choices. For those who have done it before, how time consuming is the menu? I have tried to follow meal plans from weigh it up dot com before, but found them soooo tedious and time consuming :/ And I'm worried about it bumping up my food budget, which is already too high and we've been working on bringing it down.
I did find it more expensive with food, but that is because I am so used to buying cheap easy crap! I was happy to pay a bit more to buy fresh healthy food, as I knew it was better for me and my boys. I found the recipes were SO simple. I am not a cook at all, and mostly I found them really easy and really tasty!
Menus are really simple. I didn't find it that much more expensive at all anyway, TBH. You aren't buying rubbish, and you are only eating what is on the plan and your snacks, so cheaper all round for our family. (It saved me about $100 a fortnight actually).
Is it the type of food the kids would eat? I have an 18 month and 3 year old boy. We all eat the same meal now and I couldn't logistically cook 2 different meals.
Yep, most of it. It is easy enough to reheat them left overs of something they will eat or swap a piece of salmon for sausage. Both of mine loved the food.
I have also committed to run the City to Surf with my brother in August, he has lost 33kg since march this year and I find him inspirational, he was 142kg! He has been overweight since he was a little boy, hopefully I can take a leaf out of his book
I'm not sure what a realistic goal is? I've never exercised regularly before, and never with the intent of exercising or losing weight, it's only ever really been playing a little obligatory sport in school.
I'm a little over a week PP and weigh 77kg. I expect that to drop just a bit more in the next week. Is saying I'd like to lose 15-17kg too high an expectation. Ideally I'd like to weigh 55kg, but that's by the end of the year, so I dunno. I think 10kg this round, and anything else is a bonus.
I do also want to improve exercise habits so I can give my girls a good example, wear a bikini, and be able to run as a form of exercise, but honestly my first goal is just a number, the rest will follow.
And yay Frog. I think some divers are an excellent reward! I've never dived, but I assume the fitter you are, the easier and longer you can dive?
I'm still losing weight from the birth here which is a nice surprise, as I'm now 75kg (2kg below my pre-DD2 weight). So yay for that. I've been drinking loads of water and walking almost every day (I'm trying to make sure it's a decent walk every day before the season starts, getting there) and I've easily halved my non-water intake, which was the goal this week.
