I always walk on a Sunday at 8am. And Thursday nights at 7pm. Always. (I walk with a girl that I met in my personal training group. We yak our heads off for 5km!)

Are those times convenient for anyone else?
I walk at 7pm every night so I am in with you on the Thursdays

I like the idea of making say Tuesdays - everyone make an effort to do Lucy's workout and then on maybe Thursdays make an effort to dance around the house to two songs. Maybe if we have something small-ish (that we can do around the house) for every day that everyone is aiming to do it might help us. If we miss one or two no big deal but at least we have something small to work towards and every little bit of exercise helps. Only for those who wish to participate of course.

Well it was an absolute scortcher here today, 38degrees! So I haven't exercised today. It's still 27degrees apparently, and besides that DH is out with a friend so I can't go out anyhow, stuck here with my sleeping babes. I did do some heavyish cleaning though-cleaning 2 bathrooms and the bath and a couple of windows, so that's a little exercise I guess.
I have done pretty well today, kept within my calories according to calorie king, though I am struggling with getting my ratios right (ie- fat/protein/carbs) I have had way too mach fat and not enough carbs or protein. I think I will have to cut out all butter. I think that might be part of my problem, though I only have it on vegemite toast, and when I have eggs and soldiers which I did today.....and I'm using too much oil cause I need to buy some spray oil to cook with. Anyone have any other ideas?? I'm eating healthy foods, lots of fruit and veg, bread/cerials, meat/protein. I don't understand!! I haven't had any kind of junk food to day at all. And very little processed stuff, only some instant rice meal thingy to go with dinner (continental one, kwim??) and rice bubbles, that was it really, no bickies, processed meat, muesli bars...

Is anybody else a freak that dances around the house to music? Maybe we could all dance around to two songs a day, and change the songs once a week or something. Something easy that you can fit in rather than having to get out... if anyone kwim LOL!
LOL, does the Fairies count? I dance around with DD to her DVD's. Wiggles is another favourite....

I'll try to do the morning walk since it's been so hot here in the evenings, but I'll go on WDST 6am would be too hard, although I am up at 5:30...mmm might start the walking early....

I'm off to pilates tomorrow night...woohoo can't wait I LOVE it. Didn't get any formal exercise in today but cleaned the entire house, 5 loads of washing, vacuuming and mopping, scrubbed the bathroom...so I think that all counts for something

Had an ok day today. Had raisen toast with mashed banana on top and a cup of tea with 1 sugar for breakfast.totally skipped lunch as dh told me to pick him up from where he was, and we didnt get home til about 430, i just made dinner. We had special fried rice, made to WW specs. Then, and dont fall off your chairs now, dh,ds & i went for a walk to the park. All in all, we were gone for an hour. I had a WW icecream and 2WW bickies after watching Top Gear. A lil hungry atm but only coz im thinking of food!
Ill pop back in tomorrow to post my affirmation, and the recipe of the WWfried rice- it was so yummy!

I walked tonight. Fark me it was HOT. And my gf decided she was bored of our usual route so we did a track walk up Blackhill. V.steep. With the flies and the kangaroos at dusk. I am buggered.

And we had a delish dinner (very low fat and low carb) of tuna and sweetchilli which I will go & post now........

And I bought new shorts today: I am officially a size 12. This time last year I was a size 24. Blimey.

Lilias.......with the fat/carb/protein thing. The trick is to cut all butter and oils and milk, sadly. And then to find high protein low fat foods, like egg whites, tuna, turkey and chicken. You can eat A LOT of these. If you still struggle with protein, a shake in the morning made with protein powder (I use Natures Way from the supermarket) :it bumps up your protein well. And curbs all your cravings. Then carbs can be made up of fruit and veg and salad. It IS hard to get your head around it at first, but here is a typical day for me:

Brekky: Piece of fruit, protein shake, coffee
Lunch: Egg white omlette with salad (made with 4 egg whites, so a BIG omlette)
Afternoon tea: Tuna salad (A whole big can of tuna)
Dinner: Low fat Butter chicken (no rice) (About 120g of chicken)
    Snack: Watermelon.

    HTH?

OMG finding it so hard to keep up with this thread. We certainly are chatters

Well had a really good day til this evening BUT then had a shocking dinner as we went fishing and DH wanted chicken treat. I only had a lg chips and nothing else though so i tried to be good. I thought i'd completely blown my day but after checking in with Calorie King i was/am SOO relieved to see that i still came in with my calorie intake. So glad that my choices earlier in the day had been as good as they had. I also had 1.5l of water today. I am looking forward to weigh in but very scared- anyone else scared of the scales?

So glad everyone else is doing so well keep it up ladies. I will be back tomo to write my affirmation. Off to bed.

    Hi there.

I can try to fit walks in at those times. I usually walk anywhere from 5.30 - 6.30 am each morning. So if anyone wants to join me, please do. Depending on what day it is my work starting time varies from 7.30/8am/9am.

One week in, and added on an extra two blocks to my walk this morning. My muscles have stopped hurting now, so figured it was time. I'll give this distance a few more days and then add in another block or two. Can't wait to get my old walking distance back that I was doing a couple of years ago. Cheated on dinner last night - with the heat last night, I ducked up to the shops and bought a couple of cooked chooks, brought them home and threw a salad together with them. Healthy and cool - or at least I didn't have to cook anything and make the house any hotter then it already was.

