LOL Deanne, I thought new years day was Wednesday, the last two weeks I've confused the heck out of a whole heap of people PMSL! So don't worry, I'm right there with you!

me too!
I'm feeling a little deflated today. I just read that one of my friends, is apparently 6 days into her "lifestyle change" and has lost 3 kg! wth is she doing? Not eating? She's bigger than me, and I really want to lose my weight, but it's not making me feel very good. I don't think I've lost any thing. Short of walking all day and eating barely anything, how am I going to do this? I know weight loss is a personal thing, and that it's not a competition, but it just feels like it is![]()

Rhianon- Try not to feel defeated, she may have lost 3 kgs of fluid or if she is doing some sort of radical diet, it might not be something she can maintain. Think lifestyle change over diet, this is your forever- to make a fitter healthier you. From everything I have read and heard, the slower you loose it, the more likely it is to stay off. I know in myself I seem to loose in fortnightly cycles rather than weekly, mostly affected by AF and ovulation- so now I know not to be too disapointed on the scales if one week shows not much of a lose, because usually, if I know in my heart of hearts that I have been doing the right thing (instead of just telling myself that I have) it will catch up the next week.
I have had a pretty good day, I got out of bed thinking.........hmmmmmmmm I didnt know I had muscles there (or there, or there etc) and usually I would have said to myself- oh you worked so hard yesterday, you must have because you are so sore, no need to exercise today. But instead I dragged myself out of bed while the house was still quiet (trust my kids to finally learn to sleep in when I hve decided to excercise early in the morning- typical) put on my joggers and stuck in my headphones and off I went on my morning walk.
As for food, I had:
beans on toast (1/2 cup of beans 2 slices of bakers delight hi fibre/ low gi)
small pk of fruit and nut mix
Home made cheese, corn and ham muffin
Some smoked oyster in spring water on vita weat crackers
For dinner I am making a chicken madras curry, which I will serve with clever rice (the low gi one) and steam veg.
Another PT session tomorrow, this one is a tone session - Monday was cardio, and saturday I will do kickboxing session.
Must try and get some more water in today though, think I have only had 1 l so far.
Deanne, no worries! I am the same as you. Some days I have to ask DP what day it is. When you are a SAHM, you forget so much! I love weekdays more than weekends now I'm a SAHM to be honest, love that it is quiet through the week.
Rhianon, my sister used to lose 5kgs per week when she first started WW! And she was well over the 100kg mark. They say that when you are bigger you lose more the first few weeks. I remember she started to slow down on the weight loss when she got under 80kgs, just works that way. I think she used to be allowed to have 24 points when she started too or something! I'm only allowed 20! But that is more than enough for me and my eating through each day. So don't worry hun, CM's are the important thing I reckon. After only 1 week I had lost 0.6kgs but 4cms off my thigh alone, that is just crazy! By the way, they recommend you don't lose more than 1kg per week, you'll keep it off then! Tomorrow is another day too hun! Hugs to you
Ali, man can I come over for dinner, that sounds nice. I am making Ginger Beef Stir Fry with Rice but I think I prefer yours! Well done on your exercise thing, so proud of you (think I told you that in our baby buddies forum anyway today already!!)
Well I just had a 2 hour sleep with my DD, now I'm feeling absolutely refreshed. However, glad I got the walk out of the way this morning![]()

