Anyone got any ideas about how to get rid of the sugar cravings?
Rory hit the nail on the head re carbs (specialluhigh GI ones) giving you a sugar craving. High GI carbs give you an insulin spike in the body and only 20 mins after eating a meal, you think you are hungry, hence the sugar craving.

    To combat this:

Eat low GI carbs (salad, veggies, baked potato, basmati rice) instead of pastry items.
Or eat some low carb fruit (strawberries, melon) when you get the craving.

Div, I have found that if I avoid the processed carbs in the evening (and just have meat adn salad and meat and veggies) then I do not get the sugar craving....

For those worrying about tickers etc, I will finish them all today.

    Girls,

I have had to move all of the tickers to a separate thread, so I will sticky this new thread:

    https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml#post1582657

We are only allowed 8 tickers in a post, hence I have had to do a few posts to get them all in!

If anyone is missing a ticker, please pm me and let me know? I think I have all of them, but you never know....

    Home Resistance Workout

Warm up for 10 mins (skipping on the back lawn, running up and down the stairs etc)
4 sets of 12 rep push ups
3 sets of 15 rep squats
2 sets of 20 rep lunges, on each leg
2 sets of 20 rep side raises, on each side.

    Cool down stretch.

If anyone wants to know the correct range of motion, posture and technique, all you need to do is Google the item (ie squats) and garanteed there will be a good YouTube clip to show you exactly what to do........

Thanks guys for your suggestions about avoiding the sugar cravings. I think that pies are OUT... and more vegies are IN...

Unfortunately (or fortunately LOL) I'm off to Apollo Bay until Monday evening, so I won't be online. Will do my best during these few days to be good, but as I'm not cooking, it might be hard...

Bring on the WATER... drink more eat less Lol!

You're all doing SO well - willpower girlies! We can get healthy together!

Thanks again Lucy for being so organised!

    Have fun Divvy!

Well I bombed out last night at dinner, mums cooking is just to good. But I was happy with myself that I didn't just give up, instead I said no to dessert and went for a swim when I got home. That was a big step for me because DH and I always seem to stop for icecream and chocolate on the way home.

Thanks Lucy for the workout, I'm about to give it a go.

WOO, go me, I got out my eyetoy Combat, got a good 40 minute workout in this morning (broken into 20m lots, as the princess needed resettling LOL).

It's a miserable drizzley day so I couldn't go for a walk. Might later if it clears up.

Grocery shopping tonight so I'm off to meal plan

    Thanks heaps Lucy!!!

They say it takes 3 weeks to break a habit!!!! So hopefully all the crazing s will have subsided by then? I went shopping this morning and as soon as I seen the coke I really needed one...did'nt though, decided even the diet version was'nt worth it, don't need the rubbish in my body.
Sweet tooth? I have had the Nestle diet choc mousse before and although definately not filling, it is quite nice and eaten slowly really helps with a sugar fix. Only 1 WW point as well.
I have bitten the bullet and added my before shots, with and without clothes, scaryamazing what a difference clothes can make.

Well, had half a bad day yesterday, lol! I was really good until I went to mums house and she'd made up some mini lemon and passionfruit merangues (sp??) and mini custard cream fruit tarts YUM. Both my ABSOLUTE favourite things! My mouth is watering just thinking about them.... I had one merangue and 2 custard ones, and then had some of mums christmas choccies.....Sooo disappointed! I have absolutely no willpower. I did try not to eat them, then mum laid a guilt trip on me (unknowingly) about how she spent all morning making them up just for me. I haven't told her I'm trying to lose weight so it's not her fault. But I was good afterwards, which is a big step cause in the past I would have been of the opinion that I had already stuffed up and I may as well continue and start fresh tomorrow. I didn't exercise either. We had a bad afternoon, and DD didn't sleep and by the time I would have gone for a walk she would have gone to sleep in the pram and it was waaaay too late for her to have any kind of sleep by then or she wouldnt have gone to bed at a decent hour. So we didn't go. Does that make sense? LOL!
Aaaanyway! I have had some serious sugar cravings too, really trying hard to just ignore them. And whoever said they brush their teeth when hungry/craving, I do that too if a glass of water doesn't work and I'm getting desperate! It really works cause I think it kind of ruins the taste that you expect you'll be getting.
I will be posting some pics up too. I'm gonna be just a brave as the rest of you who have done it. Though it is REALLY daunting! I don't know if I'm brave enough to put up the ones in my underware though, maybe just the ones from christmas...we'll see how brave I get

I'm off to a better start with the food today - had a couple of weetbix with hot water and 1/4 cup hilo milk and just finished off some watermelon. Doing a grocery shop today so I'm not going to buy any junky snacks this week!

I agree with the sugar cravings, they are sooo hard to get past but I know once you do you quickly forget about it.

Starting to feel a bit better today as well, although still all stuffy and blocked up. DP gave me a wonderful back massage before I went to bed last night and I think it really helped me to sleep better Hopefully I will get in a nice walk this evening when the weather cools down.

Does anyone run? I have been thinking about running for a while and there is this program called couch to 5k which basically has you going from being a non-runner to being able to run 5kms non stop, in 9 weeks.

lilias, I figure that sooo many people have seen my body now, (babies, ops etc) it does'nt matter. Still it was a bit brave, and embrassing, and yes I need the inspiration ( a bit of name and shame type stuff). I did tick that non users could'nt get a look. The people on here are pretty openminded as a whole, you might as well see warts and all.
Also I think it's good for others to see that sometimes you may look okay in clothes but underneath, lies a whole nother world!!!!!

Well I had an alright day yesterday, I had my parents down from Hervey Bay visiting for christmas and they brought some nibbles, I only had a few chips and 6 natural confectionary lollies. We had a healthy lunch of cold chicken/ham and lots of different salads, but I still think I may have over eaten ie portion size. But on the upside I haven't had any coke for 3-4days and that's a huge thing as I absolutely love it, I've also been having my 2L of water for the past 2 days. I didn't get to exercise yesterday it was way to hot all day, not that that is an excuse but I really can't handle heat very well. I will be going out today as a cool change has come through and it's nice and overcast, so once DH gets home and can watch the kids I will be off.

Will try and get the courage to get DH to take some before pics.

    hugs xoxo

Guests are still here, thought they were going this morning. Hard to be healthy when all the crap is coming out (alcohol, lollies, soft drink). I am feeling both stressed and depressed. Not a good mix for me and eating.

I had a okay day yesterday, could have been better. I didn't end up going for walk cause dh went over his mates house and wasn't home when he said he would be. I was so mad he was late when he knew I had plans that I didn't want to go walking with him. Not that he even notice I was mad or maybe he did and just didn't say anything.

For sugar craving I have a weight watchers hot chocolate with a splenda (sweetener), and a little skim milk. It's yummy, fulling, and takes a while to finish.

I'm going to have to get some WW hot choc today!

My dh wont walk with me coz I don't walk as fast as him, but will go for a bike ride with ds and I, but I don't ride as fast (or as well! So clumsy!) as him.... So I guess it's on my own. If he did come with me tho, maybe he could lose some weight too and maybe push me to push myself more... Will have to work on him!

I had an ok day yesterday but caved last night, tired and ate 3 rows of Cadbury. Today I had toast for brekkie and a decaf with one sugar, then MIL came over with pies for lunch so today is out the window too.... not sure I can do this, I literally have no self control, I crave sugar and savory things like chips- have been eyeing them off all day. Dinner should be better - MIL is making a thai fish dish. I just wish I had the self control to do this properly but I don't think I do.