Lucy - Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on being a size 12. I had a similar thought this morning, (just not as a big a jump). I've gone from size 20 to size 14. I'm pretty proud of myself for that. Won't be long and I can aim for size 12.

I'm off now to make sure I'm ready to start work - today's 7.30 start so haven't got long and don't finish til about 5.30 tonight, so I'll have to see what the weathers doing as to if I walk again tonight.

Hope you all have a great day.

I am SO SO proud of myself!!

I went for a walk last night in 30 degree heat! Not only that.. but I walked up TWO hills! Our house is at the top of a hilly suburb so after my walk down to the flatter part of our suburb (2km winding through houses) I started up one of the hills. I reached the top (exhausted) and then turned around and went back down - then I climbed up the second STEEPER hill to get home!!!

My legs are sore today but I feel fantastic - it certainly got my heart rate up and kept it there for quite a while. Hopefully I burned some major calories!!

Wow Lucy, that's AMAZING! You should be so proud of yourself

    Everyone is doing sooo well!

Cookiemonster, I'm one of those freaks that dances around the house
It's so hot here if I don't get out of the house by 7ish it's just too hot to go for a walk.
I have been dancing for 45 mins or so and then doing the exercises that Lucy put up for us.
Has anyone else been doing them? I'm so useless at push ups, it's more a slight bend of the elbows. I don't make it anywhere near the ground

I walked for 15 mins in heels yesterday arvo! I'm trying to regulate my sleeping patterns at the moment so I actually can get up early and exercise before work, because I'm exhausted when I get home. I'm going to go and check out the gym this afternoon.

Thanks for the advice, Lucy. I must admit that I don't eat alot of meat, usually only at dinner if then. And I'm not a huge fan of fish or eggs. Though it's not that I don't like them at all. I have been making an effort to have an egg for breaky cause I know it's good for me to have that protien. I feel fuller for ages when I do, especially if it's with lite ham or something. I will try to have more tuna and fish. I don't eat that at all unless I make an effort. Not really on my list of favourite things! I love my fruit and bready stuff, but even still I can't meet the requirements for carbs! But it's 250g which seems like a hell of alot. I'm not so worried about carbs though.
Congrats on being size 12! If I could get there again, I would die a happy woman!

Good on those of you that went for a walk in this stinking heat! I will go tonight! Or at least I'll do exercise today. It's going to be 41 at least here today....yuck!!!

Captain, the more exercise I do the more I want to do, have had not trouble keeping up with the exercise, and have done 40 minutes a day (bar Sunday, which was a total right off LOL) and am loving it. Am waiting for miss muffet to wake up and we're going for a walk to the post office. I'll carry her in her sling (I carried her around the shops for 90 minutes yesterday) which will be like carrying a 9kg weight on me LOL!

scone, do you have a wiifit? It tells me every day that within a 24hr period weight can fluctuate 1kg up and down. Defiantely only weigh yourself once a week, in the morning (as evening weight can be pretty depressing!).
Besides, remember its not the WEIGHT itself but also the cms lost, as muscle weighs more than fat so theoretically you can be losing fat, gaining muscle, getting in GREAT shape with a GREAT figure and could put on weight.

Sunday was SHOCKING, as is pretty much every Sunday because Shel is home and her turn to cook I try to get her to cook healthily but that usually means I end up cooking after she asks "how do I cook this" for every ingredient involved! So I just let it go, and give myself the 'treat'. Well, it wasn't a treat when CK told me I was sooooooo over my intake. DOH, didn't exercise either. Well I studied HEAPS, which apaprently I can burn 48 calories an hour studying LOL! Ah well, Sunday's supposed to be a rest day right? Yesterday was pretty good, walked around the shops wearing Jazz, had grilled steak and salad for dinner.

This morning I've done 40 minutes - 25 minutes of cardio plus 15 minutes of yoga stretching. I feel great. Want to go for a walk except its just started raining The weather hates me, I'm pretty sure!!!!! I want to buy a rain cover for the pram except Shel doesn't want Jazz out in the rain at all, which is kind of fair enough. I should vacuum today, plus some other cleaning, so I'll make an effort to actually do it.

My affirmation... I tried to write my affirmation... but it ended up beig all about Jazz, somehow... it's hard, and I find it really hard to motivate myself for MYSELF... Is that ok? I find it hard to do it for myself, but easy to think "Shel will like it when I'm a size 10" or "I'll be able to play with Jazz when she starts being mobile"...
I did, however, have a shower this morning, as part of my self-care regime now. Yes, I had trouble justifying (and finding time...) having a shower every day, I don't think about myself often. But I had a shower while Jazz was asleep after my exercise and I already feel better and refreshed for it!

My food goal this week is still to replace coke with water, and at night I was thinking a tea before bed instead of coke. I have trouble sleeping sometimes, despite being bloody exhausted!

Well the princess is awake, better go. Hopefully the sun will come out and I'll be able to go for a walk.

Oh, I thought weigh-in/measuring was tomorrow...?

Leash, sounds like you are doing really well. I know what you mean about motivation for yourself! It is hard with a little one, it is all about my DD for sure as well! It is good to feel healthy though isn't it? For our DD's sakes too! I have so much more energy for her now. It is great. Replacing coke with water would be fantastic, if you can do that, perfect. I drink about 10 glasses a day and I think it's the water that makes me feel so hydrated and refreshed about everything. Don't forget coke dehydrates you, but I guess you know that! Yes, is weigh in tomorrow?