Look at all you girls losing cm's and weight! I don't want to measure my cm's I don't think they will have changed all that much with me not doing much exercise. But I have lost a kg or so (as of yesterday arvo anyway!) I'm trying not to weigh myself except for weigh in days. It's waaay too hot for me to go for a walk now, still 36 degrees here. Though it is supposed to cool down apparently. I will have to go for a walk later if the kids behave and go to bed early! Otherwise I have done heavy cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, changing beds, cleaning cupboards...So again some exercise but not what I wanted to do!
Been really good with eating, in with calories, fat, and carbs, so a better day overall I guess. I'm getting better every day! I got AF today so that explains the really bad bad sugar cravings the past several days! No I have it I should be able to control myself better.
Kel, I get bad sugar cravings too when AF is due to arrive! BAD! Well done with all of that cleaning today!
Rhianon - try not to feel bad hun...you said yourself she is bigger than you and that just mean you are both different sizes and will lose kgs in different ways. She may lose more to start off with just for the fact that she is heavier. It's over the long term the counts and diet is a dirty wordit's a whole lifestyle change that will do the trick, something that you can sustain forever.
Well done on all you girls who've been on the scales and seen results.
I'm having a good day but think i might blow it tonight we are going out for dinner that is famous for its steak and serves huge meals. I am thinking i will try and get a small piece of steak and salad.....we will see.
I have been good with my eating today though lacked a bit in the exercise. I just find it soooo hard to get out and do it with my 2 girls under tow. DD1 WILL NOT sit in a pram so even a walk is out of the Q. I did put the wii fit on when DD2 was asleep but the phone rang and then DH came hm from work and then that was the end of that iykwim.
My affirmation.
It is Jan 2010 and i am between 60-64kg i am healthy and fit. I havent felt this good since pre children and am back into all my size 10 clothes- I am fitter than i have ever been. I am so pleased that i have set a good example for my children over the past year. My DH loves my new body and we feel like a brand new couple again. He is so proud of my transformation and loves to show me off. I am no longer shy and have to worry about rolls and dimples. My confidence is at an all time high and i am truly happy.
Hoody _IKWYM... DS is such a handful and thinks he's too big for a stroller but when he walks he runs off and just doesnt listen... DD is fine in the pram or carrier but prefers the pram... My DD works shift work so if its not him getting home at 1-2am its him leaving then and getting home at lunch... its hard cos we dont have a regular routine... I just need to start tellingmyself that its time to focus on ME... (easier said then done)
I think its grear all of you who are Gym'ing it and really getting into it... I need to make more time to get out there although my motivation is lacking being sick but once i get into it it should get easier
The thing i hate is dishonest people... I have few friends that keep telling me what they weigh... why tell me if there not going to be honest... A friend of my DP's is a big girl and while talking today she was telling me she needed to loose weight cos she was _kgs... if thats correct i want a set of her scales.. She appears to be the same weight as me and she was like 20 kgs off what i am... why cant people be honest... It was a big step for me to sent my stats in... i think confronting the "figure" on the scales is part of the journey...i never told anyone what i weighed but if i were to tell people i certainly wouldnt lie... especially not to a fellow FAT lady... GRRR
I've been bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely minimal exercise. I did walk from the top of the Queen Street Mall to the bottom and back at lunch time (on the way back carrying about 6 books I'd bought), had japanese for lunch & didn't eat all the rice (had about 7 chopstick full) - left more than half the rice in the bowl.
Tonight is salad - no steak, just a boiled egg & some ham in the salad.
I know my measurements etc are going to be bad this week - AF started on Monday which hasn't helped.
****....
I just went for an HOUR walk in 38 degree heat!! My face is as red as a beetroot and I am still sweating - ewww. Once I got back I did 50 squats, 50 lunges (25 each side), and 60 sit ups. I am absolutely stuffed but feeling very proud.
Today I only ate three saladas (with vegemite) for lunch, grapes and an apple. Not much I know but I still haven't got my appetite back. I fear a burn out and/or sickness is going to catch up with me...
I have a massive motivator - I'm going to look HOT HOT HOT when I travel to the US in 9 months!!![]()
Rhianon.......forget other peoples stats. It may be fluid anyways. Just trust your OWN bodies response. Promise.
I just did intervals up the bloody hill and back and I am now sweating like a pig: it is HOT here today. Gonna go and have a dip in the kids wade and shade pool now, to cool off!
Well done Amy braving that awesome walk in the heat!
Well done everyone else. Looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow morning AND doing my measurements!
I totally understand. The friend I was talking about earlier is the same. She hasn't told me her weight, but puts forward that feeling that she thinks she's the same. She says she's exersizing her butt off and doing the celebrity slim diet and eating better. But who am I to judge?
I just went for a 30 min walk and came back all hot and sweaty but damn, it felt good! Might see if I can fit 2 of them into my day! Will also try to get eye toy kinetic and the ps2 back from pil... Now if I can only find my digital scales and get dh to make them work (they keep turning off and don't stay on for long).
Hi all,
Rhianon,to you honey. You know, when people make HUGE changes in their eating and exercise regime, they tend to lose ALOT quickly, mostly fluid from water retention and bloating etc. Plus bigger people have more to lose, they they lose more. Have you ever watched the biggest loser? It's not about how much is lost, but the % lost. If you're 150kg, and lose 15kg, you've lost 10%. If you're 100kg, and lose 10kg, you've lost 10%. If you're 50kg, and lost 5kg, you've lost 10%. It's all relative
Hoody... they wouldn't do it with saladHow DUMB! Where did you go? I know sizzler don't do salads, because they have the salad bar but anywhere else makes no sense at all!
Feeling very sorry for you girls in the heat wave! It got up to 36 here, thats about it. No way I'd be out in that heat (I doubt I'd even move INSIDE my house PMSL) soto you Amy, well done, thats some keen motivation there!
Did my 40 minutes on the eyetoy, and then some cool down yoga on the wiifit. Had sausages for dinner last nightbut we had steamed vegies instead of chips, so I was half good. It all fit into my CK intake so all good. Gonna have some boiled eggs and salad for lunch.
Hey, I have trouble getting in all the protein I need (no probs with the carbs though). Should I look into a protein shake instead of my morning milo?
Lost 0.5g, which I am happy about. A loss is a loss, I've also lost cm's (1cm off waist, 0.5cm off hips, 1.5cm off bust - I'm not 100% sure if my bus counts though as a bfing mumma I tend to fluctuate lol). I'm 60.9kg now. 6.2kg to go. I also lost 1cm off my thighs
Lets celebrate with celery![]()
OH YEAH... I'm also BMI 25 nowMy WiiFit is very proud PMSL
Everyone is going great guns, it is awesome to see how much support everyone is ofering to each other.
I had my second PT training session this morning, and I put in my forms to become a member which was a huge step for me. Todays session was a toning session so not so breathless etc- but holy cow my body hurts. I am just pushing through, my trainer old me it will tkae at least 2 weeks for it to stop being so painful, so I just have to get on with it.
I weighed in this morning, I have lost 1.2 kgs and 2 cms of my bust. I am happy with that as my aim was too loose 600gm per week, and anything over that is a bonus.
Well done everyone seems to be doing so well
Mum's bringing over her tape measure today for me to use so I'll get my 1st lot of measurements in. I need to get my old measurements from the gym and see how they compare. I love that my scales have body fat % becuase sometimes when you plateau you are still losing body fat and gaining muscle.
Aimee slept through for the 2nd time ever last night woo hoo, so after her feed at 5am I put her back to bed at 6 and went to the gym, I'll try and do that for the next 2 days while tony is home. I have rejoined weight watchers online as I did it as a teenager and maintained my weight until I fell pregnant with dd1 then used it to lose the baby weight so it works for me and I can keep the weight off (unless I get pregnant lol).
Leasha 500g is great that is the maximum weekly weight loss reccomended while you are breastfeeding so that is what I am aiming for
Good luck with the coming week everyone
